Been a while
Posted 3 weeks agoWow...
7 years since I last posted a journal. I was just thinking that I'm not the type to make posts about every little thing, but dang. I mean... What do I even talk about? Turned 29 yesterday. Sold most of my CSGO/CS2 skins, so I've finally got a little pocket money to get some new commissions. Hyped for Metroid Prime 4.
Sorry, I really don't understand how to go about stuff like this. I've always just kept my thoughts to myself except with close friends, so sending them into the void of the internet is totally alien to me. I welcome advice, because I'd like to sorta grow out of this shell a bit.
Anyway, thanks to the watchers that have stuck around despite my silence. I hope to keep commissioning art and writing my little stories for years to come, because it's one of the few joys in my life.

Ask my characters?
Posted 7 years agoSo, I've been thinking for some time now... Would any of you like to ask any of my characters anything? Preferably Ulti, Julie, or Arith. I can't exactly do anything like artists do with their characters since I can't draw for shit. I can, however, try to type up a very detailed reply as the character. If people seem interested, I'll do it. I doubt it'll be as interesting as ones with visual representations of the characters answering, but I figured I'd ask anyways.
Arith Model
Posted 8 years agoJust felt like sharing this, since it's interesting.
For the final project in my 3D modeling class, we're supposed to make a fullbody character. I decided to make Arith. Got the torso and arm done, hope to finish the hand and start on the leg tonight.
https://i.imgur.com/arOm4YT.png
Unlike so many anthro models I've seen, though, I'm not going to leave her with just crappy color textures for her fur. I always found that so annoying. No, I'm covering her in realistic fur, since Maya is capable of that.

Level 21!
Posted 8 years agoYup. As it's just turned the 17th in my time zone, I take that as it being officially my birthday. I turn 21 today. So yeah. Nothing special at all. Carry on.
Julie Cosplay Poll
Posted 8 years agoSince I intend on getting future commissions of Julie cosplaying as video game characters, I decided to come up with a few (and take some suggestions from friends) so that I have some options. Thing is, I'm terribly indecisive. So, I made this poll on Strawpoll.
http://www.strawpoll.me/12816355/
There's a link in the actual question that takes you to an Imgur album with pictures of all the characters in the poll, just in case you don't know some of them. So anyways, take a vote! You can vote for multiple characters, as well!

Know any SFW artists?
Posted 8 years agoSo unless you're too lazy to read a profile, you should know already that I only support clean artists. Unfortunately, trying to find good, SFW artists in this fandom is like trying to wade through shit-filled sewers in an attempt to find a diamond that may not even be there.
So I ask you, if you know any SFW-only artists that I haven't watched, let me know.

Character dump site!
Posted 8 years agoIt took me all day, but I finally got my character info dump site up to a publishable standard!
https://park83.wixsite.com/ultis-chara-shack
Arith is currently the only one I have info on, but I'll be working on getting info ready for the others. If you have any feedback, it'd be much appreciated.
I'll be posting journals whenever I get a new character profile done, so be on a lookout for that if you want to know more about my characters.

Happy New Year!
Posted 9 years agoWell, it's officially the first of the year, where I live. What's my resolution? Hmmmm.... Probably to come up with a better New Year's resolution for 2018, because I got nothin'.
Hurricane Matthew
Posted 9 years agoHey there!
For those that haven't been following what's been going on on the East Coast of the US, a major hurricane has come up from the South and wreaked havoc along the East Coast, from Florida up to the Carolinas. If you don't know, I live in North Carolina, more towards the center of the state. I think we here at the center were more heavily impacted from the storm than those at the coast, due to the heavy torrential rain we had on Saturday and the rising waters from the Neuse River and the various creeks around it flooding a lot of places.
Personally, I'm fine. My household just had no power from Saturday until just recently. A tree also hit the house, but the tree was so dead and rotted that it pretty much broke apart on impact, also slowed down by a closer and stronger tree, and barely left a dent on the roof. Scared the shit out of us, though. Unfortunately, I can say we were lucky to only have that. Only a few miles from where I live, family and friends had to leave their houses due to flooding. I've seen pictures taken, even camera drone video, of the area showing those houses almost completely underwater. I've also seen houses damaged by folk who were not so lucky with the trees that fell and hit their houses.
Furthermore, the Neuse River will be cresting tomorrow. If you don't know what that means, it means that the river will reach a high point due to all the water coming in from the creeks and ground, which all eventually find their way to the river. It's expected to reach a record high of over 28 feet, which is more than high enough to flood just about everything near the river. This includes all those bridges that cross over it and the businesses, houses, everything near those bridges. Last time I saw the news, ten deaths in North Carolina had been confirmed already. For those unfortunate enough to be caught by the cresting river, I expect that number to rise. I hope to God that it doesn't, though...
So all I ask is that anyone who reads this send your hopes and prayers to those who have lost their homes in all the flooding and the rain and the wind, and send hopes and prayers that everyone will remain safe while the river crests. Also, send hopes and prayers to those further South than North Carolina. Those in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, etc., whom were impacted by the storm when it was much, much stronger.
If anyone from those affected areas reads this, I hope you all can eventually get back to some kind of normalcy and that there are no more casualties due to Hurricane Matthew.
Sincerely,
Ulti~

