General Update
General | Posted 10 years agoHello everyone,
It’s been a long while since I’ve done a general update journal, so I’ll let you guys know what’s been going on with me lately. First; I’ve gotten a promotion at work so hopefully that means a raise as well. I’m now a crew-trainer, meaning I get to train the new workers in the kitchen on how to use the grill and fryers.
Second; my aunt’s in the hospital from severe stomach pain. They have had to pump whatever’s in her out, but she’s doing much better since Sunday evening when she was rushed to the ER. I still don’t know when she will be back, but at least she is doing okay.
Third; I think I have realized one of my biggest problem, I let little things bother me too much. I try to be perfect, but when one little thing goes awry, I flip out and start acting like a spoiled kid who doesn’t get what they wanted. For example, yesterday when I went on break, I clocked-out and saw that the work system says I just now clocked in. I didn’t understand it at first, so I tried it again, same thing, I lost my temper there, and stormed out. This may be part of the reason why I feel like I give my co-workers a hard time. Does anyone go through what I do, and if so, what do you do to prevent it or calm down if it does happen?
That’s all for now, take care everyone.

Tragic news in the world of music...
General | Posted 10 years agoIt has been sadly confirmed, that world-renowned composer, James Horner has tragically lost his life in a plane crash. I wish it were a joke, but I'm sad to say it is not. My heart goes out to his family, loved ones and friends. At least he went out doing what he loved most. Please say a prayer for his family and/or give condolences to his family who are devastated by this event. Horner is known for film scores such as, Star Trek II & III, Cocoon, Aliens, An American Tail, The Land Before Time, Glory, The Rocketeer, Braveheart, Apollo 13, Balto, Titanic, The Mask of Zorro, and Avatar. Mr. Horner, you will never be forgotten, and your legacy will always be remembered.

General | Posted 10 years agoWOW!!! I watched the Nintendo World Championship 2015, all the way through and I have to say that it was awesome! This will be the first NWC tournament I have ever witnessed in my life (I just wish I was old enough to remember the first one 25 years ago). There were four Rounds plus three elimination rounds where the players went to the Underground for elimination. I’m gonna try and remember everything, to the best of my memory, that happened along with my reactions. Weird thing, Arin from Game Grumps was a finalist (I did not see that coming).
First Round was Splatoon. It was two groups of eight, with 4 VS. 4 and the rounds were Turf Wars. And then finally it was the two losing teams who battled one more time to stay out of the Underground. The players who lost went to the Underground for elimination. The game that was chosen for elimination was…The Legend of Zelda on NES. Goal was to get to the first dungeon, beat the boss and acquire the Triforce piece first. That was fun.
Second round was, an entirely new game called, BlastBall. I was like, WHOA!!!, they pulled a “Wizard” on everyone! XD Basically, it’s soccer but with giant Mechs and guns (that would be kinda cool to play, actually)! So it was two groups of 6, 3 VS. 3. Then the players who went to elimination got to play Super Metroid! Basically, they had to beat the final boss, Mother Brain, and escape the planet. Only one managed to make it through.
Third round was, Mario Kart 8, on 200cc New Leaf Cup. Man, 200cc was so intense it kinda made me nervous to even try it. Anyway, for the elimination round, the game that was chosen was, Balloon Fight (to be more specific, Balloon Trip). That was so fun to watch, I want to find a copy of that game now. X3 (Arin made it this far by that point, but unfortunately he went to the Underground.)
Fourth Round was, Super Smash Bros. HOWEVER…! It didn’t start right away! Oh no, there was a little SMB tournament a year ago with the winner and Reggie. These two came out and battled it out! Reggie got totally whooped, even when using (spoiler alert!) Ryu! That was fun to watch nonetheless. Alright, so the real NWC Smash battle began. The two winners of that round were John Numbers and Cosmo.
The Final Round game was, Super Mario Maker! The two had to face three different stages (which were all built by the Nintendo Treehouse people) all based on the first Super Mario Bros., then Super Mario 3, followed by Super Mario World, and finally New Super Mario Bros. U. The stages were beyond TROLLISH!! I could not believe what the two had to do to get through them. The TreeHouse guys were nothing but trolls and evil for the two finalists! Well, it came down to the final stage and the winner was…John Numbers!
A show of congratulations was given, but it didn’t end there. Ohhhhhh NO!! They saved the best for last, they brought out…Shigeru Miyamoto himself! He gave them each a brand new 3DS XL and John’s was autographed by Miyamoto himself! WOOOOOOOOOW!!! ^_^ And to finish it off, John was given an NWC 2015 gold trophy!
So, that was my memory on NWC 2015. Overall…IT WAS AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!! I swear, there were a ton of moments where my jaw dropped at the things I saw here. I now know that Nintendo still is, the King of game companies! Thank you so much Nintendo, Reggie, Miyamoto, etc., everyone!
Hope you all enjoyed this little read, sorry for it being so long, but that’s everything that I could remember. ^^; Take care!

