Anthro Diversity Requirements
General | Posted 8 years agoAfter realizing I only ever really draw wild cats and canids, I've come to the conclusion that some may find this extremely prejudiced and xenophobic. Because of this, there is a high possibility that people will demand more diversity, and include more reptiles, herbivores, dragons, and domesticated animals.
In order to prevent getting bricks through my window or committing suicide from two shots to the back of the head from a mile away, I will now permanently expanding the library of species I will draw: wild cats and canids, and now also Koreans and Bulgarians.
Rest assured my gallery is a space for any species, no matter how odd.

Multi-Million Dollar Idea
General | Posted 8 years agoI've been playing Cities: Skylines and playing around with the mod where you can drive cards around your city. All the bright lights and city streets reminded me of my days when I played a lot of Midnight Club 3 and Need for Speed: Underground 2 (since the remake was a waste of $20).
So why not finally make a game where you're the mayor of a town who's also a huge street racer. You could build your town in the day and racing on your own streets at night. This is why I'd love if Rockstar games and Paradox came together to make this idea a reality.

Forget szechuan sauce, Zesty sauce is where it's at.
General | Posted 8 years agoEvery time I go to burger king, I always like to get their "zesty sauce". It's freakin' good. With food, in a cup, out of the packet, or on the floor, that stuff is freaking great. Sure wish I could buy it in bulk though, so if you're a CEO of BK and reading this, mail me 1100 tons of Zesty sauce for free please.
I saw it coming, and did nothing.
General | Posted 8 years agoLately I've been trying to apply for paid graphic design internships. However, as I proposed would happen several years ago, my focus on making furry stuff rather than socially acceptable pieces has left me with no portfolio. As I foresaw years ago, my obsession with drawing anthros has been my downfall. With no normal stuff to show off, I'm left empty handed and only being able to say to people "Yees, I is good at drawin' bleev meh". This really sucks.
Something I didn't expect
General | Posted 8 years agoSo I was bored, and I realized that I'd never played the game "Sniper Elite: V2", even though I had it in my steam list since it was given out for free for a day. So I decided to play it, and beat it on the hardest difficulty in a few hours over its short campaign. However, through this, something happened to me that video games don't normally do; I actually felt like I was doing something 'wrong', morally wrong.
In this game about sniping, you're able to incapacitate targets rather than killing them outright, so you can lure their friends out to try to rescue them, like those scenes in "Saving Pvt. Rian" and "Full Metal Jacket". I ended up using this tactic a lot, purposely making soldiers lure their friends to their death by only asking for some much needed help. Though I often play things like "Grand Theft Auto" and the like, this is just something that actually bothered me a little bit. Not that I want the game changed in any way, but just thought it was weird that out of all the stuff games let me do, that was the thing that got to me.

Odd Rambling in the Middle of the Night
General | Posted 8 years agoI remember when I was young and the Twilight series came out, and so everyone (myself included) came to the conclusion that they're something lame and degenerate. A few years later, the game Skyrim came out. Being a fan of Fallout 3, I decided to try it out, and to my surprise it changed my life deeply.
Because of that game, I found out that I like , Fantasy settings, Dragons, Vampires, and worst of all, FURRIES. So many things that I ended up liking or becoming a fan of, whether I wanted to or not. However, all of these topics were absolutely shunned in the groups I was in, and the friends I had at the time. This lead to me being in denial of my opinions of those things for a number of years, until I finally came into contact with some new friends who convinced me to accept myself. That it's okay to like those 'nerdy and geeky' things, and that if something doesn't harm you, and it's not illegal or immoral, then there's nothing wrong with it.
So a while later I accepted my fur-side, created my Fursona from the two animals that meant the most to me, and began my FA account a while after that. Though many of my hobbies and interests seem very mutually exclusive; military history and furry comics, fox tits and modern political intrigue, medical treatment for psychological disorder and anthro-fanart, and the list goes on.
However, in all this, no matter how different and conflicting your opinions and beliefs are, or how much your heart and mind constantly cannot get along, it's important to accept yourself for who you really are, and not try to change. Simply enjoy your hobbies and interests, and make friends according to each, it's a big world out there and you don't have to fit any stereotypes or standards. Simply accept yourself, and love yourself for yourself.
And that is why I identify as a broken lawn chair!
(But seriously, it's good to accept yourself)

