Halloween was so much fun
Posted 12 years ago1. Are you going out for halloween?
Porch only
2. Who will you be with?
Myself
3. Are you going "trick or treating"?
No, passing out candy. Kids going in the rain with Jodi.
4. Are you dressing up for halloween? If yes, what as?
My true rabbit form, Twitchers the Bunny
5. Did you carve a pumpkin?
Ran out of time. Kids did though.
6. Did you decorate your yard?
No, again kids did. The torches added nice ambiance.
7. What costume(s) do you hope to see this Halloween?
I saw a hotdog who came back to see my fursuit, bringing a quartet who sang trick-or-treat to me.
8. What's your favorite candy?
Anything orange. Chocolates good too.
9. Describe Halloween with ONE word
Fun!
So much fun! I love an excuse to wear the fursuit. The youngest kids were the cutest, they're like "giant plushie is talking to me!" Jodi had me hand out the mega-deluxe pixie-sticks everyone loves those. And I got to dress up for the Grey Wolfe meet, all the writers got to see their illustrator is a bunneh.

FCN is gone. I'm crushed. :(
Posted 12 years agoFCN is gone. This convention was right next to my house. It was a breakthrough.
I made so many friends.
Now I don't know if I'll ever see them again. I'm crushed. :(
Once a year I could see my friends, not have to justify or explain the rabbit thing.
I had plans for another panel (on writing and animal thought)
I had music I wanted to play.
I was going to show up and surprise everyone about the small-time kids books I was illustrating for http://greywolfepublishing.wordpress.com .
Just to run around in the halls dresses up with the friends I've made there.
Now what am I going to do!?!?

Was watching Cat from Outer Space
Posted 12 years agoCat from Outer Space was a childhood favorite of mine. I usually don't go for that style of film but Jodi got it and her mom Cora and Lola and I watched it and, aside from the gambling side-plot, it was as good as I remember. Cora kept asking who the main actress was, we look it up (it was Sandy Duncan) and she's like "Oh the gal with the show with Tom Bosley" and I'm like "Oh, Vixey from Fox and the Hound" My, I should bring six degrees of bunny back.
Not gonna make it to AC
Posted 12 years agoAugh! I'm not gonna make it to Anthrocon this year and I especially wanted to go this year cause, well everyone's going, and I hear they're having writer Tom Minton there.
Wah! I miss everyone!!!!

Creativity Time
Posted 12 years agoSo on top of writing with some suggestions from
PoofyKnave, I have been busy with EVEN MORE STUFF.
I have recorded a karaoke "He's Got Eggs" in hopes to make an Easter vid, prob for next Easter considering how long it takes me to get around to things.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10609339
It won't be on par with stuff like the awesome vid I just saw
FlowKitty in but it's a start.
Been dabbling in vitamin chemistry http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10609213
Finally, Jodi has gotten me lots of new stuff, which goes to show how much more she accepts me the way I am, including this flower bed that, alas, has us in trouble with the association. I still like it though http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10609308

Still Bunny after all these Years
Posted 12 years agoAh to be a bunny. Just spent some time unwinding.
Took a walk to visit the wild bunnies that seem to like sitting near me. I didn't realize there were two; perhaps a couple. Ah Faunus.
It's nice to see some real Spring weather here in Michigan. The reality sunlight gives to things is revitalizing. I let myself inhale some of the vitality around me, and exhale some of the stress from weeks previous.
Get back home, I have some homemade incense going, a mix of sarcostemma, agave, passionflower and guaiac, lotus, and today, reishi. I take a deep inhale, and so does my rottweiler who then sneezes and a gives me a look of "what is it with you humans?"
"I can't figure humans out either" I say back. She seems content with that.
I wander the net a while and find a Mad TV sketch, the "Adjustment Burro," of Eeyore meeting Twilight Sparkle. http://youtube.com/watch?v=tGNNHf2OGxs
It takes me back, when Moonhare would write the most brilliant hilarious spoofs of Winnie the Pooh.
I've taken a step back and tried to resurrect an old Artificial Intelligence program of mine to see if it could understand basic plot-line. Thoughts, Memes, Concepts themselves are not how we describe them, words are not more words, I swear they must be this fuzzy logic version of visualizations; very preposition-based or something. Something keeps human knowledge from becoming too esoteric/Socratic/quixotic on a regular basis.
Existence isn't just stuff. Life is story. And it all comes back to causality. Causal Itty.
I think about my life story. Adopted at just the right time to never know my biological parents. My adoptive parent's bizarre and harsh philosophy, bringing me up like in that School for Tots from Simpson's, telling me I'd be a bad parent. My dreams of a future self telling me to protect my cat, and o.b.e.'s of a heaven filled with laughing racing borealis-like rabbits. My escape from my parents to Jodi. My life with Jodi, good times, our first dates, Rockie Horror, Fritz. Sitting together on the steps of the Chem building. Looking for the Brown Jug restaurant. Her cat Moxie sitting on any book I tried to read. Going to Fondue together. Collecting Beanie Babies. The seeming resurrection of my pet hamster Itty. The birth of my beautiful children. And then my son Jamie's diagnosis, Autism because of the speech delay, though at three he had started reading and writing. Bad times, and people from Second Life, some of whom claimed to be my friends but tried to break up my family, some ruining the meaning of rp. Sleeping in the car after an argument with Jodi. My cat Spookie going to live at a friends. The Stock Market crash, moving away for a year so I could work. My daughter Lola nearly getting hit by a car. Jamie getting in trouble for kicking his teacher. His big turn-around after showing him the Scared Straight video.
And now, some strange resolution. Jodi doesn't see furry as the threat she did from SL times. I have real life furry friends I met at Furry Connection North. Jamie is talking and interacting to the point people often don't notice anything different. He's so smart, I mean brilliant, straight A's, he programs, he plays chess and scrabble like a pro. And he doesn't let his competitiveness get in the way like before. We're so lucky.
And Lola. My personality clone, to the point of being too dramatic and sensitive. She loves animals, has some Fluttershy-like connection to them, in addition to oft pretending to be a cat or a bunny or a baby dragon. Like moonhare, she is my sensei and has taught me much.
It's quiet tonight. I can think clearly, been some time since I could do that. And I just want to meditate and rest in this moment. From birth til now; still bunny after all these years. It's been quite a trip getting here.

