Pertaining to my absence...
Posted 3 years agoI have mostly been more active in the Kirby community recently and have not really been doing much with the furry community. I'm not leaving, I just feel more at home doing this instead.
I haven't really made any progress on the game I was working on awhile ago and a big part of that is due to the fact that I have been working for Nintendo for quite a long time. I also havn't been able to work on it because I lack a team to create it but I only make enough money to help myself live; if I were to pay others to work for me, I wouldn't be able to live healthily. Please forgive me but the game will never be finished. If there's anything I can do to make it up to you guys, please let me know, but again, I can only do so much.
If ever you wish to find me, I attend the Kirby Live Radio on YouTube almost daily under the name "Elfilis" where I either just chat or roleplay as said character.
And with that, I'll be taking my cinematic leave as Elfilis...

SO! I know it's been a good.. what, 2 years since I gave a FoaD update?
Well, anyway, I've started working on it again.
As you may have noticed by my most recent music submissions, my music skill has
gone up quite a lot. So instead of using the music I already had, I'm going to not
only upgrade the quality of them (and believe me, they need it), I will also
be replacing some with all-new tracks! I already have 4 new ones ready to listen to!
Here are some details relating to them and the links to them:The Past: 2:42 - A cinematic cutscene at the beginning of the game featuring the story of how Dra's city, Dramora came to be what it is today.
The Start of Something Amazing: 3:29 - Just Title Screen music
The Count... of the Stars: 7:11 - A level theme in which you roam through a haunted castle at night.
All the while, a mysterious figure is lurking in the shadows, ready to strike at any moment!
Jumpy Boi Fight: 4:41 - A goofy fight with Dra's best friend, Morton. Don't worry, it's just a training sesh.
Speaking of training, this music will also play if you ask Morton for help learning a boss's patterns.
You'll fight Morton instead though, and even he doesn't know all of the patterns, so stay on your guard!

I don't make a lot of money as it is; I don't have a paying job so I thought it could work..
So.. yes or no? Is that something you would pay for?
Basically like.. I'd post text documents of the story on here, maybe side stories in comic form, also official art for games. Stuff like that. More stuff too, like prizes for being a patron or top patron, idk. Like a drawing or sketch of your character in any way you want (sfw).

Well, now I'm changing that rule to "no characters who were made for the sole purpose of being NSFW"
Reason why I'm changing my mind, is because that's not technically fair.
Also, when I thought about it, I remembered how Nintendo used a
GameGrumps video for a Shovel Knight commercial. The GameGrumps
are a YouTube group channel for "Let's Plays" where they talk about
literally anything they want, whether it be SFW or NSFW.
So, the only characters I'll allow are male, female, and genderless.
Herms and... whatever else, are not allowed.
If you want a character in the game, I'm still accepting them.
Any kind is fine, it doesn't even have to be an animal.
I'll accept insects, exotics (this one depends), and humans (this is very rare though).
I will not accept Sergals, as I'm sure Mick wouldn't appreciate that without
direct permission from her. If you want to ask her, you can,
but I need clarification from her first, before I just say "Oh yea, fine, sure, okay"
I'll ask CCSMascots if Mecari are allowed.
But other than that, I'll most likely accept your character.

Hello, I'm Dra Machi. And welcome to Flight of a Dragon Lore. I'll tell you anything you
need to know in order to understand what the series, show, game, or whatever, is all about.
This will be updated frequently, so stay tuned for more info. So, like, bookmark this page, write
down the link, something, so you can keep track of this journal. I will never delete this and
the comments section will always be open for questions, comments and concerns.

