My art isn't really going anywhere and I don't have any friends in this fandom.

Posted 13 years agoHave fun to everyone who is going. Work doesn't think I'm good enough to deserve a day off so I'm not going. Instead I'm going to turn the tables and take advantage of the overtime I could get on Thanksgiving (so that'll be time and a half times 2 haha). With my luck I wont be able to go to Kollisioncon the following week. Oh well, I'll just stand by and try to enjoy working every day until the 29th.
My best friend will have a table in the Artist Alley. Shes mostly selling her stuff but I do believe shes bringing a few of our collab things to show off. Have a look and hit us up for a commission.

Apparently some pathetic soul had nothing else better to do with their night other than to send hate texts. Quite obviously whoever did it needs to get the fuck over whatever problems they have and move on with their shit life.
I'm sure this person knows her or knew her at some point in their life. Probably just borrowed a phone from some dumb shit they were hanging out with that night. I dont feel like any random furfag would just up and start harassing someone over text (over PM or whatever maybe).
I wouldn't be taking this so personally if I wasn't sure it was someone we know.

We are not well versed in backgrounds, I can do some simple backgrounds. Otherwise it'll be just plain colors. Backgrounds will -for now- be free of charge.

Payments must be given to us sometime before the coloring starts. If you choose to pay after recieving the sketch and lineart you will be shown a heavily watermarked, .JPEG version of your piece. After payment is recieved and you approve the sketch and lineart the work will be colored and you will then recieve the final copy.
Payment will be sent via paypal to nekofantasy88@gmail.com. We are paypal only, sorry <3
All pics are done digitally using Photoshop and PaintTool Sai.

Posted 14 years agoI'M BORED AND I'VE DECIDED ITS CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE END OF THE YEAR TO DO THIS.
1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Hm. Nothing really.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Once again I wanted to lose weight. Which I didn't get around to doing till September. I've lost over 10 pounds now!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
I seem to repeat myself every year with this. My cousin gave birth to her first child - a baby boy named Drew!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope. I was fairly distraught at the death of Steve Jobs though.
5. What countries did you visit?
HA. HA. HA. (seriously this question is hilarious)
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
JOB.
7. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Seriously. Nothing life altering happened this year.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I was quite proud of myself when I discovered that asexuality is a legit sexuality, it feels nice to have figured a part of myself out. Oh and I cannot deny that I am pretty proud of being employee of the month for a company I hate. I owe that little achievement to those that trained me - thanks AMC.
9. What was your biggest failure?
JOB.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope! Aside from allergies, asthma, and giving myself a neat scar from slamming my leg on a moving truck.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My PS3! I was so delighted to have discovered 2 really great game franchises (inFamous and Uncharted <3).
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Idk about celebration but I'm extremely greatful for 2 really awesome friends. One, my BFF of 10 years and another who is like a brother to me. You guys know who you are <3<3<3

Asexual Awareness Week
Posted 14 years agoOctober 23rd marks the start of Asexual Awareness Week! The point is to spread awareness and visibility to the masses. Many typically don't know that this sexuality exists, only about 1% of people identify as asexual, so I'm definitely in the minority!
There isn't even one "type" of Ace (short for asexual). Some are demisexual (meaning they only feel sexual attraction for the ones they love/are partners with), some are gray-a's (they occasionally feel some sort of sexual attraction), and a lot are just plain not attracted to anyone! There are also a few that identify as hetero/bi/homo/pan-romantic, these people are only romantically attracted to others but have little to no desire to have sex with them, the emotional connection is enough!
Then theres me. I identify fully as an asexual and definitely gravitate toward aromantic - I do not experience sexual attraction and I have no interest in being in any sort of romantic relationship. I love my family and I love my friends, thats the only love I need! Sometimes I'm plenty happy with this lifestyle and its sometimes a bit of a downer. It can sometimes suck to know I'll eventually be the only "single" person of the group. No one likes being third wheel, try that for life. But...sometimes its nice...just a little bit less drama in my life. My friends, family and coworkers gimme enough of that xP
I also do still think men are attractive. Kinda complicated since most the guys I am attracted to are completely fictional (this actually seems to be a common occurance amongst us Aces XD) but I usually fall for these guys after becoming more aquainted with their character/personality. Kinda strange but I'm totally a 14 year old fangirl at heart. There have been some IRL guys I've been attracted to but I had no desire to act on that attraction.

Posted 14 years agoMy BFF, and I will have added badges to our list of things to commission. We are working on getting some examples done of what our collaborative efforts would look like. In the mean time, feel free browse each of our galleries for examples of each of our own pieces.
She will be doing the drawing and inking, and I'll be the shader/colorer. Also - she will be in charge of taking the actual commission so see her for what you want done, and payments will be sent her way. I'll be in charge of physical work like laminating/shipping etc.

Posted 14 years agoGot home yesterday from some MUCH NEEDED time away from everything. It was awesome, almost perfect. Theres no other con I've been to where I feel more at home than ACen. Much as I love Furfest, Ohayocon (though I don't attend anymore), and Wizard World...ACen is just the perfect con. Sure its overcrowded, IRT can be asses sometimes, and it can occasionally be absurdly unorganized...I still love it. All 15,000+ TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND+ attendees feel like a big family to me.
I hated to leave so early on Sunday (I got insanely sick from cramps because being a woman really sucks a lot sometimes and I don't think I've ever been closer to passing out in my whole life). I did not wanna go back to the real world where I hate just about everyone I come in contact with (I think I'm turning into quite the bitter person) and I really don't wanna go back to my shitty job at the shitty theater to work with people who don't even act like the family we were this time last year. Theres a whopping total of 3 people I actually enjoy working with and being around because a 4th has pretty much been terminated over the weekend.
Idk how to fix this shitty mood I've been in for the last few months and I really don't know why I feel this way to begin with. Theres other people who have it worse than I do but I can't shake this feeling and its getting harder to put on a happy face all the time.
Anyway. End of my early midlife crisis rant. I only went to 3 events, there was really nothing of interest this year for me. But I had fun at all of them. Next year...I swear I'm going to more stuff xD And I havn't a clue what my next cosplay will be. Though I have a year to worry about it.

