Miss my Paw-Post? Enjoy a quick interview!
Posted 7 months agoIt has been over a half decade since I ran out of the free time required to keep doing the Paw-Post, and one of the things I really enjoyed about it (and you guys did as well) were the character and artist interviews. Well... I recently got a chance to ask a question for the characters of Karo-Stella . I asked:
"For all of you... in years of doing the Paw-Post and asking artists, people and characters about paws, the differences of why and what people like about them is always fascinating. What are the ways each of you like paws (as in things like look, texture, scent, use, presentation, etc)?"
Go check out the answers and the amazing (nsfw) picture that it spawned: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/59623361/
All paws involved here are C3 type, characters are 1 feline male, 2 feline females. :)

R.I.P. Dragoneer - you're why so many of us are here
Posted a year agoThere are a lot of great things about being an old greyfur, and one who has been in the Fandom for nearly a quarter century now. The one not so great thing is that with enough time, you also see the passing of fellow furs. Late yesterday, the fandom lost one of it's legends - Dragoneer.
While I did not know him personally or well, we did chat now and then - particularly in the early days of FA. He struggled to keep FA up and going for everyone, and in the days before subscriptions or corporate ownership, I'd offer some cash and/or server advice. He was passionate about keeping this site up for everyone, and he did; he always managed, and was always looking ahead.
Just a few days ago he made a journal post about his surgery and on-going health struggles, and just like FA, he was looking ahead to what came next, even still "faving" things yesterday. Now... he joins that sadly growing list of furs that have moved on to the stars, and it definitely stings in a way that hits us with a greater commonality.
Being an older guy, this is something that happens in real life as well - friends, family - be it old age, a tragic accident, or an illness, you begin to lose the people around you. We stop and pause to think about the lives they lived, the memories they created, and the lessons they taught us. And... perhaps that also reminds us just as much to enjoy EVERY bit of the life we have, because you never know when you might join them.
Rest In Peace Dragoneer - thank you so much for your never-ending devotion to FA and the fandom.

Check out Charlotte's latest animation!
Posted a year agoG'DAY ALL!
So I don't do up journals all that often, but I wanted to do one today to help showcase some amazing work by @CharlotteFloof, a very awesome friend I met in GW2 that has taken to doing 3D renders and animation work. I'm hoping a bunch of you already watch her for the great paw-teases she likes to render, but if not.... you're welcome! This latest animation is a long one and is definitely NSFW. It does definitely have some awesome footpaw views, but also m/f mating, member-worship, teasing, breasts - that sorta thing. I would highly recommend it though:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56974276/
The GIF is just a preview - look in the description for the download link. I LOVE her attention to detail with it - like toes being expressive, where glances are, but also that it tells a story. Charlotte is working up to eventually doing commissions as well, so cool to keep in mind if you fancy this sorta thing for yourself! Anyway, go check it out, and be sure to leave feedback too; as I said often in the Paw-Post, artists greatly appreciate feedback!

R.I.P. KyleDragon <3
Posted 4 years agoIt is with an immensely heavy heart that I wanted to share the passing of KyleDragon, who slipped away from us after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
Kyle was one of the first few furs I knew/met in the fandom over 20 years ago. Then 19, he was an amazing helping hand into understanding a wonderful, wholesome aspect of the fandom and my first introduction to the idea of tickling. I wrote my first such story for him -one I shall post here (though not today). He was always kind and warm, and was a big part of my settling into this wonderful place. It was amazing to watch him grow up, establish himself and be successful in life while still retaining every one of those amazing qualities he had from the start.
It is a stark, harsh reminder of the fragility of life, and to love and appreciate every day that we have. God Speed Kyle - thank you for everything and just being you. <3

HAPPY NEW YEAR, also updates, holiday medical chaos stuff
Posted 5 years agoSoooo... people are probably starting to wonder what's going on as it's been way, way too long since I've posted anything, so, I'll break down what's been going on of late with things so y'all know what's going on in this old dragon-dog's busy life:
Abnormal Holiday Chaos
The holidays are chaotic for most of us, but this year came with an unexpected twist: my wife ending up in the hospital. To sum it up, she got sick with something that went straight to her lungs. My wife has Lupus, osteoarthritis, early stage COPD and a slew of other problems, so getting what they eventually called a case of "atypical pneumonia" really did her in. She was going to go to Emergency but decided last minute to try a Walk-In Clinic (her normal doctor was on Christmas Holidays) hoping getting some antibiotics might help clear it up for Christmas, but that didn't work out. Christmas came, and she had so much trouble breathing that doing anything other than sitting down or laying down had her coughing and gasping for breath. For the first time ever, she wasn't able to spend Christmas with her daughter (at their place) or her grandkids. That sucked. So by the next day we were at the hospital, and they admitted her. She spent 4 days there (3 on oxygen) as they tried to figure out what the heck she had. After being discharged, she's remained very short of breath, and still can't do anything much, so I'm taking care of everything task/chore wise until she's at a point where she can manage again. Poor girl. :/
The Paw-Post
After ceasing the weekly Paw-Posts in October, I was hoping to resume them in a new format for a monthly release that was more artist/character highlight focused. Was hoping to get new art and get time to link to all the past ones and so on - that didn't work out so well. Two different automotive repairs and up-coming holidays laid bare any budget for art, and then I spent the first 2 weeks of November on-call, and the middle of December on-call. Paired with the holiday rush, and I have just not had ANY time to pursue the interviews that I have lined up - one has been in-progress now for 6 weeks. >_< So even at a once-a-month release rate, I am still finding it immensely hard to have the time to do a Paw-Post. I still fully intend to do them, but I guess they'll be starting in January now instead.
Art Uploads
Many of you may have noticed pics of my fursona or characters popping up throughout the year, but not in my own gallery. That's because I am now about 13 months behind in uploading art to my gallery. Yep... no time again, again, as usual. I am hoping to get to that in January as well. I have lots. :P
Art Downloads
Heh - another fine example of this "no time" problem is that I've now got 821 pictures (as of the time of writing this) that I need to download. XD Again, just have not had the time to do it and organize it.
My Own Art
2018 was an amazing year for art by me, 2019 was a complete dud. The kicker is that it wasn't from not wanting to draw, it was from having my perfect drawing time stripped away because of changes at work. I used to go into work early - first one there - and have completely uninterrupted time to draw before anyone else came in. Perfectly lighting, lot of table top area to work on - it was great. Then changes to the way we record our tickets, time-track and others coming in super-early have completely removed it as a time I could use. Drawing at home requires a literal rebuild of an area to pull it off, but I am working on that. A former co-worker (retired) is refinishing an amazing old 1940s drafting table that I can use for it, and I'll be getting a movable desk/artist lamp that I'm hoping will provide the lighting I need. :) (our house is very dimly lit at night, as that's much healthier for you).
A New Decade!
So yes... HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! A whole new decade stretches before us, and it's just.... crazy to think that the infamous and futuristic-sounding "Year 2000" (at least to my generation) was now 20 years ago. The 2010s were a pretty awesome decade overall for me. I discovered kayaking (in summer of 2010) which has become my most beloved hobby, I met so, so many wonderful new people here and made a lot of amazing and dear friends, I started the Paw-Post, I lost my fear of drawing and actually started doing it, I vastly expanded my knowledge of automobiles and kinda turned into a gear-head for working on them, heh, I entered my forties, I got into a regular work-out and fitness routine (and am in the best shape of my life), and I became a vegetarian. ^_^ So... let's see what the 2020's will hold!
May your new year, and new decade be full of adventure - and even though not all adventures are "fun" - they are all something we can learn and grow from, and become better than when we started them. Always remember that. :) See y'all in the next Paw-Post!

