Still Alive and Kicking!
Posted 8 years agoHi all, hope things are going well! First off, thanks to the peeps who've been dropping by and looking at my work over the past weeks and months, I appreciate it!
Second, I apologize for the rather lengthy hiatus. I wasn't entirely pleased with the direction my work was going in, and I made the decision to re-evaluate my art and focus in on practice and study. I'm still rather busy on that front, but I'll try to do better about checking in in the meantime.
Have a great week!

Some other spots you can find me!
Posted 8 years agoWoop! 4500 Pageviews!
Posted 10 years agoWe ended up breezing by 4k pageviews in a hurry, and I didn't notice until it was too late to do a journal for it. <_< So I'll make up for it with one for 4.5k! Thanks a bunch for dropping by my page! I hope each and every one of you had a lovely Thanksgiving and that all of you have a safe Black Friday and good (recovery) weekend!
Also, rip my wallet. Steam dragged me into a dark alley and mugged me :<

Sketch Commissions Open, Commission Info Update!
Posted 10 years agoI figured I may as well do a journal update to commemorate this, but Sketch Commissions are currently open! I'm offering black and white sketches at $15 US and color sketches at $20 US. If you're interested, feel free to have a look at my commission submission detailing all the information. The turnaround on these should be rather quick, so I'll more than likely have multiple slots available throughout the week.
Thanks a million times over to those of you who've been interested enough in my work to drop by time and again, and I hope that we'll be heading towards the end of the year on a high note!

Shoutout to malfunctioning A/C
Posted 10 years agoHello peeps! So, originally part of my hiatus was due to visiting family during the Labor Day weekend, meaning no computer access for several days. Now that I am back, however, it seems the A/C unit has given up the ghost. Twice. My computer's inner workings are just getting far too hot for me to be able to do much work, so unfortunately I may have to hold off on submissions until it's fixed. For point of reference, it was consistently sitting around and above 32 degrees celsius inside our house.
Sorry for the delay!

A bit of an update, and a change in gears
Posted 10 years agoHello peeps! It's been quite a while. Since my last submission I finished up a project that had been looming over my head for quite some time, and have started the process of working my way through some issues I see with my art. If you happen to be curious about the lack of content, it's mainly due to most of my work being (at least in my view) a bit irrelevant to the site, and so I've kept much of it to myself. However, as I work on some of these things, I feel I should start uploading again! So with that in mind I'll be switching over from uploading more finished work to showing mainly my sketches, studies, and process, since those will be forming the bulk of what I do during the week. I'll also shift gears on the commission front:For the time being, I'll only be offering sketches, which will start at $15 US.
Thanks for sticking it out with me through all of this. You're all lovely people! :D

Woo! I'm 24!
Posted 10 years agoIt's my birthday today! Sadly won't be able to do much to celebrate it due to some things that have come up, but still! There's been a lot of changes in both my personal life and my general attitude since this date last came around, and I want to thank you all for the continued support. I'm currently working on a deeply personal project that's been on my mind a few years, but once that's finished up I'll get back into producing other content.
Also, because I'm a derp and didn't even realize, thanks for the 300+ watches and 4k pageviews!

Breaks (and proper posture) are important! Aka elbow pain :<
Posted 10 years agoSo, I had the brilliant idea to fuss about in some software for most of Friday. In and of itself, not a bad thing, but I also decided that breaks are for people smarter than I am and that proper posture whilst working for lengthy periods was a thing best left to...more people who are also smarter than I am. Today didn't end up being a particularly productive day artwise unfortunately, but we'll see if I can make some adjustments on tomorrow!
Have a good weekend! o/

Commissions are open, and a word about dinos.
Posted 10 years agoOkay, the last part is only half true, but it has to do with some information other artists--and possibly art enthusiasts--may find useful.
With regards to the commissions, I'll be keeping it to three slots open and any given time for now, and offered on a first-come first-served basis. With work being done on streamlining my workflow I'm hoping to lessen the time spent on individual projects, and as that happens more slots may open up. If you have an interest, please refer back to my featured submission with the commission information. (I'll be updating the examples soon, so no worries there).
In reference to the second thing, some if you may have heard of an artist named James Gurney. He's probably best known for Dinotopia, and the literal mountain if work he's produced to flesh out that world. Gurney happens to run a blog, where he posts information about the artistic project, cool links, and examples of work from various periods alongside his musings and observations. He also has two immensely useful books that those of you interested in more realistic work may find invaluable in your artistic journey: Imaginative Realism and Color and Light. The latter has some information that just about anyone may find handy, since understanding how colors interact and how to handle lighting are the sorts of tools that can really impact your work.
Gurney's blog, the Gurney Journey, can be found here: gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/
His books are available on Amazon, as well as franchise bookstores.

