MFF this December!
Posted 8 years agoOh! Some exciting news for me!
I'll be enjoying my first full weekend at a fur-con this December at MFF! Previously, I've only dropped by for a single day at the local fur-con in my state, but this year I've got a room, some friends, and will be enjoying the whole weekend out in Chicago!! Please, look for me there!
(It's my secret hope that being at my first full convention with artists and friends will kick my butt in gear and inspire me once again to start painting regularly)
Actually, the 'whole' weekend isn't entirely accurate... I will have to dip out for the full morning/afternoon of Sunday for a pretty neat reason~ It just so happens that the once-a-year-in-America Japanese Language Proficiency Test is being held that very same weekend, and there happened to be a testing site in Chicago! Therefore, I'll be spending Sunday getting certified with a recognized level of fluency in Japanese. Why? God only knows OwO;;
I hope to see many of you there, and will be very excited to be a part of the fun con festivities!

A Quiet Series of Months

It's been a long time since I have been active on here. Since May, it seems~
I wish I had a better excuse for why I started posting less and less and eventually disappeared for half a year, but I suppose all I can say is that I've been enjoying life and haven't kept up with my personal art as much.
It's easy to wait for New Years to start a resolution, but Nov. 4 is just as good a time as any! I'll make a greater effort to start painting again, and to post those paintings as I see them complete.
In a sense, I haven't felt lately like my art has been up to my own standards, making me apprehensive to produce and, further, post them online. Ironically, the lack of practice is likely what has made me feel so stagnant and novice lately! In addition, petty worries and insecurities took hold and made me feel it was okay to just let my account quietly go out. At the moment, I think those thoughts are foolish, and it should be my goal to continue to learn, and share my progress along the way!
I will still admit, though, that it is easier to find me posting to Twitter these days. As much as I love FurAffinity and its strange wonders, it's simply more convenient for me to post images and sketches as they happen quickly on social media. If you're wanting to see more frequent updates from me, I suggest you follow me there TruNorthArt.
Looking back, I have had a spectacular year, but similarly to last year, there has been a dearth of art from me. I'm not sure what will ultimately provide the motivation I need to produce more frequently, but it is my intention to start painting more frequently.

An apology to all who are waiting on me

This message is directed to those still waiting on a commission from me.
I sincerely and deeply apologize for the agonizing wait, and the incredible tardiness with which I have been completing the art.
It was never my intention for each commission to take around a full month to complete. In fact, I had initially intended to accept commissions in the hope that the pressure of someone having paid money and be waiting on my work would help inspire me to work more consistently.
Needless to say, that has proven difficult over the past many weeks.
In the recent weeks especially, I have been burdened with a great deal of stress. It's caused me some mental and physical sickness and exhaustion, and this week is the worst of it.
I promise that I am still making progress with my work, and I do still intend to get to each person's commission in as timely a manner as I can.
Please continue to be patient with me as I deal with work and family stress.
Thank you for the continued support of my art. I appreciate the kindness of all of my followers.

Computer Almost Set Up

After the virus last week, my computer has been restored and I'm back to setting up photoshop, getting textury brushes back, and getting my computer and its drivers all set up again!
Looking forward to starting the commissions within the next few days and getting back to it!

Accidentally Downloaded a Virus and am Nuking My Computer

This message is specifically for the people who commissioned me.
I was being dumb yesterday and managed to introduce a bunch of Malware onto my computer, ruining it in a number of ways.
After about 7 or so hours of trying to go through the process of removing the various things that got installed on my computer, quarantining the threats, and trying to remove all the garbage and gain access to my regular functionality again, I just decided to give my computer a factory reset.
At 6 or 7 years old, the computer had hundreds of gigabytes of junk on it anyway, so a reset would be good for it anyway.
What this means unfortunately is that for the next day or two, my computer is useless and will not have any drivers or photoshop, so I'll be unable to work on the commissions I promised. I will only be delayed a few days, but its still an inconvenience.
I sincerely apologize for giving myself a nasty virus the day after accepting commissions.
I'll be back to normal and ready to begin the list of commissions a day or two from now once I have my computer functioning again.