Question - is it worth buying?
General | Posted 10 years agoHey everyone, I have a question regarding two handheld gaming consoles.
I know that the new 3DS has come out, but I don't know a whole lot about it. Is the screen smaller or bigger than the first 3DS, and will it be able to play old 3DS games on it? Also, I don't know if I wanna get any Amiibo figures, cause as
Markiliox said, "they'll just end up being shelf-ware". So, I ask you guys, is it worth getting now, or wait for something better?
Second, I wanna get a PSP because there are a number of games on it that I want to play. But, is it worth getting a Vita instead, and is it backwards-compatible with physical PSP games? I've already decided on getting a PS3 instead of PS4 mostly for the library of games. Thank you all for reading, I'll talk to you all later.

Apologies
General | Posted 10 years agoI wanna apologize to everyone who I usually chat with at night, I was not feeling chatty. I had a bad day at work yesterday, and I didn't want to involve anyone in my problems. I know it was selfish of me to not tell anyone about it, but I needed to handle it on my own. I don't want forgiveness, I'm just letting everyone know in case they were worried about me.

Square-Enix finally listening to fans!
General | Posted 11 years agoThat's right, Square-Enix is FINALLY listening to the fans, professionally. With the help of a survey, they want to hear our thoughts and opinions on game franchises of theirs, what systems do we own, what current games are we actively playing, what past games are we currently playing, etc. etc.
This is great, because now we can finally tell Square what we as the fans want them to hear from us. For me personally, I want them to acknowledge the 3DS in their survey which they just left out for some reason. Another thing; I want them to re-release the Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu) series on VC or something, including a fully-translated Seiken Densetsu 3.
Here is a video with more details on the topic, which does provide a link to the survey for everyone to voice their opinions on. The time has come Square fans! Let your voices be heard by the top-heads at Square!

TFF Highlights *WARNING* Long read!
General | Posted 11 years agoHey every furs! I am back from Texas Furry Fiesta, and I gotta say, this was the second time I’ve been there, but it was the best con I’ve been to in three years! The first day I got there, I met a lot of new furs, and I caught up with old friends who I haven’t chatted with in a long while! I got to meet
Kay for the first time, and she is just a wonderful person. I went to the Dealer’s Den to find
animecat
sophiecabra and
marcimcadam, because I wanted to see them. Later that night, some of the cubs and I went to
jeffy’s panel and it was certainly interesting, listening to freestyle rap. After that I hooked up with
Hexaod,
Kilion, and
Sabnock, and the four of us went out to eat. We can back, and then I attended the Storytime panel, where a lot of babyfurs gathered, including
tavimunk
rollarwolfcub and
kage13 I wanted to read one of the stories they had, but didn’t get the chance. Oh well, maybe next year I will. Went back to the cub hub, and got my two new badges from Kay and Tavi. I love ‘em!
On Saturday morning, I woke up and went down to the Ballroom floor and ran into Tavi. He and I actually had breakfast together, wow! =3 Then Kage joined us, we all had a good time chatting and eating. After that, Tavi had to get a table at the Artist’s Alley, and I had to go to the Dealer’s Den to commission Marci. Fortunately, I was her first customer and later that day she finished my badge. So yeah, I finally got a Marci badge! ^__^ Following that, I strolled around and bought some more merchandise I wasn’t expecting to purchase, but overall this was my time to splurge since I saved up from working. X3 A few hours later, the fursuit parade was getting underway, and I was going to record all of it with my new camcorder. I managed to get all of the parade recorded, as best I could. A few hours later, we all went out for sushi, can say that trying sushi for the first time was different. I’ve never had sushi before, so it was interesting. Not bad, but not something I’d eat every day, considering how expensive it is. When we all got back, it was time for the Babyfur Olympics. The cubs who all participated got to do baby food testing, blindfolded diaper changing, bobbing for binkies, and bottle drinking. X3 That was fun, and even more babyfurs came up to the hub, including;
blackwolf12tails,
huskyboi,
matmew and
oceltot
Sunday morning came around and it was getting really hectic. The winter weather was coming and a lot of us were going to be snowed in if we didn’t leave soon. It was really hard, having to say goodbye to everyone who I got to meet and see again. We pretty much had to haul ass just to get all of our stuff packed and out of the room. The shuttle service wasn’t accepting any new reservations for getting people to the airport, so
kitsuno was kind enough to drive me there. I humbly paid him for gas money, as a thank you for driving me to the airport. We said our goodbyes and I headed home after that.
Overall, TFF this year has been the BEST CON I’ve been to in three years! I’m a little iffy on next year’s theme, “Bayou Nights”, is TFF going Louisiana on us or something? But anyway, those are the highlights for me at TFF, sorry for the long read but this was me trying to remember everything I can about the con. Hope you all had a fun read and I’ll see you all later.