Well, now that that's out of the way, I'm going to go over a few things.
In this series, there will never be something a parent should worry about if they have children
who enjoy the game, so don't worry, I got it all covered! If you still have
a few concerns, go ahead and leave a comment on any account I
have linked above or just in the comments section below if you have an FA account.
In the game series, there will be an online mode where you can play with friends, or random
people online. I plan on making a voice chat feature for friends only, since some people can be
extremely rude when playing online with random people, whether it be screaming, cursing,
being depressive, or just being outright annoying. The online mode is a 'Fight to the Finish' kind
of battle mode, like the Super Smash Bros. series, or Rivals of Aether. The online mode is
called 'Fight or Flight'. I'll talk about that more later, if you have questions.
The next thing I'd like to get into is mechanics of the series.
Jumping and Overall Movement
The jump button isn't definite right now, but if the series
releases on the following, this is what their buttons would be:
Nintendo Wii U and (new) 3DS: X
Nintendo NX: ???
PS3, PS4, PSVita: Triangle
Steam: [Keyboard] Whatever you set it to, or S
ConsoleFN [this is a console I'm working on creating.

the controller where your right hand would be.
Jumping is pretty simple. You jump to get over things, get higher in the air, etc. Most characters
will be able to jump up to six (6) times.
Movement is kind of obvious, but there is a run/boost button.
The run/boost button is also not definite right now, but if the series
releases on the following, this is what their buttons would be:
Nintendo Wii U and (new) 3DS: Y
Nintendo NX: ???
PS3, PS4, PSVita: Square
Steam: [Keyboard] Whatever you set it to, or D
ConsoleFN [this is a console I'm working on creating.

the controller where your left hand would be.
You have to be holding the button in order to run, like in the 2D Mario franchise. To run without
boosting, hold left or right on the control stick or pad, then start holding the button. To boost, let go
of the control stick or pad, then push the run/boost button,
after doing so you can hold a direction again. To stop running,
double tap in the opposite direction you are facing.
If you don't like the controls, there should be a setting to change them to however you like.
Attacking
There are only two (2) attack buttons. One is called your Attack button, and the other is your
Power button. To remove confusion, the button to turn off the ConsoleFN is not on the controller,
and the one on the console itself is called the On/Off button. On other systems, it should be called the Special button.
Both of the attack buttons are not definite right now, but if the series
releases on the following, this is what their buttons would be:
Nintendo Wii U and (new) 3DS: A for Attack and B for Special
Nintendo NX: ???
PS3, PS4, PSVita: Circle for Attack and X for Special
Steam: [Keyboard] Whatever you set it to, or X for Attack and C for Special
ConsoleFN [this is a console I'm working on creating.

Power (these buttons are where they should be).
The Attack button is always the same for the character you are using. Every character has different
attacks from each other, but that's not what I mean. Attacks never change for the character unless
they are using a different kind of weapon.
The Power/Special button changes depending on what ability the character obtains during gameplay.
For example, Dra's Neutral Power is a shuriken throw. Near the beginning of the game he obtains a
special kind of shuriken called the Shruiken. It allows him to take on the attributes of whatever he
throws the Shruiken at. That's what would change his Power attacks. Another example: Some
characters (I still need to go over this with the owners) will have a special ability they can activate
whenever they want by hitting the Face button. I'll tell you where that is up next.
The Face Button
The Face button isn't definite right now, but if the series
releases on the following, this is what their buttons would be:
Nintendo Wii U and (new) 3DS: Select
Nintendo NX: ???
PS3, PS4, PSVita: Select
Steam: [Keyboard] Whatever you set it to, or F
ConsoleFN [this is a console I'm working on creating.
the only thing close to completion is the controller prototype]: Literally a circle with a plus in it that
looks like it has two (2) cat ears, the button is in the center of the controller.
This button allows your character to transform in two (2) ways. For Dra, it's different. Since he gets a
Shruiken, you can set your favorite Lighte (which is the ability you get from the Shruiken) to be
automatically triggered when you hit the Face button. For other characters, it just gives them a
special form, that they choose for their character, that makes them much stronger than normal.
There will also be a LOVE meter in the top of the screen (going off of what the Steam, PS, XBox, and
ConsoleFN versions would look like) that can be filled up by defeating enemies and doing combos.
Once it's completely filled up, if you press the Face button, the character you are playing as gains a
special form called their LOVE form, or PRIMAL form for other characters. This changes every Power to
become extremely powerful and look impressive! Every Attack is the same, but looks incredible!
Grabbing and Throwing
The Grab button allows you to grab an enemy and lock them in place. It's extremely simple. You can
even do it in midair! But not only can you do that, but you can also Attack or use a Power while
holding onto them or throwing them!!
The Grab and Throw buttons are not definite right now, but if the series
releases on the following, this is what their buttons would be:
Nintendo Wii U and (new) 3DS: ZL and ZR on Wii U, L on 3DS (and ZR on new 3DS)
Nintendo NX: ???
PS3, PS4, PSVita: L2 and R2
Steam: [Keyboard] Whatever you set it to, or Z
ConsoleFN [this is a console I'm working on creating.

