GeoHolmsTime for a long overdue account move. Only a very few people have ever called me Traxer, and the only evidence that I even attempted to go by Traxer is this account, so may as well move over to GeoHolms, like I should have years ago.
If you're still following me, hope you'll follow me there. I'll try posting more stuff, but i know better than to make promises.
See you about, peeps.

GeoHolmsUpdate on Stuff (2020 Edition) and Story Recaps
General | Posted 6 years agoHey there peeps! Long time, no journal. Has been a crazy four years since the last journal. Still have the (hopefully) better job that I got back in the last journal, which is moving to a new setting. And recently moved from the East back to the West. Woo.
Art stuff has been on hiatus while figuring out some stuff, but the last year I posted an unusual amount of stories. Some had been fermenting for a bit, some had been started and completed within 2019. If you want to check them out, feel free. I think they're all pretty neat, if some are a bit more mature than you'd expect from a innocent ol' raccoon like myself. I'll go ahead and recap them.
Finished the long gestating dog/horse body swap tale I'd done with Hobbesdawg's characters. Starts with Walk in Another's Hooves (posted a while back) and carries on with three more parts (all posted this year).
With Quick Trip(s) did a quirky inanimate TF multiverse tale (with some vulpine cloning in the background). Staring the awesome Alkali, ferret-hybrid abomination Regi J. Tesla, and mischievous foxie Rex Plushpaw.
Also staring Regi J. Tesla is the tale Mope'd, which also stars Blackwell and guest stars corgwn (and I'm still proud of that story title).
A Roadkill Ghost Story is the ghost roadkill raccoon story I've always wanted to take a shot at. Starts as something of an homage to creepy pastas, but quickly turns towards something more quirky (if still strange).
Lastly, another story I'm proud of the title: In Like a Lapin, Out Like a Lupine about two rabbit friends coming out about some secrets. Plays with some concepts I've been meaning to play with for a long while and I think it turned out pretty darn cute. There's a companion story that's mostly done, that I'm just fiddling with the ending.
I'm hoping 2020 is the year that I get my stuff together and start producing stuff more consistently, but we shall see. I'm also debating finally moving my account over to GeoHolms but shall announce that if I do. (Debating posting a bunch of old commissions that I want saved in one location first.)
Best wishes, good peeps!

Update on Stuff
General | Posted 10 years ago2015: That certainly was a year. Got married. Moved from the West to the East. Had some Adventures in Print Retail. Recently got a new (hopefully) better job.
Story Commissions: In the process of finishing up the the third of the three story commissions I took. The first two have been posted. The Incredible Shrinking Fox for atimist and In the Center Ring for gckami . Will I do more? Maybe. I don't think I will officially open up for commissions for a long time, or at least until I'm at a point where I write consistently. However, you can drop me a note and ask if you wish to check. If you have a good idea, and I think I can do it justice, I may consider giving it a shot.
Art: Lots of pointless sketches of stuff and things.
Was going to update on other stuff, but forgot what. Keep cool, peeps.

Body Swap Survey - Characters Needed
General | Posted 10 years agoSlowly making my way through the story commissions and also plotting things on the side. One of the things I've been plotting is collecting characters for body swap situations.
I like writing body swap situations, but sometimes tricky to come up with characters, which is where you come in. If you wish, you can fill out this survey In Character with information about a character of your choosing.
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1k5.....29532278734054
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1k5.....29532278734054
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1k5.....29532278734054
Doesn't necessarily have to be your fursona or existing character, could just be some character you've made up you think would be amusing to see in a body swap tale. Submitting a character doesn't necessarily mean I'll use that character, but I certainly shall try.
So, go ahead, take a look at the survey, fill out the information, and see what my schemey paws get up to in the future.
Thanks, peeps.

