Genuine journal (for once)

What's the 'best' (re: preferred) way to post stories here? I was using .txt files for awhile but the last update kinda made them load like ass. I've been using .pdf formats but should I also be attaching the story in the description? I've seen other writers doing both or either, so just trying to figure out what you all consider the 'best' way to do it?
