Morning all! So good news at home - my mate's back home and doing as well as can be expected after a major surgery. Still very sore, but is moving about. So if I can offer y'all any good advice it would be this:

1) Hope your natural hips stay working all your life.

2) If #1 doesn't work out, then in the months leading up to your hip replacement surgery, work out your upper body until you're like a gymnast so you can haul yourself around easier - you'll need it!

So... Nurse ToeClaws (there's an image to cause nightmares) is home this week doing a lot of care for her, thus this is out a bit later than normal! Alrighty... let's get on with the paws for today. :)

For anyone wondering, my mate's hip-replacement surgery went very well yesterday. I was shocked it took only about 2 hours for the actual operation, if that. That's incredible - I was expecting a long, long wait. She's in the hospital until Sunday recovering. Thanks for all the well-wishes folks sent, that was very sweet of y'all, and she appreciated it!

I have once announcement to make as well; on Thursday, my mate goes in for hip replacement surgery in Chatham (about 110km from where I live). Artist Highlight: Laukka

I think Laukka's work stood out from the first time I saw it. He (at least I think it's a he, heh) does really gorgeous plantigrade style feet with well defined arches and wonderful line detailing around toes. The characters he draws have unique looks to them, and often some pretty amazing bodies too. What's nice is that there is a lot of variance in the archive, so whether it's large, three-toed type feet you like, or a more human-ish approach, you'll find something for both tastes. He's also great for posting more than one version of a picture too, again, awesome for catering to multiple tastes.

Welcome to the Paw-mail!

So... as this is the first sorta mass-mail one to more than original couple friends I was doing this for, I'll explain them a bit. These started as an idea Sarkiran had send some updates on nice paw pics 'cause sometimes it's hard to always spot them. I'm blessed to have a lot of privacy at work and home that allows me a bit more time than most to keep an eye out for good paw pics.

Now, pictures in these e-mails/journals won't be like EVERY paw pic out there since the last one - I can only share what I see, and I'm actually pretty choosy about what makes for a good foot/paw pic, so it's more like a list of the ones that I thought were the top picks out of the last few days.

The frequency of these also depends on two important things: 1) Enough nice footpaw links to justify sending one (so... 4 or 5 minimum), and 2) My having the time to do them. As such, I'd say you can expect a couple per week or as many as one per weekday! I don't don't do them on weekends.

Once and a while, I'll try to highlight a particular artist who happens to draw very nice paws - or in Tchai's case, render them. Tchai is a digital artist brought to my attention by EC Major. He produces gorgeous web comic called Anza, and also renders a number of pics on his Deviant Art account. He sometimes does ones that show off toes and soles very nicely - in fact... look closely at some of his comic comments (especially if I've commented) and you'll see he sometimes re-renders a scene to show the footpaws off specifically. ;) Very, very detailed work and a really creative sense of design with the comic:

For the last few months, I've been sending out some old-school paw-mails for a couple friends. Usually it's 3 or 4 of them a week of some of the best paw-pics I've found so that I can share'em with other paw-lovers who don't necessarily have as much time to hunt around for them. Another friend would like to start getting them as well, so that has me thinking - would you guys be interested if I started up a mailing list for them?

I try not to use my journals to broadcast constantly about people needing help because there are a lot of cases here on FA as well as friends and family doing donation drives and so on. I also have a mate with Lupus and a mother with MS. There are times though when folks really do just need some help - that extra little bit of cash to get them out of a situation that's hard because of their situations in life, and  aurabeedit is certainly in one right now.

She's done some art for me, and many others on here - super talented girl, amazing artist, and so, SO funny, yet, she is currently dealing with a ton of health problems. She lives in Portugal, and getting quality care there is not easy without the funds. On the advice of some of her friends, she has started a donation effort to help raise the cash to start on the right road to recovery. I've always found Aura to be an inspiration - despite all her issues, she puts out so much art, and so much good humour in it all, even with the bad.

If you can help her, please do - and remember you don't need to donate a ton. A hundred people donating a dollar is better than one person trying to donate $10. I find very often on FA (and other donation-related stuff) that there are SO many watchers of people, but the average number that actually help with a donation is less than 0.5% - let's try to do better than that for Aura!

I did a normal TMI thing last week - this week, gonna try something a bit different and centre it around kayaking. :3 It's a huge personal passion of mine (yes there is room in my life for more than just paws), and I've had a lot of furs ask about it privately, so maybe it's something y'all might want to learn more about it. :)

Oh man... now this I can certainly sympathize with as my own mate is currently waiting for hip replacement surgery on her right hip. I've seen her go through a lot of painful issues/injuries but nothing as much as the hip. I was really surprised to learn that  aggro_badger is in a similar boat, needing surgery to fix a problem with his hip.

Problem is, since Aggro lives in the USA, it costs money that he doesn't have. So I wanted to spread the word that he's running a donation campaign via Go Fund Me, or also by donations to his PayPal. Links and info on both can be found in his journal post:

So... I'm hoping that every fur knows of this short animated film. Made 10 years ago by Amadhia Albee ( Dreamsong), by herself, on one computer, it's a beautiful, soulful tale. I have shown it to furs and non-furs alike, and everyone loves it. If you've not seen it before... good gods, get a copy!

After I moved to Texas, she helped sneak me back into the high school prom later that year to surprise everyone. :)

Ehhh... varied - sometimes in the cafeteria, linking up GameBoys with friends for head to head Tetris games. Sometimes outside in the late spring, sitting with some awesome female friends. (That they were often in sandals which they took off helped.... murr).

St. Joseph's, though the move to Texas had me take one semester at Permian High.

I'll start with one I get asked about a lot: Pawjobs and why I don't like'em. Often people are surprised to find that out given how I'm this total pawsexual. As with any kink, each person that has it may have it in varied ways. For me, it's just not a turn on to see being done, or imagine being done to me. a) It's a waste of awesome footpaws, which I would MUCH rather have in my face, b) While yes I would be aroused, I can take care of that myself much better thank you. c) See point A. Simple as that. XD So yeah, TMI - got any other questions for me (don't have to be paw-related, or even anything adultish. Or furry).

Anyone that knows me probably knows I'm a big Pro-Wrestling fan, always have been. Yes... I know it's fake, but that's what makes it so entertaining; it's made to look brutal, but it's not. It's a story put into physical action, and maybe that's part of the lure.

I was shocked moments ago to read this morning that the Ultimate Warrior passed away a few hours ago. He was just inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday night, and addressed RAW's crowd on Monday night. I grew up watching him as a kid, and he was definitely one of my favourite wrestlers - so intense, powerful and entertaining to watch every time he stepped in the ring. The really sad thing is that he was only 54.

Godspeed Warrior - thanks for inspiring so many of us to be as intense at life as you were to entertain us.

... you should be as offended as I am when, in real life, orcas are captured and made to perform for people at places like Seaworld or Marineland. :/ California is proposing a bill that would ban the use of such animals for entertainment, and while it's not the international ban that needs to exist, it's at least a first step in the right direction. SumOfUs has a petition that's going in the hands of the folks pushing the bill through. Over 948K people have signed it already, and they're looking to get to 1 million strong (or more) to make it blatantly clear that people are against this ridiculous, out-dated mentality that it's okay to do this to sentient, intelligent other creatures purely for human entertainment. Cancer is a horrible illness and it has affected Kaynus very personally - his brother and mother are cancer survivors, while his father and grandmother were lost to it. For myself, I've seen cancer take away an aunt, uncle and co-worker while I'm also seeing others currently fighting it. It's pretty clear that current governments in the US and Canada aren't interested in science or research anymore, so it's up to us to raise the funds that do it.