You can throw in four (4) directions: Up, down, left, and right. It's just as simple as that. You'll get
the hang of it in the game. But you can also combo it. Try out different things and use them online if you want!
Dodging and Guarding
Guarding is simple. Push one of these buttons to Guard, they're not definite so yep:
Nintendo Wii U and (new) 3DS: L and R on Wii U, R on 3DS (and ZL on new 3DS)
Nintendo NX: ???
PS3, PS4, PSVita: L and R
Steam: [Keyboard] Whatever you set it to, or A
ConsoleFN [this is a console I'm working on creating.

Dodging is similar to the Super Smash Bros. series. Hold the Guard button and push a direction. The
only difference is, you can push up to Dodge into the air, which you can then input an attack, which
brings me to the next thing.
Jump Dodge (JD) Combos
After Dodging into the air, you can perform combos that others may consider a Counter. But in this
game series it's called 'Jump Dodge Combos' Or 'JD Combos' for short. By hitting the Attack button,
you can hit up to three (3) times in the form of a JD Combo. After those three (3) hits, your normal
Attacks play out. However, when you hit the Power/Special button, depending on what direction you
input and where your opponent is, you will automatically deliver multiple attacks that you don't have to
control. You can control where you and your opponent go if you are in midair during the attack. It's
extremely useful if you're in a tight spot or low on stamina. And here we go to the next thing.
Stamina Points (SP)
If you noticed, I said stamina instead of health or HP. Well, that's because there isn't any!
You'll figure out why in the next part. But that's why they're called 'Stamina Points' or 'SP' for
short. Of course, just like HP, your SP goes down when you're hit. Don't worry though, it doesn't go
down for anything else, it's just a replacement term for Health Points!
Speaking of Stamina Points, that brings us to the last thing!
Checkpoints and 'PassingOut'
Try to get to the checkpoint so you don't have to start over when you PassOut. You'll also get all
your stamina back if you touch the checkpoint! Remember how I said there are no Health Points?
Well, that's because this game doesn't use the term 'dying' in it! You just don't die.
There will never be a GameOver, or StartOver screen or whatever. Just keep going until you give up!
Also, if you feel like you need to go back to that goshdarn hard level, if you received a checkpoint in
it, you can save the game and go back to it any time, even if you shut off the game!!
There will be up to 6 checkpoints in a level, so yay for those!!
The reason for no 'deaths' is so the owner of a character doesn't complain and say something like, 'Hey!
My character can't die because [they are] immortal!' or whatever the heck.
Since, actually, that's what I would say for Dra, because he literally cannot die.
But that's only for the 2D portion of the game! There are so many other things I have to go over for the 3D, open-world part of it!!
I'll let you know what there will be in the 3D aspect of the game mechanics later on!!
And that's all I have for the game mechanics! Phew, that took like 3 hours to write. JEEZ!!

