Finished my last essay for the term
Posted 3 years agoI finished my last essay for the year at university and now I have an exam to do in just 8 days.
That essay was the bane for me. Mercury and Minamata Disease. I try to keep to the plan but time will tell if I did what was asked. I used Studiosity to make sure my essay was written properly but it’s not designed to make sure I have followed the brief. Next time I need to plan properly and have someone face to face to support me. iPad meetings aren’t sufficient enough.
As for the exam it’s about rock cycles, Earth’s dynamic systems, rivers and droughts.

The situation at home
Posted 3 years agoMy auntie has gone home now. She stayed with us for a couple weeks.
Now my parents are getting a new kitchen, which means they can't cook at their home so they're opting for my home if they're going to cook. Unless we go out for a meal.
All this in a period of a week or two. While I'm supposed to do an essay about the element Mercury and its effects on the environment and people. As well as a power point presentation. Got a lot of work to do. Thank goodness I was able to sort out the road sweeper job so I won't have to worry about it.

Just lost William Hurt

Penalty charge for parking
Posted 3 years agoBlast!
I've parked at a pub and did not register properly. Now I have to pay £60 or £100!
Hopefully I can get it appealed. Stupid parking requirements.

Football game victory
Posted 3 years agoFootball game was a victory for the home team. 3-2. Being a Stewart cleaner at the stadium has its benefits.
The craziest thing though was that a football fan wagered a bet of £20 to see if I could pick up some chewing gum on the ground. He underestimated my skills and I succeeded, he paid me £20.

Bolsonaro should not be trusted.
Posted 3 years agoI’m no fan of Jair Bolsonaro, the moment he took office In Brazil, but for him to criticise the vice chancellor for condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine saying it’s not his authorisation, makes me hate this guy even more.

Brazil luckily has condemned the invasion of Ukraine. It should, Brazil was an ally in world war 2.
I feel like this must be said, I feel like I should let my voice be heard.

And I know trumpers who think that Ukraine would never been invaded has he been in office.

Thoughts on Covid
Posted 3 years agoAs someone who has been vaccinated and got the booster shot. I feel like I can’t stop being silent about the situation in Canada, France and the USA.
My honest opinion boils down to this. Just get the vaccine for crying out loud. I did and it was just a sore arm for a while and that’s it. I don’t care if the virus was leaked out of a lab Project Veritas. I don’t care for the Freedom convoy for infringing the freedom of others and causing immense amount of costs due to the president’s actions. This whole outrage of considering that the mandates being compared to the Nazi third Reich or some depopulation conspiracy are just head banging. I did a history class on Germany prior to world war 2 and I don’t remember a pandemic that forced people to wear badges for vaccines, they wore them because they were either Jews, Jehovahs witnesses and homosexuals and were regarded as enemies of the Reich.
As for the depopulation conspiracy, well the human population is still going to reach 8 billion. Depopulation conspiracy my arse!

RIP Reitman
Posted 3 years agoSo valentines day kicks off with the Director of the original Ghostbusters, along with Evolution and had a role in Space Jam has joined Harold Ramis in the sky.
How depressing. 😔😔😔
I haven't watched Ghostbusters Afterlife yet but I should do. Plus I should look into other films like Dave.
Goodbye Reitman. (October 1946-February 2022).

Just when I thought January wasn't worse...
Posted 3 years agoI'm not sure how to say this but I need to get it off my chest as its rather difficult not to stop thinking about it.
I said earlier that January wasn't a good start to the year, right? Turns out that my next-door flat mate had committed suicide mid January. I never really got to know him properly, but I really would have liked to. Today his belongings are being taken away as someone asked me to help access his stuff downstairs.
I really had no idea that it happened until I was told recently, let alone how it happened. I wasn't home when the ambulance arrived, I was playing football back then, and my parents believed that it was best not to tell me that day as my university work was taking a lot of my concentration and it still is.

January not the greatest start of this year.
Posted 4 years agoIn terms of gaming, looking back to the Halo servers for the 360 finally shutting down. It is a cry to see them go.
In terms of the university, I failed my chemistry final assessment exam. It was the most unpleasant experience at university so far. I may have to retake it but I can’t confirm at this time.
I currently have a PowerPoint presentation to do tomorrow and I spent so much time trying to get it fine tuned, hopefully with the instructions followed as best as I can, that I haven’t really focused on my script. Wish me luck to do well.
One of my father’s favourite comedians, Barry Cryer died a few days ago. He would listen to “I’m sorry, I haven’t a clue” every day. I wonder if there’s an autobiography of Barry, could be a nice birthday present for him.
My iPad has also developed a problem, now it drains its battery really fast. I’ve tried all the battery saving tips, it doesn’t last more than an hour if it’s inactive. Just typing right now after it’s fully charged it’s dropped 5%. I have no idea how to fix it, so my parents got me another one that’s just as old as this one. It’s going to take a while as I have to transfer my accounts to it but I lost my passwords.

