It's finally Friday, though not a great one for me as I start my on-call week today. >_< And as if to celebrate this lovely occasion, a 1 hour meeting turned into a 2 hour, 10 minute meeting this morning, and I have had more people at my desk to work with my on troubleshooting than I have had time to myself. Bleeehhhh
In fact, been so busy I noted some new journals going up as I was trying madly to get this done about "Love wins!" and stuff, and I was thinking "What the heck is everyone talking about?" And popped open the news to see the awesome news that the Supreme Court in the USA has FINALLY legalized same-sex marriage nation-wide. Congratulations to all the Americans out there - you're a bit late in joining the party, but thank GOODNESS you finally made it. :) That was awesome news to see. ^_^

My oh my... Adrea's Genesis-2 model is coming along beautifully! In some of the prior posts, I had been giving him some feedback on the model, and this version incorporates one of the suggestions of a bit less slender heel. Very gorgeous feet - honestly, these are the most perfect digital feet I have yet seen. If you're interested, he posted a couple side-by-side pictures of the Genesis-2 model compared to the prior version of Adrea (this was prior to the heel-tweak) in which you can really see the improvement to the design of the feet, particularly in the shape and taper of her toes: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Doppe.....er-2-541757123, http://www.deviantart.com/art/Doppe.....nger-541687194 (difference is really apparent here). I have watched and enjoyed Kalahari's work for quite a number of years! He has always done such big, lovely footpaws and pads on his characters, and while so far there hasn't been a paw-centric piece, they certainly feature very prominently in many pictures. As art is not Kal's career/job, he is not accepting commissions, and only has time to do mostly personal stuff from time to time, but when he does, it's often well worth the wait. As usual... I provided him the usual types of questions, and here were his answers!
(TC) What sort of interest in footpaws do you have (if any - and feel free to explain maybe why you like drawing them)?
(Kalahari) My interest in drawing footpaws has grown a lot over time, in part because they're just so fun to draw and can really make a piece that much cuter/sexier if done well. I haven't drawn a lot where the paws are the focus of the piece, but I love them being a part of the picture whenever they can!
(TC) What type of commentary do you like on your work? What sort of comments do you not like, or don't want (say, creepy comments or whatever)?
(Kalahari) The only comment I really don't like is no comment at all! It means so much to me when someone takes the time to share their feelings about my artwork, and of course it's great to know what others see in it. Sadly, I don't get a lot of constructive criticism, but I like it whenever I do--I'm still learning!
(TC) Do you have anything you'd like to personally say to the folks in the Paw-Mail?
(Kalahari) Keep the love of art alive! Artists really thrive on the love others have for their work, and it's encouraged me to know I'm far from the only one who likes well-drawn paws :)
(TC) How did you start drawing, and when/where/how did that end up leading you to the furry fandom?
(Kalahari) I started drawing seriously when I discovered the fandom, actually. Back in the spring of 2003 I found out about furry art, felt an immediate deep connection with it and picked up a pencil and paper. If it weren't for furry, I don't think I'd be able to find a place for my artistic expression.
(TC) Do you have a particular favourite sort of footpaw to draw, and why is that?
(Kalahari) Of course I love all things fox! But my favorite kinds of paws to draw right now are those of fully padded plantigrade animals, like raccoons, maybe just because I love paw pads. And in general, I prefer drawing plantigrade to digitigrade, because to me they're much softer and more nicely muscled.
(TC) Does your interest for footpaws (if you have one, that is), spill over into real life and humans? Explain.
(Kalahari) Feet in the real world can be very attractive, and yeah, they're fun to play with! I love being able to go barefoot, too, because it makes me feel that much closer to the earth and a little more like an animal *riff!* It helps me feel more "in the present" with the world.
(TC) Much of your work has a real playful quality to it - just very energetic and fun, whether it's the way the paw is draw/posed, or the whole character. Is there any particularly inspiration or references that the images are based on?
(Kalahari) Over the years, I've relied less and less on actual figure reference. Not that that's a good thing artistically, just because I find it easier to put directly onto paper what I see in my mind. References DO come in very handy when I'm struggling with particular parts of a drawing. The inspiration I get to draw happy, carefree characters comes from some of my artistic idols when I was learning to draw furries, like Michele Light and Terrie Smith, but also because I want my artwork to instill a bit of that happiness in its viewers.
(TC) What is your favourite sort of commission or drawing challenge to get?
(Kalahari) I actually love getting to draw sexual pieces, haha. I acquired a bit of a reputation for drawing firearms and military themes, so this has characterized most of my commissions, but getting to draw new, interesting subjects is a lot of fun, and I deprived myself from drawing adult themes for a long time.
(TC) Do you have any sort of advice for anyone who would like to take up drawing (like where to start, or something that is helpful)?
(Kalahari) Practice means EVERYTHING. Draw every day, for as much time as you can. But that said, you can learn a lot by trying to mimic the style of artists you like. Of course you will find your own style over time :)
(TC) Do you have any particular pet-peeves when it comes to drawing or working as an artist?
(Kalahari) I wish I had time to draw for everyone, but I sadly can't XD This means I have to turn down a lot of commission requests, and while this isn't any fault of those asking, it's one of those battles I have to face as an artist with limited time to devote to his art. And since I don't rely on it for my livelihood, personal art has to come first.
(TC) What do you find the most attractive thing in art about anthro characters (can be General, mature, or adult commentary)?
(Kalahari) What I really love in furry art is characters that still act in some way like animals. And this can be seen in a connectedness to nature (which is why indigenous-themed artwork is among my favorites), nudity and body-positivity, sex-positivity, and of course going barepawed!

Tues. June 23rd Paw-Mail! (journal copy)
Posted 10 years ago*growf*So London (Ontario) got hit by a pretty good Thunderstorm last night LOT of lightening which caused a bunch of power outages and blips (http://www.lfpress.com/2015/06/23/w.....through-region). When I came to work this morning, a number of stop-lights were just blinking red, and at the campus, several dozen systems had not come up right from power blips (not bad given there are over 1600 monitored systems). The poor guy on-call had been here since 3am. >_< So spent part of the morning working through some of those lingering issues and got a late start on the Paw-mail again.
Had a pretty good weekend. That kayak Demo Day thing at Byng Conservation park was a bit of a dude - despite them advertising it for two weeks, only 4 people came. I think the timing was bad myself - it turns out there was an annual fishing tournament for the county going on, and also "Day of 1000 canoes" was going on further up the Grand River, so... yeah, probably the worst day they could have picked for it. >_< Oh well - I got catch up with some friends, and still got to put my boat on the water and enjoy myself for a while.
Another upside was that I could go to my folks place (only about 36km from where I did the Demo Day) and stay the night, which meant getting to spend Father's Day with my Dad. It's the first time he's been back in Canada for it since retiring - and the first time as such I've been able to BE with him on Father's Day for 21 years! That was nice. :)

Why: THE DECOR! Okay, not just the decor, but you gotta love their choice of home decorations! I like this one because it's just SO paw-centric. While paw-jobs are not something I like, it's not the only paw-related thing going on. Artica herself is clearly enjoy a snout full of Trance's big, meaty sole, and THAT definitely appeals to me. The paws are all well drawn too - I mean check out the shape of Trance's toes on that paw that's touching the floor! Beautiful. 2nd pic: Close-up! Wow, I think Restif's doing a great job with the new Adrea model! These are almost... ALMOST what I would consider "perfect" for human feet. So....... one of the drawbacks Taorena has is that a spike in emotions can cause him to just sorta... insta-macro. After playing out an urge to try some female clothing, he got just that sort of rush of emotion and POOF - giant male dressed in adorable female bling. XD So... bit of an awkward stroll through the city, but if you ask me, it doesn't look like those people in the park are all that bothered. In fact some of them look downright thrilled at getting such a nice view of that big meaty sole of his! (heck, I'd sure be glad to be in that park!)

