Finaly got myself a drawing tablet
Posted 11 years agoan Intuos pen small, I can now start finishing all those sketches that Ive put aside while waiting for this thing... now If I can just understand how to use Photoshop CC or SAI. This feels too much a different animal from drawing on paper, that much Ive learned. but the least it will be a lot easier to clean up my scanned artstuffs.
Just got back from watching Pacific Rim [SPOILERS]
Posted 12 years agoI had to cut my sleep short to 4 hours since I have to go to work in the morning but god damn it was worth it.
As an action movie its okay, but as a mecha or Kaiju film it is ecstatic. Theres a certain... sincerity in it that shows how much Guillermo Del Toro loves what he's doing and it really shows and enchances the experience.
The dialogue was alright, a couple of good and inspiring speeches. There was no unnecessary romance subplot just a few slight "it may or it may not be" hint. The worldbuilding and the environment was well done, the whole scenario feels natural and believable given the premise, the designs invoke a great sense of scale that works in concert with the Jaegers and the Kaijus themselves. The music further reinforces this opting for slower Booming music. The only flaw I have saw which is really much more of a nitpick is the way that Mako speaks in a thick Japanese accent when she was adopted and Raised by the British Marshall Pentecost since a child. Also, I was hoping the "final boss" Slattern was more impressive, emerging from the rift it looked so massive and scary but in the action scenes it was just a little bit bigger than the Jaegers.
The only way this could have been more perfect for me is if Cherno Alpha, and Crimson Typhoon and their crews were more than wallflowers and had extended fight scenes. Even if just in a Montage of them taking down Kaijus. And if Marshal Pentecost takes out the Coyote Tango from storage in the final fight instead of being the copilot in Striker Eureka.

They actually did it... a great Superman movie.
Posted 12 years agoFirst half is kinda slow, the character didint feel that Superman-ey yet [somewhat understandable since this is his debut in universe] and there isnt as much memorable or quippy lines like from the better Marvel movies. But Holy freakin' fuck that action was intense. This is what Ive always felt how Superman's fights should be portrayed considering the force backing the combatants. That Kansas battle was incredible, Faora and Jax-Ur eing such a nice throwback to Ursa and Non from Supeman II. [Yes, I am aware that Faora and Jax-Ur are separate characters in their own rights but Im talking about how they are used in the narrative.] and speaking of Faora... unf... dat everything... she hits like 2 or 3 fetishes for me.
...oh and that soundtrack, It was sex for the ears.

NO TIME LIMIT just put in a post and I'll put the chara into consideration when I draw stuff.

-LIMITATIONS what is allowed? what is restricted? Is the chara exclusive to bone with just one other? Is it only for softcore? Is it only for nudes?
-Suggestions for poses, themes, etc are welcome but simply taken under advisement.
-I may end up using this list for along time as a resource so if in time you decide that the chara is no longer usable. just please reply on your original post, note me, or just delete the post.

I start scanning but notice there's a blue line that keeps appearing...
I clean the lens and camera of my decade old scanner...
The blue line disappears...
...so does fourth of the left side of the pages I scan.
and now nomatter how hard I adjust and clean the scanner it just wont budge.
*facepalm*
I suppose I can dip on my laptop fund for a new Scanner for now. Im thinking of a Canon Lide 110. I just hope my ancient computer can still handle it.

Avengers is a great team movie
Posted 13 years agoJust got out of the theater. The screenplay is awesome, everyone got good lines and time in the spotlight. The whole invasion scene reminded me of the Transformers 3 but the action was focused and everyone got their "Fuck Yeah!" Moments.

So I finally bothered to watch 'Dexter'
Posted 14 years agoI marathoned the first two seasons this weekend. It was interesting, I was expecting to be a one killer per episode format [like CSI... wait, CSI usually has two cases an ep... well you get the idea.] but then it evolved into a continuing storyline. Im somewhat unnerved that Im so desensitized with the violent killings and language of the show.
First season still had some birthing pains to it, like the way that it seemed that no one knew what to do with Laguerta's character. Second season improved quite a bit, but I thought it needed more one ep criminals for Dex to deal with. [granted the storyline did make it a point that he couldn't be act as wantonly on his urges as before] Also, the second season's story with Doakes made me feel bad for the character... I mean its like the Universe was actively conspiring to ruin his shit throughout the entire season. I just try to rationalize it in my head that there was really no other way to satisfactorily end the storyline by that point.
On a personal scale I'd give the show a 7.5, The side characters are still finding their voices but Dex himself is an entertaining character.
Oh and also the voices in my head now all sound like Michael C Hall's monotone voice.

Just came back from watching Thor

The characters are well done and we get some nice development for Thor, the Story is run at a decent pace and the action is good. Loki really carried the film for me as a complex and compelling villain that makes you keep guessing as to what his motives and plans really are. If I had to have a gripe about [and I do mean if I really *HAD* to] it is that I wanted more fights and character scenes of the Warriors Three + Sif. All in all Im placing the quality of the movie just a hairs breadth under Ironman 1.
As for the teaser in the end, looks like its about the main plot of the upcoming Avengers movie, but I'll let you see what it was for yourself.