Why do you watch me?
Posted 9 years agoThis is something I've been wondering, recently. Why do you watch me? More specifically, why do people who only seem to ever favorite NSFW stuff watch me? Why do people who's favorite users are porn artists follow me? Why do people who appear to only care about yiff follow me? I think I make it pretty damn clear that I do not tolerate such depravity and that you'll NEVER see such art from me. So why do people follow me?
If you ARE SFW, then you're fine. By all means, I very much appreciate your watches and support. But those who are NSFW, just... I guess I'm trying to say that, if you watch me expecting NSFW or just typically like NSFW at all over SFW, you should just unwatch me. I don't want watches if they're from those that dirty themselves with such things.
By the way, if you're NSFW in a way that means, like, gore/horror/macabre (not for the purpose of fetishism, but for the purpose of horror themes), I'm fine with that. I actually find that kind of stuff interesting, to an extent. If it's anything for fetishism or anything NSFW for sexual purposes, just please unwatch me. I would never support anyone who does that, so why would you support me? No logic in that.
If you do remain a watcher, I would like to know why you watch me. Such information would be very helpful.

Soda Review Blog!
Posted 9 years agoSo if you may remember, I posted about 27 reviews of soda on here. Seems like I lost, like, 5-10 watchers from all that, so I'd say it wasn't a good idea. Thus, I've reluctantly joined the ranks of Tumblr to make a soda review blog.
http://ultissodareviews.tumblr.com/
If you like soda, feel free to follow. Right now, I'm playing catch-up, so you'll see the same stuff on there as you do on here, but once I've caught up, there will be new ones. As long as I have new sodas to try, I'll be posting reviews.
Also, if anyone would be kind enough to get word out to people who do like soda, it would be much appreciated.

SC Parts 22 - 27
Posted 9 years agoI got off track with these due to midterms, but now I'm back. I have drank some of the sodas in the past few days and didn't get a chance to review them, but I still remember my thoughts about each of them. I'm also drinking the last NEW soda as I type this, so there is a fresh review. More on that afterwards. For now, ONWARDS!
Sioux City Birch Beer
http://i.imgur.com/X30mx1I.jpg
I've already had Sioux City's Prickly Pear soda, which is one of my top 10, so I expected quality from this drink. I was not disappointed. As one of the better birch beer's of the bunch, I must say that Sioux City has another fine soda. I'd have to say this is the second best I've covered, falling just slightly behind the Reading Draft creamy red birch.

Virgil's Cream Soda
http://i.imgur.com/sss4yqP.jpg
I had heard good things about Virgil's Cream Soda, but never tasted one for myself until this review. I must say, I enjoyed this one. It's rich and creamy, but also has a flavor with just the right amount of strength to it. This may have become my new favorite cream soda, in all honesty. I can't wait to open up the really big one with Bavarian nutmeg in it. But that'll only be for something special.

Ozark Mountain Bottleworks Butter Beer
(Couldn't find a picture of the bottle, so here's the label.)
http://i.imgur.com/20Re2e3.jpg
This is another butterscotch soda. Really not much to tell, as I didn't really detect much difference between this one and the Flying Cauldron Butterscotch Beer I previously reviewed. Maybe my tastebuds aren't attuned to the butterscotch flavors enough to tell a difference. Either way, it was pretty good.

Reading Draft Orange Cream
http://i.imgur.com/pBAan0A.png
Reading Draft hasn't disappointed me yet, ad this one is no exception. It's a delicious, creamy orange dreamscicle flavor that so many have enjoyed. It's got the right creaminess and sweetness mixed a with a good amount of tang. Better than the Olde Brooklyn orange soda I covered earlier.
Rating: ★★★★★
Olde Brooklyn Root Beer
http://i.imgur.com/i9BmJTc.jpg
Unlike the Olde Brooklyn Birch Beer, this one doesn't have 5 artificial colors in it. Unfortunately, it does have one thing in common with the aforementioned atrocity. It's still an incredibly weak soda. The flavor is, again, almost not there. So far, Olde Brooklyn is 2 for 3 on bad sodas.
Rating: ★★☆☆☆
O-Zell Cherry Jubilee
http://i.imgur.com/Z1TLvPO.jpg?1
This is a pretty decent cherry drink. Reminds me a bit of cherry limeade, but with more cherry. It's nice, it's got that sweet tang of cherry, but it's not overpowering. I recommend it for those that like cherry. Might be good for mixing with another soda, too.
Rating: ★★★★☆
Well that's all I have for my haul from Rocket Fizz. I'm definitely going back there next time I find myself in Raleigh/Cary. I'll pick up some more of my favorites from here, as well as some new ones to review.
If you do the math, you may find that a few are missing. There were two bottles with wax tops and the Virgil's with the Bavarian nutmeg. Since those are kinda special, I'm saving them for special occasions only, like my girlfriend's birthday. I'll most certainly do some reviews on them when that happens.
In the meantime, I did also stock up on sodas that are continued favorites of mine. I have to ask: Would you like me to continue this a little bit longer with some of the sodas I already know I like? If so, I will. I don't mind recommending the great drinks I've come to love over the past couple of years.

