Finally starting my seasonal job at 5+1 Banners: New England this weekend, so while it's not much, it's at least some form of income.
Trying to play a delicate balancing act with a packed social life, weekend job that will be moving to a daily after Memorial Day, and keeping up with rehearsals for the local Repo cast, Genetic Imperfection.
Artwork has fallen by the way-side, even though I'm desperately trying to find time/ inspiration for it. I still have to re-scan my submissions to NAF before the may 1st deadline, since I'm a dipshit and don't have a working scanner anymore and have to borrow my mom's weird machine when i go visit.

Nothing really to update ya'll with, just more of the same. Hopefully my time at 5+1 Banners will provide a few interesting stories/pic ideas.

EDIT: Oh, i almost forgot! I'm actually getting a decent amount of money back on my taxes this year, so barring any financial fuck-me's (which the universe always seems to throw at me at tax time...) I'll be getting my tattoo done within the next month. So there will be pics of that up eventually ^_^

Got some antibiotics on Friday and my tonsils are slowly returning to normal size. Yaaay! Now i no longer sound like Meatwad :D

In other news, still no artwork... just haven't been in a mood to sketch much of anything :/ I"m hoping that once I'm done with rehearsing for Repo! and getting my Pavi faces drawn on/set up in latex and the show is done, I'll have the time and energy to devote to my artwork again.

After an utterly awesome and busy weekend of Goth Bowling, going out with friends, having a memorial dinner for Nick (March 15th would have been his 27th birthday), and looking forward to going clubbing this week, I came down with a case of tonsillitis on Monday.

4 days later, they show no sign of improvement, but no worsening. It takes about 7-10 days for me to get over a case of this, even with all my herbal medicines and treatments.
Still, this is becoming an annual event. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've had it in my life, and the second year in a row (again, in the spring). I swear, as soon as I get decent health insurance, I'm going to find out what it takes to get them removed.

Been spending more time with my cuddly friends, and while it's not excatly what I"m looking for, it helps.

Also MARDI GRAS! Oh lord, do I love me some Fat Tuesday ^_^ Got 38 strings of beads at the local goth club last night, which was nowhere near the 300+ sets that the 2 girls competing for most beads got. But I dun care, it was fun.

ALSO ALSO! 10,000 hits!!!! Thank you, Lynn, my roomie who was checking out my site and just happened to notice it was 10,000 XD I've been trying to figure out what to do for a pic for that and I've got a few ideas to choose from. Now to just find inspiration.

The fucking Universe needs to stop cock-blocking me!

I'm so fucking frustrated that I can't even bring myself to draw smut, since it's just turning into more and more of just wishful thinking. I almost didn't think it was possible to rub something in one's own face, but it's getting close.

I've been blessed with dear friends and online lovers across the East Coast and various parts of Europe. I love all of you guys, but I wish to everything holy and otherwise my nearest potential cuddle-buddy wasn't over 2.5 hours away.

Yeah, 2.5 hours may not seem like much, but when you're unemployed until April, living off a savings account, and generally trying to make every ounce of gasoline count, 2.5 hours of driving for just a day-visit is a lot.

Have you ever craved physical affection to the point where it became a painful, physical NEED? Yeah, I'm getting close to that point....

I'm still poor and unemployed (got my position back at Six Flags, but that doesn't start until late March), and lazy as fuck, so i can't afford to get cards for the people I love this year. And drawing them all would take for freaking ever.

Actually, I lie. I got cards for my immediate family and roomies, but that's about it ;p

But anyway, I wanted to just take a moment and tell a few special friends of mine how much they have meant to me in the last year.

Ever have a day that was far from uplifting?

