Working on some personal stuff, but also starting to think about how I'm gonna do commissions and junk. Kinda gonna play around with stuff for the most part, and relearn the brushes in Photoshop.

Considering opening commissions
General | Posted 10 years agoSo, before I even start doing something like this, I've got some things to set up and go over myself, but I'm entertaining the idea of doing some commissions over the summer to help pay for school expenses and the like.
Just a little heads-up for any of you true OGs who watched me before I sold out.

This pretty much drove a spear through my heart.
General | Posted 12 years agoNot a bad spear. Sort of... Closure. Maybe closure is a bad word for it, because I feel like it will still hurt me when I reflect on it, but this is so amazingly spot-on what I feel I went through.

Ask Tumblrs!
General | Posted 13 years agoSo, since I have kicked my own ass into art practice overdrive for the first time ever (I'm sinking $1000 into a Wacom Cintiq 12WX, so you know I'm for realz), and to help keep my motivation up, I've created two pony-related ask tumblrs.
http://askpsychodashie.tumblr.com
http://askhowlinggale.tumblr.com
Obviously, Psycho Dashie is more thematic, while Howling Gale will be my own OC (me, I guess) answering questions ICly.
Go follow them, even if you don't plan on hanging around Tumblr. Because your support would be fantastic. ^_^
And if you don't have a tumblr, you should make one! You don't NEED to make updates, but it's just a super fun site in general.

WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THESE UNANSWERED QUESTIONS?
WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THESE UNANSWERED QUESTIONS?
Oh god, why.
General | Posted 14 years agoHoly fuck, some of the people that I know.
Either I'm way too insightful for my own good, or I really need to pursue separate avenues of friendship.
Something's seriously screwed up, though. Some of this crap just ain't worth the grief.

Osama Bin Laden Confirmed Dead
General | Posted 14 years agoYeah, I think justice was done, myself, but I'm somewhat sickened by the inhuman, unethical things that people have been saying.
Yes, he ordered horrible things be done, and he was a monster among men. Perhaps even a Hitler of our own generation.
That being said, I find it apalling that some people would see him strung up in Times Square by his entrails to be beaten and burned (yes, I saw this said).
No matter what someone may have done in life, their body is a shell of what once was. Imagine if your spouse, parent, child, or loved one did something awful at some point in time, and an entire country wanted to string them up? Is this not the exact sort of treatment that the Al-Qaeda intended for every American at one point in time?

UPDATE
General | Posted 14 years agoFundraisers fucking suck to work solo dishwashing at.
My back is fucking killing me.
My neck feels like someone torqued it.
My wrist aches like crazy.
I skinned my damn knuckle, scalded my right palm, and have a splitting headache.
Oh, yeah. And I turn 20 on Wednesday.
Happy fucking hatchday to me. *confetti*
EDIT: It's not a belated/late happy birthday if it hasn't happened yet!

General | Posted 15 years agoCan it wait a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations.
Words to live by, I hope.
General | Posted 15 years agoNo, you're not in trouble. :P
I've just been thinking some, lately, of the nature of relationships. And, really, in the end, it isn't all that difficult to keep them going, so long as both sides are 100% adamant in keeping three simple things running. And they're pretty basic.
Trust, Compromise, Communication.
This isn't just something I've come up with on my own. A psychology major friend of mine concurred with me completely.
It's really simple, to be honest. As long as you trust the other person, come to meaningful compromises with them to reach middle ground on conflicts that can't be solved any other way, and communicate with them about everything, everything will be alright. That means no chasing them about without them knowing, or spying on them. If you can't come to an agreement, you may have to give up a thing or two to stay happy--this is how relationships work. One of the most important things, in my opinion, though, is communication.
Communication is the BACKBONE of our society. Of EVERYTHING that makes us what we are. Communication is the basis around which all of our technology and government was founded. So why is it so difficult for people to understand that running from your problems and curling up in a pitiful little ball when you SHOULD be working things out and stonewalling those you love IS NOT the solution? Don't go to bed angry--stay up and shout. Go to bed when you can't shout anymore. Think about it this way: is it really that much worse to suffer a few minutes of unpleasantness to get past your issues? Or would you rather spend a week or more simmering in it, whether it's justified or not, and risk losing what you hold most dear?
Trust is an odd bird, itself. Trust does not necessarily mean never telling a lie. Lies will be told--these are mistakes as long as the liar admits them to be. And people make mistakes. Trust is about believing the sincerity of the apology after a lie is told. Trust is the smile that you give someone when they promise you something. Trust is believing in someone even when they're in the worst of ways.
Compromise is very complicated, as well. Occasionally there will be issues that both people can't agree upon. So what can be done? Compromise. Both sides come to a partial solution to meet in the middle--they give up some but not all of what they don't want to give up in place of having to give it up completely.
I'm not trying to point fingers at anyone from my past, and I'm not trying to yell at anyone who is now or will at sometime down the road be angry at me for some reason. Just don't lose faith in the people you love. Talk to them. Love them enough to let things go. And everything will turn out right.
Don't throw everything away because you were too weak to hold up under the pressure.

