Yall might have noticed that uhhhh I have been SCARCE for a long while. Lots of stuff happened, tl;dr is that I am finally in a stable place again with access to my full setup, so I will be able to be more active going forward.

I will be tidying up my commissions information soon, as well as finalizing some of my Patreon stuff so that'll be ready for me to share more readily. I may also take all NSFW material off of this particular account and start a side account for showcasing NSFW content, purely so that I can have things clean and separate. Y'know, general housekeeping stuff.

Ok, so something about me: drawing challenges are notoriously difficult for me. Especially as the more regimented the task (like, for example, draw something every day) the more likely life or health will get in the way in some form or another. It's a pain in the ass!!! And once I hit a certain backlog, I get more and more stressed, until I essentially just.... either go nuclear and break down, or I give up.

So, this time, I am going to try something different. I'm going to attempt to stretch my Kinktober challenge out. Instead of trying to finish it in 31 days, I'll just make a valiant effort to, well, finish it in general. When I have time or the inclination, I'll do a couple prompts (all in order) and hopefully, I'll have it done by the end of the year.

Or something.

Deadlines are the enemy of a perfectionist. So, maybe, without a deadline, I will do much better with it? I guess? Who knows. Almost 25 years old, you'd think I'd have some idea of what the fuck I'm doing, but I guess not.

Ok, so! Haven't been too active lately, trying to get back into the swing of things, and... wow. I really, really need to so some sorting and cleaning of my gallery, huh? I'll start on that once I'm done with this project, another dang reference sheet for Chess. I think I've finally gotten the hang of drawing him, haha!

Anywhomst, updates on life and junk, I'm further along with my medical transition, which is baller. Part of why I haven't been too active is that, in addition to an absolutely bonkers busy summer at work, I've been recovering from top surgery! That's right, my Real Life Chest now matches Chess's chest, it's awesome, and I couldn't be happier.

Commissions, as usual, are always available; I'll be restructuring pricing and doing sales and deals on my favorite type of commissions here and there as well, if anyone's ever interested in ref sheets!

Or, I will be soon! Just picked up my prescriptions, now I'm waiting for the needles (the pharmacy doesn't have them in stock) and the go-ahead for my bloodwork coming back, and then! MAN JUICE TIME!

I'm finally undertaking a project I've been inspired to do for a few years now, which is, drawing up the seven species of "demon" from the world of my treehopper persona. To be honest, I was lacking inspiration for it, until I realized that each species could be easily assigned one of the Seven Deadly Sins from classical mythology.

I have a sprawling world thought up involving it, with the help of my wonderful fiance, and I feel like if I can't figure out how to start on a big big project like my webcomic, I should at least make an effort to start on a small project, like a fantasy novel.

Keeping it reasonable, right? Hahaha.....

When finished I will make a lineup of the different demons, and then probably make guidelines for creating a character within each species? If anyone's interested in that? Everyone likes demons, right?

I'm back. I'm bad at not drawing + sharing art.

In the interim I drew some Honestuck art (visible on my tumblr, where i am under the same username) and several studies (which are not anywhere but my desk) and now I've come up with a new fursona.

His name is Chess, he's some kind of Lucario-Axolotl-Cat hybrid and he purble. Ugly boy. My favorite.

Digital art, that is. I don't know for how long. But it was pointed out to me on tumblr that my art isn't very technically sound, that my characters don't look very "good," that some of my black characters specifically look like they're racist caricatures. The only way I know to improve (something that I also had pointed out that I don't do) is to start over from scratch and teach myself the basics and totally scrap what I know right now. It's going to be really hard and I'm not looking forward to it.

But, it has to be done, so I'm going to do it.

Digital art will still appear here and there on my tumblr (twigwise.tumblr.com) but I'll be taking a break from FA for a while because of lack of confidence with my art. Sorry 'bout that.