Open for January Commissions

I'm happy to announce that after many, many months, I'm once again open for a select number of commissions! These commissions will NOT be first come, first serve. Instead, I will be choosing the commissions based on content, character(s), and complexity.
I will likely be selecting about 5 commissions to start with. I may take more depending on the ideas presented and the time that I have to work.
These commissions will not be adult themed; however, I would be willing to discuss pin-ups with some tasteful nudity.
Commissions will begin at 80 dollars, and price will increase based on complexity of the image.
A simple character posing may represent the lower price-range, and multiple characters interacting in a complex environment may represent a more expensive idea.
I will NOT be painting reference sheets, comics, line-arts, or icons; only single images painted in a style representative of my gallery.
For examples of the quality and style that the commissions will be painted in, please look to any recent image from my gallery. The paintings will be painted in a "realistic" style will complete background and scenery.
Given the fact that I work a full-time job, please allow me between 1 and 3 weeks to complete the images. Some commissions may take longer than others due to work, busy schedules, and commission complexity.
I look forward to reading through your ideas, and will do my best to respond to each of you in a timely manner! Even if I cannot respond to all the ideas, I will post another journal closing the commissions and listing the individuals for whom I will be painting.
If you are interested in a commission, please send me a note on FurAffinity, or e-mail me (address below) a description of your idea and any required references for characters, items, clothes, or scenery you wish to see in the piece! Trying to get back into the swing of things~

The past few months have been interesting for me, trying to find a balance between my personal life and love for painting and art and furry stuffs, and being an adult, with work, and bills, and boring stuffs.
It's my early new year's resolution to try and become more active with the community again, posting art, scraps, journals, updates, and keeping up with the awesome list of friends and fans of my art!
I know that I've been really bad at checking and updating my FurAffinity lately. I'm going to make that a priority again, to remember to stay active here.
As an issue, I haven't been making a lot of paintings on my free time, and that's the first thing I want to change. Secondly, however, I've been constantly pressured by the thoughts in my head to change to a new name and re-brand myself (which I'm sure I've posted frequently about already). Laughably, I've done nothing to that end... but it's been making me feel like I shouldn't be drawing more attention to this page while I think about moving.
Honestly, that's kinda stupid. So although I'm still thinking about changing names and moving to a new page, I'll still make efforts to post and be active here, being part of the community until I figure my stuff out.
Here's to a new year, starting early, of more painting, posting, responding, and socializing with all of you!
With luck, sometime soon I'll gain the confidence to commit to a name and make it VERY clear when and where I'm moving <3

School has been keeping me bogged down, in addition to the job apps and interviews I've been moving through while looking for a job after college.

I know I haven't been around much this holiday break, but I just wanted to catch you all before the year ends to wish everyone a VERY happy new year!
It's been quite a journey for me and many people I know, traveling from January to December in 2015, so I'd like to give everyone my best wishes as they send off to a brand new year!
More art incoming! I would have painted for this day, but I left my computer in another city... So I am suffering without art too :C
Thanks to everyone that has supported me since the beginning. Thanks to all the new friends I've made with many of you over the past year, and thanks to all of those who have come to support me now!
To each of you, thank you, I appreciate you, and have the best new year!

I would just like to inform you that I'm falling a few days behind schedule. Aside from today being Thanksgiving (Happy Thanksgiving to you all, also!), there was a death in the family of a close friend, so I spent my time consoling him after his loss. I also spent a day studying for and undergoing an interview with a company I hope to intern at in the coming months!
So, with those events out of the way, I'll be picking up the slack. So, please forgive me if I am a few days off from my promises.
I would just like to inform you that I'm falling a few days behind schedule. Once I have some first exam scores back and know if my attentions are well placed, I'll consider opening up for commissions again. But as of now, I don't want to burden myself with any more than I have to day to day~

5 Commission slots! -- LIMITED TIME

So, uhm... I was enjoying being on a hiatus type thing, but then my car got impounded after I was helping my friends move into their new apartment. (I left the car overnight in an illegal spot past 11 PM, whoops)
SO! I figured I would open myself up this weekend for a short burst of smaller, quicker commissions so the 100+ dollar fine doesn't feel as painful xwx
I HAVE 5 OPEN COMMISSION SLOTS -- over today and the weekend, I'll paint a colored sketch of your character for $30. Give me a reference to your character, and a pose/expression or some mood you want it to convey, and I'll draw a picture of your character, then paint that sketch and give it colors and such!
Here's how I plan on making this work. Since there are only 5 slots, anybody interested can send me a note here on FA giving their character and pose/mood, and once I read over them, I'll pick the 5 I'm willing to work on (sorry, but I have to work with a limited schedule).
After that's done, I'll post a journal closing this event, and give the names of the 5 people who I'll be drawing for. (I'll ask you all personally for the payment once I choose).
It would be awesome to work with you guys for the next 2 days, so let me know who's interested!