Another odd thought on something a bit controversial
General | Posted 9 years agoIt sucks that most of the stuff I find interesting to look into the details and philosophy of are often the things that are too controversial, and thus, 'taboo' to discuss; as if discussing anything that one may disagree with is somehow forbidden. Then again, perhaps that's why I find things interesting in the first place.
Anyway, something popped into my mind that after a bit of thought, ended up seeming a bit odd to me. Here on FA, as I've said before, we have Tiger/Cougars, Fox/Wolves, Frog/Tree, Leopard/Mountain Goat, and many more impossible hybrids, along with plenty of other fantasy traits, such as glowing body parts, extra limbs, bright/unrealistic body colors, and the list goes on and on.
With the sky still coming nowhere close to the limit, there are still people's OC's who are Transvestites. Before you punch me, listen; from what I've read on, people who undergo the long, fragile process of becoming trans only do so if they really feel that they were born wrong and need to change themselves.
But here's where I don't get it, if furries can literally have any feature imaginable about themselves, why would one create one that sees itself as imperfect, that felt the need to change itself from its original creation. It seems it would be far simpler to have made this imaginary creature in its true form in the first place, rather than making a character that is psychologically driven permanently change itself. Of course an exception would be one's own fursona, which would reflect themselves in real life, but what I am discussing is that of simply original characters not bound to any real person. To create a character that wasn't right in the first place seems like a flaw in the creator's part almost, if not an act of cruelty to create a creature that now requires a constant supply of drugs or injections to keep its current form.
Now I know this is a way too intense and in-depth look at the psychology of imaginary characters, but having done some research of the medical workings of the process in real life, and (in this author's opinion) the negative effects it seems to have, I just find it a bit odd that one would create a character with such a huge flaw. I mean, you can have characters with any imaginary arrangement of genitalia, and there's literally a unique option for the gender of each arrangement here on FA to choose from. However, the transgender option is still there, normally referring to the detail that the character(s) had to achieve their physical form unnaturally, and my final question in this being simply, why? If one could have a character of any form simply born that way, why make a character that denies their natural existence?

Hobbies can be a lot of work
General | Posted 9 years agoAs I said in this piece here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22040426/ , with some time off from college I've decided to try my hand at making a little comic. I was inspired by the creator of "Dreamkeepers", in one of his art livestreams I was watching on youtube, how he or one of his guests stated how just drawing sketches and comics alone can heavily improve one's art skill. This was the final straw that convinced me to finally put the post-apocalyptic setting I've had in my head (and in at least half a dozen of my art pieces on here) finally to paper, in the form of a comic with a new storyline and characters. Besides a couple of character sketches, setting the groundwork has forced me to do tons of writing, just to set up the setting/world and a few characters, and I haven't hardly touched the story yet. However though, it has been fun to let my creative side run free. Hopefully within a few weeks I'll have the story down (with dialogue) to begin drawing. Even if I don't get that far, it's still good practice.
WHY IS IT ONLY LAST MINUTE PANIC WORKS????
General | Posted 9 years agoI'VE HAD ENTIRE MONTHS TO DO STUFF, YET I SLACK THINGS OFF UNTIL THE VERY LAST SECOND, THAT'S THE ONLY TIME THE STUPID LIGHT BULB ABOVE MY HEAD GOES OFF AND I START GETTING STUFF DONE!!!!! Survival: Shelter, food, water, Assault Rifle, Lighter,
General | Posted 9 years agoWell, I bought "Shelter 2" since it was 75 cents on G2A, and I'm one of the somewhat dwindling amount of furries who is such from their love of wild animals rather than fans of cartoon animals.
Anyway, I thought it was going to be a beautiful, yet sad game, with a worthwhile experience. It turns out I was right, especially for that price. However, I was very quick to realize that I ended up behaving in it like I was back in Arma 2 or DayZ mod, constantly scanning for hostiles, searching for food frantically, etc.; which I guess means when I'm at my wit's end, I end up trying to be as effective as possible.
In the end, 3 out of 4 of my cubs survived, since food was extremely scarce during the first winter. Anyway, it's a great game, and I recommend picking it up if you're interested in artistic wildlife simulators.

I came, I saw, I left in boredom
General | Posted 9 years agoWell, I was bored and on Netflix. I went ahead and checked out that "Zootopia" movie, since everyone on FA seems to love it. Once again, I saw Disney trying to push their political ideals to kids through their movies. I found the plot and characters two dimensional and boring, and stopped watching after about 25 minutes. However, I still can't figure out why there's so much rule 34 of it. Anyway, that was a waste of time, and I think I'll stick to my documentaries and gritty action movies.
Not what I expected, but better.
General | Posted 9 years agoSo it all started when I was listening to the Milo Yiannopoulos show while playing Fallout 4. In his ad segment, he kept going on about some comic called "Dreamkeepers", then said it was about furries. I was bored, so I went ahead and searched up "Dreamkeepers", expecting all furry comics to be more happy go lucky - tongue in cheek stuff, or some kind of comic version of broke back mountain. What Dreamkeepers turned out to be was something COMPLETELY different.
One I started reading, I quickly found out that it's a very serious, event filled, depressing graphic novel that has very well developed characters and an amazing setting and plot line. I'm really glad I heard about it, though I never expected it to be from a political show. Anyway, the first three books and the prologue are free to read online, which is all I've read, so if anyone who reads this is interested, I thoroughly suggest checking it out. It's a very good read.