Story Commissions
General | Posted 10 years agoCommission Details*
* Cost will be $10 per 1000 words, paid after story completed.
* Will send preview once halfway done with story so you can give input. Once full rough draft completed, will request payment before story sent to you.
* Edits can be requested at halfway point and after full rough draft presented. Feel free to communicate any changes necessary.
* Story Content - G to R rating. Willing to be flexible with content. Most of my stories so far have been transformation related with a quirky tone, but I'm willing to try different types of stories. If you're not sure if I'll be able to do something, just ask and I'll let you know. (You can look at my past stories to get a sense of my writing style and see if it fits for you.)
* NOTE: Since this is the first time I've opened for commissions and uncertain of how this will work, turnaround time could be long. Patience recommended if you commission.

AlkaliROCKET! - Rough GotG Review
General | Posted 11 years agoROCKET IS THE BEST CHARACTER EVERY. HE'S SO HANDSOME AND CLEVER AND A DAMAGED CREATURE AND OH GODS I WANNA GIVE HIM A HUG. AAAAAAA *CHIRRRRRRRRRRRR*
*coughs*
Now that that's out of the way, I can functionally talk about Guardians of the Galaxy. Depending on your tastes and sense of humor, this is the best damn time you're going to have at the movies all year.
Period.
This is like a weird unholy mix of Star Wars and Galaxy Quest and Marvel Superhero Movies and Firefly, sprinkled with a tree creature and a raccoon with a machine gun.
Oh gods, it has a raccoon with a machine gun.
I wanna snug him.
The movie is based off the 2008 run of a comic book series called Guardians of the Galaxy.
Haven't heard of it? Don't worry, no one has. Seriously. You'd be hard pressed to even find a casual comic book fan who knew about them, let alone read them. I'm exaggerating a bit...but seriously, the comic is obscure as heck. The only reason I ended up reading it was because I was following the New Adventures of Rocket Raccoon (not actual series), and he happened to join up with that group. The comic book series was fun and quirky and had great characters and had Rocket. it was the best.
But you don't need to know about it to enjoy this movie.
The plot is something about Star-Lord finding a Orb of MacGuffin and then him, and a scattered group of characters, being dragged by the Vortex of Plot into a series of action-adventure misadventures in very pretty settings.
Honestly, the plot isn't important. The characters and how they play off each other is where this movie soars. The best parts of the movie are just these oddball peeps playing off each other.
From the amazingly likable Star-Lord, to the badass trash-talking raccoon-like creature Rocket, to the adorable tree-creature Groot, to the what-the-hell-is-a-metaphor strongman Drax, to the straight-man(lady) assassin Gamora. They are all wonderful in their own ways and how they deal with the situation and how they do what they do. I adore them all.
And oh gods Rocket like is the best ever. He's everything I ever wanted the character to be on screen...he's a damaged little creature who's snarky and bitey and stuffed full of one-liners and you will want to give him a hug multiple times as the movie transpires. He's the best little raccoon ever.
To give one con, I will admit this main weakness is the villains. They will sort of just there and kinda being villains and little else. But how the crescendo of villainess was countered by the heroes made it all worthwhile.
Guardians of the Galaxy was fantastic and has skyrocked to my favorite Marvel movie. The fact they have taken my favorite comic and favorite characters to make a great movie has surprised and smitten me, and I will adore this movie for a long time. Plus, movie gave me dazzling scenery to froth over and at least a half dozen action sequences of prettiness. This is everything a superhero-space-sci-fi-epic should be and then some. I cannot wait until the sequel comes around because it has the possibility of being even more amazing than this one.
Now excuse me. I gotta go watch the movie again. (I saw it four times this weekend.)