Stumbled upon this picture which I like for a couple reasons (besides nice feet). First off, this is a great pose - I used to love even when I was a child when others did this sorta pose 'cause it would show off the soles so nicely! (And yes, I have liked feet and stared happily at them from the age of at least 4). Second, this is one of the rare pictures where the photographer actually focused ON the feet. Usually (and not surprisingly) the focus is on the face. This lady has very lovely looking soles, and the picture is available in pretty high resolution to really appreciate them.

Another day off to a very busy start that afforded me only a few minutes this morning to work at this, during which time (those of your on the E-mail list will know) I discovered a nice "feature" of Outlook; accidentally hold down shift and press enter, and it assumes you wanna send the e-mail! Why: Because heaven. XD I have a real soft spot for Blackwargreymon and Wargreymon - to me they are the two sexiest digimon EVER, and of course they have huge, meaty and awesome looking footpaws. Character Summary:
(Cirez) Cirez is a hybrid between dragon and demon, but considers himself to be more of a demon due to the dominant nature of his demonic blood. He commands an infernal realm to which he can always return if the need arises. Cirez isn't necessarily an evil character as he usually prefers to remain passive and observing until he could analyze the situation. His traits shift with his mood. They vary from benevolence for those who deserve it to total indifference and even brutality against people who earned it. He generally is cunning and resourceful.
Commenting on Images:
(Cirez) I usually like getting all sorts of comments, be they funny or even a little bit kinky. The only comments I totally dislike are offending ones of course and comments which aggressively imply or demand interaction with me / the character.
Some Q&A:
(TC) He is often seen anywhere from normal size to macro, and sometimes normal size with shrunk-down friends (or enemies). Is this a power that he has, and what's his favourite size?
(Cirez) Cirez can indeed grow and shrink himself, but to a rather limited extent. His favourite height is human size around 1.80 meters. When he shifts size he usually grows bigger to around 20 meters at max. Everything higher often feels uncomfortable to him, but it sometimes happens too. Should he decide to shrink himself, he only does so to get a better look at some paws he likes. ;)
(TC) Seems pretty obvious that Cirez is into paws quite a bit - can you explain what he likes about paws (turn-ons, favourite kind, etc)?
(Cirez) Cirez is a total paw-fanatic. His relation to paws can be rather destructive both for him and others at times. The dragondemon enjoys all kinds of different paws or feet, they just have to be aesthetic and well kempt. Types of paws and things he likes about them are: Plantigrade, digitigrade, human like feet, paws with or without claws and pads and sometimes hooves are cool to him. Well, sometimes paws and the like can be messy and dirty to make them even more interesting. Skatersneakers, flip-flops and striped socks can also be extremely enticing. There you have the problem - there is always something for him to see and be distracted. Activities he enjoys are also very differentiated (both giving and receiving): Gentle worship and cuddling with paws, deepthroating toes and feet, trampling, stomping and even crushing. Being pinned underneath feet, giving/receiving pawjobs and much more are also awesome.
(TC) How about his own footpaws - he has really nice ones; does he enjoy them himself, or is it more about sharing them and enjoying other people's feet?
(Cirez) He likes the aesthetics of his own paws and is aware of the fact that they are attractive to some people. Cirez absolutely loves "sharing" his own paws and have them worshipped, be it voluntarily or by forcing them on others. Despite his cunning nature he often becomes will-less when he sees a nice pair of paws and then tries everything to get close to them. It can be easy for others to control him if you have sexy paws to offer.

(TC) Is there anything he -doesn't- like about footpaws?
(Cirez) Unkempt footpaws are a massive turn-off as well as paws with smell. A light and natural scent is alright, but extreme smell is totally disgusting to him.
(TC) We sometimes see Cirez being very accommodating to his friends, sometimes in pretty crazy and creative ways (like Flam's picture) - is that just how he is?
(Cirez) When he is in the right mood and knows that you like his paws he might do some crazy things to you. Even if his subjects object to it he likes a lot of activities together with his "paw-friends": Pressing his feet on your face and body, demanding extensive worship, giving full body massages (while trampling you), forcing pawjobs, putting you in his socks or sneakers or simply pinning you underneath his massive soles for as long as he wants to. If he wants you at his paws you better obey. ;)

(TC) We also sometimes see Cirez being downright dangerous and destructive - is that sort of the "other side of the coin" with his personality?
(Cirez) Exactly, that is like another fraction of his personality. Depending on the situation and his mood Cirez can be extremely violent and crushlusty. Things are going to get messy then. When he is in destruction mode he loves getting his paws messy, stomping and grinding everything to pulp. Cirez is also very creative when it comes to disposing of people under his feet. So you better get some distance if you don't want that to happen to you. ;)

Posted 10 years ago*growf!*I'm beginning to think that crazy days are just coinciding with paw-mails because Murphy hates Paw-mails. XD It was another busy morning today which continued on into the afternoon as I had to deal with a number of issues, including why our IPv6 side of the web server just.... stopped working for NO reason. Then again... that IPv6 works at all is kind of a miracle. <_<
Anyway! Been thinking of a way of stream-lining the posting of these things. The paw-mails, even once done, take a while to post just because the Rich Text formatting of the e-mail has to be redone for FA, and redone again for Weasyl. I'm starting to wonder if the FA and Weasyl posts might be better as PDFs done as a direct cut/paste form the original e-mail. What do you guys think? Or heck, even just attach the PDF to the e-mail then have a single unified method of presenting these things.
Also - COMMENT! Please speak up and share your favourites with others - what picture would get "most pawesome" in your opinion, or what ideas and or feed back do you have? I'd love to get people talking in these on the journal posts to help share thoughts and opinions. :)

Why: Well first off, picking today's was a tough one because there were a few good considerations - this one wins out on the basis of it's storied meaning. :) This is actually part 2, inspired by this first picture: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16684431/. Michelle was trying (trying being the key word) to comb out the curls in Rhys' beautiful purple hair. After a time, perhaps out of frustration, or just because he is comfortable around Michelle like no other, his cute rat-feet start reaching up and gently rubbing at her back. It's only then that she remembers they're RIGHT there.... RIGHT behind her, and decides that maybe a break to enjoy them might not be such a bad thing. The awesome expressions of her surprise, and then her absolute enjoyment of those cute feet are what make this picture so pawesome to me because it's just so simple, and SO a paw-thing for anyone who loves them.

1st pic: Kayroo (owned by Caticus) gets the lucky opportunity to mate with Sera. Gorgeous job by BC (as usual) in all the incredible detailing on Kayroo. Look at that face! What an intense, awesome grin. Sera meanwhile is appropriately overwhelmed by her male companion, and the inverted position offers up one amazing view of her famous footpaws. The left footpaw in particular is just.... WOW. :3
2nd pic: Fenrir gets to fill the beautiful little dragonness up with some charr-love this time, and.... yes, Sera is actually that stretchy, though even she looks to be having some trouble with the charr's huge knot. Really awesome picture for the paws, of course, in that we get a great view of Sera's splayed toes on both footpaws. Can't you just see those toes splaying wider and wider as he presses her down? Also a nice view of Fenrir's feet too!

The lovely Beatrice, showing one of her dancer type poses while laying down in a very pretty setting. Beatrice is another lovely model find from Fotografo's travels who has very beautiful feet. This particular pose sure is nice for how it shows them both in the same type of pose, but from very different angles. Her left foot shows off a beautiful arch along with a shapely heel and nice toes. The right foot though is the real jewel here with a beautiful, wrinkled sole that cups so perfectly in the ball of her foot with the toes scrunched around it - just like she's inviting a curious nose or lips to explore it. :3 Very, very nice.