I seriously think the highlight of my day was making a horrific pun to  Andros

So I wasn't even expecting to get any physical gifts from my immediate family this year, since mom's mantra the last few weeks has been "It's going to be a TINY Christmas this year!"
Hell, i didn't even bother to write up a list. I pretty much told my family I wanted/needed cash this year. So I was pleasantly surprised to have 2 small bags of stuff to unwrap ^_^

-$100 cash from mom and dad
-$30 from my sister
-$20 gift cert to Holyoke Mall from my nephew
-very pretty scarf, hand-knit by mom
-AAA membership renewal
-2 calendars: one Irish, with many of the pics being of places I'd been to as a child; one Notes From The Universe
-Ireland magnet for the fridge
-copies of my favorite recipes that my grandmother's used to make <3<3<3

And the few things from Aunty Pam (who is FINALLY getting better at picking out nice clothes for me)
-Lovely Arabian-style top
-Gift cards to Lane Bryant and WalMart
-Heavy implication that, should I ever need her to, she'd be happy to help me out financially

Josh, the lucky bugger, got a shit-ton of DVD's including the ENTIRE Twilight Zone series!
At least we won't be bored for the rest of the winter ;p

Oh, and a friend of mine is going to sell me his spare LCD screen for $100 and a tin of my Chocolate Orgasm Cookies! So hopefully by this time next week, I'll be able to draw in color again and actually SEE things as they're supposed to look. Currently, everything is insanely dark and it's nearly impossible to browse FA from my own machine.

It just isn't the holidays without my mom bitching at me and dad during dinner prep ;p

How do you merge 2 pics in layers (like from 2 different files) into one file and then delete the background of the top layer?

ie: i have a premade background i want to add my sketch to but i don't know how to delete the 'whitespace' around my cropped drawing so that the background shows thru.

Make sense?

So I'm still out of a job, much like everyone else in this country. I've applied for food stamps to help feed myself and Luggy, cashed in old savings bonds to pay my half of the rent for this month, but if I don't find something soon, I"m going to be in a shit-load of hell.

One write up too many... had 3 already due to lateness earlier in the fall (fucking traffic) and this was considered 'a possible threat in a no-tolerance workplace'. SO after 2+ years of slavery, they fired me.

On the other: well, i hated the job and was looking for holiday help. Now i'm free to find something else, Or multiple something else's. Just going to be hard to get a reference from the office now...

So thanks to a VERY generous donation/birthday/christmas gift from my aunt, i got myself a new desktop. The HP Slimline is installed and set up and running like a dream.

I took no chances this time. I had a friend who knows what he's doing set it up. I didn't even dare take it out of the box by myself! But I have a very good feeling about this machine. I"m not holding my breath, just waiting for something to go wrong.

Now the next step is ditching this ancient monitor. It shows everything as insanely darker than it actually is, making art almost impossible. So after I pay my rent with next week's paycheck, my next purchase will be a flat-screen monitor.

The laptop is still being worked on, and once i have it (and my tablet, which i stupidly left in the lappy case >_<) back home, I'm going to use both.

Oh and I also have a working, bug-free version of OC again, so once I get everything back in order, i'll be able to OC again! Woot!

Another successful FurFright ^_^.

Got to meet a bunch of awesome people, got a few lovely badges made, was made up to look like a zombie and then swim in the hotel pool, didn't get much drawing done at all, but that's the only downside.

Belic, K'Gra, you two are the best furs in the fandom and I will never be able to thank you guys for creating this con 6 years ago.

Ok now that that's out of the way, here's the low down:

I will be arriving at the con around 11am (traffic willing) with  Blitzava and 4 others who's names I'm not sure of here in FA <_<. Help Blitz set up her stuff in the Dealers Dungeon and then make the rounds.

For most of the con, I'll be camping out in the Artists Atrium, as we called it last year XD Just look for the short, red-headed foxy with long hair, glasses, and a Happy Bunny hoodie. Oh and an Invader Zim messenger bag.

