General | Posted 6 days agoTill 2025 is over, you know. It's been a weird year, a thought with which I am not alone.
My artistic output has never been lower and I am... let's say low-key frustrated about it, granted that this year and last, the scope of the images I have been working on has increased quite a bit, just take the comic pages for example. I could make progress with the remaining commissions.
Additionally, this year I made by far the largest educational push I have ever done, close-studying four entire books, one early on, the other three in August-September and I even could do my first humble steps in animation.
I'd like my art to look as top quality and interesting as possible for you lads and lasses; it's just something that is absolutely required if you occupy a small obscure niches, as I do, in my opinion.
Nevertheless, the strict regime with the education input and the commission queue tackle has left me dealing with creative fatigue throughout most of the year, which is why I am bombarding you with personal art recently – I need to recharge.
I will do this for a while longer, possibly getting the next comic page in, before making the final push to clear out the old commissions for good next year.

Hacked - New Discord - Update & Hacker Discord ID + Request
General | Posted 2 months agoAlright everyone, I am back in portions now, but I am still busy with things.
I made a new Discord ID “triasthedinoartist” AND I could safely secure Trias-Works, so thank god for that, I just need an additional phone verification for the time being, but it works.
What's effectively corrupted are my trias1991[at]hotmail.de as well as the two gmx mail accounts I used to have, plus the old main discord Trias2673. I'm still in communication.
The entire rest of my online presence seems safe, I could change mail accounts and passwords pretty much everywhere. (Special thanks to New Grounds for reacting lightning fast, that deal was set within like 5-10 minutes!)
The hacker got me with the “test my game” scam, which is apparently extremely popular among hackers and has been for a while. Problem was I never had even heard of it.
The hacker goes by the discord ID of “ekrem” (ekrem0236) and seems to be from Turkey. On my phone I could check and there seems to be a small X account who covered them a little, so chances are this person is not entirely unknown for being a criminal.
The way he got me was approaching me with the stolen account from “TheAwesomeFoxGuy”, who was mutual with Volkenfox, who actually is a legit game developer. That made me think it wouldn't be out of the ordinary, because both of these people are also into the same kinks, so I didn't rule out that -FoxGuy could also be working on a game.
I downloaded the game file, which didn't start. The hacker then sent me a patch to “fix it”, after which I got a sudden txt file popping up with all of my online accounts, websites and passwords. That is when the penny finally dropped on my end and I went into massive panic mode and was under shock till yesterday noon, when I finally could get busy going over all of my accounts, deleting things and messaging companies.
The hacker also pressed me out of 600 bucks. Yes, I paid ransom in my shock, hindsight is 2020, I did the best I could in that moment and secured my bank, PayPal, commissiontrias@gmail and FA by changing the passwords straight away.
He wanted some crypto stuff from me, but I had to buy it under his directions (in order to get my data back or something, he deleted all of the chat while I was still there and I only have a few screen-caps). Overall he wanted 1300, but I could not pay any more than 150 after I already did give 450. The Second crypto purchase I assed and bought the wrong one, then I just upped and left the room shaking shortly after.
As soon as I had calmed down enough, I filed a police report and frantically punched in the initial journal to warn you all.
Jack told me he noticed something weird straight away and bugged down ekrem when he was continuing the scam. Some of you also fell victim, which sucks big time.
So yeah, here we are. Regarding the other two journals, there are way too many comments this time to react to, but I did read the majority of them.
Thank you everyone very much for spreading the word so quickly to try to prevent more damage.
The Trias-Art's discord server is indeed gone now as ekrem has deleted it, probably in rage against Jack.
Jack already began crafting a new one and brought Legion-beast on board afterwards, I myself got access to it today, but it will be a while till we have everything back in place and I need to reorganize stuff for the patrons as well on patreon to get the perk system back. There are also other things regarding my work software and more on my machine since I did a clean install of windows to make sure the virus is not there hiding.
(Since I actively did the DUMB AS FUCK THING of downloading and clicking the malware myself, I am not entirely certain how to proceed regarding online safety, but I am much more watchful now, another bit of life experience.)
Since I suffered some financial damage, I would like to request you guys to actively share my work around, wips or completed work, to get the Trias and the Dinosaurs Inc. brand name out there.
I have full intention on showcasing the lore of the Dinosaurs Inc. much more, they are as novel as a concept as they are colorful.
My work schedule has now shifted to a 2-week based shift, first half of the month are commissions, second half is dedicated to the comic. All went very well till I fell victim to the hacker, but I feel like I can be back on track soon enough, so all your help is very much appreciated.

