To spot or not to spot?
Posted 10 years agoI am really wanting to work on Tolka's suit revamp but I've got into a conundrum! D: I did not exactly design her revamp with a fursuit in mind apparently. So I need some opinions!
Frankly, charcoal fur is impossible to find, and the only source of it I have found apparently doesn't sell quality fur so I'd rather not waste my money. Sooo I've run across the problem, what to do about her spots? Should I just take them off or attempt to come up with some other fur? I had been debating changing them out or taking them off anyways but I don't want to go with black fur.
What do you guys think?

Posted 11 years agoSoooo I have come to this dilemma that many people forget to put Tolka's markings on her face in art, and that they may prove to be slightly crowded on a fursuit head when I remake her. Sooo I'm possibly looking at changing them slightly. c: I need your opinions though because I just can't decide!! I love like half of the ones I came up with. Sooo what do you guys think? :D

Posted 11 years agoSo I have a ton of foam sitting around and I wanted to make another head before I remake Tolka. o3o Only problem is I can't decide what to make and was wondering if you guys have any suggestions. I do have some grey, white, and black fur laying around too to mess with. I was potentially thinking of a Bull Terrier but I dunno. I'm open for suggestions though! ;w;
Gonna upload some pics from TFF and the furbowl soon as well!
Last but not least we decided not to do surgery on my dog and he is on strict bed rest so his leg can work on stabilizing and healing itself. c: So far he's doing pretty well and I'm extremely pleased. I forgot to update on that last journal about him so I thought I'd let you guys know he is doing pretty well and is slowly slowly on the mend. Thank you for all your well wishes!

21st Birthday wooo~

Had a great afternoon bowling with all my friends (Holy crap I cannot explain how much fun I had omg). Finally met Huttser in person and had a blast hanging out with all my old and new friends. It was great to see everyone again and I hope we keep doing meets in Edmond for sure. Also got to hang out with my dad for a bit and watch Gravity. c: It was an okay movie, very pretty, not a lot of plot though.
Hung out with Paul and Shinkaroo tonight and got to drink a really weak daiquiri and two glasses of champagne. c: First alcohol I've ever had so it was interesting but pretty darn fun! We played Harry Potter trivia too which was so poorly made but it was a lot of fun. GO RAVENCLAW. 8D
Anywhoodles. I felt like posting something stupidly late at night so there ya go. xD And update on the life of Tolka.

Posted 11 years agoPlease send my shiba some good thoughts and prayers if you can. I just got the rough news that he blew out his ACL and will never be able to run again. This is gonna be pretty rough on him since that was his favorite thing in the world and we were training towards doing biking. I'm just really upset for my old man and I'm hoping he can adjust to this. He's definitely getting tons of snuggles when I get home next weekend.
On a semi-related note, I have to start saving for a potential surgery for him to help take away the pain if possible. He's only on pain meds right now to help with it until we figure out if surgery will help at all. I don't want to take donations or anything like that, but if you have any ideas for what you would like to see me offer art commission wise, please let me know. Once things slow down a bit here I'll be trying to open up for a few commission slots to help pay for replacement surgery.
I just need some good thoughts going his way though. He's not taking it too well since he's usually an active dog. :c Hopefully he starts feeling better once his pain meds start to kick in but I just feel horrible over the whole ordeal.

Tolka is a ZOMBIE~
Posted 12 years agoGot the fur off the face of my fursuit so I can modify it. I've never refurbished any of the heads I've made before so this is interesting. Cx
So far so good though! The fur is peeled back on the muzzle and the nose is off. Working on the new nose now and gonna go buy some fabric for a new tongue soon. Also gonna recarve the smile to look more happy/derpy after I get a nose done and fix the muzzle angle~ May also remove the teeth but that's pretty low priority so we'll see!
I've been so nervous about this so I'm pretty happy for some smooth sailing for now. Needless to say, she looks a little like a zombie at the moment. xD Hopefully this will lead to a better looking expression though~

So much to dooo [Fursuit Facelift]
Posted 12 years agoTFF is just over a month away and I feel like I have so much work to dooo.
Tolka's new head just, I dunno, I don't like the expression. :/ It looked better before I furred it so I'm going to try and edit her face a bit before TFF to try and bring back that stupidly happy look. Which is part of the reason I never posted any completed pics of the head. Just gaaah, I feel like it needs some work and I'm not happy enough to post anything with that head in my gallery until it's fixed.
So far on my list: new nose, new eyes, new tongue, possibly recarving the smile, more shaving if needed, and hopefully some edits to that daggum droopy muzzle. >8I I feel like that head doesn't reflect what my work could be since it was kinda rushed. So Ty and I are meeting up next weekend to work on our suits.
It will be a grand adventure~
And hopefully a successful one. Here's to hoping for a more happy/spazztic looking Tolka for 2014. 8U Wish me luck.

Facelifts

Thought I'd let you guys know that she is getting a huge overhaul. Probably gonna look like a totally new character. xD Her fursuit will stay the same but the character will be changing a lot for art stuff.
I just didn't feel like I clicked with her anymore. She felt unoriginal and kinda dull. So it was pretty much overhaul her design, or create a new fursona and I'm too attached to poor Tolka to retire her, so many changes it is! Thought I'd let you guys know that she is getting a huge overhaul. Probably gonna look like a totally new character. xD Her fursuit will stay the same but the character will be changing a lot for art stuff.
I just didn't feel like I clicked with her anymore. She felt unoriginal and kinda dull. So it was pretty much overhaul her design, or create a new fursona and I'm too attached to poor Tolka to retire her, so many changes it is! I just felt the need to make the announcement that I am no longer a teen. OuO wootwoot. Apparently I'm supposed to start acting my age and not my shoe size now, which I think is overrated. 8U

Rough Day
Posted 12 years agoLife update again. Oi...
So my day has been a little more than rough. I lost my lil hedgehog, Chuck, this morning. He came down with some illness that didn't show symptoms until this weekend and all the vets were closed. :c Tried to save him but he passed this morning and I just don't know what to do with myself right now. I've had the lil guy since he was a baby and he just turned 3 not long ago.
Despite this, Ty and I had promised to be at the Run Lucky 5k again this year and I pushed through my saddness because so many people were excited for us to come back this year. Figured if my day is going to be terrible, I could at least make someone else smile for a bit.
Needless to say it was fun and took my mind off things for a bit. I'll be posting pictures from the event soon.
Sorry for the downer of a journal, just had to get that off my chest. :c On the other hand if you know anyone that does hedgehog art, please note me, looking to buy some memorial art of my lil guy.

Posted 12 years agoSo some of you may or may not remember my major stress last year about, well, my major.
I finally decided that being a vet was not for me and switched to Wildlife Ecology today! I could not be more happy or excited about this new major. c:
No more late nights stressing over whether I wanted to be a vet or not. I'm finally happy with my new choice and can't wait to get started!
Life updatey things if you care~ Haha. Just had to share cause I'm really excited to know what direction I want in live now! (Though I still want to be a musher someday somehow. 8I LOL.)

I'm doing sketchy busts/portraits like the V-Day pic I did. If you didn't see it, it's here:

All of them will be around the same size and can be downsized into icons as well for free.
Will do anything but horses and humans (sorry guys, don't want to give you anything subpar). Anthros will probably look best but I could do ferals as well. :D
