EDIT 3: Last edit, I swear. Final count on how well my mass uploads went last night (as of 8:26 AM CDT) -- 3C, 110F, 7W. It's amazing how much attention you get when you post a submission every two minutes for twenty minutes straight. I only got about fifty new page views, which isn't bad, but maybe I was expecting more. Still, It's going to go where? is now my fourth most popular upload. My most popular is still Cum from Behind with 72 favorites, so it won't be unseated any time soon.

My video production class is going really well, but in order to do my final, I had to go out and buy my own camera since the school cameras are notoriously hard to check out because there's 15 students and 5 cameras. So, I now have a Canon Rebel T3. This also means I'll have a pretty awesome camera for conventions, so fursuiters beware, I'll be taking pictures at AC!

...or is there a certain influx of certain characters showing up all across FA? I know that there are certain people who do fan art of stuff, but there are some OCs that seem to have waves of art made in giant batches. I'm not going to name names, but there are definitely some users who are getting art by the truckload of their character.

I'm not complaining, not really. The first time I noticed it, I was very upset, but that was because the user kept bidding and autobuying on auctions from artists I watch left and right. They were also commissioning a ton of artists I watch so my feed was blowing up with art of the character. Needless to say, I got kind of sick of it.

Now I'm seeing art all over FA pop up of a different character, not owned by the person mentioned earlier, but this time it doesn't seem as intrusive. They are getting art from lots of different artists, some I don't watch, and it's usually with other characters, so it feels like there is variety. I understand the need to get art of your characters. Hell, I've got a decent list of artists who are working on stuff of my characters, but I'm not commissioning 10-20 artists all at once and spamming people's feeds. I'm waiting patiently like everyone else for cool art from awesome people and building up a small repository of stuff to upload later.

Yeah, I've been bad about uploading stuff I've gotten. I'll be doing it slowly over the next few days as I realize my gallery hasn't been updated in a while (same as the tumblr...I've gotten pretty bad about it).

I'm probably going to watch a few of the Star Wars films today, though the original trilogy is higher on the queue.

Also, I ordered a few items from Lego yesterday in honor of May the Fourth and so I could get the exclusive Darth Revan minifig.

Tonight I am going to be constantly on edge while watching the Blackhawks game. If I get outbid on stuff, whatever. Hockey is more important.

There's something about fads that make me cringe, especially when they are overdone. I'm mainly talking about the fad of galaxy/cosmos fad. Seriously, do a keyword search for galaxy and it's fucking everywhere. Someone even took a bunch of their stuff from their gallery and did an overlay filter of pictures from the Hubble on it. Is it me, or is the galaxy/cosmos thing becoming asinine? In the words of the Moody Foody from Bob's Burgers, "it's overdone and dry."

In the case of creating a new OC or if you are creating a character for an RP you are a part of that uses our calendar, I have come up with an easy method for coming up with a means to get a random birthday. All you need is at least one ten-sided (d10), twelve-sided (d12), and twenty-sided (d20) die. Here's the handy chart for you:

OSWALD
I originally commissioned nightargen way back to help bring my vision of Oswald to life, so it was a combo of her and my design.

JUN
I had the idea of Jun sometime after I started to get art of Oswald. vehliayn helped me flesh him out when I won her ASA, so design goes to her and me.

ROXY
Well, there's two different versions: the one with human feet and the one with caribou feet. bunnybones and I came up with the overall look of Roxy together, her doing more of the work since all I really came up with was the species, the hair, and the tiger stripes. However, onigiri-whut did a great job of pretty much coming up with the exact same design bunnybones had. So, I'll still be attributing bunnybones and myself for the design.

vici and I have been talking for a bit and were thinking of trying to commission someone to do a picture of all of our characters together in like a photo-style image, or in an alternate fashion, like my characters together and all of her characters together (which she kind of has already from darkjinti). But what I'm talking about is a wallpaper-style image or a Weasyl/Tumblr banner.

Obviously, the price is going to be a bit high considering we have 6 total characters. We did some shopping on a trusted artist's prices and figured it would be about $90 at a minimum to get this image done. Not exactly a steep price if the two of us pitch in half of the price, but still a good chunk of change. So, who would people suggest to try and commission? Now, we do have a budget, so we can't commission some of the bigger name people, like meesh or fisk or onta, but I know of some others who have art that is almost as good who are significantly cheaper, but we are looking for suggestions from our watchers.

