...I just found out that I have no freaking clue what I'm doing when it comes to digital coloring/painting. I'd love to learn a more painterly style like  Kamui or  FaberCastel ...though obviously I wouldn't be that good at it right off the bat. I need more technical advice than "teach me how to color!" type stuff: brushes, brush settings, layer styles, general tips and tricks, that kind of thing...I have no clue, and no decent resources.

...our dog. She was more my parents' dog than mine, and to tell you the truth I didn't like her a lot. She pooped and peed where she shouldn't have, which made late night excursions in your socks hazardous. She was fat because...well, she lived like my parents and they gave her everything she wanted. But she wasn't by any means a bad dog.

There, Universe, the third death in my family this year...YOU CAN STOP NOW.

Another close family member, my grandfather on my father's side, passed away. That's two major deaths in my family in less than a two month span.

It will sound mean, but I believe I will miss my grandfather more than my grandmother...mostly because I was closer with him later in our lives than I was with my grandmother.

He was a Korean War vet, was a radio operator in the 25th Infantry Division, and it was my honor to catalog his stay in the army in a massive scrap book well before he passed. He bragged so much about that thing. I was prevented with an American flag at his memorial service. God, I'm so glad I was able to steel my self through that. No one would have been able to blame me if I broke down at that moment...but...I felt good afterward.

Okay...I'm a novice...I don't know an ohm from a hole in the wall.

I am trying to wire a laser diode and a small motor on the same circuit. Normally a 3 volt AA battery pack would do, but this thing is going to be running for a long time so it needs to be run off of wall current. The problem is, despite having a regular wallwort style AC adapter that is rated for an output of 3 volts DC, it's giving me a pretty steady measurement of 4.5 volts according to the ol. volt meter. That's a little much for both the motor and the laser diode. I need to bump it down closer to 3 volts...how can I accomplish this?

The first reaction would be "Resistors!" but I know nothing about those little guys.

Come on...there have got to be some hobby electricians out there!

We had an old mattress...but no way to haul it...so I challenged myself to break it down into pieces small enough to fit inside a 18"x18"x24" cardboard box...

It took an x-acto knife, a bolt cutter and three days...but I have done it...I have killed the mattress.

So, my grandmother died tonight around 2am. I'd be lying if I were to say that is wasn't a relief. Her suffering has ended and her passing has brought peace to not only herself but the rest of the household. I will miss her, but I am happy for her. She has been ready for this, and so have the rest of us. She went in her sleep and she seemed very comfortable in her final moments.

I love you, Grandma.

...I think my grandmother is dying. We're just waiting now. Not that I'm around all that much to begin with, but I might just disappear all together for a little while...not sure yet.

I went to Walmart at 2:30 in the morning and bought toys and candy because it was raining and I was bored in the house.

I have so much crap that needs to get done...I need to build a new bed, I need to rearrange all of my crap...plus all of this new crap! I need to put together a new computer desk!

so I'm listening to Pandora while doodling and I have a Death Metal station and a "Nightwish" station playing one after the other on the quick mix function and it's really weird because on one it's all "THE WORLD IS ENDING AND YOU ARE GOING TO DIE AND GO TO HELL!!!" and the other one is all like "I AM THE KING OF THE ELVES AND I HAVE COME TO SAVE YOU!!"

It is after Thanksgiving...and the Sam pumpkin that I carved two days before Halloween has not yet rotted...unlike its 29 pumpkin brothers...

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes, guys, it's sweet. I wish I had the energy now to thank you all individually, but I've been out all day and I'm soooo tired.

I think by now my reputation is shot, or at least I feel like it should be due to my performance as an artist for the last few...years?

Anywho...here's the gist: Art is just not fun for me anymore. I find myself not wanting to draw, seeing it as a chore more than a craft or a hobby.

As of the completion of the three commissions listed on my front pages I will be taking no more commissions until further notice. I might take a few in the future, but not until I get my confidence and my general feeling of...well...like for the art again.

I need to get some of the ideas in my own head down on a canvas for a while.

So yeah, there you go.

Oh, and as for my old and outstanding commissions; with the exception of a few,I will be reimbursing you as I can, but I just can't do anything with the shadows of past unfinished drawings over my head and holding me down. I just can't.

Sorry guys, but here's to a brighter and more productive future. Maybe one day I'll feel like such a disappointment to a lot of people.
