🌱 Commissions CLOSED 🌱
Posted 5 months ago

Hello everyone!I will be closing commissions for the time being. My mother has been scheduled for a somewhat last-minute surgery on her foot in two weeks, so I will be travelling back to the US for about two months to help her while she recovers. It's a very spur-of-the-moment situation, but once I get settled in and figure out how much time I'll have on my hands, I can see about reopening commissions for those who are interested.
💕 Thank you for understanding! 💕

Vacation!
Posted 5 months ago

Hello, lovelies!
Just wanted to put out a little notice that my activity is going to be somewhat less until the first week of June is done. We've got a friend staying with us, and we're planning a short, week-long trip out of the country alongside his stay. I will still take commissions for those interested at this time, but progress will likely be significantly slower until after June 10th. I plan to return to my usual uploading speed once we're no longer entertaining a guest and the dust has settled a bit!
Thank you for your patience! <3

Hello, world!
Posted 6 months ago

Posting a journal since I realized that the last one I put out is from about two years ago—I am indeed alive!
I wanted basically to give that quick update, but also to put out into the universe that I'm much more seriously considering taking commissions soon. I've been setting the groundwork for that over the course of the last few weeks and should have a follow up on that in the coming weeks! I've been doing quite a few different pixel art studies recently, so I feel much more confident in my abilities than I did previously. I'm currently working on at least one more animation study, then I plan on getting to work on a price sheet and ToS.
If you read this far, thank you! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!

Slowly Breaking my Longterm Hiatus
Posted 3 years agoHeya everyone!
I hope you enjoyed the cute little pixels I uploaded recently! I wanted to go on ahead and post an update here for those interested; so much has happened since I was last active on Furaffinity, but most noteworthy is that I'm actually moving out of the country next month! Things have been pretty chaotic while we've been getting ready for that, but for the first few months of adjusting to a new country, my husband and I agreed that I should take it easy while I acclimate and learn a bit more of the language.
That being said, I'm considering opening for pixel icon commissions to garner up a bit of funds on the side! I've never "officially" opened for commissions before, but I'm seriously considering it now! The Furaffinity community has always been wonderfully supportive of my artwork, so I've gotten a bit of a confidence boost!
Anyways, that about covers it; I hope you all are doing well! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this far!

Posted 3 years agoHeya everybody!
I've actually been a little bit active behind the scenes recently and am gonna be uploading a bunch of pixel icons I made recently! I hope you enjoy them!
I'm hoping that now that I've finished university, I'll have more opportunities to be more active on here! ^u^

MAJOR LIFE CHANGE
Posted 6 years agoSorry for the constant inactivity, guys. X-ray school has been sucking the life out of me. Over the course of the past months, I've been finding myself not to enjoy it like I thought I would, so I tried to "force" myself to enjoy it. In turn, I've come to genuinely resent it. I tend to come home from clinicals and just cry about what went wrong that day, and it's become so pathetic. So after multiple frustrating talks with my parents, we've decided it's for the best that I pursue something different—something NOT healthcare.
As of right now, I will be going in today to sign my resignation papers and will be applying to my local community college so I can wrap up a few prerequisite courses before pursuing a bachelors degree in biology. Then, if all goes well, I intend to master in marine biology, which is something I know will make me so, so much happier! In the meantime, I have a lot of free time, so I'm hoping to possibly work on some more artwork to post!
I'm so sorry that I've been so quiet guys, there's just been so much going on :')

HOLY SHOOT
Posted 7 years agoHoly moly guys, I've been so busy lately!
If you've read some of my past journals, you'll know I got into one of the most competitive Radiology Tech programs in the state. Within the first week, I've learned how to use so many different things throughout the hospital and I've even done check-offs and a few of them. Not to mention, even I had my first test Friday (I think I nailed it)! It's pretty tiring doing these things for eight hours a day, but man is it rewarding. It provides a feeling of accomplishment like no other!
I'm just glad that before all of this, I was able to make it to Portugal to meet
!! Due to some flight delays, we didn't make it there until almost 1am local time, but bless his heart, he was there waiting for me. It was honestly amazing in every way that I could ever describe, and I'm already making plans to head back there sometime next year when I get some time off. Can I also just add that being in Europe during the World Cup is .. an out of body experience?
I don't even like sports, but I was into sports for that week.
And that week only.
As for the art side of things, I hope that once things settle in and I get my clinical rotations going, I'll have less tests and a little more time to myself. Drawing has been a nice stress reliever for me, so maybe if I don't have the time to work on a full-on digital piece, I'll do some traditional stuff. How would you guys feel about notebook sketch pages?