Guardians of the Galaxy!!!!
General | Posted 11 years agoHave I said how much I’m looking forward to that Guardians of the Galaxy movie?
Yes? I may have mentioned a few times in my Twitter feed? Mmm?
Too bad. Talking about it again. I love they are making this movie, I love all the news I’ve heard about it, I love the look of the character, I love the tone of the advertising, I love every detail I’ve scavenged about this film so far. Nothing has mademe question it’s quality and quirkiness and overall awesomeness.
I haven’t been this excited and obessed about a movie since Lilo & Stitch in 2002. (Lilo & Stitch still has my favorite marketing campaign of all time, but GotG is doing a pretty good job with theirs so far.)
I only worry that I’m getting my expectations so high that I’m doomed to be disappointed. I have a lot of emotional investment in Guardians of the Galaxy, and in particular Rocket Raccoon, and no amount of news or reviews will alleviate my fears that Imay not like it as much as I hope. The only confirmation I will believe is my own opinion after those credits roll. (And even then, may take 3-4 viewings to know for sure.)
I’m trying to keep with my core thought of “OH GODS THEY ARE MEAKING A GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY MOVIE!!!!!” This fact has been making me happy whenever I pause and reflect the last year or so, and this happiness has been growing with each piece of proofthat they are actually making the film. (I keep suspecting this is all some elaborate joke the universe is playing upon me and reality will reset any moment.)
I’ve been debating how to properly rant and rave about my obsession with GotG and Rocket Raccoon, and there’s a littering of half-baked thoughts I’ve yet to clean up and post. The topics of these include:
*The awesome original 2008 run of Guardians of the Galaxy
*GotG 2008 comic run vs. GotG current comic run (AKA: why I think the current GotG series is meh)
*Rocket Raccoon
*Trailer Obsessions
*The Rocket Raccoon Hangers-On
*General movie thoughts
If I actually will polish and post any of these thoughts is questionable…
BUT if you do want me to rant about any of these topics or want to ask me direct questions about my opinions, just comment below and I’ll be happy to babble at you. (My dingo would be happy if I had another outlet for my ramblings.)

Internet Break and Drawing Requests
General | Posted 11 years agoHi I think I’m going to take a little break from the Internet. At least, non-white Internet and maybe limiting even that. Maybe one of those finding-yourself life-journey sort of deals. There’s no event prompting me to take a break or anything, just have been meaning to try it for a while. The Internet is cozy andnice, but there are so many other things I could be doing instead, that I would like to try doing those things.
Among those things are: drawing, writing, reading, and even video gaming perhaps.
Maybe this will not work. Perhaps I will be back within a week (or, more likely, two days). But, wanna give it a shot.
Before I go however, would like to get some drawing requests from you peeps. Always like the excuse to draw characters that are not my own. Can’t promise that I will complete all sketches, or even complete them soon, but giving a request or reference orjust general idea would be much appreciated.
Thanks peeps!

Rocket Raccoon!!!!
General | Posted 12 years agoExcuse me while I watch this gif forever.
http://tiltonraccoon.com/misc/rocketraccoon_2.gif
I really can't tell you how happy I am that this character is going to the big screen in a quirky over-the-topic action-comedy space adventure. Not just because he's a raccoon, but he could be an absolutely brilliant character if played right. The whole cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy are brilliant, and to see them get highlighted in a big Marvel summer film is completely beyond my expectations.
And I'm just letting myself get really hopefully that they will animate Rocket in a nifty way. He really is an awesome raccooner.
Check out the leaked clip if it hasn't been taken down yet.