Update first:
I have a new hard drive now, and am working on rebuilding my portfolio of Best in Me comic work. It's daunting, but it gives me impetus to get back to work on it.

And for something else:
I'm completely without money for the next week or so. I switched banks and as a result my funds are in limbo until the 15th. Thankfully, I don't need much, but unfortunately, I do need enough for a meal or two until then. So a month ago I made a call for help on here ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24291762/ ) and did get some advice, but ultimately, ended up taking my nonfunctional hard drive to a local computer store. They assured me it was an easy fix and that I'd be able to have my hard drive back by the next day.

Long story short, yesterday I was called and given condolences, because my hard drive was entirely fried. It's something that happens sometimes, especially with drives in casings that get a lot of use. I could get the data recovered, but it's not a for sure thing and I don't have the money to shell out to get the drive even looked at by a decryption service- that's how fried it is.

I told them to recycle it.

It hurts, but I can't dwell on it. I'm going to get a solid state drive (if I can afford one) and start from scratch. I lost all my comic work, I lost all my commissions, I lost everything. But there's only "forward" to go from here. So "forward" I'll go.

I'm really in the mood to just post stuff with axolotls, or my fursona, Nugget the axolotl. I did get a real live axolotl recently- named Dragon- so I may post pictures of him, as well.

I've mainly been in the mood to play Skyrim recently, which has really put a damper on my creative ability. Oops.

Really on a Transformers kick right now. So, sorry, I'm not doing a lot of furry art at the moment. I was really Feeling It™ a couple weeks ago, but I've fallen back into my oldest and dearest fandom. So that's a thing.

Ever been in a mood where you just want to draw yourself? That's what I've felt like the past few weeks. So, sorry about all the fursona art.

I am not fond of ageplay/diaperplay/abdl/etc.

I have seen too many people that fetishize the innocence and youth of children- too many people that think children are sexual, that their purity and youth is something they can consume and play with. I know too many people who have been hurt by pedophiles and people over 21 that sexualize underage- not "below the age of consent" underage, I mean "under 18" underage- people. I'm one of them.

But making as innocuous a statement as "ageplay/diaperplay/abdl/etc make me uncomfortable and reek of pedophilia to me" can, and will, get one attacked (or at least chided) for their opinion.

I do not trust people that sexualize underage people. I do not trust people that fetishize being a child or the paraphernalia children play with or use, such as children's toys, or diapers. I have seen too many people do so for sexual reasons. I have been hurt and abused by too many people thinking my youth and innocence were literally sexy. It all counts as pedophilia to me.

So, I suppose, it's controversial to exist as a survivor of Child Sexual Assault and seeing the flags and evidence of it.

Got an anonymous submission a couple weeks ago that basically told me that I suck at anthro art and am mediocre and should try and reach my real potential.

I've been feeling paranoid about it for the duration since. It's really painful being told, even by someone trying to be polite as the anon was, that your art isn't as good as you think it is. It's hard and destroys your self confidence.

But I've been trying to refine my shaky style of drawing furries since then. I think I've got a method of drawing faces- specifically muzzles, my weak point- that is the perfect blend of toony and identifiable. I hope. So I'll be practicing on and off when I'm off work, these next couple weeks. I don't have a lot of time off coming up, but it's better than nothing!

Speaking of, I really don't have a lot of time these next few weeks, so if I don't immediately respond to something you ask me or say, I really apologise. I'm trying, but I'm just wiped out and inattentive because of my day job. But! it's money, so I can't complain.

So I found out that some people I used to consider friends- my best of friends- are on this site. It makes me sad, because I want to tell them how proud I am that their art has taken off, but they explicitly said they want nothing to do with me.... so..... I'll respect that. It was a bad breakup of friendships. I got really hurt, but I still want to have them in my life. Not anymore, I guess! Haha.

There's one in specific I mean, her name is "2-ee." You should check out her art, it's really good, especially if you like thick, dynamic lines, and object heads.