We don't want to give away our cap on how high we are willing to pay because we're a little afraid one of our artist friends will be like, "I will totally draw that for you for that amount of money," when their normal prices are lower than that. Not that we'd assume any of them would really do that. So, any suggestions on who would do this really well for not a lot of money?

Since I now have three characters who are designed for all sorts of stuff, I figured I'd make an updated Character Use Policy in case people wanted to get/gift art with any of my characters.

General Policy
If you would like to gift me art, thanks! Just let me know ahead of time that you're doing the art and follow the rules below.
If you want to get art with one of my characters, most notably if we are in a stream and we want to go halfsies on a commission to save dollars, then we just need to collaborate ahead of time.
Stuff that I will not involve my characters in: vore, gore, transformation, inflation, hyper, micro/macro, scat, watersports, vomit, diaper, cub, medium/heavy bondage.
Obviously, these rules are not written in stone, but they are good guidelines to stick to. Every so often I might bend my rules with Oswald because he's sometimes a bit of a slut, but otherwise I'd prefer that you just stick to the guidelines set up.

Oswald
Gender: Male // Sexuality: Bisexual (or "pansexual" since he's into transgenders as well, but I hate that term)
General Art: No problem!
Rule 34 Art: As long as it's of Oswald and Bonbon, I don't see a problem. He will not be in any other situation unless it is something discussed well beforehand.
Rule 63 Art: I'm not opposed to it, but let me know that's what your intent is beforehand. I don't like it as a surprise.

Jun
Gender: Male // Sexuality: Homosexual
General Art: Again, no problem!
Rule 34 Art: So long as it's with another guy, it's okay. He will NOT be in any erotic art with females unless he is with another male. No futas or shemales, he's not into tits.
Rule 63 Art: Eh...I'd prefer not. I like him the way he is. He's already a crossdresser.

Roxy
Gender: Female // Sexuality: Straight (possibly bi-curious, not sure)
General Art: What did I say the other two times?
Rule 34 Art: I have no issue with her being in a sexual situation with guys, gals are a maybe with a leaning towards no. This is the only situation where we don't have to do much before planning. Gang bangs and orgies are a favorite with her.
Rule 63 Art: Nope. She's cute and sassy enough, thank you.

As of right now, I have purchased four (five if you count one getting colors) images of Oswald, Bonbon, and Jun in Pokemon Trainer outfits. I am calling this Series 1, because vici and I have more characters to have drawn in this fashion. Will vehliayn do them? Maybe, maybe not. I know that there's plenty of stories and comics out there that are simply anthro-on-anthro and human-on-human (or humanoid-on-humanoid), but not a ton of human-on-anthro. Well, I mean...I've seen some. Jay Naylor has a few comics and I've even found some others that are kind of like that as well as some stories (I had found a really good one on Weasyl not too far back and even had some good social commentary about the human-on-anthro relationship), but is there a particular reason why this is?

I mainly ask because of the story I'm writing with Vici. We have our world set with nothing but anthros, and even then we're kind of restrictive. We don't have any fantasy creatures and we don't have crazy hybrids because that's not how genetics works. But, would anthro monkeys be humans? If we think about it, it's a logical step, though anthro monkeys could just be really hairy humans with slightly larger incisors, bigger feet, and maybe tails.

So, what do you think: should our world have humans in place of monkeys, or should we have more primate-like anthros? Would it change the dynamic if we just had humans?

vici has always bothered me to play World of Warcraft because she wants to play a panda. I've always told her 'no' because I used to play it and don't really enjoy it. Well, I kind of gave in last night, saying I would give it a shot. I reactivated my account, jumping back on my level 75 shaman this morning. First off: holy shit is everything different! I remember having talent trees and crazy amounts of abilities. I also remember when glyphs had just come out, so that's not really new. However, this is a different beast. I stopped playing before Cataclysm, and thank the Lords of Waterdeep for making Cataclysm free (or they at least gave it to me for free).

Now, I have a feeling that I'll be hopping over to the friendly neighborhood Game Stop to buy the WoW Battlechest for vici so she can play her damnable panda!

I am not going to mention who this rant is about, as I still respect their art, but am starting to have doubts I will even see the commission I ordered.

Background:
Around October, I contacted an artist to do the ref sheet for Roxy, my caribou character. The artist let me know that they were doing a seasonal special, that was fairly popular, so they could churn out lots at a time and a ref sheet would take a few days to finish and I would be put at the bottom of the list for commissions. I was cool with it, sent the details, and paid up front, as was their policy, and patiently waited.