If it's not one thing it's another
Posted 12 years agoNo sooner do I feel healthy than I make an ass of myself.
My son, at middle school orientation, blew a kiss to a girl he's interested in, and she obviously isn't or at the very least doesn't know how to react. He totally missed out on the people who actually seemed interested in talking to him. I talked to him about this, then his sister chimes in and we go on about the subtleties of trying to see if someone cares about you, which only hurts his feelings, crying he made me leave his room and said he'd be mad at me for months, and my wife says I'm selfish to try to apologize. This parenting stuff is beyond difficult.
I spent the last hour walking around the block furious with myself. Eventually I found myself sitting down next to a wild rabbit, who hopped off at first but then, I think sensing my desperation, hopped back, and just stared at me. I'm still trying interpret that, still trying to squeeze some kind of advice out of that gaze.

I hate being sick
Posted 12 years agoWell I just got back from the E.R. which is never fun. My head cold became a chest infection triggering my asthma. 3 nebulizer treatments, three 20mg prednisone and two 250mg Azithromycin later and I'm finally starting to feel better.
PS: Dear asthma, F you.

FCN 2013 Parade
Posted 12 years agoFCN was awesome!
Posted 12 years agoWell FCN was really all that!
Was great seeing friends! I didn't get a photo with PoofyKnave and Donaruie so I'm gonna have to wait til photo-shoot pics come out.
Definitely got my mind set on writing more.
Was great being able to spend a decent amount of time there this year.
Charity auction was amazing. (Flow is best runner!) I need to look that place up my son wants another cat.
I think best part was my wife Jodi really seemed OK with it this year. Everyone wants her to come to one of these things like she did first year. Maybe someday.
Right now her mom doesn't want to help watch the kids because we don't want her rottweiler Rico down here after he bit my son last year. I can't believe that fight is still going on. Should have resolved months ago. Ah, Llama Llama family Drama.
Anyway, more pics to come soon.

Can't wait for FCN!
Posted 12 years agoBeen too long.
So what have I been up to?
Family's doin well. Recorded myself fursuiting as an Easter Bunny, egg painting with the family; I plan to do a karaoke/cover of ZZ tops "Legs" but with lyrics "He's got eggs" cause you know, Easter Eggs. I had hoped to have that done before the con but I ran out of time.
We did luminaries for Fool Moon parade in Ann Arbor MI, my wife made me a giant glowing carrot, I thought that was super-sweet.
She also bought me a great Zercora (yay ponies!) I'll have to get a photo of that.
Been absorbed with Ponies, and have been trying to wrap my fuzzy lil head around screenwriting and gamewriting. Many years back I was focus group for Deer Avenger 2 and it gave me the writing bug, and now following the MLP FiM writers on Twitter has made that more so.
I haven't even looked at the FCN schedule yet. Just looking forward to seeing friends Flow, Snickerdoodle, PoofyKnave, Niiku, Donaruie and looking forward to meeting Kommy.
It's gonna be SO AWESOME!

Stray thoughts...
Posted 14 years agoWell I guess everyone (but me) is on their way to Anthrocon.
Ah mighty Kage. Hope everyone has fun.
Meanwhile my brain isn't generating ideas like it normally does.
I've been trying to meditate with less success of late.
It's hard to express your intended exuberance about life when everyone has a different language about such stuff.
Listening to Miike Snow's "Animal" today.
Need to see Winnie the Pooh movie sometime.
My Little Pony has been the latest thing. Moonhare got me hooked; Lola and Jamie are into it, as am I.
Lola says I'm most like Fluttershy, since she's got the rabbit. Speaker to Animals.
I like Pinky Pie too, she's bouncy. I think I like Spike best.
I wish I had more occasion to wear the fursuit. It's been a while; I've thought to work on it a bit more, perhaps straighten the eyes, get a material I could actually see through, but haven't gotten to it.
Anyway more when I get my head together.
