So, I loved being a Bearcat, being original and unique, but most people don't know what I am... and... I'm feeling left out of the canine adoration here... something about just being a happy puppy.... I wore my pomeranian tail on Sunday night in the Zoo... and it's like it re-infused me with an interest in being a pomeranian. All happy wags and wiggles and floof... I hate to change my fursona yet again, because I'm known for fursona hopping at least once a year... what do I do? I hate the idea of having two fursonas... I've always felt like it made more sense to have one you relate to, one who is you... -facedesk- haaaalp.

Well, it's officially over and the glamor that hides us furries from public must resume. The tails fade away, ears go back into hiding, our paws turn back into fur-less, padless sapien hands. Now the time to rejoin society begins and for some, it might even be a serious challenge.

It was a blast, though, honestly. I had great fun just getting to spend time with my Saiya, finally getting a chance to be in the fursuit parade, talking to new people and making friends, being part of Artist's Alley and Corgifying people's fursonas. It was a great new concept, and it went over quite well. I will continue to offer 5 dollar corgified fursona badges if people want them, and at next AC I might see about doing a full day of arting in the alley.

While there was a lot of issue as far as rooming and the fact that I have a horrible tendency to finally want to sleep around 2-5 am... while the rest of the people I was staying with wanted to sleep like normal people around 10-11 ish, it still didn't really bring down the experience.

I finally got to eat at Furnandos. Sad that it was the LAST chance to do so, but I got one of the Furryland food bowls, so at least it was a fun and tasty experience.

It was great to see old friends, even if in a few instances it took me a moment to remember them. I hope to improve on my fursuit head, or get a new one made, because I really would like to be able to see better :p But overall, the suiting was a lot of fun. I'd kind of like to get a better tail too if only because mine keeps getting stepped on. This might be improved by wiring the tail to curl.

It was great to be part of the Furry Femme Photoshoot hosted by Shujin Tribble at last. I've been seeing and hearing about it for so long, but at last I got to take part, and with my Saiya. It was great, and fun to hang out with everyone and finally really actually meet Era and, i'm guilty of forgetting their name, but the Dutch woman who was in Bitter Lake... You are a sweety and very fun to hang out with!! I can't wait to look at all the photos...but i'm a derp and at this moment left the CD in my car. :p

Shopping was never more difficult than it was this year when I only had 45 dollars give-or-take to spend, and only after Artist Alley selling was done. So many wants, so few actually obtained. I'M GUILTY, I WANT THAT HOOF BEAT COMIC!!! and there are so many SofaWolf books I want now. /crai

All in all, a great weekend spent making kissy faces with my Saiya and being a furry lil dork. YEY.

Is it so wrong to be proud of something you made, your first time ever... to want to wear it, even if it's not the best out there? I mean I'm literally in fucking tears because I've had multiple people now tell me my fursuit head looks like shit and that I shouldn't wear it to AC... and apparently it's up on a bad-suit bashing LJ community? Is it so wrong to give it a first shot? Everyone has to start somewhere, right? So why the fuck is MY first try SO bad? Shit like this makes me not even want to be part of the fucking fandom anymore... cause here I thought furries were NICE people...

So wtf... the first two comments I get after I post the first picture of my fursuit head, the first i've ever made EVER... are "It's a little rough around the edges" and "Don't do drugs and make fursuits, kids." WTF FURS? I've told people for the longest time that furries are some of the nicest people you can know and talk to and what the hell is going on lately? On all my fur-sites, I'm seeing furs picking on furs and just forgetting manners and stuff... REMEMBER WHAT YOUR MOTHER TAUGHT YOU? If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. I understand the rough around the edges is commentary that might lead to improvement... except there were no suggestions on how to go about it... the other was just plain rude. So I've got a gent interested in a fursuit/fursona reference sheet. Awesome. He's willing to pay 25-30 for it since I'm an amateur at this stuff. Still awesome. So here's the issue:

Never been good at front views of any animal, frankly, but diagonal shots and profiles i'm usually VERY good at. But even with pictures of the animal for reference, I can't get it fragging right D:

PLEASE artists, can you give tips for getting someone to look like a fox and not a freaking cat or house pet? Yes I managed okay enough on that zombie pic but for some reason it's failing me now... halp.

I was a very bad Binturong and spent a crap load of money pre- and during Tekkoshocon that I wasn't supposed to touch. I had assumed the new job would help repay that money but then I kinda got screwed over by the jerks who owned it. I quit as of today because I was too frustrated to deal with their shit anymore. I know it's a popular thing... and I know it's very requested... but couldn't we see a proportionate and realistic hermaphrodite for once? Does everything have to be hyper inflation horse cocks and beach balls and larger for breasts and testicles? I mean, come on, obviously there is some psychological issue if someone is wanting something of that size... it indicates a sense of self devaluation... feeling inadequate or undersized. I don't mind hermaphrodites in art or furry art, I'd rather enjoy them if they weren't all scrawny at the waist and giant everywhere else, or just extremely bloated everywhere.