More Notes on the Loose Ferrets Hiatus
General | Posted 12 years agoTechnically, Loose Ferrets has been on hiatus since January 15th. The comic briefly, sporadically, came back in May, then tapered off in July once again. This has weighed on my creative soul greatly. Loose Ferrets was my grand accomplishment for over two years, though I was lazy in writing and other art, reading and recording, I always could hold Loose Ferrets up and say "Hey! At least I'm productive with this!"
Wyoming was a blessing and curse. I was isolated from human interaction. There was no person there my age that I could relate to, no one I could really chat with. The only reason I stayed in Wyoming as long as I did was family. They lent a foundation to which otherwise would have been a desperate situation. In some ways, it was a desperate situation. One can only chat with family about so much. I was lonely. I was occasionally depressed. I couldn't voice these concerns to my family, otherwise they would have been hurt. I needed an outlet. I needed a way to get out my thoughts. I needed a hobby. I took to walking and drawing a webcomic.
The walking helped burn off frustrations and energy. The drawing helped me feel accomplished and gave comfort to my soul. These things helped me through the first two years in Wyoming.
However, in my second year in Wyoming, things were changing for me. I started to make some good friends in Salt Lake City, despite being two hours away. So more and more weekends, I spent less time in Wyoming, and more time traveling to spend time with friends. Still, the premise of friends is strange to me. The thought that people would want to actually want to spend time with me seems unbelievable to me. For most of my life, true friends have been a foreign concept for me. I've had people I've hung out with, people I've chatted with, but rarely anyone who would go out of their way to want me to be part of their lives.
I value my friends greatly. It was this, I think, that caused the relationship with my family to fracture. The center of most my life has been family. When my family saw that I was making friends who I trusted, who I wanted to hang out with most weekends, I believe they were hurt. Hurt by the fact that there were other people I cared about, perhaps more than them. I may have missed how much it hurt them.
However, I digress.
As time went on, the main purpose of Loose Ferrets faded away. I worked on the comic to fill in the hours on something besides click through the molasses speeds of Wyoming Internet. I believe I did the comic so my weekends were not filled with introspection. Loose Ferrets, though I didn't know it at the time, was my defense mechanism to deal with my loneliness. It was nice to anthromorphize the quirks of my mind into a comic form. It was fun to see what I could do with all these characters, who were thinly veiled archetypes of my psyche. Loose Ferrets gave me something to strive towards.
Now, I am no longer lonely. I am much less depressed than I was three years back. I have great friends. I have a boyfriend who I adore very much. I live in a city, in a nice apartment on the edge of town, where I'm able to reflectively look at the mountains from any window. I have a job, which the jury is still out on if it will suit me long-term. In some ways, I'm a much different person than I was three years ago, in some ways, I'm exactly the same.
My life is not without quirks. I'm still trying to figure out who I am as both a person and an artist. I have flaws I'm trying to smooth out, or at least work to my advantage. I have responsibilities that I'm trying to balance. I may not be as optimistic and quirky as I was three years back, but I'm not as depressed and morose either. Maybe I have balanced out in some ways.
In any case, every single reason that Loose Ferrets was started has faded to the background. Don't get me wrong, I do want to continue the story, but I need to figure out how and why before I do so. Loose Ferrets is very special to me, and I want to be the artist it deserves. Yes, maybe that's code for it will never return, but I sincerely hope not. I have grand ideas for where it shall go. I'd had to leave it where it is, when there's so much I want it to do before it ends.
Loose Ferrets is a odd little personal story, of an artist trying to get by. It never had the best art. It never had a big audience. It never had the most quality writing. And yet I loved doing Loose Ferrets. No. I love doing Loose Ferrets. The ferrets will scamper on, sooner or later. It deserves the chance to keep swooping onwards.

[Rather I think that it was up for long enough for me.]
[There wasn't actually anything in the journal that I was embarrassed of.]
[I'm just really nervous about posting personal journals on FA for some reason and I don't know why.]
[I'm better at being vague... ^^; ]

[There wasn't actually anything in the journal that I was embarrassed of.]
[I'm just really nervous about posting personal journals on FA for some reason and I don't know why.]

Questions for a Steampunk Ferret Hybrid
General | Posted 13 years agoOver a year ago, I made a little video featuring my odd little character, Regi Tesla. I asked questions to the Internet, I filmed responses, and made about three videos before I got distracted by things.
In fact, here are the vids.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FL1JKbYpVI&feature=plcp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUB2pYzkCB8&feature=plcp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpgjy7xT2JM&feature=plcp
They aren't fancy, the production quality is questionable, and yeah, it's mysterious that Regi's jaw doesn't move (and only a few of the ten questions were answered...) That's not keeping me from considering having Regi's odd brand of quirkiness be filmed again.
So, I open up the suggestion box. Submit whatever random questions you want Regi Tesla to attempt to answer, random topics, or random things you think Regi ought to do.
Give me your best shot, peeps. You may also send things to regitesla[at]gmail.com if you wish.