Anthros would be great at making heavy metal
General | Posted 9 years agoSince humans in real life can tear their vocal-cords doing death metal's trademark "screams" and "squeals", I think furries would be able to do it a lot better with minimal negative effects, provided it's the right animal doing it. Just imagine a warthog doing those squeals that some deathcore bands do in songs, or a lion or bear doing the all-too-common roars and growls you can hear done, or maybe a fox doing some of those high pitched growl-vocals you can hear in a lot of deathcore songs. This could probably make the entire heavy metal industry sound even more awesome than it already is, when provided by a massive variety of new feral-based sounds to add into the heavier stuff, it would be revolutionary.
Just more evidence that furries are better. :P

A few words on a touchy subject...
General | Posted 9 years agoAs most of us know, a few days ago there was a terrorist attack in Florida. However, I've never seen such a large variety in which the ways it is talked about and coped with. The fact that it was done by an individual who was a Muslim radical extremist, who killed people at a gay bar has lead to so many different conclusions, it's hard to find a place to start.
So I'll start here...
This has been recorded as the worst shooting spree in the US. However, lots of news outlets I've seen would only call it a shooting spree, and not a terrorist incident like the guy who committed the massacre itself claimed it was only moments before he did it. I don't see the point of trying to play down people's ideals and motivations if they've done something wrong, as many would agree, no idea is above criticism.
Well, the reason I'm writing this on FA and not some other forum site instead is because I feel the most affected audience is right here. Being that the shooting was at a gay bar, I've seen lots of art coming out on here as a way to inspire each other or help one another cope with this event; to the point that it seems (to me at least) that many homosexuals are even starting to fear some sort of persecution because of this event, and are intending to spread a positive message to their community. Though I find this whole movement to be of little value, as this one incident won't have any real affect on the current standings of gays within the US, at least from the way I see it.
This is where it ticks me off though, that people only see it as an attack on gays, and not an attack on American citizens as well. It's not like the gay militia is going to declare war on ISIS, or that all of the victims were even homosexuals. Though the attack itself was done by a US citizen, it was still done in the name of a foreign power, and I believe that those who take credit for it should be held responsible, and that the way to react isn't to spam rainbows (not like that'll stop -_-), but to discuss how to eliminate this threat so that it can't repeat, like how an attack in a larger scale, but just like this, happened in Paris not long ago.
Overall, what I'm trying to say is: gays don't need to fear more than anyone else, we should probably start doing something about ISIS, and we shouldn't place blame on anyone other than those who did it, or refrain from blaming those who did.
It also couldn't have hurt if some of the people in that bar were conceal-carrying, it's legal in Florida after all.

Anthrosis
General | Posted 10 years agoWeird idea I had:
Anthrosis, an extremely rapidly spreading disease. Disease is infectious to both humans and animals. Is contracted when coming into contact with infected's blood, sweat, saliva, and/or most other body fluids. Disease turns victim into an animal with a bipedal skeleton. Infected animals remain the same species they were before infected, whilst humans have what appears to be random transformations, though some evidence suggests victim's own personality and traits can affect outcome. Usually increases or decrease victim's size to 3-7 feet tall, more common occurrences in infected animals. Also increases IQ of infected animals, though does not affect infected humans. After 1-3 days from receiving infection, victim transforms most commonly in 1-5 days, normally in comatose, however some victims do not go into a coma, which causes symptoms of extreme pain and/or temporary psychosis and has led to fatalities and suicides. Pre-transformation symptoms include fever, hyper-activeness, paleness, and hallucinations. Disease is spreading at a rampant rate in third world countries, though extreme measures in first world nations have been taken to avoid spread. However, there are individuals that seek infection, as well as extremist groups attempting to spread disease in mass numbers.
6 months later, a massive war between furries and human puritans. :P

My 2 year anniversary on FA
General | Posted 10 years agoI've made it 2 years on here! Woooh. Somehow I'm still alive! It's just amazing how I went from low quality (to me) pencil sketches, to digitally colored mild quality pencil sketches. Maybe in another year I'll be even better. Having an account on here has really helped me get better as an artist because furries are something fun for me to draw, and even if I'm not a popular (or a talented) artist, what really matters is that I enjoy it and I'm getting better at it. Besides, if I really wanted to be popular, I could just draw gay porn.
Are imaginary friends worth more than real ones?
General | Posted 10 years agoAfter looking through art and stories on this site, many people have stories of love and friendships between their fursonas and characters they made, to the point where that's become common. I sit by myself wondering what the value of doing so is. Users who engage in these imaginary adventures seem much happier, yet when I consider it it just seems depressing because it's all false. Perhaps they use it as a means to raise their self esteem, to make themselves feel less lonely, while those who don't just simply aren't lonely enough in the first place to have the need.
It seems like an enjoyable activity to come up with a sort of universe of my own to have characters interact and inspire more art stuff like many artists on Furaffinity do. However, as I've stated before, it all seems just dumb to sit around imagining having friends or companionship because I can hardly obtain it in real life or even much online, and it seems like a very silly, pointless, and lackluster means to an end to make it all up in my head. Yet though, it's a great stress reliever and confidence booster in others. Plus, time is a limited resource on this earth, and wasting it on such petty means of unnecessary narcissism to compensate for a low self-esteem just shows how little we all matter.
So once again, I'm stuck between my optimistic and realistic sides swinging rusty crowbars at each other until one of them falls off the ledge. Feel free to tell me what you think, or give examples of how this has or hasn't helped you guys.