General | Posted 2 months agoOk, I got a new one "triasthedinoartist" with the Wheezie avatar. I sent out a couple of requests of people I remember. Also I wanna get back to the other journal later because I am not quite done on my end end, the major e-mail providers are a pain in the butt to deal with when your passwords were stolen.
However I am glad you guys caught on and spread the word aggressively.
Addendum: there are still things I need to figure out, reinstall, etc. Apparently this "Cakewind" malware can possibly deeply infiltrate your system and I wasn't willing to taking any more chances. I got to chance pretty much every single password and most e-mail connections to a new one, while also weighing how I go about logging into things on a daily basis now; securtiy and stuff.
Another Addendum: Most of my accounts remained unaffected, including my patreon.

Commissions Still Indefinitely Closed & More
General | Posted 3 months agoThis month of august I have to take out a bit of pressure, mostly doing sketches to not let the rust sink in. The image with Sora and Delilah https://www.furaffinity.net/view/61764831/ has basically taken up the entirety of July, which I hadn't expected. I can address a few things regarding that.

These two X-posts demonstrate my documentation (I made more) of how the painting came about. You may notice that I took inspiration from AI generated trash for Sora's pose, same goes for Delilah. I wanted to see for real if "AI can be good as reference". I cleaned up the weirdness, because I know a little bit about how poses and anatomy work. However, the progress slowed down drastically with the background. The slop doesn't contain any single element I couldn't tackle myself, especially when it comes to messing up lol
I can say with absolute certainty though that the whole of it doesn't add up and if you THINK it does, you're being led astray by your eyes, because -by god- I gave it my best shot. I couldn't make sense of how to "clean" the background elements and bring them together and, eventually,
DigitalKaiju and 
Legionbeast basically whacked me back into consciousness with a newspaper, revealing to me that the AI-slop is messing with my brain.
So I ditched the slop stuff entirely from there on out and began constructing the background all by myself, with a number of (REAL) references for the plants, as well as the buildings, while simultaneously working with a new set of brushes to get a more oil-feel.
Before you worry, I got the slop from a free generator on a website only financed by ads, which I block, of course. I haven't paid anybody, I didn't feed the beast by uploading anything into it either; if they sink, greet the bottom of the sea, I don't care.
I suppose the best takeaway I can backhandedly recommend is that these slop images I get to see when I hit the generate button, is an overall vibe I can appreciate, which then creates new images in my mind. A couple of those may be worth working out, but was AI necessary for that? Absolutely not.
So here you go, I gave it a fair try and I haven't changed my opinion. It's trash, it's a disgrace, it still only works as "good" as it does because the datasets consist of stolen property and its value ranges below junk food. Avoid it, especially if you're an inexperienced artist who wants to improve.

second half of May was pretty rough. Irl stuff happened again and the routine at home had to change drastically yet again. I don't want to be too specific, because pro-AI companies still have no decency in what data they collect and willfully present to anybody who feels like poking.
At this point in time I'm feeling burnout and I blame it on the additional stress not related to my work directly. It's different this time in so far that I get very easily annoyed by anything in my way, just the name the topic and I enter bitch-mode.
I would love to list the myriad of things I came across that bother the heck out of me, but that's not going to achieve anything. Just let it be said, if you have someone vehemently contra generative AI, and the vibes coming from generated images are better than those from real art pieces done by actual people, you just KNOW something is definitely off~
Either way, I am trying to stick to things and draw when I can, perhaps something good comes out of it, I will do my best.
Addendum: I find it pretty cringe that these journals are mostly just "this why I'm not too active rn and why things are shit", but I feel like I have to let people know and this just seems to reach the highest number of eyes.

TMI Update on Stuff

I haven't been awfully present since late January, reason being frustrations and even a pretty nasty hand injury that kept me away from anything for over a whole week. Kaiju showed me a book which I read and studied twice and I think it had an effect on me which I needed to process first, but I believe it is improving my art.
Definitely got some of the spice-mojo back.
So far, I've been going through the motions with my art, stale, boring, entirely focused on the technique; however last month I was able to put this to a stop, not only thanks to the book or my muscles being tired from moving around tons of heavy stuff, forcing me to focus on other things till I could work normally again.
Another thing that Kaiju pushed me into was realizing that it had been years since I took time off and actually didn't think about my work, which is a major contributor to mental burn out, which is probably the reason why my art has been pretty mid and meh for a while... will be interesting to see how I can turn things around now that I'm aware.

