Took this personality test thingy...

Friendly
You would rather hang out with others than spend time alone, and you'd far rather be doing something with your friends than just sitting around. You're happy in a crowded room, club, stadium, or auditorium.
You're not a private person who is ill at ease in a group; you don't view excessive socializing as a waste of time.
Creative
You are good at solving problems, coming up with original ideas, and seeing connections between things, connections that most other people miss. People with a high score on the "creative" trait often are employed in such fields as finance and scientific research, and enjoy avant garde and classical music as well as literary fiction and scholarly non-fiction.
You do not shun abstractions and concepts in favor of the concrete and tangible.
Curious
You like to get to the bottom of things. You're not content knowing what someone did; you want to know why they did it.
You don't simply take things as they are and move on; you're not content skimming along on the surface; you don't feel you're wasting time by digging for the meaning of things.
Introspective
You like your own company; you're a very interesting person. Tracking your own mental processes, knowing what you're thinking and why you do what you do, is important to you. Often, what's going on in your mind is more compelling than what's going on outside. For the most part, those with a high score on the "introspective" trait enjoy reading, taking long walks, learning new things, and other solitary activities.
You are not someone who is constantly looking to be among a group of friends; you never feel bored when you are by yourself.
Aesthetic
You appreciate art, beauty, and design; you know that they are not superficial but absolutely crucial to living the good life. You have good taste, and you're proud of it. Those with a high score on the "aesthetic" trait are often employed in literary or artistic professions, enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about the arts, reading, and travel.
You don't think it's pretentious to be moved by art and beauty. You're not one of those who believe it doesn't matter what something looks like as long as it does its job.
Original
You are constantly coming up with new ideas. For you, the world as it exists is just a jumping-off place; what's going on inside your mind is often more interesting than what's going on outside.
You don't feel that the road to success is to be a realist and stick to the program; you never stop yourself from coming up with new ideas or telling the world what you're thinking about.
Impulsive
You trust your your instincts. What others may see as rash behavior is, for you, simply going with your gut. Individuals with a high score on the "impulsive" trait tend to try new, sometimes outrageous, things.
You are not timid. For you, spending time microscopically examining the pros and cons of every decision means never getting anything accomplished.
Unflappable
You are not a slave to your emotions. It takes a lot to upset or unnerve you. That's why you're a good person to have around in a crisis.
You don't let it all hang out, which means that those around you often don't know the pressures you're under or what you're going through. You're not the kind of person people run from in a crisis.
Passionate
You are in touch with your emotions, and sometimes you react before you think. The good news: you don't tamp down your feelings. The bad news: you sometimes say or do things that you later wish you could take back.
You do not live your life on an even keel; you do not go for long periods without experiencing some mood swings.
Intellectual
You are thoughtful, rational, and comfortable in the world of ideas. People find you interesting to talk to. You're the living embodiment of the saying "You learn something new every day." In general, those with a high score on the "intellectual" trait are employed in such fields as teaching and research, and are enthusiastic about reading, foreign films, and classical music.
You do not avoid abstract conversation, experimenting with new ideas, or studying new things. It bores you to stick to the straight and narrow of what you already know.

Bronycon!
Posted 14 years agoWent to Bronycon in NYC this past weekend, had a total blast. Met some of the shows voice actresses and even got a Rainbow Dash poster signed by Ashleigh Ball herself.
Can't wait to attend this con again! *BROHOOF!*