Things Learned at Midwest Furfest 2012
General | Posted 13 years ago- Fursuiting is a hell of a drug
- If fursuiting is a drug, I've learned I am totally a drug dealer. My coyote has a new home and I wish him the very best. I think he will get some much more use now. And that's a swish.
- I have never had as much fun fursuiting at a con since Anthrocon 2011. I literally was having withdrawal when it went too long between suitings.
- It is better to hang with a few peeps than attempt to hang with All The Peeps. A con has a limited scope of time. Just play with it casually as you can. (I actually played with it casually, which is why I think I had such a fantastic con)
- Riding an inflatable husky is fun. (Note: No, not /that/ way, ya dirty furry)
- Going to one great party or hanging with a few good peeps is better than going to a series of random sub-par parties. Makes being drunk easier.
- I need to reboot my handpaws. The original ones are getting worn out. (Regi fiddles with ALL THE THINGS!)
- Beer actually has flavors. And there's such a thing as good beer!
- Same for whiskey. Though still have some learning to do on that.
- I act more drunk while sober in suit than drunk in suit.
- When you meet someone for the first time, and they order a beer, you should also order a beer (no matter how much you may love girly drinks).
- Girly drinks do give a good layout of my personality though.
- No matter the delirious temptation, do not push an old lady down the stairs during a fire alarm. (This didn't happen...just saying...)
- If hosting a panel, use notes. I hosted the Raccoon Manual panel and should have used the same pattern as the Twitter account, rather than a different one. Next time shall be better!
- Having a ferret nose is the bestest
- *dookdookdook*
- Robin Hood = worse movie ever. I thought it wasn't /that/ bad in theaters. In late-night viewing with peeps...wow. THE ENTIRE LAST SCENE WAS MEDIEVAL "SAVING PRIVATE RYAN"!
- "And Then There Were Bees" was a little-known ditty by Alan Doyle cut from Robin Hood.
- If you have a check-in bag, you need to arrive at the airport an hour before.
- Even when panicked that I missed my flight, in a moment of extreme stress, I still use my series of G-rated swears. (Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot!)
- AirportCon made up for missing the flight. Got to chat with some awesome peeps and relax. :3
- Midwest Furfest 2012 was the best con experience I've ever had. It will be /really/ hard for future replicate it or exceed it.
Special thanks to DakotaWuff, FarallonOtter, BuckHopper, SpazzFox, VermyFox, Ipequey, Xadafor, DarioMouse and all the others who I should remember but won't until about two weeks from now or more. Seriously, if we met and chatted...I may have forgotten. Let me know. ^^;

Should I Open Commissions?
General | Posted 13 years agoI don't think I will do this for a good while, but wanted to ask: if I were to open myself up to commissions, would anyone be interested?
I wish FA had polls so this wasn't such an usually short entry...