TGIF June 12th Paw-Mail! (journal copy)
Posted 10 years ago*growf*Oooh my... what a morning and day in general. Normally mornings, particularly Fridays, are pretty laid back things where I work. For whatever reason, this morning was certainly not. Multiple critical problems and page-outs happened all morning long, which saw me make multiple trips to the backup data centre in the StvH building. It kept me so busy that I did not have time to even open this and resume work on it until after lunch! Then the afternoon had nine more interruptions/issues come up that kept delaying this Paw-Mail. Oi.
That said, I try to get the Paw-Mail's out in the morning on Tuesdays and Fridays, but as has now happened a few times, things can go awry and cause delays, so from now on, I'll just say that I will TRY to get them out in the morning, and failing that, the afternoons so I won't post any more delay notices unless for some oddball reason it runs into the evening (which hopefully never happens).

I only recently stumbled upon Lunalei, and when asking her if it was okay to post her commission info a few paw-mails ago, we got into a brief dialog, and I asked if she'd be okay with an artist highlight - and she said yes! So, gave her some questions and these are the answers! Enjoy.
(TC) What sort of interest in footpaws do you have (if any)?
(Lunalei) I don't have any special interest in them aside of making them look visually appealing.
(TC) What type of commentary do you like on your work? What sort of comments do you not like, or don't want (say, creepy comments or whatever)?
(Lunalei) Like anyone else I'm happy to see people enjoy my artwork. I'll participate in little discussions, be it question or silly remark. If it's too creepy or exceptionally awkward to the point I got no reply I'll probably let it be.
(TC) Do you have anything you'd like to personally say to the folks in the Paw-Mail?
(Lunalei) Even though I don't specialise/focus on feet, I do hope you can take some enjoyment of what I do.
(TC) What is your favourite sort of commission or drawing challenge to get?
(Lunalei) I think my favourite character type to draw would be dragons lizards and all that bunch : ) But I enjoy a big chunk of the work I'm given regardless of difficulty. Every now and then there is a piece that might be bit too ambitious, but it pushes me forward. Like exercising. You might not always enjoy it, but you'll be happy with the result and gained strengths.
(TC) Do you have any particular pet-peeves when it comes to drawing or working as an artist?
(Lunalei) Not enough communication from client's side which extends the work time. Forgetting to mention things they want included in artwork. I like to be fast and quote people correctly for what they ask of me. It's better for me and waiting customers, and cheaper for the client.

Oooh my - long have I loved Drip as a character. <3 She is incredibly gorgeous, has a beautiful shape and proportions to her, and of course, incredible, attractive footpaws. I also like that she's not shy about showing off those feet either... sometimes whether you like it or not! She often is seen with toe-rings (always sexy) and a variety of very transparent nylons. She's such a fun, surprising and playful character, so I just had to get around to asking Herro if I could feature her, and she said sure! So here's the responses from Herro about Drip.
(TC): Can you provide a quick sort of summary of who she is?
(Herro): Drip is basically a character who I made it cater directly to my own personal likes, and it turned out lot of people were really into her design! Specifically in mind I did design her to be a foot centric character, her feet take the longest in everything I draw because I am so stubborn about them looking good before moving on ;3;. At any rate, I draw her doing whatever crazy thing I would like to see, and people seen really okay with that, so as a character she's kind of taken on her own persona that people like a lot. I like that dynamic quite a bit with her that she's sort of just preforming for her fans.
(TC): We seem to see Drip as a macro sometimes - is that non-canon stuff, or is this a handy ability that she seems to have?
(Herro): It's technically non-canonical stuff for her to change sizes! But in the world she lives in it's not impossible for it to happen many ways, especially by accident!
(TC): How the heck did she end up with the name Drip Dry?
(Herro): Okay so basically I've always been pretty heavy into foot fetish stuff, and naturally I have lots of pairs of thigh high stockings. I knew I wanted drip to wear stockings a lot, and on the tag of a particular pair I had it said "Drip-Dry Only," i thought the correlation was cute! So I went it it. XD
(TC): How is Drip into footpaws; she seems to like letting (or forcing) others to experience hers, but does she like paws in return as well?
(Herro): Drip LOVES getting her paws tended to, for willing and no so willing bottoms, though she is also not at all advesre to staring at paws herself, she's fond of really big paws the most!
(TC): So when Drip finds some paws she enjoys, what does she most like doing with them and are paws her primary kink (aka, pawsexual) or just one of many strong ones?
(Herro): Her primary kink is licking and sniffing scent play sort of stuff! And paws are very high up there among many that she appears to enjoy. XD
(TC): She again seems to imply she likes letting or making others experiences her feet. Does she like it and can she explain why?
(Herro): She does like some scent play, though nothing too dangerous XD Think of the just finished work, stockings and heels on all day, sort of warm, damp, musk. Not overpowering! But identifiable. Sticking them in someone's face is just the cutest barely uncomfortable torture! It's a bit of a powertrip. uwu
(TC): What does Drip think of that scent herself - like it, hate it (IE, just likes using hers on others)?
(Herro): She loves her own scent! And isn't afraid to shove her feet right into peoples noses if she gets the chance.
(TC): Drip seems to have a super-easy-going personality; has she always been that way?
(Herro:) She actually used to be a lot more hardcore XD I guess with me growing up out of my angry teen years, she did as well.
(TC): Now that's really cool - having her change and grow as you do. :) Of course, that begs another follow up question; how long as Drip been around as a character then?
(Herro): Drip has been around since late 2005! So nearly a decade! Gosh that's been a while haha. @w@
(TC): What are some of Drip's favourite things to do?
(Herro): Drip is basically someone who lived a great young life, and so now that she's older she's bored with most things. So she likes trying new things to keep it interesting! Though a particular favorite passion of Drip is eating, and trying new foods, she's a bit of a foodie hobbyist! Especially when it comes to chasing particular eating challenges.
(TC): She doesn't seem the least bit shy about being nude (or partially so) around folks - is that just what she's like?
(Herro): That's just what she's like! if she could be naked in every setting, she probably would be!
(TC): If Drip could say something to all the folks that admire her and/or her footpaws, what would it be?

Posted 10 years ago*growf*JUNE! Cripe, this year's just flying by. And another late paw-mail. Once again, I didn't have a lot of time to work on it until this morning. So another sort of FYI to mention about the paw-mails - sometimes folks ask why a certain picture isn't in them. Well first off, I may be good at spotting paws on FA, DA, and other sites, but I'm by no means all-seeing, so I miss plenty! Sometimes it's as simple as that. Other times it comes down to this being a list of footpaw/feet pictures that I personally thought were good, so adding a personal preference to it does make it a much more picky list given I'm pretty choosy. There are some personal turn-offs as well that can automatically disqualify a picture from my wanting to put it on the list. For example - paws that are semen-covered = NOPE! While NSFW stuff is pretty common in these Paw-mails, I actually prefer (when possible) tame versions of pictures over NSFW because the focus is (and should be) the paws more so that what else is being shown. If there is a more naughty version, I'll usually mention such in the description. Sometimes it can also come down to the style of the foot - if it's a very human-style foot, then I tend to hold it to my ridiculously high standards where only about 5% of human feet are nice, so most of those don't make it. Or if the drawing style is overly sketchy/rough, then again it's not really a good enough quality picture for the list. So... again, this is all personal preference on my part. So if you do wish to submit (e-mail or PM or whatever) some potential things for the list, go for it! Just understand I may or may not add them depending on whether I feel they're up to par for the sort of thing that this list includes. :)