Happy Birthday to me...
Posted 14 years agoI'm 23 years old today, yay. Old mutt is old
My life thus far...
Posted 14 years agoBefore I begin I wanted to preface this with the following: This is not intended to be some whiny, emo, bitch-fest like many of my previous posts. I simply intend to post facts and legitimately want advice. If you have nothing to add than do not reply. I don't want a comments section full of butt pats.
That said...
I'm in a deep rut in my life right now. Things are stabilized and for the first time in a while, I can say that I'm truly happy. However, things aren't improving, and I haven't the faintest idea of what to do.
Currently I'm working through the same temp agency I've been with for the past year or so. I'm actually in a job I enjoy, but the problem lies in the fact that it is highly unlikely that I'll ever be hired on by my assignment. The outlook at present has me remaining a temp indefinitely. Which means no sick or vacation time, no benefits, no raises, or guarantee that I'll even have a job the next day. I can be fired for any reason, at any time, with no explanation. I also do not qualify for unemployment benefits no matter how long I work there, which means if that happens I will be screwed.
I'm currently living with my parents, pretty rent free. Occasionally I pick up the power bill, but mostly I pay only my car insurance and my phone bill. I make $10/hour at my job with 40/hours every week. I am, however, hesitant to make any long term financial commitments due to the aforementioned uncertainty of stable employment.
I am aware of a few options I have. I could go back to college(with loans of course) and try to get a better job. I could attend a local trade school, or even just look for another stable entry level job.
The problems start here though, due to circumstances that I fully admit were at least partially or entirely my fault, I have some things making this difficult: (in chronological order)
I dropped out of high school, I have my GED now but it was still a bad choice.
My insurance is the bare minimum legally, and I still pay $200 or more a month. My rates also increase every year. I have no tickets however I believe this is because I had an at-fault accident six years ago, and the fact I drive a 23 year old car with little-to-no safety features.
I attended college before, and dropped out. Due to Florida state law, I am ineligible for financial aid/grants until I re-take the courses I failed and pass them, paying out of pocket for it.
I had an apartment in Orlando, due to a room mate ditching me last minute, I was forced to terminate my lease early, leaving me with a $6000 cancellation fee...Which I neglected to pay due to simply not having the money. It has since gone to collections, giving me a dismal sub-300 credit score.
Because of the previous situation, I can no longer get credit for anything, and that includes student loans.
As you can see, thats quite a laundry list of difficult problems. I also encounter another roadblock in that even past that...I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life. Not even the faintest idea of a career path I'd like to pursue. I cannot for the life of me pick something that I enjoy doing thats feasible. When I was last in college I majored in...Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, with a minor in...Zoology. Not exactly the most synergistic of academic endeavors.
To be honest my only hobbies include video games, the furry fandom, and a love of Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels/movies. So I'm at a loss as to where that leads me career-wise?
I just want help...I'm stuck in my current position in life with no idea how to make things better. If anyone has any advice at all...please...I just want a direction. I have no faith in my own ability to fix my life. I only seem to make things worse, and I'm not wallowing in self-pity either, so don't take this that way. As I stated above, I am happy right now. I just want to move things forward, rather than keep stagnating in my current position. I just have no idea how to go about it?

Furrys! I need your help!
Posted 14 years ago A few years ago I was shown a Canadian TV show from the 80s-90s era that involved animal puppets(I think) and had a sort of 'Therian'-esque theme to it. It was for children I believe and was kinda like a native American thing almost. Can anyone help me pin the name on the show? I'd like to see it again. Thanks!
EDIT!
I found it! It's called "Longhouse Tales" Now if only I could find a DVD set. :P

Finally decided on Towyn 2.0!
Posted 14 years ago...however I'm keeping it a secret until I get the ref sheet done. MWAHAHAHAHAHA! :D
Yep, I'm evil, and totally serious too. Only a few people know what species I picked for my fursona and I intend to keep it that way...for now.
Can you guess what I picked? :P