Friggin' excited.
Friggin' excited.
Well, screw it then.
General | Posted 15 years agoAfter I had waitresses treat me like a doormat again, and after I skinned my knuckle on Tuesday, I actually did still have a sliver of hope left for the restaurant I work at. But after tonight, I'm 100% done with this place. The person who was supposed to dish tonight decided they were too sick to work, and when I said no, my stepdad came down on me. Said I was a lazy, good for nothing mooch who does nothing but ask favors from others, and never return them myself.
Anyone who even for a few minutes worked with me knows that I'll do practically anything you ask. Today was different, in that Tuesday had very much dampened my motivation to stick my neck out for people.
So, now that a somewhat disinterested, uncaring environment has turned into a thankless, self-indulgent one, I've decided that I don't have even one ounce of respect left for the place. Time to move on to better things. =/

noctome-wulf and
rika are being married today, and I just want to wish the two of them many, many wonderful, love-filled years together.
Just remember, when you have unconditional love, anything is possible. You two can overcome anything together as long as you never forget that. ^^

Discounted BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, anyone?
General | Posted 15 years agoSince, due to recent events, I've managed to get my hands on a ticket, and am going to be attending in-person, I'm probably going to sell this guy out. Standard cost for it is $39.95. Lemme know what you guys will pay for it, and I'll hand over my account information so that you can watch BlizzCon 2010 online on October 22 - 23.
Before you guys ask, unfortunately I wouldn't be able to give you the Deathy pet, since the virtual ticket is already linked to my battle.net profile. Also, the login is standalone--this would not be able to give you access to my battle.net account. So, this doesn't exactly put me in danger of getting hacked.
So, lemme know what you guys think is a good price! I accept Paypal. <3
Edit: Oh, also, the streamer's site recommends a bandwidth of AT LEAST 1 MB/s to properly run the player. When you log in, you'll be able to download the RayV codec for the on-site streaming client, which will stream all of the events.

MY NAME'S ELMER
General | Posted 15 years agoMy take on BM...
General | Posted 15 years agoOkay, I'm gonna be frank. Nothing turns me off of a game more than being relatively new, and having some jerkoff with a keyboard tell me I'm garbage.
That's the simple way of saying it. The more complex version is that I evaluate someone, when playing a game, on several levels. One obvious level is skill, and tends to be the level that most people stick themselves to, but I also take other things into account. Benjamin Franklin himself said that humility to superiors is duty, humility to equals is courtesy, and humility to inferiors is nobility. I personally follow this code to the letter--I try to be nice, constructive and disarming as I can to anyone I can. That includes trolls. I don't tend to talk back, ever, and most trolls seem to think that means that they "win". All rambling aside, however, I believe in humility and grace on all fronts, especially in a game like League of Legends, or Starcraft 2. Matches in those games are often hard fought, and are entirely based on the cumulative skill of teams. As such, teamwork is extremely tantamount to victory, even in defeat. All-in-all, I guess the point here is that I judge people's gaming based on their skill as well as their attitude. I don't want to play games with someone who's a dynamo of amazingness at a game if they're an ass all the time. I would, however, gladly play games with people who are awful, but have a good attitude.
In that sense, I tend to ignore skill. If you're a dick, go away. If you're bad, it's no problem if you have a good attitude, and are willing to learn.
Another thing that irks me is that people tend to be enormously critical of your approach to a game, but don't offer ANY constructive comments. These are the most useless kind of trolls--the ones who just yell at you to make themselves feel better about their own skill. If I have a problem with the way someone plays, I don't just go 'RAWR YOU'RE GARBAGE UNINSTALL', I try to help them get better. I've made loads of friends just by being nice, and I'm getting slowly better because of it.
I mean, the point here is simple. As long as you just relax and enjoy the game, you're a good gamer in my book. Even if you feed teams on LoL, and go 0 - 20 - 15 constantly, you're a GOOD PLAYER, simply because you take your falls with grace, and land on your feet running, rather than flop on your ass and have a hissy fit.
</rant>
PS: BM means bad manners, for those of you who don't know the term.