TGIF May 29th Paw-mail! (journal copy)
Posted 10 years ago*growf*Hoi... what a week. I had to do a crazy routing core upgrade at the campus which was at 1:00am Thursday morning. So... sleep schedule's a wee bit messed up now. The upgrade went okay in the end, but it took 5x longer than it was supposed to and that it had in all of our test runs. I tell ya... it's an eerie feeling when you knock out the whole university for over 25 minutes (like, all 6000+ phones, all servers, all Network access - everything). But... such is life today - everything is part of the "network" now, for better or worse. :/ At least we still maintain walkie-talkies to communicate with each other and campus police - they were about the only thing still working.
I have a neat Artist Highlight today in that the artist speaks French primarily, and her English was very bad. As Canadian, I had to learn French in school, so I have some ability to speak/read/write it, so with a little translator help I was still able to get the ball rolling, and then a BIG thank-you to ShadowWolf for helping to clear up some of the translation problems and confirm that I had gotten at least a good bit of mine right (and some very wrong). XD With his help, we were able to get a cool highlight posted in which I'll share both my English and her original French answers to the questions.
Also, a second thanks to Shadow for also contributing some additional links to the Paw-Mail - the last 5 image links are from him. :) Again, if any of you guys find something that you think I may have missed, e-mail, PM or Skype me about it so it can be added to the paw-mail if appropriate!
Also, total non-paw-related sidenote, but Kung Fury has been released. It's a freaken amazing Kickstarter-backed movie set in ridiculous over-the-top 80s action movie style that is a huge tribute to silly, stupid 80s action flicks on VHS tapes. As a Gen-Xer, this was a hilarious trip down memory lane, and so fun to watch. I was one of many, many people who backed this cool project. If you haven't seen it yet, have a look:

Why: Renki has some incredibly nice looking footpaws! I stumbled upon Volac's awesome art when finding some great Charr pieces, though charr aren't the only thing she does! Her art covers a lot of different species and situations, and seems to include quite a lot of paw-oriented stuff. When I contacted her about being a highlight artist, she was interested, but felt her English was a problem, so I switched to French! Though I'm sure I did a rather clunky job of it as my French is not so great, it was a fun way to practice it and a nice way to get to know Volac a bit better. So... I'll post the questions I asked below in English along with an English version of her answer, then her original answer in French for those who can read it:
(TC): What sort of interest in footpaws do you have (if any)?
(Volac): J'aime les dessiner pour leurs formes et tout le coté musculeux mais avant tout, j'adore tripoter des coussinets. Je trouve ca tout mignon et delicat. (Oui, mon chat me hait pour ca)
She answered that she enjoys drawing them; the general lines, contours and musculature of them. She also said she loves to touch paw-pads - finds them cute and tender, which her cat is none too happy about. XD
(TC): What type of commentary do you like on your work? What sort of comments do you not like, or don't want (say, creepy comments or whatever)?
(Volac): J'apprecie qu'on me dise que mon travail et bon et les critiques (bonnes ou mauvaises) si elles sont constructives. Selon le dessin, avoir des retours a caractere sexuel devient vite genant mais c'est supportable. En general, les seuls commentaires qui m'insupporte sont reellement ceux pour troller mais ça...
She responds saying that she likes comments on the work along with criticism, good or bad, as long as it's constructive. She finds comments of a sexual nature to be something that quickly get annoying, but is still okay with them. She really just hates it when people are being trolls and non-supportive.
(TC): Do you have anything you'd like to personally say to the folks in the Paw-Mail?
(Volac): Aimez les pattes et les pattes vous aimeront? Ca fait slogan politique ou pour yaourt bio... Et vu que la question precedente etait sur les commentaires, j'ai envie de dire "hesitez pas a donner votre avis à un artiste, c'est souvent plaisant et ca permet parfois meme d'evoluer" ;)
Heh, a bit of word play here in her answer in that she says "Love the paws and they'll love you?" Which she says sounds like the catch-phrase of an organic yogourt advertisement. :P She also says that you should consider giving your thoughts (via commentary) to artists; it often helps with learning/progress!
(TC): What is your favourite sort of commission or drawing challenge to get?
(Volac): C'est assez varié et selon le moment. C'est aussi pour ça que je choisis un theme tous les mois que je met en promotion :p En mai, c'etait les charrs, j'ai ete servie! Y'a des passades et c'est sans doute pas plus mal comme ca. En ce moment, j'ai une furieuse envie de faire du Taur (centaur, ...) partout!
She says that the answer varies. It's why she chooses to have a "theme" for a month. So for May it was charr, and she did really well with it. She mentions she has a desire to try doing taur next (as in Centaurs) (says taur everywhere!). Heh.
(TC): How did you start drawing, and when/where/how did that end up leading you to the furry fandom?
(Volac): Je dessinne depuis que je suis gamine et c'etait principalement des animaux à cette epoque. Quand je me suis mis à dessiner des humains, le melange s'est fait automatiquement pour obtenir de l'anthromorphisme. J'ignorais encore l'existence d'un fandom Furry à l'epoque et c'est plus ou moins au fil de mes explorations sur internet que j'ai fini par le découvrir vers mes seize ans. Je l'ai cotoyé de loin pendant longtemps avant qu'on me decide à venir à une furmeet. Et à partir de là ...
She says she started drawing when she was a kid. It started as animals and humans, and later she began to combine them into anthropomorphs. She started lurk around the fandom around age 16, then someone invited her to go to a furry meet and she got more into it - pretty much goes from there!
(TC): Do you have a particular favourite sort of footpaw to draw, and why is that?
(Volac): J'ai definitivement une preference pour les pattes felines et canines et tout ce qui a des coussinets. Dans une certaine mesure, j'apprecie etrangement de dessiner des sabots. Ce qui me pose le plus de souci, ca reste les reptiles et pire encore, les avians.
Here she says that she prefers to draw felines and canine legs and footpaws most. She also says she "strangely appreciates" doing hooves. The ones she finds challenging are reptiles and (worse so) avians.
(TC): Do you have any sort of advice for anyone who would like to take up drawing (like where to start, or something that is helpful)?
(Volac): Pratiquer, pratiquer, pratiquer, ne pas se decourager, pratiquer!
(almost doesn't need translation, but... ) "Practice, practice, practice, don't get discouraged, practice!"
(TC): Do you have any particular pet-peeves when it comes to drawing or working as an artist?
(Volac): La perspective... les poses en perspective sont souvent horribles à faire. Ca demande de l'entrainement. Et les décors compliqués tout simplement. Autant j'arrive à passer du temps sur un personnage, autant ca va vite m'agacer si je dois passer trois heures sur un element de decoration.
She dislikes pictures with complex perspective - it requires a certain skill and training. She also doesn't like pictures with complicated scenery or complex details, giving the example that if she spends more than three hours just trying to do scene details she gets quickly annoyed.
And there you have it! Posted 10 years ago*growf*Oi... another late paw-mail, sorry about that guys. I didn't have time to work on this one at all until this morning, so... not so easy once at work. Paw-mails generally require 2+ hours so if I don't get a chance to compile the thing in the days leading up to it, it can be tricky.
Now, a note on paw-mail/journal content; sometimes there are pictures that you might not see on here that were done by artists who usually do appear on the paw-mail. There can be a couple reasons for that to keep in mind. One is to remember that this is a list based on my personal picks - sometimes there are things that just ruin a picture for me, so it may be a reason to excuse it from the list. Another is that the artist and/or the commissioner has requested that the image not appear here. No matter how good the image may be, I will not post anything an artist or image-owner does not want here, and will remove a link if I linked one and find out after the fact. Why: This picture is just stunning. For the obvious pawesome stuff; a sexy guy (yes, Ainhanda is actually a guy) offering his attractive footpaw all warm and nice from his shoe to be nuzzled and loved is just.... YAY! I would so, so love to be in the other guy's place. Beyond that, this picture is incredible for detail! Check out how accurately Iskra did all the lighting work (from the screen, and from the windows), and how detailed everything is. Even though they're almost shadowed away, even the footpaws of the other character are very detailed and given a bit of light for a highlight. I asked if she used a reference for the lighting, and she said nope! Wow. Also... crazy computer doll = win.