Towyn 2.0
Posted 14 years agoOK well here's the gist of my ideas for Towyn 2.0. I'm changing the character as well as the fursuit so the decision is important to me, my 'fursona' is a representation of myself at the core. Its come down to choosing one of two routes.
The first involves keeping Towyn the same species-wise but making some cosmetic changes as I feel he's rather bland. Also I'd like to show that he's aged and grown since I created him years ago. I threw around the idea awhile back that he's infected with lycanthropy, thus making him a Werewolf too. I had some ideas to add scars and such from the attack that infected him. As well as fur color/pattern changes to make him look a little bit more like an actual coyote.
The second option is to change his species. Not entirely as I'm still rather attached to the coyote mythos and I love them but again I'd like to show how I've grown and thus reflect a bit more of myself through my character. I was thinking of a coyote hybrid, using some of the other species I feel represent my best qualities(and in some cases, my worst. :P) Feel free to suggest other ideas if you know me well enough. Though right now I'm contemplating the idea of a coywolfdog. A mix of predominantly coyote with some wolf and domestic dog(husky) thrown in. Kind of like 50% coyote, 25% wolf, 25% husky.
I pick the coyote for obvious reasons. I love them. Their resourcefulness, cunning, and intelligence. I also identify with the wise trickster myths, finding a lot of those quality's in myself(at least I think I do).
I pick the wolf because it represents my reliance on my friends. I like my solitude(coyote trait) but at the same time I -need- to have a 'pack' to help me through the tough times. I also think both the wolf and coyote influence my love of singing. I also find that the wolves natural habitat is preferable to me. I am in love with forested mountain areas. Cold but comforting all the same. Can't explain it but I feel so calm in the middle of a pine forest. I also love the wolf for it's predatory beauty and grace.
I pick the husky because I feel the breed represents my stamina, my strength and will to go forwards, even when I'm exhausted. I also like domestic dogs loyalty. The dog also represents my playful and silly nature. The husky in particular because normally I'm lazy, but if properly harnessed I am very driven and focused.
If any of you feel you have insight to give feel free to. Honestly I'd be happy with either but while writing this I have begun to lean towards the latter option more. Funny how perspective works, eh? So like I said, open forum, feel free to give advice, opinions, comments, cookies, whatever. I'm all ears. :3

State of the Coyote address
Posted 14 years agoWell, I've been ignoring the shit out of this thing haven't I?
I'm working a new job. Lost the old one after I filed a harassment/discrimination claim against two co-workers. Long story short, they were fired and I was terminated for "my own safety". Regardless, my temp agency found me a better paying job the same day.
Speaking of...I work for Astaras Welding Accessories now. I like the job. It's physically demanding but I enjoy what I do and who I work with. Overall much better than the hellhole I was at prior.
Unfortunately my car died two weeks ago. I still have not been able to fix it and I'm shooting in the dark as to whats wrong. I'm planning on dropping another paycheck into it before I bite the bullet and have it towed to a mechanic. If they can fix it for under $600 I'll do it, if not...I'm parting it out and using the money to help buy a new car. Kinda a crappy situation but I'm dealing with it.
Haven't been to a con in two years, sad about that but my social life has been pretty good despite. I spend my free time hanging with local mundane friends and stuff. I run a tabletop Werewolf: the Apocalypse game and I'm looking into starting a LARP. I also chill at the local Hookah Bar a lot, kickass live music there.
Lastly, I need to ask any car people reading this for some advice. If I have to part with my Chevy, I'm looking into getting a full-size passenger van. I really would like a good people carrier since I'm usually the ride for my circle of friends and I enjoy taking road trips with groups. Recommendations, even if it's not a van? I'd like to spend no more than $2000 if at all possible, so keep that in mind.

Phone suggestions?
Posted 15 years ago*sigh* As much as I don't want to admit it I'm gonna need a new phone soon. My first gen iPhone is really starting to show it's age. The battery is holding less and less of a charge. Both the earpiece and loudspeaker barely put out any sound now making it nearly impossible to hear an incoming call or even when just talking to someone unless I use my bluetooth headset(which hurts to have in for more than 20 minutes and cost $130). It also isn't supported by apple anymore so I never got a software update past 3.x something. I can't do 3G, MMS, take videos, and the camera is crap. The list goes on and on.
Don't get me wrong though, it's been a great four years with the phone, I just find myself getting left behind now with so many newer and technologically superior phones coming out these days. To be honest I want to upgrade to an iPhone 4 but that isn't going to happen short of a miracle.
You see, I've never had a contract with AT&T, when the first gen iPhone was released they offered prepaid go-phone plans for those who didn't have credit enough to get a contract or couldn't afford one. I've been using this plan since I got the phone. However, when the iPhone 3G was released they stopped offering the prepaid plan and now require a contract on all iPhones. I only can keep mine because I was grandfathered in.
I've begged them to let me upgrade to an iPhone 4 but they will not without a contract, which I cannot do. I have a really low credit score(sub 400) and therefore AT&T wants an $850 security deposit plus the $200 for the phone just to get me started. I am completely incapable of paying that absurd amount of money, no matter how much I may want to.
So now I've been forced to consider other phones, however my biggest thing is that I've spent $100+ on apps for my iPhone and if I move to a non-Apple smartphone, I'll lose all that money. Even with the difficult time AT&T has been giving me, I'm still loathe to leave them if only because I want to stick with some form of iPhone dammit! I like the thing, I'm familiar with it, and it's served me well.
Though...since it's highly unlikely that I'll be able to get a newer iPhone, what's a good alternative? I'd prefer something that is very similar to the iPhone. I hate physical QWERTY keyboards(never used one but the buttons are so damn tiny I don't see how anyone uses them) so something with a good touchscreen portrait/landscape keyboard is a must. Also a big requirement is that it must be able to be used on a prepaid plan, no contract. I'll only do a contract if the deposit isn't absurd(Sprint has been the only company to offer me a reasonable deposit, $50. Even Verizon wanted $600). That prepaid plan also cannot be in any way restrictive, I still want every feature of the phone available, like unlimited data and such.
So...with those requirements, what's a good upgrade for me?
TL;DR I need a new smartphone, suggestions?