Portugal!
Posted 7 years agoI can't believe I'm saying this, but my parents pulled me aside yesterday and told me that they'd be willing to take me to Portugal to finally meet my long-distance partner,
!!
I wish that there were words I could say to express how grateful and excited I am, but honestly it's so difficult to describe! This is something I've wanted since we started dating back in late 2016, so the fact that we finally have a set date to meet each other is so surreal to me—I almost can't believe it. Knowing me, I don't think reality's going to hit until I'm stepping onto the plane! Now I've gotta find someone to fish-sit for me while I'm away for a week in June.
That being said, I really need to scrap some more cash together for this trip. I'm wondering if I should try getting a summer job or trying to sell a few adoptables or something like that? Would that be something you all would be interested in? If I did, I'd probably set an AB for them at like .. $10-15 or something like that. I just want a little spending money for my trip, nothing too overboard, so don't worry if you're not a fan of this stuff, if I do go through with it, there'll only be a few!
Thank you for reading! I hope all is going well on your parts!

News!
Posted 8 years agoMerry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone!!
Been a little while since I put out anything noteworthy here, so here goes!
As I mentioned in my previous "Life Update" journal, I was intending to apply to my radiology program. This program had a slim chance of me getting in; they only accept 11 individuals out of the 80+ that apply. However, I'm proud to say that after being called in for an interview over a month ago, the news is back—this coming semester will be my last at community college. Starting the fall, I'll be attending classes at my local hospital for experience in lectures and clinicals. I'm beyond excited!
This means that my life is going exactly according to plan—I'm set to graduate from the program in 2020, and life will take me from there!
This program will be very complex and require a lot of my time. I think in total I have about six weeks off in the entire year. That's a drastic change from my current classes, which I only attend twice a week and have the rest off. It'll be a change, but I'm willing to dedicate because I know that this will lead into what will eventually be my career!
Thanks for reading!

Life Update! College, fish, and more!
Posted 8 years agoI managed to get my summer classes through with! This has been a major milestone for me, because now I've officially completed all the classes I need to apply for my radiology tech program! This means that hopefully, if I get in, I'll be starting classes around July of 2018, and be done with my education by 2020, which is about a year sooner than most of the students entering into college with the intention of going through the same program! My fall semester is going to be a lot more lightweight; just two classes which are only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That's even more lax than my Summer was, so hopefully I'll be able to dust off the tablet and get back to doing some more art here and there.
Onto some fish-related news, my betta Aquillo will hopefully be moving into the lovely Fluval Spec V I bought for him soon! While it cycles and builds up some beneficial bacteria, I'm treating him for a stubborn fin rot infection that's been eating his caudal fin a bit. Oddly enough, every other fin seems fine. It's nothing serious, but aquarium salt does no good. If getting him moved into a cycled, planted tank doesn't help, I'll have to give Kanaplex/Furan-2 a try. While I work with getting Aquillo situated, I made an impulse buy—I purchased a 20G High aquarium that I'm hoping to stock towards the fall season! I'm really hoping to try looking into some Kuhli loaches, cherry shrimp, and some dwarf golden barbs? I'm tentatively eyeing a pair of blue rams at my local pet store that seem to be in surprisingly good health given their reputation of dying easily. If the tank cycles well and I go through with all of this, I'll perhaps see about getting a pair once the tank is set up and ages a few months or so!
I've also got some exciting personal news, as well! Around December I decided it was time to change my diet around a bit, so I started watching my calories. Since then, I can proudly say that I've gone from 218.5 lbs to 180.5 lbs! That's 38 lbs lost in a couple of months! I'm so stupidly proud of myself for that, but I still have a lot more weight I want to lose—my target weight is 140-145 lbs. I think that's a relatively healthy weight for my height, which is about 5'6. All I've been doing is keeping track of my calories and watching what I eat/drink! It was a little difficult at first, but nowadays it's a lifestyle and I've got nothing wrong with that!
I hope that everyone had a great summer and is doing well!
Thank you if you managed to read this far!