Some updates on FoaD [7/7/16]
Posted 9 years agoSo there are a few things I want to address.
Since most of the people I let have their character(s) in the game have nsfw art on their accounts
(yes, I have checked), I have decided that credit will go to the character owners' chosen alias, which
cannot be their profile name. Because of this, I will also not be linking anyone's FA page in the credits.
I just can't do it. Mainly because I want it to be at most an E10+ game. And if some kid, who likes the
game/characters, goes to someone's account and sees something nsfw somehow, I'll be blamed by
whatever company lets me have my game on their console(s). I don't want that. Especially if it's
Nintendo, cuz that's my dream company to have my game(s) associated with. So, if you don't like
that, fine. But you guys need to understand that I can't show people, especially minors, your account
if you have nsfw material. Its kinda like this (just an example, none of this is real): Kid watches
Supercoolman, kid loves Supercoolman, kid looks up the owner of Supercoolman, kid finds owner's
art account, kid finds super gross nsfw stuff of Supercoolman from the owner of Supercoolman, kid is scarred for life.
See what I'm getting at? That's not something I want.
So, really, I can't do that.
Next thing, I've been behind on making updates. Well, my father thought it was a great idea to take
my phone even though he knows I have a job, so that's what happened. There will not be one today,
just a link to this journal and that's it.
The final thing is some good news. This weekend, I'll be able to get my computer up and running,
and then I can install some Animation Software or something so I can get started on the anime.
I also might start streaming soon on Twitch for gaming, animating,
or just talking about whatever you want. Once that's started up,
I'll send out a journal, or a random art that says I'm streaming.
Only bad news for me is: In order for this to happen, I need to cut my hair D:
I frickin' love my hair, but I guess I'll need to regrow it, cuz when I'm outside, I get really tired.
Especially since it's summer. I think I might dye the tips red or something. But whatever. Yea.

Posted 9 years agoI just bought a red New 3DS XL and I figured out recently
that you can't use the same NNID for both.
Should I transfer all my data to the New one and make
a new NNID on the old 3DS, or make a new NNID on the New one.
But I'll still have to give all my friends a new Friend Code to put in.
I'm not doing anything about it until I get the New 3DS; it should
be coming in the mail in the next few days.

I don't have money to make a game, so if you'd like to see a show, you can follow me at

the next week or so, so that's EXCITING!

Flare_the_dragon_fox_hybridI'm accepting only these five (5) users' characters at this time. Here is a small bit of information that you might want to know (this information applies to every character accepted in the game):
There are 3 different classes. You can either be Swordsman, Fist-Fighter, or Gunman. Swordsman has access to multiple swords, clubs, and flails. Fist-Fighter uses only their fists, but sometimes can equip various kinds of Knuckle Gloves. And the Gunman uses all kinds of Firearms, Boomerang-like objects, or Grappling Hooks. However, you may also choose All-Around, which can use every single item in the game, which includes hammers, swords, guns, knuckles, and grapples. All-Around characters jump the highest, and lower down the line, in order of highest to lowest is: Gunman, Fist-Fighter, and Swordsman. But there's technically a fourth class, called the Hybrid-Class, which is meant specifically for hybrids, or characters that just don't seem to for in with the other classes. Usually, this class utilizes the hybrid's anatomy for a specific combat style.
Each character in the game get all of the following: a short theme that plays when you meet the character; a 2D 16bit character; a 3D HD version of the character; a victory theme made only for that character; special moves unique to the character; their own version of the levels, 'Peaceful Garden' and 'Crafty Canvas'; and a Darc Soul version of their self.
Some info on the Available Modes:
"Rack It, Racket, Smack It" a mode where you try to break as many things as possible within the time limit, which gets lower depending on the difficulty.
"Herp the Derp" a mode where you do whatever you can to get points. You can dash dance, jump up as high as you can, or literally just stand there (but that doesn't give you a lot of points), or you can do all of that! The time limit gets lower, and hazards start appearing when the difficulty is raised.
"Hero's Play" a mode where you fight holographic version of enemies all over the game! And you don't need to stop between levels, either. You can keep going until you feel like stopping on your own. It's a great way to practice combos, upgrade your stats faster, and mess with your head in puzzling ways!
"Fight or Flight" a mode similar to the popular Nintendo game, "Super Smash Bros." but with a slight twist. Of course, only characters from "Flight of a Dragon" will be playable (including DLC characters), but there are no boundaries that KO you on the edges of the screen... well, there are, just they are clearly shown. Instead of PassingOut when you fall off the screen, you will come back onto the screen from the opposite side (kind of like in Doodle Jump, or Balloon Fight.
"Shnargle Dar" a mode that is only playable with Dra, since he was the one who created it. Cross your arms in different ways to fill up your Power Bar. Once the time Limit reaches it's end, watch Dra hit a ball in different ways (depending on the power) as far as he can!
Also, I've started up an automatic email service that will send out reminders for the game. It won't let me see ANY names, nor emails. All you have to do is send your FA username to dra.machi.flight[at]gmail.com I will only see the username provided. If I recognize it, I will type 'Verified' and it will automatically start sending you weekly emails on Thursdays between 12pm and 6pm EST (DST if available). If you want to subscribe, either type your Username, or send a link to your account here on FA. I would love for all of you to do so, but you are not required.