I don't want to beat around the bush much, 2023 was already a shit year, but I didn't expect 2024 to be even worse and I'm not even talking about things happening in the world like politics and so on.
Here I go now, 6 deaths later, 3 of which were drawn out over months and in one case, even years. They say to youngsters that eventually, you will start losing people, though I believe it stands to reason that all of these losses in short proximity to one another take a toll on your overall mood.
The reception of my art has taken on a pattern of being even slower burns than they already were and I believe that would be the explanation for it. Staying away from looking at numbers and getting jealous of other artists has gotten hard for me again.
However, I think I managed to stabilize my technique since early 2023 and keep the characters more consistent.
I'm anxious moving forward due to my low income, yet determined to follow the plans of mine you already know: finishing the remaining old commissions and keep the comic coming.
In addition to all of the above, I may experiment a bit more with the subjects I personally engage with; my first picture of this year being a hint at that.

my grandmothers funeral is going to be this Thursday, which makes us here a tad nervous due to some other family kerfuffle in the same regard. Heavy housework is still going and my personal situation, as it's been for over 2 years now, is also still very unstable to the point where I keep losing focus and fall into... not always depressive episodes, but into semi-paralyzing states where I can't concentrate on my work and my mind is forced onto irrational and negative thoughts (heritage of the time when I was under full anti depressant medication).
Every time I bring this up to anybody though, the advice is the same: i am right on categorizing the thoughts I suffer as utterly irrational AND that me missing the time I was inspired and filled with ideas I want to invest my energy in is part of my job, not useless or meaningless, but instead very productive and desirable.
Like I mentioned above, the date is set, the hefty housework I'm involved in keeps moving along and the more regulated, stable routine I long for comes closer piece by piece.

I had to take some vacation time after the last commission, since I couldn't effectively relax the last time. My grandmother has passed since and currently there are renovations in my home, as well as a little heatwave, so things are still a bit stressful.
Also, 30 degrees outside still just hit differently if you have to work on the top floor under the roof, AC hip or hop. Since Monday I have resumed my exercises and other things.
Agenda remains like I mentioned in different places: commissions are at the top of the priority, then the comic. The personal pieces I do are breathers in between.
If you are a commissioner, check the linked queue in my profile; if you are interested in getting a personal piece from me, I will make it public when I reopen (which will be the case after the present stack is cleared for good).
I will not make another public commission queue and update my rates down the road.
Stay tuned and pray that the Brazilian government will let go of their tyrannical measures, so that our Brazilian fellow artists and friends can rejoin us without the fear of punishment and oppression.

Like many others, I did not know the man personally. During my early years here when accusations were thrown against me and when I did a couple of wrong things myself, he treated me very fairly and refrained from harsh actions.
As far as my case goes, I have nothing bad to say whatsoever and of course we understand that running a community website that grew a lot since its inception, puts you into a position where you just can not please everyone.
We will meet you again in the next world~

Triassic 2024 Things

About 3 weeks ago I decided to give my brain some rest because I tend to overstretch the time between vacations. In the meantime though this vacation has turned into sick-leave and I'm struggling out of a depressive episode.
My uncles wife got diagnosed with ALS (same disease as Stephen Hawking) several years back. The other evening less than 10 days ago my mother got the call from her brother “she is going to die today”. My own shock is one thing. How they felt, I can not even imagine. My aunt wasn't doing overly well in the first place, but a recent cold had weakened her so much that she chose the medical analogue to free death, which is apparently thing in special situations, I hadn't known that before.
Then there is also the disease my father has, which I am still coming to terms with. The fact that the others in my family assured me that everything that needs to be handled IS being handled, does help me, but it's not easy to pick up a routine.
I personally feel like I am estranged from my own passions, which is weak and not okay, but hey, that's the hurdle I have to take and work on overcoming.

They violated artists copyrights, visual and written, they took hospital data, private posts, deep- and darkweb content, snuff, beheadings by isis, childporn, gore, you name it.