Setting up a tumblr, what would you like to see on it?
Posted 10 years agoHello all! Like the title suggests, I've gone and set up a tumblr. I was planning on using it for the purpose of uploading work of all types, rather than my overtly furry work exclusively, as well as things like helpful links for artists and art enthusiasts and information regarding my process. Typical blog things, I suppose! I can't say I have much of an understanding how the site works, so there's not much guarantee of what might come of this, but I'm looking for ways to interact with you all, so I'm open to any suggestions along those lines!
The blog is currently empty, but for those who may be interested in the future I'll be sure to leave a link for it in my profile!

You guys rock! :D
Posted 10 years agoGood evening all! The weekend is coming to a close rather quickly, and I hope it's gone well for each and every one of you. It's been a pretty craft couple of months for me--starting a part-time job after months of being on the hunt for work, exploring new methods of creating work, and just the general positivity of all of you lovely people who took the time out to drop by and have a look at my work. I just wanted to take the opportunity to say that I appreciate every one of you from the bottom of my heart, and that, while I can't guarantee I can get around to sending every one of you a thank-you shout, I do pay attention to who happens to be having a look at my work. Thank you all so much, and here's hoping I can produce some nice content for you all in the weeks and months to come.
Allergy Season, SO MUCH FUN. .__.
Posted 10 years agoOkay, so...yikes. I ended up being out of commission for most of the week due to a mix of sinuses, allergies, flu-like symptoms, and asthma. All in all, not a particularly fun week. Also, after dogsitting for my neighbor, the dog ended up having an accident inside. Twice. Argh. On the positive side, though, there are a few projects in the works--some dragon art, a painting based on...I suppose you could say opium dens?...and (hopefully) some fantasy art.
I'm starting to recover, so hopefully I'll be able to dedicate some more time to these things in the coming days and weeks. Thanks so much for those of you who've visited my page, left comments, faved my work, or even decided to give me a watch. I'm thankful for all the support!

Cherroo! I live! Update on my current situation
Posted 10 years agoHello ladies and gents. :> Hope your week is going well thus far!
To explain my current situation, I've not been particularly idle, in spite of the lack of art showing up in my gallery lately. I've been trying to take some time to re-evaluate my art, to get a better understanding of where my weaknesses are and what sorts of things I need to work on. Granted, the process has somewhat sapped my confidence in my abilities, but it was something that was very much going to need to be done if I were to have any hope of improving as an artist. I apologize that there's been no submissions as of late, but I assure you all that I'm still active, and am working to the utmost of my ability to be able to produce better work for you all. :>
Thanks and take care!

R.I.P Oreo the PC, I knew thee well. :c
Posted 11 years agoSo, my desktop kicked the bucket around a week or so ago, and I've been mainly doing things through the surface during the downtime. As it stands, I've ordered some replacement parts to rebuild the system in a new tower, but there's not much of a guarantee that the parts will show up before Christmas, so I may be without a desktop for a while.
While this doesn't have much of an effect on my painting--since that was done almost exclusively on the Surface--it does affect my 3d sculpting, so it may be a while before that sort of work shows up in my gallery again. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Also, on my way to see the Hobbit this evening. I'm super excited!

Posted 11 years agoHello all! Happy Fall Break to those of you who happen to currently be enrolled in school over in the States, and happy almost-weekend to those of you who aren't!
I wanted to thank you all for the 3,000 pageviews I appreciate you lot for being willing to browse my gallery, and while I haven't been able to update it as regularly as I'd like, I'm happy to see that people seem to like my stuff! Many thanks to all of you for the encouragement! :> I'm unfortunately not able to do much to celebrate it aside from continuing to produce work, since my plate is a bit full at the moment with regards to various activities. I have a rather large project underway, alongside several smaller ones that I'm hoping to be able to share with you all.
Until next time, take care!