Posted 9 years agoAnyone who's been accepted into the game in any way, must choose a character that has not been used inappropriately by the owner. So herms, and the like, are not allowed. So a select few who know they've entered that kind of character, please step up and send me a different one.
This also includes characters used with the idea that they actually have private areas.
The reason for this is cuz I will be putting the owners' of each character in the credits.

Also, the game has been delayed until after a different game I'm developing. Don't worry, everything we've worked for won't have gone to waste. It's actually a good thing we got this out of the way at this point. I will, however, continue to update you on the progress, of the new game (title will be announced later on) and Flight of a Dragon, and continue to add new features, characters and NPCs. So, let's start with the rules, then the deetz shall commence....
NUMBER ONE RULE: ABSOLUTELY NO NSFW
ALLOWED! This is an E rated to E10+ rated game,
and I want to keep it that way.
2. No bullying/hate/complaining. It's really not needed.
3. You must include a ref and the following
phrase, "Life is but a Flying Shame."
4. The character can't be too complicated
(for example, if the character has extremely intricate details, etc.),
if I think it is, I'll tell you to choose something else.
However, if you think your intricate character will be fun for me to make in 8bit,
please show me the ref for the character.
5. It has to be a reference sheet. Unless you have
pictures of the back of the character
(which has to be exactly how you see
your character, since this is for a game)
in which case, is perfectly okay as long as it shows enough.
I may ask for more, so keep that in mind.
6. When I reply to your comment, you are required to reply back,
or else you might miss something important.
7. You must include details your character would be perfect for explaining.
(for example, the character would do perfect telling the player how to play/
what to do in trouble/about saving the game/being totally random, etc.)
(I will choose basically what they will say,
then tell you so you can change it up to their personality).
8. If you join, you are giving me partial use of your character,
where I can do what I want with them (sfw reasons only).
I want you to know this because this is pretty important stuff to know.
An NPC is any character controlled by the computer through artificial intelligence or a
character the player talks to in-game to get information.
What I need are characters that Dra,
(or any other playable characters)
can talk with to get information, learn useful tips, or just say something insignificant.
Some NPCs are crutial to the game's storyline, but not required. However, some are required.
The required ones will be of my choosing.

if you need to change your character,
or if you are a required NPC.

1. Nyooh - The player can buy stat upgrades from Nyooh, if they have something adequate to trade for it. If you buy
enough, it'll give you a very useful tip when playing (not crappy ones like, if you pause, you can change the settings;
more like, if you jump then use an upward air attack, you can jump again to gain more height.).

2. Butler - The player receives useful information that no other NPC knows of. Butler also explains the rules of the training mode: Hero's Play; and the minigames: 'Herp the Derp' and 'Racket, Rack It, Smack It!'