Another wonderful set from Footografo. These are of a model who goes by Angel. Once again, he's got a great eye for nice feet, and these are all taken from a wonderful underside view and show three different poses - relaxed, toe-scrunched, and toe-splayed, each with two or three differently distanced shots. I would have to say my favourite would be the last one - the close up of the splayed toes for how wonderfully it wrinkles and details her sole and toes. :3 That is a show I could watch for hours.

Loki is a character that I'm sure you've seen by now if you like paws! Often seen in a fine suit with a purple tie (bare-pawed, of course), Loki is a very unique looking character with some gorgeous footpaws. A little question session with the sexy wolf turned out the following commentary, so enjoy!
Commenting on Images: "As far as commenting on my images goes, I love getting comments! Just all I ask is people are respectful in the comments, keep things fairly clean (unless it's an NSFW image then well.. it's NSFW!) but i like to keep my general pics clear of anything hinted towards a sexual nature. (TC) We often see Loki dressed in a really sharp suit, but bare-pawed (a HUGE personal fave). Has this just always been the way he tends to dress? Or is there a story behind it?
(Loki) Well now, the suit kinda came along late-ish after Loki was introduced. After playing Uncharted 3 and seeing the very first level has you running around in (guess what) A suit, it kinda caught my eye just how good it looked so i decided to try it out on Loki and give it a little twist, hence the grey shirt and purple tie. And boy did it work! and of course leaving him bare pawed was the only option there :P couldn't have those pads of his hidden!
(TC) Given that sharp business attire, does Loki ever find himself using those cute footpaws of his to tease others in the work place?
(Loki) Oh plenty of times to his co-workers~ the amount of times a simple job of propping them up on the desk, giving the toes a light flex and a wiggle has gotten me out of doing a job.. i've lost count!
(TC) Loki also has the rather unique feature of feathers on his head - is there any story behind those?
(Loki) The head feathers! good question.. and don't tug em! friggen hurts if you do it *grumbles* But anyway! When i was designing Loki with an artist who was working on my ref, i wanted him to be simplistic but unique in his own way, hence the simple fur patterns. When it came to his head instead of just having cheek floof, i wanted something a little different and feathers came to mind! after seeing them drawn on the initial sketch i fell in love with them, never changed them since :)
(TC) What would you say Loki's favourite thing is about footpaws (texture, warmth, fur, scent, etc)?
(Loki) Now that.. is a tricky one. I'm pretty much a fan of almost anything except scent and stomping, those two make me lose interest fast. Otherwise i love em! Something about seeing them from the soles, seeing the fur all over em, spotting the unique pads on them, be them a standard pink to something completely unique and eye catching like a glowing green! Makes me wanna give a rub to the soles and a nuzzle or lick or two at the pads and toes ;P what can I say, i'm a sucker for a good show off.
(TC) Another thing we tend to see a lot is Loki falling victim to some merciless tickling; is that a particular kink of his, or is he just terribly unlucky?
(Loki) Tickling? *shudders a little but grins slyly* Heh well.. so long as this isn't going out to hundreds of watchers on FA. Oh it is? ...ah what the hell, it's a kink of mine! I've got absolutely no idea how, or why i got into it but something about it is a kink. One of my favourite activities when it comes to footpaws, though i know not to go overboard with it. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
(TC) Does he ever find his own footpaws to be a turn on?
(Loki) My own footpaws? A turn on? Wellll.. yep! I'd be lying if i said i didn't heh, i mean why spend ages browsing FA looking for a good paw pic when you can just lift up your own to a mirror and bam! good paws! .. that sounded arrogant i apologise *chuckles*
(TC) Ha, not arrogant if it's true! What does Loki do for a job?
(Loki) That.. is classified at the moment >.> <.< we'll go with "freelancing"!
(TC) How would Loki take a comment offered about his footpaws? Would he allow anyone a closer look?
(Loki) That depends entirely on the comment! if you could outspeak the silver tongued devil of a wolf that he is.. he might just let you get a little closer. And if you can outdo him again, you'll even get lucky enough to have a lick at his blueberry pads, better start workin' on those speeches!

So, tomorrow is "Paw Day" - and some might wonder why I'm not making a huge hoopla over it. As a pawsexual, every day is sorta paw-day to me, so to me, the day is more like the one day other people in the fandom go "oh yeah, paws are a thing." :P It does, at least, result in a surge of nice paw-related works, though sometimes can also result in a drought of paw-images for a while. Let's hope not!

I can personally vouch for her quality and abilities as I've gotten a number of pieces from her (one will be in the up-coming story I'm doing that releasing with charr, and Sera's dragon character). 2nd pic: Yikes... now there's a situation that the dude is probably asking himself "how did this happen!?" Definitely kinky, but does offer a nice view of his paws in two distinctly different poses. The left footpaw is a nice one in particular with how the outer toes are clenching in a bit (gee... can't imagine why). XD

So, tomorrow is "Paw Day" - and some might wonder why I'm not making a huge hoopla over it. As a pawsexual, every day is sorta paw-day to me, so to me, the day is more like the one day other people in the fandom go "oh yeah, paws are a thing." :P It does, at least, result in a surge of nice paw-related works, though sometimes can also result in a drought of paw-images for a while. TGIF May 15th Paw-Mail! (journal copy)
Posted 10 years ago*growf*G'day all! Paw-mail before the Victoria Day long weekend in Canada. Weather doesn't look all that great, but hey - a day off is still a good thing).
Apologies again for another late paw-mail too; while I worked at this for more than 2 hours this morning, I got a late start and had a lot of interruptions, then meetings kick in, and it ends up getting later and later. :/
So, a few months ago I mused the idea of possibly having a "favourite" picture link in each paw-mail. I've resisted on the premise that I really don't like picking/playing favourites (hence why I don't have favourites on my account), but then... this list itself is sort of a listing of favourites. I've also had folks suggest that I have such a thing just 'cause it would be interesting. So, starting today, I'm going to have a "Most Pawesome!" section (props to
FuzzyPaws for inventing that word) which will highlight the picture I feel does the best job of being really amazing in terms of nailing the most things paw-sexuals and/or paw-lovers enjoy. And today, that was NO easy task because there are several pictures in this particular Paw-Mail that do just that (and they're all charr-related, go figure). So the way it'll work is that I'll post it at the top of the list after the Legend. Basically, treat it like a "If there is just ONE picture you have to see today, it's this one." kinda thing. And along with the usual description, I'll try to explain why it got the Most Pawesome spot.I don't have any commissions, cool stuff or fur-in-need to add to this one, so off we go!

Fenrir-the-charr)Why: Because Charr. Also because this picture really nails a lot of elements of being a pawsexual, great emotional portrayal, and super-accurate character design. BlackChaos does charr astonishingly well, and while not into paws himself, he is VERY good at drawing them. When Sera saw his picture of Aurora, she wanted to see if the owner would be okay with getting a picture of the little blue dragon very happily (and hotly) lost in tasting those huge, smooth pads, and this was the result! So charr-wise, Aurora looks amazing - gorgeous proportion and detail for every part of her, and of course those huge footpaws look incredible. Big shapely toes, and a huge smooth ballpad for Sera's needy tongue to hungrily lap at. Sera herself looks pretty amazing too, and that's another nice charm of this. Her body type is certainly uncharr-like, but BC still nailed it, putting her in a very nice pose that really shows the nice back and her gentle curves, while hinting at her breast, and showing off one of her own extremely nice footpaws. Also nice in the pose is how Aurora is resting her right footpaw over Sera - a very gentle way of holding her, and it adds nicely to the intimacy. Lastly, there's the emotion that really works in this too. Sera is just lost in what she's doing - flushed with colour eyes locked on that smooth, huge pad before her and snout wedged into that warm fur between Aurora's two centre toes. Aurora herself seems to have a bemused smile - partly torn between it maybe tickling a bit, and/or being more of a turn on that she thought it might be. So yeah... this picture just nails it in every way!