Looking to Start Commissions

I've been having some money issues lately. Its becoming very difficult to save when a majority of your paycheck goes to gas every week. And keep in mind I only work once a freakin' week at my lousy job.
So I approached my friend about doing collab commissions. I'm not sure I'm a strong enough artist to sell quality stuff on my own (cept maybe headshot badges), so I've enlisted her to do the sketch and lineart and I'll pick it up to do the color and shade work.
We'll probably be waiting until she finishes up the last of her free requests and I'm thinking we'll only take on around 5 requests at a time. I do not wanna be the artist that gets behind on their shit and starts making up excuses as to why things havn't been done.
Also as of now, I'm not sure we'll be doing complex backgrounds. We'd probably only be able to do simple random colors. I may eventually take on backgrounds that consist of simple skies (day or night), hills, and various nature-y things.
So far, right now, the prices will be as follows:
Full body = $15
Bust = $10
Headshot - $5
We're thining $2 for each additional character. And I think I'd like to add that, if you get a headshot, for maybe $3 extra I'll make it into a badge and have it mailed to you.

Well guess what. Its mid-freakin'-April and nothing. I was pretty stoked about wearing this suit around a bit at Anime Central next month (yes, I know its an anime con but I don't care). I'm pissed because on top of a let down, I feel pretty bad for my friends who pitched in for it. Japan is fucking on fire, underwater, and broken in half. Hundreds of people died in the earthquake/tsunami and people only give a shit about their fucking imported cartoons.
I love anime/video games, don't get me wrong. But thats not the reason I'm freaking upset and shocked by what Japan has just gone through. I felt the same amount of sympathy for New Zealand 2 weeks ago with their earthquake and last year for Chile and Haiti. Its because people are dying and losing everything they own, not because of the shit these countries have.

Posted 14 years agoI'm willing to bet I just scared the shit out of half of you. Don't worry, I didn't experiment with and figure out I was a les XD Its not even a big deal really. I'm just happy I have myself figured out and wanted to share...since I never do cause I enjoy being private.
So I've been questioning my life for the past month or so. What my goals are and where I see myself in the next 5 or 10 years. A lot of people are getting into relationships and stuff, which is nice and all. People ask me if I'm ever going to get a boyfriend or whatevs and I just say no. I usually just reply with a "not now but maybe if one comes along...". I've been thinking hard about this now and I've pretty much come to the realization that I don't really WANT a boyfriend, at all. I tell all I want in life is to have a stable job, a few dogs, and a nice apartment/condo. I've been told thats really sad and that I'll be lonely and whatever. I honestly don't see an issue with it. I have no issue at all with never being in a relationship and, most definitely, never having sex.
Basically I've figured out that I'm an asexual, maybe even aromantic (aka, I don't want to have a romantic relationship of any kind). I had just been browsing FA and the internet and came across a description of different sexualities. Asexual, not being attracted in males or females. I thought that fit me pretty well. I've definitely been interested in a few guys before, mostly after getting to know them and becoming good friends with them. I never really saw myself going anywhere with it. And lord knows I love my male celebrities out in Hollywood. This all made me wonder if I could really be described as an asexual.
Then I discovered the FA group (if you hadn't noticed on my profile). I found links to a livejournal community and an informative website. I found out theres a lot of people that feel the way I do. To have little crushes on fictional characters and celebrities is all just fantasy, not reality. Most asexuals have their own definition of the term.
I'd honestly be surprised if this came as a shock to anyone. Lately, I've been making it clear that I don't want a relationship...I just couldn't really provide a solid reason as to why. I'm quite pleased I figured it out.

10 years ago...2001....was a really good year. A lot of good shit happened to me. I met my BFF sometime in August/September 2001. I got my dog, Skooter, in 2001. I joined Neopets and created my first OC, Twister in 2001.
It'll be the 10th anniversary for all that. Perhaps I'll actually get my career going this year and I wont be as emotionally fucked up or pissed off 24/7.

Decided on a career. Kinda.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Sorta. I lost 5 pounds this summer!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My cousin gave birth to an adorable little boy. Baby Connor <3
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope. Not this year.
5. What countries did you visit?
Pft.
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
A better job. A place that isn't about backstabbing your friends and coworkers just to get a promotion and where managers actually recognize hard work instead of who can suggest the most RCC cards.
7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
June 25. My life was completely turned upside down.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Nothing.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not finding a new job.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I think I may have a mild case of depression.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I guess season 1 of Quantum Leap. Seriously the best thing to happen to me all year.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
A certain amazing manager of mine. No joke.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Quite a few people at work. It amazes me the kinds of lazy ass people they chose to promote. The poor decisions some of the management has made is astouding. I could go on.
14. Where did most of your money go?
DVDs from Disc Replay.

Nothing really. ACen I guess.

a) happier or sadder?
I was happier last year. A lot happier. And thats sad considering I had just lost a coworker a few weeks prior to taking this survey last year.
b) thinner or fatter? A bit thinner I guess.
c) richer or poorer? Poorer because my hours keep getting cut for no reason.

I met no one new that has had any real lasting impression on me. I've been getting pretty tight with 3 of my coworkers that I've known for 3 years now. Nothing says bonding like staying 3 hours past your shift complaining about your day.
