Oh holidays, how you sneak up on me....

Hope you North AMerican Furs had a pleasant Thanksgiving. Mine was certainly tasty ^_^ Christmas is officially on the way and with it comes all the joys and stresses we all know and love. My gods, the list of cookies I'll be baking and mailing out this year is twice as long as last year O.o

Still working on commissions and other pieces. With my new tablet, I have been fiddling around more in digital artwork and it's coming back quicker to me than pencil and paper. Also, I can turn things out faster than before and with a lot more detail. Plus, smut. Can't forget the smut.

Pics are taken using my iPhone camera, so the resolution is low, lighting is usually poor, and fine details can be lost. However, the rather steady flow of activity there will give you an idea on what I've been up to and in the case of commissions, serve as a WIP archive, so I figured it was worth it to tidy these up a bit and post them.

Got power back at my place yesterday morning (literally, about 10 minutes before I got home, according to the flashing clock that greeted me) and just got internet back sometime between then and now. Still in dire need of monies, but I'll post about that separately. Work was an adventure, being one of the few gas stations in the area with power. I thought sitting in the lines was entertaining, corralling them was FUN :p

For those still w/o power in the North East, I wish them speedy recovery! I've already had a few friends over to use the shower and to charge communications devices in the spare outlets. It's been like a weird little party actually!

So the North East was hit by a freak snowstorm that took out record tree limbs and power outages across the region. Ive spent the last few days @ my parents home where they have a woodatove, generator, and fireplace. Power was just reatored here a few minutes ago (4am est) and theres a good chance my place has power as well. Internet is.still iffy but thank god for smart phones and 3G networks!

InSANELY frustrating issue with AVG shutting OC down after about 5 seconds of trying to network. Hamachi hasn't helped at all >:(

First the Sad News:

On September 1st, my rabbit, Luggage, passed away. He had a massive seizure and died in my arms. He was 5 1/2 years old. I miss him terribly still...

And the Good News:

I'm all set for Furfright 2011, where I will be selling my sock dolls and artwork. My best friend, K-san will be attending with me as my assistant, and she will be selling duct tape roses and crochet Chibi Cthulu's.

I HAVE been drawing over the summer, but I still have no scanner, so you'll just have to take my word for it. I'll be house-sitting for the folks later this month, so I'm hoping to round up my sketches and papers and spend a few hours scanning and editing and posting.

Until alter, all, just letting you know I'm still not dead.

Not entirely in any case...

Life totally whapped my upside the head and I've gone from Rock Bottom to making my way Back On Top. New apartment, new city, new lease on life, new love, new Foxy! My scanner has totally died (RIP HP 3-in-1) and I'm currently drawing mostly on scrap paper, as the sketchbooks I've purchased have all been packed away and I'm hella lazy about unpacking them again.

But I HAVE been drawing a lot more! :userandros: can testify to that! Sewing hasn't happened in months, but I really need to get on that, since I'll be selling my wares@ Furfright, along with my buddy RJ who is selling custom-made FANGS!

One of these days, I'll go borrow my mom's scanner and flood FA with all teh arts that have been unleashed after the massive emotional/psychological block was destroyed.

This year, At Fufrfright 2011, I will be selling my artwork and sock dolls in the Dealers Dungeon!

I now have 6 months to build up stock!

Luggy is FINALLY eating on his own! It's slow and kinda picky, but it's steady. He's finally figuring out the whole formula for success:

Eating Green food and water = we don't shove nasty goop medicine-food down his mouth.

He's been off his pain meds since last night, since he was putting up too much of a fight when i tried to inject him, and he seems ok. He's nibbling hay and the dried herbs I gave him from the Herbarium, and takes the rest of his meds without a fuss. I think it's safe to say he's almost out of the woods :)

He's slowly on the mend! After much pain meds, force-feeding, injections, and other medications plus near constant syringe-feedings, I think Luggy is finally figuring out an important lesson:

"If I eat lettuce and hay, then Mommy and Daddy will stop shoving nasty goop in my mouth!"

He's putting a lot of fight into the force-feedings, but will still let me give him water in a dropper. He's eaten half of a large Romaine leaf, which is about 1/6 his usual daily intake, and I've seen him nibbling at his hay a few times.

Still not out of the woods yet, but he's making slow progress. Keep prayers going! Thank you to anyone sending good vibes out way! <3

My rabbit is really sick.

It seems to be a combination of GI stasis and a kidney infection. I"m terrified that I didn't find out soon enough and he's really really sick and in pain. I've been to 2 vets this weekend and he still isn't' eating. I"m on the brink of crying ever 5 seconds. He's on meds and I have to force-feed him every 3-4 hours and try to get him to eat or drink on his own.

I just want to snap my fingers and have him be back to his usual bouncy self.

I don't know what's going to happen and I'm so so so god damned scared. I want to be positive and focus on him getting better, but I just keep stressing and focusing on what's wrong with him NOW.

Please send prayers. We need them over here.