A fellow Canadian and Ontarian, Anyare's beautiful work is fantastic. She draws exceptionally nice paws and puts wonderful emotion into her pictures no matter what the content. :) As per usual, I sent a list of questions to her and she was kind enough to answer all of them! So here we go:
Q. What sort of interest in footpaws do you have (if any)?
"I find them interesting and fun to draw, and people seem to enjoy when I draw them and that makes me happy!"
Q. What type of commentary do you like on your work? What sort of comments do you not like, or don't want (say, creepy comments or whatever)?
"I very much like any comment, no matter how short or simple it is! I like when people take the time to comment as I know it can get very hectic and I don't always get a chance to comment back. I do however prefer "creepy" comments to be kept to themselves because most of my work posted is commission work and I know it can make the commissioners feel uncomfortable."
Q. Do you have anything you'd like to personally say to the folks in the Paw-Mail?
"I hope you enjoy my paw-themed work and I know there will be more coming in the future! :)"
Q. How did you start drawing, and when/where/how did that end up leading you to the furry fandom?
"I've always been interested in drawing and love animals. So naturally I just loved drawing animals and animal characters and it just led me here :D"

"I like drawing canine and feline paws."

Tues. May 12th Paw-Mail! (journal copy)
Posted 10 years ago*growf!*Hey all! So this was a busy but productive weekend for me, and very cool. On Saturday, my mate and I went out kayaking, and this was a lot of firsts:
* First time using the new vehicle to transport the boats (worked great)
* First time out for 2015 (late start this year)
* First time for my mate since her hip replacement!
That last one is the biggie; the last time she went out was late September in 2013 when she realized her hip was getting too bad to go out anymore. She wasn't able to get in her boat for 2014, and had the replacement surgery in Nov. of 2014. So it was amazing to see her back at it and enjoying herself again. She did great - getting in and out on shore was a bit tricky, but basically down to relearning how to do it with the new hip. Been debating whether I should post some pics or not - kinda been hesitant about posting RL stuff on here.
Anyway, after that was off to my folks place for Mother's Day. They're a 3 hour drive away from us, so the round trip plus the visit makes for a pretty full day.
Alright, so I think for this and future Paw-Mail (journal, thingies) I'm going to add in an Open For Commissions section to give people a heads-up of artists I know who are looking to get some commission work (and of course who also happen to draw great feet/paws). Better than putting that sort of thing under a Fur-In-Need banner. So, with that said, here we go:

Posted 10 years ago*growf*Happy Friday everyone! Apologies for the very late paw-mail today; this morning was just non-stop stuff and it was very hard getting time to finish it up. Normally I have most of it done by Thursday, but yesterday was even worse - botched upgrade to a VSS pair of Cisco Catalyst 6509e's thanks to a bug in their firmware that bricked one of the fibre modules. Non-tech version: Bad code made expensive routers (and 3000+ phones, 200 servers and a variety of other things on campus) go boom. Yay IT work!
Will be attempting some kayaking tomorrow if the weather holds out - it'll be my mate's first return to it since her surgery, also the first time strapping the boats to the new vehicle, so hopefully all goes well.

Greer is a character and person I've come to know very well! An anthropomorphic rock python with some very potent feet, Greer's impressive speed and power is often found at work protecting the rare animals of a number of the Earth's Savannahs - and his method of dolling out justice usually involves those big feet of his.
As a character, Greer has four-toed footpaws that are a light cream-white colour on the bottom and transition more to the typical rock python colouring on the tops, with charcoal black toeclaws and talons. Earlier designs of the character had three-toed feet, but from about a year ago forward it's been four toes. The sole has ventral-style plating that runs from side to side, which transitions to a scaled top.
Those toes, and those feet in general, are thickly scented; and very artfully so. Greer and I share a very similar appreciation for scent, in that it must be something carefully nurtured along, aged like a fine wine. As such, he keeps his feet very clean, never letting them get contaminated by exterior influences - just time, and a clean pair of favourite boots or sneakers. ;) They are something loved by his friends, and equally feared by his enemies (... and maybe some friends, heh).

Q. What is Greer's background/story?
"Greer was born in the Namibian savannah as a feral rock python. When and how he turned into an anthro snake is a bit mysterious, as Greer himself doesn't know anything about it other than "it happened". What can be said is that Greer must have lived as a feral snake for around 10 years and was obviously fully grown up with a size between 9 and 13 ft. He found shelter in a small native's village where he met a female nature conservationist from Germany, which is why he's quite proficient in the German language. He currently works for the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in Kenya, using his snakey skills in the battle against poachery."
Q. What sort of commentary do you prefer on images of him?
"I don't have any preferences. I mean, each comment stands for its own and will tell a lot about the poster, so it's really up to you. Though... if you can keep it clean and friendly, I will simply love you for that."
Q. Greer clearly enjoys forcing his feet upon others, whether for punishment or reward, but how much does he appreciate feet himself?
"A lot, honestly. Greer's really into scent, enjoying the scent of his own or other feet... as long as it's not over the top. He also likes having someone under his feet, feeling his feet being sniffed, warm breath blowing against his soles and toes, all that. That's why he can enoy both: using his feet as "weapons" against his victims as well as having some playful fun with them and someone else. But he's also quite eager to "explore" other's feet as well, sniffing, feeling and massaging them. While he may have quite a "brutish" appearance, one would be surprised how gentle he can be when dealing with feet. At least the above mentioned German nature conservationist, Indra Bachmann, stated that no one ever gave her such a long and soothing foot massage as Greer did."
Q. What sort of feet or footpaws does Greer like best (ie, human female, anthro feline male, etc.)?
"While Greer has a preference for plantigrade anthro footpaws, he can enjoy humanoid feet, too. Gender is unimportant here. If your feet are nice and bare, he will be quite interested in seeing them from a bit (read "much") closer. And if your feet are in some nice boots, sneakers or sneaker-like shoes, it will be a bonus."
Q. Is there anything that Greer is afraid of?
"Loosing his anthropomorphic self. Greer began his life as a feral snake that somehow turned into an anthropomorphic being. With Greer having no idea of how that happened exactly, his biggest fear is that, whatever made him anthro, might happen again... with him suddenly turning feral again. And that's something he absolute doesn't want to happen, as he wouldn't only lose his feet, but also those humans he meanwhile made friends with... and who mean a lot to him."
Q. Why does Greer often wear black t-shirts with metal bands on them?
"That's because I like wearing such shirts in RL, and Greer's shirts always have coverart of albums on them that I do own in RL, too. So by looking at his shirts you know what CDs I have. ; D
Meanwhile I am not even sure anymore whether or not Greer really likes that music. While he would definitely be able to cope with some bands, there's also a lot of stuff I am into where he would definitely just shake his head. I guess that is the RL side within me that often asks "Why the hell am I listening to this?""

Tues. May 5th Paw-Mail! (journal copy)

Yar, on the weekend I got my Rhino 580 saddles (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images.....5L._SY355_.jpg) which fit into the channels in my Soul's roof racks so that I can mount out kayaks on it. So we're all set to go on adventures again. And on that note, there was a very happy moment this weekend; my mate was able to easily get into her kayak.
Sounds like no big deal, but a year ago, prior to the hip surgery, she knew she needed the surgery and her right hip was failing badly. Nonetheless, she wanted to kayak very much, and asked if I could take her boat down (a Seaward Cosma: http://www.seawardkayaks.com/produc.....ibre_cosma.php) and see if she could get in it. She struggled in pain for a couple minutes, trying various ways of trying to get in first without help, then with my help, and finally managed to get into the cockpit. Every bit of it was a painful experience and she realized there was just no way she could do it anymore. She just asked very sadly "I just want to sit in my boat a little while before I get out." Just... enjoying the feel of being in it because she knew that'd be it.
It was a question she asked a lot leading up to the surgery and after - "will I be able to kayak again?" And doctors kept reassuring her she could. Looking on the Internet though (always a dangerous thing to do), she saw success stories, and she saw a lot of horror stories too, so she always remained kinda worried. This weekend, she asked again if I could take her boat down. This time, she popped into the cockpit in just seconds, and was sitting fine. Oh gods, what a tear-jerking, wonderful moment to see she could do it again! So... we're all set for some new adventures this year. :)

Posted 10 years ago*growf!*May!! I like May... it's the month when the weather can finally be counted on as being more warm than not (at least in Ontario), and you can start going out without bundling up so much. ^_^ Also is when I can start getting in more kayaking trips.
QUESTION FOR YA'LL: I try to write a little comment in with each picture post, but I feel they're getting kinda of repetitive. The biggest value of these paw-mails (at least I think) is stuff like the highlights, fur-in-need, cool-stuff and so on, not really the commentary under the links. I doubt everyone even reads it all that much! So, would you guys be okay if I just posted links, or do you like the commentary? I just don't want to waste anyone's time!