http://i.imgur.com/Md65qPB.jpg
Sticking with the theme of engine fluids, I'd say it tastes like a little bit of antifreeze with an overpowering cherry flavor. (Trust me, antifreeze isn't good...) Joking aside, this cherry drink (not that you would be able to tell from the label) is a bit too overpowering in flavor. The cherry flavor is so strong, it's kinda throwing me off. If you really, REALLY like cherry, I guess you might like this, but I personally can't recommend to the average, balanced soda enthusiast.

This cola has a nice flavor. It's a cola drink, but with a hint of... something... I can't quite place what the extra flavor is... Could it be the "Indian Wells Artesian Spring Water" so boldly placed on the ingredients list? Maybe the apparent lack of artificial flavoring? I'm not sure, but this one is a really good cola drink. I'm not gonna say it trumps Curiosity Cola, my favorite drink in the world, but it's on up there for one of the best colas I've tasted.

Thomas Kemper Black Cherry
http://i.imgur.com/C2H5hqT.jpg
This one wasn't the best black cherry soda I've had. In fact, it's a bit more accurate to say it's more of a regular cherry soda than a black cherry soda. It tastes more like the tart red cherries than the sweet black cherries. I can surely taste some black cherry in there, but it's more of a hint than a full flavor. It was already mediocre, but it gets a star off for being more cherry than black cherry.

Olde Brooklyn Birch Beer
http://i.imgur.com/VCxeVIG.jpg
This has got to be the weakest birch beer I have ever tasted. Seriously, this soda was so weak in flavor, I thought my taste buds were out of wack. Dinner proved that theory wrong, though, which means this birch beer is incredibly weak. I feel I should also mention that coloring takes up half of the ingredients list. When I swirl this soda around in the bottle, the glass turns like a red wine/purple color because of all the food coloring. That can't be healthy. I'm not finishing this.

When I swirl this soda around in the bottle, the glass turns like a red wine/purple color because of all the food coloring. That can't be healthy. I'm not finishing this.

SC Part 16: Reading Draft Creamy Red Birch
Posted 9 years agoI've decided Saturdays are now double review days.
Reading Draft Creamy Red Birch

This one is certainly better than the first birch beer I covered on here. I had heard that the type of birch did actually matter to the flavor, but this proved it to me. This red birch had more of tingle going down that the earlier one. Combine that with the creaminess and this was one delicious, well-balanced birch beer.

SC Part 15: Olde Brooklyn Orange Soda

This has to be my new favorite orange soda. It tastes pretty darn close to an orange dreamsicle. Almost exactly like one, actually. It's nice and sweet, but has the tang of orange. Goes down pretty smooth, too. Creamy. I highly recommend trying this if you like orange drinks.

This soda is the first one I just simply cannot finish. I do not like this at all. It may not be a terrible drink, but I certainly don't like the flavors. Sticking with the tropical theme, I can definitely detect pineapple, banana, and coconut, among some lesser exotic flavors I can't place. That's a 2/3 for flavors I personally don't like, pineapple and coconut. If you like those flavors or a soda that kinda tastes like a pina colada, you can try it. Everyone has their tastes, but this one just goes against mine.

Judging from the logo on the bottle cap, I'd say this is a Rocket Fizz exclusive soda. If I was a literal person, I'd sue for false advertising, as my gieger counter did nothing when put near this drink. Kind of disappointing, but at least I don't have cancer from drinking it. Anyways, on to the actual review. This is a mulberry flavored soda. I think only the second I've ever tried. It's a pretty decent soda. Definitely one of the better berry sodas I've tasted.

Sarsaparilla sodas have always been one of my favorite types of root beer. This one was certainly no disappointment. It's not overpowering and the good taste lingers in your mouth a bit, for continued enjoyment.

I included the "Delicious" part in the title because I think it describes this drink pretty well. I'd have to say this is the best-tasting black cherry soda that has ever made its way across my taste buds. It's got that perfect blend of cherry flavor that's just right. I highly recommend you pick this up, if you have a soda shop that sells it.

I picked up this one for a number of reasons. Mainly because it reminds me of Harry Potter. I don't really have much to say about this one. It is what it says. It's basically carbonated liquid butterscotch. Simple, but good. If you really like butterscotch, this is for you.
