We're going to keep things simple as far as open commisions because I'm enjoying trying some new things on the side. I'll be working on a few YCHs on the side and other things with limited slots later on. I'm going to be keeping things relatively cheap until "all this bullshit" blows over because I still want to make art and you still need to pay bills so

COMMISSIONS
I'm wrapping up roughly one a day. I currently have 9.5 in queue and will not be reopening until I'm down to about 2. Looking at about a week or two at my current pace. Not too shabby if I say so myself. Still getting used to new software and playing with new brushes and settings so it's been challenging but fun. Should start to sped up to regular pace in no time~
LIFE
Not a lot changed other than trying to work on new projects and with new mediums in my spare time. I've gotten a lot accomplished in my spare time that I'm really proud of. Not so much because they're the best things I've ever created but because I set a goal and I did the damn thing, no matter how small. If you're curious or don't follow my IG I made:

On the bad end my bf lost his job 2 days ago so we're in a bit of a rut. Still not rushing through commissions but definitely more motivated to work so I can take on a little more. We have enough to get us by as of our newly drawn out budget we did tonight and he has a few friends asking around. Fingers are crossed on this one but honestly his work environment was extremely toxic so I'm glad it was sooner rather than later; regardless of the circumstances.
HEALTH
I have my next app is tomorrow after work! I had to cancel my CT scan (or reschedle for maybe dec/jan) to help with bills while he's looking for a new gig BUT I think it was kind of a blessing there too BECAUSEEE doc said he was a little iffy on the CT scan so early due to radiation anyway so hoping we can go over a safer alternative first and hopefully one not so expensive. Not as much pain as the last 2 weeks so improvement nonetheless. AND THE BEST PART *drumroll* I quit smoking! Mostly to save money I won't lie lol Free prescription and a tight budget finally made it happen. I'm only on day 2 but I've made up my mind. Not getting any younger and apparently I'm already falling apart so maybe I should quit helping aha send all the good vibes and willpower plz

Wrapping Up Queue + Commissions + Health
Posted 5 years agoI've got 2 more things in my queue that I'll be working on this week. I should have clear slots next week though I'm a little hesitant to take commisions just yet. If I do take any they will be grab bag so I can experiment (which is good for you I guess since they're cheap). Really don't want to, no offense, draw things that I don't want to draw right now lol I don't want to follow instructive details, I want to be creative. Something I rarely feel like I'm doing here so we're going to switch it up if anything. I've been making some adopts in my spare time to destress because coloring is cathartic for me. Speaking on stress and health. Ill try to make this as clean cut as possible. I'm trying very hard to control my stress and reduce it add much add possible. As many of you know I am generally a sickly person though this one takes the cake. I found a large mass in my right side roughly 3 months ago. I've been to about 10 appointments in that time. So far all testing is unable to identify it. While testing they also found a heart valve not functioning correctly, low pulse, and heart palpitations. So today (my latest appointment) I picked up my heart monitor and in 3 days I go for the echocardiogram. Not entirely happy about it because I feel fine heart-wise and would rather have my money spent on the priority, the mass, because these copays are fucking outrageous. But anyway, shit hurts. I imagine when I do open commisions it'll be a bills fund but right now I'm managing. Just sucks is all. I just started back into traditional art again and I'd rather spend it on paint haha
So that's life right now. Being a homebody, workin, and hospital. I'm going to try and be more active with journals.
OH AND I GOT DISCORD! I used it for maybe a month like 2 years ago so I don't have friends on it. I'll have to update this with the little handle incase you want to be pals. Is it the name or the little number thing, idk

Posted 5 years agoI haven't been back on FA in quite a while, and quite a while before that as well. I have a touch and go relationship with the community as I only know one person in it (I'm a lonely artist). I logged back in today to find a commission that had slipped through the cracks before my last departure. That will be handled accordingly BUT it left me with an issue that has remained for a while now.
The entire reason I logged in today was to try and integrate myself with artists and the community for once. I have a pretty big problem with keeping people and the community at arms reach (for personal reasons) then getting depressed that I don't have anyone to talk to or interact with. And not just in life but in art. The past few months I've been trying to deal with both, trying to make more artist friends and have those relationships mean something, making friends with people who follow me so I can interact.
Which brings me to my topic of the day, communication. I may have a couple thousand watchers but ONLY ONE PERSON on this whole damn site knows how to get ahold of me when I'm not on, which is... most of the time. I've had a lot of anxiety over the years about linking order accounts (fb or ig) here because I am not a mainly furry artist and I feel like being a little of this and a little of that kind of casts me out of both groups. I've never had a great deal of acceptance and it always felt easier to just leave. I'm trying to bridge the gap.
So if any of you would like to be apart of my growth or like to just idk chat about art or get ahold of me for a commission or get an update or anything like that (I don't even expect anyone to read this far but thanks if you did lol) I have a personal and art facebook that I am ALWAYS on, and an IG that I check at least a few times a week.

I made rent and I got a job!!
Since getting my jerb I will be not be opening back up for a long time.
Rather I am going to knock out my current queue and start working on pieces that go in a more personal direction for me.
Some of those will have slots put up but that will be about it.
I have had a few big projects in mind that Ive just never been in a great position to start but I feel confident in starting to move forward.
Life is good man
