And 10 days later it has arrived! 1000 views!
Posted 18 years agoI would have never thought it possible that something that came from what little ability I have might be looked upon so favorably by others. I really do not know what to say! I feel saying thanks is just not enough.
I can only hope and pray that as time continues to pass I am allowed to share what small vision I may have. Only a few years ago I would have been the first one to say that poetry was the furthest thing from my mind. Then, as if someone turned up the dimmer switch, I was able to finally see the words within and even more grateful, was allowed to have them come forth in a way others could understand. In reality I feel I must thank all who have passed this way and tell you how pleased I am to have made the slightest difference.
*hugs you all*
Take care,
Tye

900..
Posted 18 years agoA very short 4 months ago I decided to start posting the poems I had written as well the words that were to become new works of art to you and me. I am humbled by the response that has been granted me. During this time I have met some of, if not, the most wonderful individuals I could ever ask to meet. All those entering have graced me with kindness and understanding. I am awed by the fact my words have been accepted well enough to allow now over 900 page views.
I can only hope that any following works will be as well received as those that currently reside within these hallowed halls.
With all due respect, and *hugs*, to you all,
Tye G.

A solemn day!
Posted 18 years agoThree years ago today at 10:27 AM I had to make the decision to take my mother off life support. After making this decision for my father, I was told to go back to my fathers’ house and rest as I had been up for 48 hours straight and it would take time for life to end. My mother was a part of my life that added a strength I shall never again behold. She gave me a calm, which has now all but gone. About 5 hours later I was wakened by a phone call to tell me my mother was slipping away and did I want to say anything to her on the phone. This I could not do! I got dressed as fast as I could and started back to the hospital. When I was about 5 minutes away, and this was something I could not believe, it started raining. The weird thing was that the sun was out and it was only raining around me, moved with me and only lasted maybe 20 seconds. I was driving my mothers car at the time and in that moment I knew I would not make it in time to see her alive and then there was that calm in me my mother always gave. I slowed down, got to the hospital and made it to her room as they were taking her off the monitors. I walked to her and as I would do in life, I kissed her on the forehead and because no one had done it, I closed her eyes.
“Be well my dearest mother. Know you will live within me forever. Thanks most of all for being you!
Your loving son!”
Thanks for listening!

Readings of Poetry!
Posted 18 years agoI have had a number of Private Messages asking if I might do additional readings of my poems. I guess what I am asking at this time is how many would like to see/hear this type of medium used (I already know from those who contacted me) and which poems you might like to have read?
Thanks for your time!
Take care,
Tye

Posted 18 years agoOk....
My first journal entry!
However I have to ask those reading... What has made the poem "Julia" so popular?
One of those things a writer needs to know. As always I encourage comments and criticisms.
