(Update) I draw mecha this happens..
Posted 6 years agoI think this is an appropriate analogy?
I'm using low quality materials to sketch with at the moment and damn it I keep tearing through the paper if the area has been erased and redrawn a few times before. Long story short it gonna be a bit.

Started randomly drawing mecha.
Posted 6 years agoLately my sketching has taken a route back to a subject I used to draw nigh on obsessively in my late middle school and throughout my entire high school years; mechs and mecha. The mechs were Battlemechs from the technical readout books for the Battletech tabletop game and the mecha were the various Mobile Suits from the UC Gundam timeline. Zeon mobile suits in particular such as the Zaku II F2, Dom Tropen, Rick Dom II, and Gelgoog Marine model of mobile suits. Really love the look of the Rick Dom II and Gelgoog Marine in particular. Will try to get something I deem passable enough to show in my gallery, but in the meantime enjoy the following!

Sorting the madness.
Posted 6 years agoMy intentions are to resume my art and story creation, but there's going to be some changes coming to be sure. When I first started really letting my ideas pour out I was reaching for the stars. It seemed like I could in some way have it all so long as I could quickly and easily hammer out the details. Stupid, lazy, and ponderous looking back now. I wasn't reaching for the stars I fell into the Sun. Or flew too close. A burn out was inevitable going at this whole endeavor in so reckless a manner. The ideas have frankly stacked too high and are starting to heap. Some sorting is needed. What isn't working needs to be set aside. Time to do some streamlining. Spring cleaning.

Farewell to Notre Dame
Posted 6 years agoI want to start by saying that not all the facts are known yet about what happened Monday. What started the fire, how it built up so quick, why it took so long for the fire department to arrive are some of the questions I keep looking for answers too. If anyone can share any links or translate any news coverage that might answer these questions that would be most appreciated.
Notre Dame cathedral took over a hundred years to fully complete. Building began in 1163 and finished in 1345. Now there's something I learned about many churches and cathedrals in Europe that were built during the medieval period was that often they were built by the people living in the same area. So with that in mind realize then that it is very likely that several generations from the same families, living in the same area, all grew up building this cathedral together. These churches and cathedrals are a testament to their community organization if nothing else.
Notre Dame was not just an architectural achievement, and it most certainly would be even in this age. This was an achievement for each and every individual who took part in the endeavor to see it's completion. An achievement for not just their own age but for future generations.
Yes the basic structure has been saved, but it's collection of fine artwork is mostly now lost. Holy relics and artifacts kept and maintained for centuries now damaged or destroyed. A treasure trove of amazing cultural and historical achievements, over 500 years worth all of which survived the 30 Years War, the French Revolution, and two World Wars is now gone. Forever.
Jumping to conclusions is a habit I dropped years ago, and I could be wrong, but there is a lot about this incident that makes me suspect it was arson not an accident. Construction work within the EU, France in particular, is heavily regulated and well monitored by safety inspectors. Additionally for working on a building like the Notre Dame cathedral they would not just pick any old construction company to do the job, they would look for the best out there to do it. If it was an accident, which again it still could have been, then this was at the least criminally negligent to have caused this to happen.
History should be remembered. Deserves it. The good and the bad. Not removed, replaced, or rewritten unless it can be proven false by evidence. Something that does happen time to time, because eventually the truth will come out. Time tells all.
Take care and God bless.

I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take this anymore
Posted 9 years agoThis is from the 1976 movie "Network". I've been wanting to post this scene, and a few others, for awhile now because well the title says it all and this scene in particular really showcases my feelings on a lot of what's been going on lately. I dunno if this means now I'm going to start posting my actual thoughts on current and past-recent events. I've been breaking out of the 'bad thoughts' echo-chamber a lot lately, and I intend to keep doing so. Don't know where it'll take me, but for now being mad as hell is giving me the extra drive to keep going. Oh boy does this mean woofles is gonna get all political and such?
Philosophical certainly, political....eh, maybe.
Sorry no comedic vid this time around, tune in next journal post for your regularly scheduled programming!
Oh but you should watch this movie. Like now. Stop whatever your'e doing, put down the pokemon, finish rubbing one out, and go watch this movie.