I kept waiting, and then on the 8th of January, they contacted me saying that they were sorry that they hadn't gotten to my stuff yet, and that they had just gotten through an art block that they had, as well as going through a bunch of personal stuff over the holidays. It was nice to get some sort of acknowledgement, especially since their art queue is buried in their journals and not linked anywhere on their user page (it is updated, trust me).

Now the next part. By the time the 21st rolled around, I contacted them again, just wanting an update on the status. I mean, it had been 13 days, and I was supposedly at the top of their queue, even though they had done other work during that time. They contacted me back, saying that they were behind schedule on a lot of stuff, as well as just getting back from a convention, which was part of the lateness of their reply (which actually came only a few hours after I sent the note). They said they were going to be working on it during the week, which is now coming to a close, and still no update on anything.

Dilemma:
I'm starting to get frustrated by the wait. I have wanted to get so much artwork done of Roxy, but I haven't been able to since I don't have a ref sheet. Sure, some artists do work off of descriptions, but then there's that slight possibility that they don't get it right, which is why many artists require ref sheets. I've seen lots of YCH's where I was thinking, "Roxy would be awesome for that," but can't do it because of the wait. Now I'm curious at what point does the wait become too much? I've thought about having a deadline set in my head, like, "they have until next Friday, then I ask for a progress sketch or my money back." What are your thoughts? Should I ask for my money back and try to commission someone else to do the ref sheet? Should I just wait patiently, with my thumb up my butt? The one thing I will not back down from is the money. I paid them $60, which is a nice chunk of change and a decent price for a ref sheet, but I am not willing to write that off as a loss.

vici and I are planning on going to Anthro Con this year (we already have out badges), but we're worried about having enough money to take care of the hotel and travel and have some to buy stuff while we're there.

We're planning on driving there and figure it'll cost us $160 round trip for gas, but also have no idea how much the hotel will be since prices haven't been posted, but we estimate about $175 a night (so, about $525 total). That's not even counting the food...

So, what we want to do is extend an opportunity for one or two people to room with us, even hitch a ride with us. Obviously, we'd be asking for help with the costs (an equal share), and we can easily pick up someone nearby where we live in Central Illinois, or someone living in the Indianapolis area, but we don't want to travel too far out of the way...you know, because we want to be timely.

Yup, got my name over there, too. It's pretty sweet.

My old laptop died way back when, in two different ways. First, I left it in the car one day when it was really hot, thinking it would be fine in there for a couple hours. Nope, battery exploded. So, it became less of a laptop and more of a condensed desktop with a monitor. Then, when i moved into the bigger apartment with vici and my old buddy from work, the screen got busted. So, I've had a lack of all the tools I had from my last laptop, like all my Adobe products and my test server. But, no longer.

I just ordered my new laptop, which means I might get back into drawing again. The going back to drawing thing even inspired me to buy $150 worth of art books, including two pose books. I know my current art sucks, but if I can get a consistent style down, even if it's cartoony or sketch-like, then I will be happy. I used to draw all the time in high school, and I kind of want to get back to that. So, in the future, my dear watchers, you might actually see crap that I draw...furry stuff included because I'm going to try it out.

Why do people need be crazy, obsessive, and stalkers? Especially in a community that's supposed to be supportive and open to all the crazy shit that goes on in it? For fuck's sake...

vici has already expounded on what has happened, and I will NOT be follow up with a post of exactly what was said to me because some of it is very personal. What is good, however, is Tigerdile will ban this person or us if any party tries to communicate with the other.

Recently, one of the users on the site asked me if it was cool to get commissions with one of my characters (as of right now, it's a 50/50 guess which one it is). So, I'm going to outline my policy on using my characters in commissions:

First, you must ask for permission as I do not give blanket permission to use my characters.
Second, you have to tell me who the artist is so I may look at their gallery. If it's someone that I've gotten work through before, there's a very good possibility that I will just say 'okay'.
Third, you have to tell me the situation that my character will be in. Will they be in a SFW or NSFW image? If NSFW, will they be a top or bottom, a sub or dom, using a toy or in a bukkake party? These are just examples of details that I'd like ahead of time.
Fourth, you must give proper credit to my character on the image or post.

The reason why I have this policy is because these are my characters and I want to maintain proper control over them. Sure, I have lots of images of my characters in adult or pornographic situations, but that doesn't mean you know the ins and outs like I do. If you are ever interested in having a character of mine team up with yours in a commission or whatever, just follow the first three steps by noting me those details, and then use the fourth when it's complete.