Fishkeeping Advice?
Posted 8 years agoHey everyone!
I've recently gotten into the aquarium-keeping hobby and I worry that I may have delved into things just a little too soon—I invested in a five gallon tank for my betta fish, Caspian, but he had some complications from the start. He was very colorless on the shelf at Petco, but I had hopes that maybe some time in a large tank would perk him up. He had some fin rot that I tried treating with frequent water changes (nearly 1/3 of the tank daily), but unfortunately he passed away about seven days after I brought him home. He'd been struggling with eating from the start, so I had my doubts, but also had some hope that he'd recover.
I'm planning on starting over and currently am trying to cycle my five gallon tank, but I'm worried about the pH level of my water, which is nearing 6.0 because of the Stress Coat+ I've been using. Does anyone know a water conditioning product I could use that will have the same benefits of Stress Coat+ without the negative effect of making my water more acidic? I'd really appreciate some feedback from anyone who might know!

Another Status Update!
Posted 9 years agoSo I'm sure a lot of you have probably not heard from me in quite a while, but that's unfortunately been due to some happenings in my personal life. After the recent loss of my grandfather, I've been spending a bit more time focusing on my family and especially my mother, who's also been incredibly stressed with the upcoming holidays. I'm not sure if my activity will improve much in the coming weeks either, due to my new semester's schedule being quite demanding. I need to cram classes this semester in order to be able to apply to my radiology program this next October.
Assuming I am one of only eleven students to make it on into the final program in 2018, it will be the equivalent of a full-time job and will be immensely stressful. Obviously, I will still do what I can to post here and there, but school and work will of course be my priority. The upcoming year is going to have a lot in store for me, and I want to do everything I can within my power to ensure that I set the pace for what will most likely become my life-long career. If I don't make it into the program, I will be forced to stand by for a year—which I will spend taking the classes I would need to get a degree in applied science—and then apply again. I hope that I am one of the few who will be lucky enough to enter into the program in 2018, because I would love to be done with college before I'm 22.
But, in the meantime, we shall see how life goes!
For those of you who read this far, thank you very much and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Stressed
Posted 9 years agoI'm alright, but I've been feeling less and less content with college recently. Although I'm doing well in all of my classes, the workload is getting to be quite a lot to handle and the stress is definitely setting in. I'm sorry for not posting much these past few weeks—I'm pretty sure I had a dry period on here for almost a month before I uploaded a few things just recently. Between school and some personal things going on in my life right now, I've just had a lot to process recently and it's really been bringing me down. I'll be alright, but right now I'm just trying to do what I need to in order to stay afloat.
Update!
Posted 9 years agoCollege is going really well so far! I've been keeping pretty busy, busier than I expected, but so far I'm loving it! I've met some new people, and all of my professors seem like genuinely nice people. Still slogging through Monday's homework, but I'll be done soon hopefully. I've got to give a small speech tomorrow, but it only needs to be a minute long, so throwing a little something together shouldn't be that much of a chore. As for the weekend, hopefully starting Thursday I'll be back at the good 'ol drawing grind and you'll be able to see more from me! Until next time!
Little Announcement!
Posted 9 years agoTomorrow, August 22nd, is my official first day of college! Since I'm not sure of what I'll be up against, my uploads may come a bit slower these next few weeks. I have no classes Friday through Sunday, so assuming I'm not bogged down with homework on these days, I'll still do whatever I can to upload something here or there. I've also got a new PC on the way, so it may take me a day or two to get everything set up on that. I'm looking forward to the changes, however, and hopefully this journal entry won't even be necessary! See you next time, lovelies! ❤️