Things Learned on Bay Area Quest 2012
General | Posted 13 years agoI didn't think I would take this trip. For about a month before, I was being very flaky. It wasn't until roughly five days before that I decided I was going. It wasn't until I entered San Francisco that I believed I was going. In all, I'm glad I made the jump. Here are a few of the things I learned.
1. I never lost my obsession with Lilo & Stitch. It has just lay dormant, waiting to be unleashed upon someone. I somehow forgot how much I loved the film (and that I apparently have over 75% of the lines memorized).
2. A proper living area should be filled with things to look at and notice, showing personality and interests.
3. Finding a parking place in San Francisco sucks. In related news, I took a crash course in parallel parking in tight spaces.
4. A car isn't needed to visit San Francisco. Walking and public transportation will do the trick. I also found, once again, my walking stamina is impressive.
5. Creative ice cream flavors done right are Wonderful. I recommend Humphry Slocombe to anyone who wants non-conventional ice cream with a kick. My personal favorite was a close race between peanut butter curry and butter beer. Their staple is Secret Breakfast which is bourbon and corn flakes (worth at least a taste).
6. Blue Bottle Coffee poured coffee on a few scoops of ice cream and it was the Tastiest Thing Ever...until it was overshadowed by Humphry Slocombe a few hours later. (Humphry Slocombe also has a Blue Bottle Coffee flavor, I believe)
7. I never thought a Sushirrito (sushi + burrito) would be so good. It's pretty much a whole sushi roll served to you, but with more materials inside. My Cali Loco with fried cream cheese at it's center was lovely.
8. If you drink and like cocktails, SingleBarrel in San Jose is the place you need to visit. I have never had a more pleasant experience at a bar. Our server made cocktail mixing look like a dance, adding a bit of Bill-Nye explanation flair to any drink served. Plus, all the drinks were fantastic (Blood & Sand, Monarch, and the Hotel Pillow Flip).
9. The Winchester Mansion does not look at scary without blurry film work, crooked camera angles, and a weird narrator...but still a cool stop. If I'm ever a tour guide, it'd be worthwhile for making dumb jokes alone. :3
10. Out of left field plans can be nice. At the last second, decided to stop by Furries in the Wild 2 in Oakland. Met a lot of peeps briefly and had a good time overall. Don't know if I'll remember them all (or they will remember me), but connected to as many via Twitter as I could. Strangely enough I was the only furry from Wyoming there.
11. All Dogs Go to Heaven is a hilariously odd movie and, apparently, the only thing I remembered about it was the characters' names. Considering how little I remembered, I'm not sure I even watched it as a kid. (Heck, I remembered at least /pieces/ of Rock a Doodle Do.)
12. I would totally watch another sequel of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure if both Keanu Reeves and Fred Winters came back.
13. Otters are still the bestest.
14. Absinthe is not meant to be swigged.
15. It's impressive how much distance (joke-wise) a couple of furries can get out of a drink called The Knot.
16. Good friends can turn any vacation from "good" to "brilliant"
17. The trip back from vacation is Much Longer than the trip there. I am definitely either taking someone with me or splitting the trip into two days next time.
18. Elko, Nevada smells like a gas station restroom.
19. Takes a long time to walk over and back on the Golden Gate Bridge (which apparently is held up by gorillas and elephants...)
In closing, I have to thank Julian, my non-furry friend, for contributing his endless knowledge of San Francisco locations to led me about and told me all the information in-between. I also have to thank Farallon Otter for letting me couch-crash and his general awesome nice-ness. It wouldn't have been half as nice a trip without them.
And now I'm gonna slump over.

Short Furry Fiesta Recap
General | Posted 14 years agoFurry Fiesta was by far the best convention I've been to.
I admit this might be skewed because Regi had digitigrade legs and a ruddertail to wag about and I got to hang out with so many awesome peeps and....well...really just went great all in all. I loved the atmosphere and the panels and the fursuits. Furry Fiesta is totally an up and coming con and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a different furcon to crash.
I'd go through all the peeps I met...but I know I'm gonna forget quite a few...I'll try and figure it out to add later.
Great meeting all you peeps and thanks for the great con. I hope to see ye next time. :3

AnthroCon Adventures of Doom
General | Posted 14 years agoI'm going to my first AnthroCon. Since the plans for this were made at the end of May, I don't think the reality has caught up with me.
Where Will I Be?
Around. Wandering aimlessly. Attending panels. Anyway: There are two ways you may spot me.
A) I will be the fellow with the red newsboy cap (which, oddly enough, looks Very Similar to Mario's hat
B) I will be a blue-nosed ferrety thing going by the name of Regi. He's adorable. You can't miss him. He's exceptionally fuzzy.
What Will I Be Doing?
Similar to the previous answer. Wandering. Perhaps I'll meet up with peeps. I really Have No Idea. I'm playing this by ear and if you are so tempted to be like "Hey! You! Let's do something!" I'd be willing.
As long as its not something strange. I have my standards.
Anything else?
Wish me luck. If I run into a fan of Loose Ferrets it would totally make my weekend. ;3

Questions for a Steampunk Ferret Hybrid
General | Posted 14 years agoIf you could ask a steampunk ferret-hybrid named Regi Tesla (who is currently stuck in modern-day) a question, what would it be?
Now is your chance. The stranger the questions, the better. And no question is too boring or strange. (But Regi is a PG beastie so there be some standards.)
Thanks for your help! I shall pass on the questions to Regi as soon as possible.
