I let my dog out to pee, cause we have a large acreage, and I generally just let them run around for 30 minutes, checking on them every 10.

First 10 minutes, they're pretty much lounging in the yard and peeing on various things.

Second 10 minutes, they're in the back yard wrestling.

Third 10 minutes, I only see one dog, so I go call them in. The one comes in quickly, but the other takes forever and never shows up, so finally, I get in my car to drive around and try to find her.

Come home 15 minutes later, and she's just sitting in front of the front door like 'sup'.

The vet who is keeping Tascha's bird keeps raising the price. A lot of people have been giving them angry phone calls, and they're using this as an excuse raise the charge from $600 to $1000.

As soon as Tascha has the bird in her custody, she will be contacting a lawyer.

OK! The breeder just got in touch with Tascha to inform her that only a few hours after asking for donations, they nearly have the amount required! So Tascha has asked me take down this donation request as she doesn't want more than they need. Please disregard the rest of this journal.

Tascha, my good friend from Germany, used to live in the US and, in fact, has dual citizenship. While she was in the US a few years ago, she purchased a white eyed conure from a registered breeder. Upon arriving in Denver, Colorado last week, she was told by customs that her bird needed to be tested for bird flu and newcastle's, a fact about which the airport in Germany had failed to inform her.

They attempted to get her permission to destroy the bird then and there, but instead they agreed to take the bird to a veterinary clinic and perform the tests for a fee she would later have to pay as she did have all other required paperwork and as the bird's leg tag was a registered US tag.

She has now been informed by the veterinarian that if she does not provide them with $600.00 for the cost of the tests, they will put the bird to sleep in one week from today, Tuesday, December 7th.

The bird has been given a clean bill of health by the veterinarian, and it was legally purchased in the United States from a registered and licensed breeder.

The original breeder of the bird is also running a fundraiser. You can donate directly to Linda Capriotti at the link above if you do not wish to purchase a picture.

Tascha has just gotten engaged, and this is a terrible way for her to have to start the holiday season AND her new engagement! Please help make her arrival in the US a little easier!

My dad threw a remote control at my head tonight while I was on my lunch break (I work from home).

Couldn't stop crying during calls to clients, so I finally gave up and asked to go home early.

Told mom it's him or me - if he doesn't get into therapy and on medication, the whole family's cut off for good.

Finally told her that my brother used to sexually abuse me when she wasn't home and Dad knew it was going on and didn't stop it.

God, am I still this stupid after living with these people for 26 years?

The only reason I'm here at this point is that I can't find roommates, and I can't afford my own place. I can't even remotely afford my own place. I make $9/hour before taxes and I have over $500/mo in bills and student loans.

Pulled out of my slump and was going to try to do some digital art - I've been filling up a sketch book slowly for the past few weeks.

I plugged in my bamboo and, lo and behold, it's finally up and died. So I've just put an order for a replacement on Amazon (having a steady job with a decent salary is NICE for these situations).

Digital art to come soon. I'm also debating on buying a scanner so I can share my traditional stuff with you guys, assuming it stops sucking so hard :)