$125 Disney gift card.
A whole bunch of WoW shirts.
Wind rider cub plush.
Bottle of 100 proof Sothern Comfort.
About $270 from various relatives.
Overall a pretty good Birthmas. :D
It needed to be said...
Posted 15 years agoI've noticed something thats been increasing in frequency as of late in the fandom and it's really starting to piss me off.
Side note before I go on: This is in no way, shape or form directed at one group/person in particular.(Straights, Gays, Bisexuals, ect) I just tend to notice it more from the furry gay community than the others but all parties are guilty of it at one point or another.
Ok, so I have to say this, a disturbingly large number of furries need to grow the fuck up. I'm sure many of you have also noticed this as well. It seems that quite often on Twitter and FA I see some furry who, for whatever reason, feels the need to glaringly point out their sexual orientation and then be all arrogant because they're so much better than everyone else. Well lemme tell you something, equality and respect are two way fucking streets.
For example: When an artist on FA posts a piece of heterosexual artwork, there is always a few fuckwads who feel the need to say something along the lines off "Eww, a girl" or "This would be so much better with just cock" or whatever.
I really hate when I see this, and again, I'm not trying to harp on the gay community solely but I see it more from them. You'd think, being part of the gay community they'd understand the basic fucking idea of acceptance and tolerance. If there is one idea I wish I could force into these furs skulls it's this: Heterosexuality is EQUAL to Homosexuality and Bisexuality. One is not superior to the other damn it.
Why they have it in their minds that just because your part of a orientation, whatever it is, they have to fucking shove it in the face of someone who probably doesn't care will forever fucking puzzle me. Like the people who harass an artist on FA who suddenly decides to start drawing gay porn instead of straight stuff, or vise versa.
If you don't like a piece of particular artwork, DON'T FUCKING LOOK AT IT! Don't comment and whine about how you wish it could be gay/straight/whatever. That just makes you look like a disrespectful twat.
I see this on the furry Twitter community too. Not going to name names but recently I saw a fur literally giving another furry shit because she was a GIRL and literally stated that males/gays are better. They were being serious too. WHAT THE FUCK?! Seriously, come on! Being gay, that person of all people should understand the importance of being accepting of other peoples differences.
Also, if your going to do something like this as a joke....make for damn sure everyone knows it's a fucking joke. This is the furry fandom, we don't all have to be so super cereal but damn, learn some tact and how to apply it properly. Golden rule: if you think your comment will be offensive, THAN IT PROBABLY IS! Re-word it to clarify intent or don't fucking post it! Gah!
So in closing if you're straight/gay/bi, please be respectful of others orientation, even if it differs from yours. Remember, we're all supposed to be striving for equality among the mainstream. Might as well get a head start in the furry fandom. None of them are "better". They're all equal, so either accept that and act like an adult, or GTFO.
TL;DR Don't act like an ass just because you're of a particular sexual orientation and CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.