Due to my failing to renew my car registration, getting a new kitten, having her and my rabbit not get along (he tried to attack her), all my freaking bills come in at once, my travel partner unable to make it, and no place to stay at the hotel (or in anything nearby), I don't hink I"m going to make it to the con.

At least not for the entire weekend. I have NEVER missed a Furfright and I don't intend to start now, However, I may have to pull a one-day event this year and arrive at ass-oclock on Saturday and leave by like 5 or 6 pm. Saturday is usually the BEST day of the con.

Still need to take care of things, and draw. It's hard to draw when you have an adorable baby kitty mewing at you and climbing up your pant leg for attention. But my Nov 1st deadline looms for NAF. I have a bunch of old sketches I"m going to re-scan and send in, but i wanted something new up at well.

I really hate this place. I've had bad feelings about it for the last 3 weeks.

While signing the lease, the manger was going over the terms with me and kept this condescending, snotty tone in her voice the whole time, treated me like a was stupid, and she was a really disagreeable cuntrag the whole time. She was nasty to my dad too, so it didn't seem like a personal attack. Still, you'd think they'd want to be NICE to the people who are giving them money.

I've been here less than a week. Moved in on Tuesday the 21st. The place was a mess. my parents and I started cleaning and when I washed the windows, the paper towels came back BLACK. there are holes in the screens, that carpets were not washed very well, and someone was smoking in here b/c there was a thin layer of smoke grime on the windows and even the light switches. Which don't work in any room but the bathroom and kitchen. The blinds were filthy and the landowners said they don't replace the blinds, but we managed to get them to do it. Still waiting on the screen repairs.
I've been trying to unpack and get my stuff put away but there's still so much I need to get (shelves, tables, etc) and then THIS happens....

The fucking apartment has ROACHES. Just my place, mind you. The neighbors across the hall (friend of mine who were thrilled when i told them i was moving in, but are now really surprised by how the real estate people have been treating me). I haven't talked to the downstairs neighbors to see if they have any bug problems, yet, but will be knocking on doors tmw. The exterminators are SUPPOSED to come tmw morning. My dad managed to catch one of the bugs on some tape to show the bug guys just what they're dealing with.

I can't fucking believe this place. I want out. I hate it here and I just want to find a 'forever' home for me and my furbabies. Thank god i haven't brought Luggy or Achilles home yet. Even though all I want to do right now is cry and scream and cuddle something fluffy and warm and loving, I'm glad they're both safe and sound and well-cared for and not having to deal with this bullshit.

I'm about ready to throw i the fucking towel on this place. My parents (who are co-signers on the lease) have made it very clear to the landlords that no bullshit will be tolerated and the exterminators will clean this place out posthaste, or else legal action WILL be sought.
Everyone keeps telling me I need to calm down and just get thru this, that things will work out, and even B is talking about moving in with me by winter, once he gets a job in town and his license back. But I just can't seem to find a silver lining here. I've had bad feelings for weeks about this place and now all my worries are coming to fruition. I haven't done a tarot reading in forever, all my stuff is packed up still. Fuck it, i can't even find my childhood 'comfort item', my stuffed Michaelangelo plush I've had since I was 4.

well not so much a couch, per say, as i'm currently crashing on an inflatable bed in my mom's spare room. Me stuff is all in storage, the apartment is getting worked on (paint, cleaning, repairs, etc) as we speak, and i will hopefully be getting a move-in date for mid september.

I'm right now using mom's laptop, since neither I not my Bf can figure out why the wireless router here won't allow me onto the network. as such, i have no access to my tablet or anything artistic for a while. On the plus side, my old cat, Missy, has been overjoyed at my being here and has not left my side.

I literally told 6 Flags to fuck off and I'd had it with being a "soul-less automaton for the corporate brain washers". God i've never felt better about leaving a crappy job. My other job is going great, it's easy, good pay and room to grow.

.... No, not 'Back To School' sales or anything like that. Well, technically it is, but that's not what I'm talking about.

September means I"m moving AGAIN! >_< I don't know why but my leases all seems to run out in Septembers.

Anyway, I've been busting my tail working 2 jobs, apartment hunting, and haven't even had time to pack. I move out of here on September 1st, but my apartment won't be ready until Mid-Sept. So I"ll be couch surfing for a few weeks. Luggy will be staying at my sister's place, with his own private bathroom to lounge in and all the organic veggies he could want.

So the lack of art will continue, although I DO have to get my ass in gear and submit things to NAF, now that I know what kinds of things go into it. Gods willing, I"ll get my act together, get settled and have things done around Furfright to showcase in the Artist Alley. Must go buy my tickets....

But first, I"m off to drop off my Apt application and cross my fingers they get it all done quickly.

To my AIM friends/stalkers/etc, this is why i've not been online much this summer. Life has given me a beating this year o.o

Still in a massive slump, altho my work has inspired a few receipt doodles that i can't scan b/c it's heat-sensitive paper....
Tho i have a friend who has been trying to get me into drawing again by posing as my model.

BUT! I will have a few photos up in about a week. At long last, I'm getting my first tattoo done by none other than Mark Bode himself!