Halo Xbox 360 look back as the servers shut down next wee...
Posted 4 years agoToday is the last week for the Halo online servers on the 360. In case you don’t know. I posted a journal explaining that on December the servers were shutting down for the Halo games on the 360. Here is my previous journal if you want the full details. After I posted that journal the shutdown date was pushed back to January 13th.
https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9956140/
This meant that online multiplayer for the following games, Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo ODST and Halo 4 servers will deactivate and you will no longer be able to play multiplayer Xbox Live, no more file sharing and no more challenges on Halo Reach and 4. It also means that achievements for multiplayer on these games will no longer be unlocked if you haven’t unlocked them already. You can still unlock the single player achievements but the rest? Not so much.
I wanted to reflect my experience as a casual Halo fan who walked away from the series at Halo 4 due to a traumatic event that I wish to spare the details about.
When all said and done. I’ve now got all the achievements for the legacy 360 games, save Spartan Assault but I think I can still get those with another player after January via game sharing. Instead, I’ve spent the last few months helping others get their achievements, even today, as of this journal’s posting, I’ve helped a player get his 7 on 7 achievement, which is to get 7 exp on the 7th day of the month which is the last opportunity to get it. I think I’ve given him closure for that. But I have had a few occasions where I messed up badly for others but I will say that I hold my hands up about it.
What’s worse is that I learnt that Halo Waypoint, being discontinued meant that I couldn’t get the last Halo Waypoint Award due to a bugged code system that won’t unlock the armour piece, even though I’ve met the requirements. That’s very frustrating but what can I do?
I also won’t be able to preserve my service record as I missed that opportunity a long time ago.
Looking back I can honestly say that Halo Reach was my favourite Halo Game in terms of multiplayer and I will likely play it again this weekend. I just want to give the games one last hurrah before their sun sets. I kinda feel sad this is happening but time moves on and so will all of us.

Tyre Puncture!
Posted 4 years agoMy car’s tyre just popped outside my parents home. I’m unable to use it and the damage is quite bad.
I’m not hurt, I’m just shocked. I wasn’t going that fast over that hole that we believed to cause the puncture. I just don’t know what to say. I’m just grateful that my previous car is still with us, or I would have to wake up so early to take a train to get to campus on time.
I don’t know how much this is going to cost me. It’s just really aggravating.

Took another chemistry test. I feel so exhausted.
Posted 4 years agoI loathe chemistry tests that act like exams. I swear they make questions that throw me off and struggle to understand them. What’s important is that I’ve done what could. Despite the circumstances. I only have one more to do. Then it’s Christmas time.
But I can’t rest easy, knowing an exam is on January, I can’t stand the stress.

University, job, Covid-19, Ugh!
Posted 4 years agoI’ve been going to my university and while it’s good to be at the campus. The problem is that each of my lectures are at each day for three hours, then I can return home. Granted, I can access the library at anytime. But for me to drive 45+ minutes to there and back I think is ridiculous. I don’t think there’s enough activities to help me want to stay either. Probably need to research. Come to think of it, I realised that there was a mental well-being webinar today that I missed. Was going to work at that time so it’s not really a big deal.
I did do a chemistry test on Sunday. I got 14-20. Not too bad. Guess all that extra revision for the subjects covered was worth it. But I feel like I need help in preparation for future tests and exams such as one in January.
My road sweeper job has become more and more tedious, due to lots of leaves carpeting the roads and pavements. Thank goodness my parents are there to help me dispose of the bags I filled up. We got confronted by someone who thought the way I was disposing the leaves in a large hippo bag was somehow fly tipping. He was really aggressive about it and refused to give us his name and was really upset at me calling him “Sir”, acting like it’s guys like me who ruin the environment. I don’t think he knows me, or he would’ve eaten his words. 🙄
As for COVID-19, well my fitness coach contracted it, but he’s back in and jogging, but my friend from football has it, along with his wife and kids, so staying indoors is the best option for him. I hope he gets better soon.