Eske (her character name) was one of those artists who was a joy to stumble upon because of the quality of her work, and how often it features paws or is just straight up a paw-oriented piece. Her work is beautifully detailed and is often the sort of thing that is just pure uplifting and makes you smile. I approached her about a feature in the paw-mails, and oh my goodness... she did not disappoint! Her response "Ohhh my gosh, I am so excited to get this email! You have no idea how much this made my day. <3 I would definitely love to be a part of this!" Q. What sort of interest in footpaws do you have (if any)?
"I absolutely adore drawing footpaws, and I love looking at them. There's something about a nicely drawn pair of feet that's just so addictive!"
Q. What type of commentary do you like on your work? What sort of comments do you not like, or don't want (say, creepy comments or whatever)?
"I really love all types of commentary on my work. Naturally the happy, friendly, casual comments are my favorites, but I do also enjoy a bit of criticism! I don't really like receiving comments which are sexually explicit toward me (the artist). I'm okay with pretty much anything else, I'm pretty laid back."
Q. Do you have anything you'd like to personally say to the folks in the Paw-Mail?
"I'd like to say, you guys rock! :) I'm always so happy to see paw-themed newsletters and groups. <3"
Q. How did you start drawing, and when/where/how did that end up leading you to the furry fandom?
"I've been drawing in general since I was a kid, like so many others! I started drawing professionally in 2010. In the late 90's/early 2000's I loved roleplaying as horses and wolves. I was part of a neopets RP guild for a while, and from there I was introduced to Goldenwolfen's gorgeous art. I was an instant fan. I found a little chat group on deviantart, and ended up hanging out there for several years. Eventually I was persuaded by a friend to create a FurAffinity account, and I registered under my previous name, electropanda. I guess the rest is history!"
Q. Do you have a particular favourite sort of footpaw to draw, and why is that?
"I adore big floppy tiger paws (or any other big cat), they are seriously the best things ever. <3 Oddly enough, when it comes to smaller paws, I prefer canine over feline. I think it's because they're still kind of floppy and soft, whereas small feline paws are more dainty and compact. I definitely prefer plantigrade paws over digitigrade, with big soft paw pads. <3"
Q. Does your interest for footpaws (if you have one, that is), spill over into real life and humans? Explain.
"My relationship with human feet is life-long and a little confusing. It's not really a sexual thing for me -- but at the same time, it can be. I always noticed girls' feet when they wore flip flops at school, and I remember feeling a little shocked that they could expose themselves like that and not get in trouble. I don't know why, but I have always loved feet. Especially female feet. They're just so graceful and nicely shaped and... ah!
When it comes to animal paws, its more like a fascination. I call it my 'nonsexual fetish'. :) Have you ever sniffed the bottoms of a dog's paw? There's nothing sexual about it for me, but it smells so good! Maybe it sounds incredibly weird, but you paw-sniffers out there know what I mean!
I hadn't ever thought of myself as a 'foot fetishist' until very recently. I always sort of assumed that everyone loved feet as much as I did, but it slowly dawned on me over the years that this wasn't at all the case... I had to admit to myself that I really, really love feet (and paws) and that was just something that's a part of who I am. My husband thinks it's funny, because he's known all along, even before I did (he tends to do that).
Needless to say, yes, feet/paws are definitely a big part of my everyday life, haha!"
Q (follow up to previous): If you wanna explain further in what ways it's a big part of everyday life, go for it!
"I make a living full time off of commissions, and a lot of them are often paw related, which is really fun, so I'm drawing paws a lot on a day to day basis. When I'm drawing art for myself, it's usually got something to do with paws. On a more personal level, I'm always barefoot, if I can help it -- I just love feeling the world with my feet, and having them out in the open! I even have a paw tattoo on my wrist! I stuck my pup's foot in ink and pressed it onto paper, and then had that tattooed exactly onto my left wrist. <3"
Q. What is your favourite sort of commission or drawing challenge to get?
"I LOVE getting romantic couple commissions. I'm such a softie, I just melt. And when paws are involved too, it's just the best thing ever!"
Q. Do you have any sort of advice for anyone who would like to take up drawing (like where to start, or something that is helpful)?
"Draw every day, and post what you draw. The more you do it, the easier it gets (and that goes for both parts!). If you don't feel like you draw well, draw more. If you're terrified to post your art, post it anyway. Eventually both of these things become second nature, and you've got yourself a nice habit going!"

TGIF April 24th Paw-Mail! (journal copy)
Posted 10 years ago*growf*Happy Friday folks! A neat day today; the 25th Anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope. Being old as dirt, I remember the years leading up to launching the telescope and how much insane precision work was going into making it. I also remember the huge disappointment when they discovered a calculation error had resulted in the mirror being 2 microns off in its focus, resulting in blurred images. It ended up being a minor setback though as a mission soon after added hardware to correct the problem, and we have gotten thousands of the most incredible pictures of our universe since then. It allowed us to see better, further, than we ever had before. Also... I got my new vehicle! Traded in Silver (my 2003 Dodge Dakota) for a 2015 Kia Soul EX+ in Fathom Blue (which I just love the colour of). Ugh... well not quite an even trade there - I think Silver only paid for the wheels and a door handle of the Soul. :P Really enjoying it so far - I miss the roar of the V8, but I definitely don't miss the amount of gas consumed to make said roar. Now... hopefully I can enjoy a vehicle that's problem-free for a few years. :)
Also a BIG thank you to the folks who donated to
KaynusVulfe's "Furries for a Cure" cancer run - thanks to a bunch of paw-lovers, he was able to surpass his donation goals for the run. You guys are awesome!And, on with the paws!