Had another damn dream about wolves...
Posted 15 years agoYep, an extremely vivid lucid dream too. I touched on it a bit on twitter but I figured I'd elaborate a bit here for those who aren't on twitter or just didn't see the tweet.
Like most of my past lucid dreams, it involved wolves. Quite a simple one actually. I was in a wolf sanctuary, wandering about when I came across one wolf that just seemed to call out to me. The rest of the dream just entailed me sitting there with the wolf. It was weird, it's hard to describe the...connection, for lack of better words, I felt with this animal. I was content to just sit there and look into his eyes. I felt completely at peace.
I'm sure I'll be pondering the meaning of this one for awhile, even though the obvious answer is that it's just another attempt by my sub-conscious to tell me that my fursonas species should be a wolf or something to that effect. :P
In response to this I'll pose the question that I also asked my twitter followers: Have any of you ever thought about changing your fursonas species but are reluctant because you've grown too attached to the current one?
Before anyone asks 'cause I already mentioned it elsewhere, I don't do alts. There is only one me, I dislike the idea of splitting myself between multiple characters. Ya know? :3

Posted 15 years agoThis is my fursona:

1. What do you think my character would have a job/career in?
2. What is unique about my character that you enjoy?
3. What are his/her flaws?
4. What are some changes you would like to see?
5. What would you like to see my character doing in future pictures?
6. How old does my character look?
7. On a scale of 1-10, how attractive is my character?
8. On a scale to 1-10, how sexually attractive is my character?
9. On a scale to 1-10, how well does my character fit me?
10. If you could, how would you personally change him to fit me better?

Changing my 'fursona' up a bit.
Posted 15 years agoTaken from my LJ, just cause I know people don't always read it:
Actually it's just kinda an announcement of sorts.
Any way...I've been pondering a change I want to make to my character(fursona if you will) and instead of being an indecisive bastard like I have been in the past and asking people if/what I should change. I just made my own decision for once.
I'll explain in more detail here in a tick but I figure I'll just spill it now to save you time in case you don't wanna know why I chose this. :P
Aside from a few cosmetic changes I'm making to Towyn, like fur patterns, color, ect... I've also decided that as well as being a regular anthro coyote(who is sometimes a micro, lol) that he is also a werewolf. ....yep, and not one of those pussy pretty-much-a-toony-anthro-wolf werewolves, no, one of those kick-ass snarly rip-your-guts-out-angry werewolves.
If you care to know why I chose this I'll explain it... I've always liked wolves. Can't get away from that. It's the reason my character used to BE one. Though I feel a coyote fits my personality better, I'd still like to represent my liking of canis lupus somehow. Since I enjoy the primal viciousness of werewolves I thought it was a happy compromise. I'm not one of those people who can have multiple characters, there is only one me, and my 'fursona' is supposed to reflect that.
Both sides are intrinsically me, just two sides of a coin. Towyn as an anthro coyote is my friendly, rational thinking, civilized side. Whereas Towyn shifted into his werewolf form is my primal, instinct driven, passionate-to-extremes side. Get it? The two aren't a 'good' and 'evil' thing either. Both sides are shades of grey.
As for the logistics of it....how/when shifts occur ect... The way I've figured it is that he can shift at will although he is overcome with the instinct/desires of the wolf side. Also extreme anger/pain can bring on a change. Full moons always change him until they set.
I don't have art of his werewolf form yet but I'll say he looks like a very large angry anthro wolf with grey fur, huge claws, big teefies, that kinda thing. If I had to pick something to compare the general look I'm going for(art is not mine of course) I'd say it'd be along the lines of this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3944493/
Anyways, thats about all I wanted to say. I will eventually get art/a fursuit of wereTowyn(as I'm now calling him) though the former is more likely to happen sooner. Though I do quite enjoy the idea of playing a fursuit character that isn't all cute and cuddly. :3
P.S. Even though for now I'm calling the werewolf "wereTowyn" I will eventually have him developed enough as a character to warrant his own name. Maybe...wereTowyn is kinda neat and technically Towyn fits them both since they are the same person...animal...thing... o.O
I am open for ideas on a name though, if you feel so inclined as to suggest one. :P

Original paint job. Grey isn't my color but the cute little red stripe grew on me.

