Very sad to hear the news about  dragoneer this morning.

Without this site I wouldn't have met many awesome people. Without this site I probably wouldn't have attempted my art. Without this site I wouldn't have the audience I have.

So 'Thank You'.

I actually met Dragoneer briefly at FAU 2018. He helped me when I was experiencing problems booked the convention ticket. He helped make this Brit feel welcome in a strange country on his first trip abroad.

I shall remember him as a very gracious convention host and of course as he himself wished to be remembered, Violently Purple.

Godspeed, you will be missed.

Well it's that time of year again.
I'm looking forward to this one, mostly because reliable if aging car is in top condition for the trip.
(Two years ago I'd hit a deer at some speed and the front was hanging off, last year I had a fault with the headlights which made driving at night something of a challenge.)
But this year everything is looking good, even the weather looks like it will cooperate.
I'm looking forward to who I'll see, what is running this year, and of course, how quickly the contents of my wallet with evaporate once I'm in the dealers den.

So, outside or some very overdue uploads I’ve been a bit quiet lately. Nothing has really been up just last year was a bit flat on the creative side of things. If all goes to plan I have a few projects I’m planning on working on this year.
More stand alone art.
Practice with some other mediums (I really want to try my hand at Watercolours and Oils again)
I have a few short comics in the pipeline, the first is planned to be Kathleen in ‘Nothing To Hide’ starting work on that this week.
A few others I’ll be getting commissioned
Things are going to continue to be slow for the next few months, February in particular, First week I’m heading to ScotiaCon, last week I’ve been unpleasantly surprised by a court summons…
…I’m needed for jury service which is something of a monumental pain in the fundament, however it could be interesting.
After this I should have more time and motivation to pursue artistic interests and I look forward to sharing them with you.

Just a small update since I've been pretty quiet lately.
I haven't really had the time to do art or much of anything owing to work commitments. The joy of working in the delivery sector is we are pretty hard pressed from about mid November to early January. In addition we were hit by quite a severe storm a few weeks ago which knocked out the power for a week and took out the phone mast I use for internet use.

On the plus side I have many ideas for stories involving my characters, ranging from porn pun commissions to full length stories.

I'm also hoping to get down to Scotiacon this year (lockdown rules permitted) and I'm hoping to take a holiday as well, I kind of need one since my last was 2018.

Yes it’s back, and this year I’m following the prompts.

I’m aiming to do the whole thing but I’m a bit busier this year than I was last year so the update schedule might be a bit off. However there are certain ones I ‘really’ want to do. Plus with some there should be an ongoing story featuring a few characters kindly loaned to me.

So here’s hoping and I’ll see you all at the end.

I don’t really have a schedule yet, or any idea what I’m doing. The equipment is very Heath Robinson (A mobile phone bolted to an old camera tripod) but it works for now, as things go on I may invest in a more professional set-up.

A stream (should) consist of:-
-Traditional Art!

-Music!

-Equipment Failures! (Accompanied by muted sweary words)

-Me Talking! (Unless people find that irritating in which case I’ll be quiet)

-Digital Art! (If I can figure out how to do that and my laptop had the power to run my paint program)

If I remember I’ll put a banner up before a stream, since as I said the schedule is pretty much ‘Whenever’.

A year ago I decided (possibly foolishly) to do a 365 challenge. Today (14.4.2020) is the final day of said challenge and I am happy to say it is all done, or at least all the sketches are done.
I have a little bit of inking and colouring to do before the last forty of so are uploaded but the challenge has been achieved.

In the last year I suffered art block twice for a total of twelve weeks and a few other delays. I’m looking forward to getting everything finished and seeing just how much material I have used doing this (Sketchbooks, ink drawings, hard drive space etc…)

I’ve got a few other projects that have cropped up while doing this which will need to be finished then I can move on to what ever comes next, (Hopefully some comics featuring some of the characters introduced and finish the writing I started).

I’m off down to ScotiaCon today, I’m really looking forward to it. The weather has been a bit questionable today so the drive could be interesting. I’m hoping to get a table in the Artist’s Alley on the Saturday and meet up with the awesome people there.

I should have updated this a while ago.
I’m back, I had a great time, it’s nice to visit my old stomping grounds. I got lots of inspiration for pictures, particularly out in the countryside.

I’m opening up an ‘Ask the Cast’ thingy, just for fun.
So if you have a question for any of my misfits feel free to ask.

So there won't be any updates for a week. I'm spending a few days down in Northumberland, I'll have my drawing stuff with me but I won't have access to a scanner. I'm hoping to get some life drawing practice in of the countryside and some of the villages in the area.
This is also a chance to do a dry run of move my drawing setup before Scotiacon next month (it would be embarrassing to show up and realise I'd left all my black pens at home).
I'll be checking in from time to time.

Good news! I’m not dead!

I’ve had a busy summer and some connection problems from my WiFi so I’ve kind of been limited to using the 4G on the phone. I’ve managed to get a lot of drawing done, it’s now just a case of processing them and uploading.

I’ll be at ScotiaCon again this year, I’m hoping to get a table in the Artists Alley (not nervous in the slightest…)

So as most of you know I am doing a 365 challenge, and I am thundering towards the rather infamous number 69.
I thought it would be fun to hear your suggestions and draw some of my characters reacting to those suggestions.

But it feels good. I’m going to have a crack at a 365 challenge, so one sketch (Pencil, ink, full colour) a day for the next year in an effort to improve some of my problem areas (hands, eyes etc…). Two down only….