Atm they are agressively promoting and celebrating a prompter who allegedly earned over 25k dollars in less than a year, by selling AI output, pumping out so much that it normally should have violated DAs spam policy, but alas.
Just to be clear, nobody that uses AI can guarantee that the datasets are clear of stolen content. Said stolen content, which is already bad enough, also contains real life imagery of humans, including children. Several AI companies already admitted to the fact that their datascrapers took absolutely everything they could, with no regards to privacy and legality "because acquiring the resources legally would have taken too much time and effort".

Just a little fad of mine, I collect a lot art and scout for new stuff regularly.
If you have some artwork finished that you wanna share on the web PLEASE for the LOVE of GOD, use the jpg format and try to keep it below 3k by X pixels.
I keep seeing people uploading their stuff in png24 at monstrous resolutions, pumping up the filesize to 5-20mb or even more.
Look, I get it, I'm something of an artist myself. If you put in the work and create lots of nice kinks and details, you want them to be seen. With many of the stuff that I complain about though, that is simply unjustified.
I personally ask myself what exactly the gain is. So far, I recommend png24 and the large size for printing purposes, if you can, pick a piece you made yourself and have it printed based on your maximum res with the format that has to remember every single pixel as you placed it, you'll love it!
However, I will say that a bunch of folks are maybe unaware of the fact that their images gain nothing from large resolutions, let alone the memory intensive png24. Recently I have seen a good number where everything is already very well visible in the downscaled version you get on booru sites, which means that the impact of the image is already achieved. Some of them even use depth blurr to hammer home the perspective better, which is great!
But you have to remember that a ton of blurr also means a ton of different colors, which png WILL memorize and if then the image is 6000px huge, you end up with a 40mb (or bigger) image where you still can't see any more compared to the downscaled version.
So anyway, that's my pet peeve: that stuff just takes forever to load to even show up and your work doesn't profit from it being shared on the web AND it takes up way more space than it needs to ~ there you go.

You may agree with me that we're not alone in thinking that assuming 2016 was bad has proven to have been a bit over-hasty.
I already didn't enjoy 2016, but 2019 was particularly bad for me at the time. I'm mentioning the latter year, because THIS year was indeed so bad that I barely got about the same work done as in 2019, which is roughly 50 pieces.
I kept and keep getting messages from folks asking about the comic, which has been in the works for four years now. Recently I figured out the procedure I wish to follow in order to complete the project.
It is my deep and honest wish to deliver more of the comic work and tell fun stories to invite you into different worlds to give you a good time.
Please spread the word around and consider giving me a little support so I can keep doing that, for I have full on intention to prove myself worthy of it!
Next month (start of 2024), I want to start publishing the comic, page by page, as they are finished.
So far I was able to get the cover done, as well as page 1 and 2.
I think I was able to give it a unique look and feel and I hope as many of you as possible will agree there and -of course- enjoy it!

URGENT Commission information

I feel I should clarify some information for everyone who has ordered a commission.
First off, there is no due date on the commissions. Life is complicated and taxing and the unexpected happens. As a result commissions are done as I can get to them in the order they were made. One of the reasons I never started giving out deadlines and always point to the queue.
Secondly, I'm finally getting my comic project off the ground. This is also something that is a paid project that supporters have been waiting on for some time.
Thirdly, 2023 has been a HORRIBLE YEAR and all the worst things have happened IRL, deaths and diseases included. When things haven't been totally awful, I often need just some time to regain my sanity, and said down time isn't usually jumping into work mode to work on a commission.
The stress this year has built up that it's nagging on both my physical and mental health and I have to fight depression and sleep depravity again.
I will try to check my commission discord in the first week of the month again and limit the new ones I eventually take to 1-4 depending on their scale. Know that I dread it though thanks to all the events this year.
TL:DR: If you ordered a commission from me, I WILL get to it eventually, but I CANNOT give you a refund. If you're patient, you'll get exactly what you asked for in the best quality I can give. Don't rush me or insult me for not doing it right away, especially if I've made multiple journals stating why I haven't been able to work.

General | Posted 2 years agoBack in June someone had poisined Pauli, our dog. It was a slow poison that destroyed his kidneys. Therefore there is no way to be sure who did it, where or when exactly is also impossible to say. We did what we could. He was a little over 6 years old.
Today he had to be put down, at best he would have had a few more days.
I wish the person who did this to a poor animal may find justice. Pauli was a good dog.