Paw-Post Cancelled this week - no time again
Posted 6 years agoHi All,
So my on-call week was pretty rough as usual, then I was out of town for the weekend and just got back tonight. While the Paw-Post's links are done, I wasn't able to find the time to interview the highlight, plus I'll be getting ready for bed in 90 minutes from writing this, so I don't have time to even just add in another dozen links, add some comments, do the graphics and get it to post-worthy status; that takes a good 3 hours.
Soooooo, I shall have to cancel and just post a really BIG Paw-Post next week. I'm not on-call this coming week, nor am I going anywhere, so I should have time to work on it. Sorta case-in-point though of why I need to change the Paw-Post to something a little different that perhaps only has a once-a-month release. Anyway, see y'all next week for one; have a good week all!

HEADS UP: Paw-Post conundrum... *scratches head*
Posted 6 years agoHi All,
So I got a bit of an issue both this week and next. I have family over this weekend and I'm on-call for work, which has meant work on the Paw-Post (or furry-anything) has not been possible. I've also had no luck in securing a highlight yet due to crickets from the invites I sent out.
Next week I'll be out of town for part of the weekend all the way until Tuesday, so unable to release a Paw-Post on Monday, and almost certainly unlikely to be able to do it Tuesday either because I'll be basically getting home, rushing to make dinner and get to bed.
So...
I am thinking of doing a sort of "Between the Posts" Paw-Post that I release on Friday, or maybe Saturday - something like that. At least that way there is one. I don't see any other way to do it other than outright cancelling them and I'd rather give you all something than nothing.
Anyhoo, that's why you will not be seeing a Paw-Post tomorrow. So keep watch Friday/Saturday and I should get something up for y'all. :) Ciao!

Paw-Post is delayed tonight - 12 to 24 hours
Posted 6 years agoHi Folks,
I have been out of town nearly the entire day, got back walked dog, made dinner, BUT - I have to be up at 3am tomorrow to do some early-morning core upgrade stuff at work, so with the super early bed time (about a half hour from writing this), just don't have time to do the Paw-Post today. I will try to get it up sometime tomorrow morning if I can. This week is a Paw-Post "Lite" As I was also not able to secure a highlight until the weekend (thanks to FA's outage) and didn't have time to arrange an interview.
Just wanted to let everyone know it's still coming. :) Night!

Paw-Post cancelled for this week - busy TC again. >_<
Posted 6 years agoHi All,
Just a quick heads-up that I need to cancel the Paw-Post for this week because I have had no time at all to work at it in the last week, or on the weekend.
This, unfortunately, it becoming a growing problem on two fronts. At home, I was not getting a lot of sleep. I aimed for 7 hours a night, but maaaaaybe once every week or two I'd actually manage that. Most nights were only 6 hours. That's not healthy - especially with more and more studies proving how crucial sleep is ( there is an excellent TED talk on that, by the way: https://www.ted.com/talks/matt_walk.....our_superpower). Anyway, I decided to up it to 8 hours a night, and be a lot more strict about adhering to it. That means though that I had 1 to 2 hours less a day for things.
At work, the university is adopting a lot more change-management, ticketing systems and time-tracking, which is making it a lot more difficult to squeeze in furry stuff without my hours starting to look like there is too much "unplanned" time usage, so between those two big changes, it's becoming a real struggle some weeks to find the time needed to do the Paw-Post. More of the work is shifting to the weekends, and sometimes, a weekend is booked with other stuff like friends and family events, like this last one was for me, and then I don't have any time left to work on things.
So that said, I hope to return again next week, but it is starting to look like I may have to rethink how I am doing the Paw-Post, and/or, what it offers all of you. I may create a poll on that subject in the near future to get an idea of what people think about stuff.
Hopefully back to normal by next week. Ciao!