Wow, two paw-mails in a row with human pics. Q. I know she's an android, and I believe she's fully synthetic, correct? Does she have an origin story as to where she came from, who made her, and why? How self-aware is she; as in, is she just like a living being in terms of emotional, will power and such? While obviously incredibly attractive, does she herself derive anything from being involved in any levels of intimacy with others? Does she have any hobbies? (can be as innocent or crazy as you want really - just trying to help explain who she is to folks).
"She is fully synthetic, but is able to synthesize edible bodily fluids. She was created as an experimental prototype by a yet to be determined scientist for a yet to be determined reason. She is completely self aware and completely in control of all of her emotions. Simply put, she can masterfully put on any front she needs to achieve her objective, or switch off her emotions when a situation calls for it. She favors logic over instinct, and tends to lag when presented with paradoxical statements. Philosophical statements bring no such errors. Diamond programmed herself to enjoy all intimate interactions with her partner, Turbo. She requests that no anal interaction be performed as that is were many of her direct ports are located and they are difficult to clean. Her hobbies include anything involving scientific experimentation and problem solving."
Q. Now, Diamond has insanely attractive footpaw. Yet... they are synthetic. For a paw-lower, would Diamond like having them, say, massaged or pampered? Would she ever let people lick, nuzzle or do anything more playful with them? And more importantly... what does she get out of that in terms of feelings or enjoyment? And for anyone who got to touch, or experience her footpaws, what are they even like? Soft smooth soles? Do they feel synthetic or natural? Are they warm at all, cold? As you can see, they're certainly interesting because of what she is. Lot of questions will no doubt be in folks minds about them.
"Diamond's paw type depends entirely on the artists' interpretations of her. Most artists draw her paws like Sine's, but she is a plantigrade character. Her pads tend to be rough and rubbery to better grip terrain. Should her lover desire some form of foot worship, she can swap out her paw pads for smooth ones. She can heat or cool them to suit any situation, both locomotive and intimate."
Q. Follow-up question; Is there a Diamond-prime? Like a Diamond that you would consider to be the most evolved or individual of the lot?
"Diamond is a unique entity that is completely self aware and constantly evolving and learning. She is capable of self upgrade and can replicate single cell reproduction should her lover desire. This scenario is a very complicated subject that I'm still working the kinks out of. She does, however, have some drones of herself that she has direct control over. She has no desire to duplicate herself in any manner, so her drones are less aesthetically pleasing and built for function over form."
Q. You say she programmed herself to enjoy interactions with her partner; after doing it for a time, has it become a more natural enjoyment that she has expanded on? Does she have unique reasons for enjoying it (IE, her sensations might be different or her take on such things could be uniquely different from an organic being)?
"Diamond genuinely enjoys her interactions with Turbo. Her brain, though synthetic, functions on similar synapses and impulses as organic brains. This allows her to feel the same emotions as organics, though she has the option of turning them off when she needs or desires to."
Q. So the paw-pads are interchangeable - do they have any feeling themselves, or is that limited to other parts of the foot? Like... for example, if Turbo gave her a paw-rub, what sort of sensations would she derive from it?
"Diamond can feel as much or as little as she wants in the entirety of her body. She has more sensors in the pad than the foot as the pad is what is touching the ground most of the time. Also, most all of Diamond's body parts are interchangeable. Should Turbo tickle her foot, she would giggle and try to make him stop. Should he rub and lick, she would derive the same pleasure as a foot massage."
Q. You mentioned single-cell production: Diamond she can basically host a fertile egg and carry it for some time? And the drones are an interesting notion too - what does she usually use them for?
"Correct. She can host a fertile egg and override the genetic code already present with one she can replicate on her own. She usually uses the drones for general heavy labor, security, or hazardous exploration where her original form may become compromised."

Help Kaynus in his "Furries for a Cure" run!
Posted 10 years agoMentioned in the paw-mails, but asking again here (and please rebroadcast this if you can!). KaynusVulfe is doing a run along with other furs in a "Furries for a Cure" run to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Kaynus lost his father to cancer, and it has been a serious plague to his family as well. I have lost aunts and uncles to it, and there are furries who have been directly affected by it as well - some who are fighting it, and some who have lost that battle. I know of two furs who passed away - age 19, and age 26. :(

Erf... late paw-mail today. Sorry about that guys - I usually try to get these posted up first thing in the morning at work (... ahhh, the open-access of universities), but I've had folks here all morning on a number of topics, so didn't get the chance to finish up until now.
Will be picking up the new vehicle tomorrow after doing up the paperwork on the weekend. One change from what I said before - switched to a Fathom Blue Kia Soul instead of the Onyx. They didn't have Onyx in stock, so would have had a pay an extra bit to get one, and wait longer, and once I saw the Fathom blue I really loved it - it's a super metallic paint that just sparkles in the light. >_> Ugh... and you know... dragons and sparkly things... it had me hooked. <_<

Stumbled upon these beautiful feet which belong to a model named Hanula. Very perfect proportions for the toe size, shape and such and gorgeous soles. TGIF April 17th Paw Mail! (journal copy)
Posted 10 years ago*growf*Half way through April already, sheesh. So tomorrow is a new adventure for me; getting a new car! I put a reservation on a 2015 Kia Soul EX+ 2.0L I4, Onyx black and will be heading in to sign the paperwork for the financing and stuff. Unless something goes horribly wrong, I should have it before the month's out. While it's a bit smaller than what I would prefer to have, we decided to opt for budget over size/power this time around as we need to still have left over money to put away each month. The Soul will replace my current vehicle - a 2003 Dodge Dakota Quad cab, 4.7L V8. The truck's in good shape, and has less than 140K on it, but holy crap... the thing's needed at least $8K in repairs over the 9 years I owned it. You might also remember I mentioned it had a break-down over the holidays when the crankshaft sensor failed. So... it's at that point where I would rather have something new, reliable, warrantied, and much, much easier on gas. Besides... the Soul is cool looking, and gets some impressive crash scores on www.iihs.org (the Dakota... it's sort of a death trap in an accident).
Also... as if the truck was sensing it's limited time, last night it popped on the check-engine light with the error cold P-0307: Cylinder 7 misfire. >_< Probably 'cause I was cleaning the engine and hosed it all down. *erases code* HAHA... nothing to see here. >_>
Anyway! I don't have any commission info or fur-in-need stuff for today, but I will give a heads up that April 20th is

No doubt by now if you've been following this mail/journal for a while, you've seen some of ZP92's stuff! He draws a wide variety of stuff, nearly always centred around feet or footpaws in some way, and has a particular talent for drawing some very lovely ladies. I asked him some questions as well as some optional ones and he answered them all, so here they are!
Q. What sort of interest in footpaws do you have (if any)?
"I don't have an exact interest in footpaws, but I do find them cute. I'm more of a humanesque foot type of person. When it comes to those types of feet, I'd draw accessories on them such as jewellery, or flip-flops because the foot is an accessory in itself."
Q. What type of commentary do you like on your work? What sort of comments do you not like, or don't want (say, creepy comments or whatever)?
"I enjoy comments that go along with the picture or helpful comments that tell me how I can improve. Comments that just say or show the downside I tend to ignore because it is a waste of time to read. I don't reply to creepy comments. I mean I'm glad you like it, but keep those comments to yourself please."
Q. What sort of feet or footpaws do you like best and why?
"I like as I said before, human-like soles. Feet that look human like, weather 4 or 5 toes, the shape is very curvy and very arousing ;) Plus it's fun to play with the variable sized toes!"
Q. Does your interesting feet/paws carry over into real life?
"Yes, I do love real life human female feet. That's why I draw soles as you seen me do, all my experience in drawing feet comes from real life female feet. Of course I'm not that creep that would go up to a lady and blunt out ask to lick her soles, that's just stupid and creepy."
Q. How long have you known you liked feet/paws?
"I've loved feet in general since I was a kid, I'll say 5 or 6 and as I grew and got to know the furry fandom, I got my love for feet paws at the beginning of my teen years "
Q. Do you have anything you'd like to personally say to the folks in the Paw-Mail?

Finally biked to work today! With the weather improving and a nice weekend I got the bike out of storage and got it all ready to go, then finally rode in today. Man, that first ride after winter (especially a long winter) is always hard. Feels good to be outside instead of cooped up in a vehicle cab though. Yay for spring!
I have no other sections to highlight at the start here, so off we go:

Yes... you read that right - Cari and Tag, two super awesome paw-artists, teamed up to make this whopper of an image! And in usual generous (and teasing) fashion, Tag posted a nice close up of the key paw scene. Pretty much everywhere you look there are nice footpaws in this along with a lot of great detail, creative bondage (and yes it was consensual), and the real charm is not just how Aero is enjoying that paw, but in how reverently he's holding it and is just SO into it. Awesome effort by both artists - hopefully not the only time we see a collaborative effort from these two ladies!

Mmm krogan lovin' with Wrex! You don't actually get to see nice krogan soles that much, and what a great way to show them off here with BigLovingWolf nestled so happily in those huge meaty soles. A nice view of his own soles too as Wrex tries him on for size. And yes, krogan have quad balls.
