1. NoScript. It does not matter how the compromised site is trying to nail you. Click-jacking, cross-site scripting (XSS), Active-X and more. From the page: The NoScript Firefox extension provides extra protection for Firefox, Seamonkey and other mozilla-based browsers: this free, open source add-on allows JavaScript, Java, Flash and other plugins to be executed only by trusted web sites of your choice (e.g. your online bank).
2. Modified my hosts file in Windows. This one is brutal. The hosts file on your windows machine starts out blank. It's a sort of card catalog for the computer, where you can manually enter domain names and their IP address, thus bypassing the DNS system.
Normally, Furaffinity resolves to 104.20.5.196. But if you edit your hosts file like so...
furaffinity.net 127.0.0.1
You're telling your machine to look at it's own home address. Which is to say, your browser won't pull up anything except the message, "Cannot reach furaffinity.net".
The Someonewhocares website has some 90,000 advertising websites in it's list, and it's updated regularly. (The last update was the 21st of June, 2015.) Just be aware that like NoScript, the hosts file *can* break some websites, such as eBay. Be sure to follow the instructions on the site.
3. Facebook Purity. Kicks the ba-hoo-wah FUCK out of Facebook, disables a shit-ton of ads, games, invites, news feeds and more. Facebook the way *you* want it.
And yes, I have AdBlock. AdBlock Plus, to be precise. It is...*not* entirely useless. There are still some annoying websites who haven't paid the ransom fee to join the whitelist, FA being one of them.
As mentioned above, there are several others, such as Facebook Disconnect, Twitter Disconnect and more? But I just block ads. For now.

Furlandia!
General | Posted 10 years agoIm really excited for this con, but im also a bit worried there wont be as many people as last year since BLFC was just last weekend. I know a lot of people that went to that con. For most people back to back cons are a bit too much. So im still excited to see some friends, and make new ones, but not expecting a huge turnout.
If you are going to be there come find me and hug me! Or drag me away for snuggles! Also to my cubby friends, if you host any gatherings let me know, i wanna come :D