I WILL be taking commissions for pencil, ink, and grayscale drawings in sketchbooks, as well as $5 B/W badges. Prices will be listed at the con and subject to change as my funds run out XD

i absolutely cannot WAIT to see everyone this year!  Blitzava,  ECmajor,  hollenheist,  Mottenfest  sundered-fox  o-kemono,  fossil  Caliosidhe And everyone else! *bounce bounce bounce*

-Clean out junk from my car so I can FIT everything/one into my vehicle. Might even vacuum the thing too for good measure.
-Try to fill my MP3 player with as much music as I can fit on it (altho it means plugging my external HD into a roomie's machine since my lappy is still in quarantine until i can get it looked at)
-Take out $$ from savings account and pray my family listened to my request to just give me cash this year instead of stuff.
-Buy food for Luggy to last him the weekend and give Josh and Lynn feeding instructions.

So this time it's a complete and total user error. I was trying to download OC1, got some spyware instead and tried to delete it. Shut down the comp to go to work, come back and it's refusing to boot up.

Call my local tech support guy, he can't make it over, said to call him when i get out of work sat (today) and he'll take a look.

Call my second tech support guy, we do a system restore it seems to work for a while, then i get messages about spyware and IE needing a 'critical update'. I don't use IE, i ask techy guy about it he's like "OH SHIT ON A CRACKER YOU FUCKED IT UP".

So i shut it down last night, it's not booting up past the "Windows Recovery" screen and so I'm still going to call the local guy tonight, see if he can salvage the software. If he can't, second tech support guy will see what he can do. Worst case, i'll have to call Gateway and get a recovery disc.

This is the 3rd computer to die in my hands since I moved into this new apartment.

My dear friend, Nick Francis, is dying of Cystic Fibrosis. He's 26 years old and has been going downhill swiftly over the last year. On Wednesday we were told that he has irreversible skin breakdown (essentially his cells are liquefying and he's decomposing while still alive.) and that if the CF doesn't kill him, the skin breakdown will. He's chosen to fight this and not take the 'easy way' out, even though it means a slow lingering death that could last for weeks if not months. He could go at any time, and many of us feel he will not live to see Halloween. His Health Proxy is my best friend, Amanda, and she's been by his side every day for months, even since he was admitted into the hospital this last time. She's standing by his decision to fight and she needs all the prayers for strength she can get. They both need strength and courage for this, and any and all prayers and good energy anyone can send them

Please, we're all praying for Nick to have an easy passing. I don't know if he fears death or not. But he IS a Wolf, and will not go quietly; but kicking and clwing to life the way he came into it.

I'm literally stalking my front door, trying to play Okami for a few hours, waiting for FedEx to arrive with my new laptop. Oh and mooching the use of my houseguest's lappie she left unguarded. <_<

Gods willing, I'll have a working machine in my possession by about 10:30am. Checking the tracking, it arrived in CT about half an hour ago, and it's on it's way. Hell, it might even be here by 10! *crosses fingers it comes to the right apartment and there's nothing wrong in the address or truck or transit*

OMFG WHY CAN'T THINGS EVER BE SIMPLE???!!!!

I"m so enraged and frustrated and pissed off i can't hardly see straight. Got the new powersupply installed by a friend while i was at work. came home, anxious to get back in business, get the whole assembly plugged in and up and turn it all on... power's on but no signal tot eh monitor. monitor works, just.... no fucking signal.

Called the ex in tech support who said it could be either of 2 things; one very very bad, the other not so bad. 1) Jake could have not installed things right and left a plug out. call him tmw and have him check things over. OR 2) ...a Motherboard issue.

Needless to say I'm praying to everything holy and otherwise that it's something Jake can fix tmw...

I'm getting desperate for a working machine here. this is just re-fucking-donkulous. I have another month, exactly, before my birthday arrives and i see just how much my family decided to listen to me and only give me cash for a new PC. I'm also blatantly accepting commissions and donations. Something, anything... gods, even if you have a spare POS laptop or tower or even pieces of something to donate. I've lost all pride in this matter and am now outright begging for help.