Chevy! Said I'd never get another American car but....eh. :3

See the temp tag up there? I didn't know it was illegal to have it in the window in FL. Got pulled over for it this morning. No ticket though. :D

Loving the retro dash! Totally 80's styling.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e.....7/IMG_0142.jpg
...and I sorta ruined it by installing a new radio and adding an iPod holster. I needed my music! xD
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e.....7/IMG_0143.jpg
Bench seats are hella comfortable. I already like 'em.
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e.....IMG_0144-1.jpg
I look so small compared to it. > . <

Last one. As you can see I really like my new ride.
I think I got a really good deal on it. $850 and it only has 66k miles on it. Most of the engine and exterior were in near perfect condition. I spent the past few days just fixing up the few things that needed replacing. Total engine fluid flush, new vacuum hoses, new o2 sensor and the door trim was faded and needed some touch up paint. Thats about it though, everything else works great....almost.
The A/C evaporator needs replacing so I can have cold air, but otherwise the climate systems still work. Gonna need new tires in about 6 months as the rear ones are slightly dry-rotted.
Other than those things I can't think of anything else that needs fixing, even the darn power locks and windows work great, even after 20 years. Very little wear and tear on the vehicle.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it.

Posted 16 years agoWell part of my Christmas/Birthday(Birthmas?) that I neglected to mention was that my parents were going to take me to the used car auction to get me a new set of wheels since my pontiac died.
Well I'm happy to say I made it out of there with something pretty good.
A 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity Eurosport 4dr sedan.
At first I wasn't happy about it. It's big, a sedan, and looks kinda like an old persons car. Though after driving it I was pretty impressed. Nice 2.8L V6 under the hood, has bench seats and drives extremely smooth over most types of road.
Best part though? 66K miles on it. Barely been driven, thing looks new. Got it for $850(I paid for some of it with my christmas money, mostly just the tag and title fees) Most of it still works too. A/C needs fixing and the rear windows don't roll down but eh...all in due time.
I will post pictures when I can, getting ready to head out to Orlando! Epcot tomorrow bitches! :3

Concerning earlier...
Posted 16 years ago...I'm not a perfect person, but I'm fairly certain I believe things for a good reason. I think it's important to mention that I never intend to start a huge flame war, it just usually ends up that way unfortunately.
You all have to understand...this morning, the only topic of conversation between my family and myself was concerning politics, namely the health care reform. I was getting pretty riled up about the whole thing, which is easy when every person in the house with me is a firm Republican and also very irate about the stuff on the news. I posted an article my mother showed me with a bit of my added opinion to vent a bit. She actually encouraged me too.
I will say though...I consider myself a very tolerant person. I've NEVER, to my knowledge, directly insulted a person because of where they stand politically. I will attack their candidate, and the ideals they support, but never the person themselves. In fact...I quite enjoy having such a politically diverse group of friends, it helps me understand more why I support what I do, and exposes me to ideals I may not have known of.
The thing that gets me is...the absolute hatred I get from people. I haven't, and will never, stop being friends with or hate someone because of what they believe.
I know I'm a minority here, but I'd really appreciate it if I could just be a Republican, conservative furry without the fear of being hated/flamed if I post something pertaining to my particular political opinion.
Which remember...I fully admit that they are just that.... OPINIONS! Most political issues are opinion based, and I stick with mine, though I never claim that I'm preaching absolute FACT. If you really disagree with me SO MUCH on something, then instead of just telling I'm dead wrong and resorting to name calling, actually ARGUE your point well, with evidence to back up yer claim. Chances are I will listen. Just don't expect me to take anything lying down, I will debate with you, as long as it remains friendly. and who knows....maybe you or I might change our minds on something.
Again, I'm not perfect, and in the heat of things I've said some stupid things and not always held myself to a good standard of debate, but I'm human and make mistakes. For that I apologize.
Please, I implore you, actually take a moment when I post to consider WHY I'm Republican and believe what I do, before you take it upon yourself to tell me I'm wrong/flame me. If you wish to respectfully disagree and offer opposing opinions in a non-confrontational way, thats totally fine, and I promise I'll show you the same respect.
Anyway...I'm rambling too much so I'll end this before I create an even longer wall o' text. I really didn't want to get all riled up on the day before my birthday so I'm just gonna take a break and relax with my family. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas.