A Little Story
General | Posted 11 years agoHey guys, so I've got a little story to tell for Christmas day...I was almost in an automobile accident. >.>
I was on my way home from work, and I got up to the turn onto the interstate bypass that goes around the town I work at McDonalds'. I saw this truck coming, it had it's turn signal on like it was gonna turn, so I assumed that it was gonna turn. There was no one coming from the other side, so I eased out and then the driver starts swirling like he didn't see me coming out and we almost ran into one another. O.O Thankfully, we both dodged each other and pulled off onto the side and got out to see if we were alright.
He asked me what was the idea, I told him I saw his turn signal on like he was turning. He looked surprised at me, like he didn't know his turn signal was on. Wow, how do you not know your turn signal is on? Well, I've learned now NOT to pull out in front of someone just because they have their turn signal on, they have to slow down AND turn first, now I don't even trust turn signals anymore. At least, no one was hurt and no damage was done We both thanked God we were still alive and wished each other "Merry Christmas" and parted ways.
So, the lesson for today is, "Don't trust someone's turn signal, you have to wait for them to actually turn before pulling out." Just wanted to tell you all that story. Makes me appreciate life more.
HELP! Fellow fur in need.
General | Posted 11 years agoHey everyone, I should've posted a journal about this sooner. It seems
magnoliankitty and her roommates are having financial difficulties and were almost evicted. They managed to scrounge up enough money to prevent that, but now they're pretty drained and cannot afford food, bills, medical supplies etc. So, I am asking this, would you please help a fellow babyfur out?

Can I have everyone's attention please?
General | Posted 11 years agoHere's something that I should've done a while back and it's for someone very important. Someone, who I could NEVER replace or the friendship we have shared for years. A few months back, my friend and brofur
babysilverwolf24 was diagnosed with cervical neck dystonia disorder. It's an uncontrollable disorder with painful muscle contractions in the neck which causes awkward movement or postures (if you want to find out more about this disorder, I have provided a link down below. Anyway, well after three months of being diagnosed and his job put on hold, he was fired from his position at work. He needs a lot of support through this rough ordeal. Please, I implore you all to show your support, let him know that he is cared for by others. Ask him in any way to help support him and his family. I humbly thank you all for your time in reading.

General | Posted 11 years agoLife Update
General | Posted 11 years agoHey everyone, thought I’d do an update journal on how things have been going for me.
First off; for those of you who have recently watched me, I am currently working at McDonald’s making $7.75 an hour. The hours I work are random for me, ranging from five to eight hours, depending on when they need me the most. It’s a starting job for me, so that I can hopefully get to do something even better in the future, because I don’t want to be stuck doing the same job all my life (grilling hamburgers). X3
Second; my mother had a cancerous spot removed from her ovaries last month, doctors say they got it all. However, just to be safe, they scheduled for her to have a hysterectomy today (basically remove her reproductive organs) so it doesn’t come back, ever. Well, she had the surgery today, and it went smoothly; no complications, minimal bleeding, basically nothing eventful. Thank goodness. I’ll be going back up tomorrow morning to pick her up, ‘cause she’s staying overnight to keep a check on her in case anything comes up (which I hope doesn’t).
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll talk to you all later! ^^

Question time
General | Posted 11 years agoI have several questions and this is to all video game collectors out there;
1. Where all do you go to collect retro games?
2. How should a newbie like me act if I see something I want, and not to pay too much for it?
3. Do you use eBay at all for game-collecting?
Thank you all for your time, and I'll catch you later! :)

Good news, everyone!!
General | Posted 11 years agoThis little shiba puppy is now officially working! ^_^ It took me 4 years since college, to finally get a job and I couldn't be happier. :)
I am working at McDonalds. I know if I wanna start somewhere, it would have to be there. But hey, it took me a while to finally swallow my pride and apply there. I told myself that I would never work at McDonalds, but I realize now that if I wanna be able to work for someone better, I have to start somewhere (am I right?). But to be honest, I am grateful to have a job. And hopefully this will open more doors for me in the future. ^^
