I got another Meesh stream commission today, and it's in the works as I write this. I decided to get something with Jun in it since I finally have a ref of him. Hope you guys enjoy it when I upload it. X3

I normally don't air my complaints on the internet, but I feel like this is an important issue. Recently, my girlfriend contacted an artist on FA who was doing a set of sketch commissions. I have tried to get work done by this artist before, but quickly became upset with their ethics on how clients are "chosen".

The artist in question, who I will not name, apparently does not do "first come" commissions ever, preferring to pick and choose which projects they want to do. This to me is a red flag. If you are going to ignore possible clientele, they will stop following you and then never spend money on you. This actually happened to me when I tried to get artwork done from the same artist in question. I attempted to secure two slots, one for me and one for my girlfriend, but was cast to the wayside because I guess I am not a part of the artists circle of friends.

But, back to the main story. My girlfriend had contacted the artist first about getting a group of images done, and at the point of her contacting the artist, there was no mention of "I will choose who gets my art" (my words, not the artists, but a decent paraphrasing of it). We are certain the only reason why my girlfriend is even getting the artist to do this commission for her is because she was willing to pay a little extra because she wanted quite a bit.

Now, here's the funniest part. The artist has a commission queue, with my girlfriend being at the top of it, but apparently the queue isn't actually a queue. The artist is placing free or gift art for friends at a higher priority than commissions. Thankfully, I unfollowed this artist a while back because of the debacle that happened with me, but once my girlfriend gets the art that she commissioned, she is going to unfollow them, too.

There's a big, broad line between being faithful to those who commission you and doing freebie art for friends and for practice, and if you want to be professional, you don't use favoritism for who you commission or for whose work gets done first. If you have commissioners, they are the priority because they are paying you to do work. They are being your lifeline for paying bills and allowing you to live comfortably. I can understand doing fun art every so often, but you should have a schedule for it. Let your commissioners know that every so often (be it every couple of weeks, every 10-15 commissions, or whatever) you will do a couple pieces of fun art to break up the monotony or keep your skills up to snuff. Don't tell people that they might not get chosen because you'd prefer to pick and choose who gets art and who doesn't UNLESS it's a raffle or contest.

I don't care how good of an artist you are, you don't fuck with your clientele of commissioners. Since you are getting paid to draw, guess what? Drawing is now your job! Get the work done, then have fun.

Like Nero, I'm kind of just sitting back and watching FA go crazy after the past few days of insanity. Sure the site was down, and sure there's now a mad scramble to post journals about "here's other ways to watch me" or "I've got a Weasyl account," but seriously, I'm staying right where I am. Here's my thoughts on the whole thing: we're not paying for this service and people are going ape shit over the fact that the site was down for almost a week. Tech support isn't easy. I was tech support in the Army for over 3 years and when we had catastrophic failure, it took a while to get everything back up and running. The one thing I will fault them on was the PR. The rate of information dissemination was terrible and that's what they need to improve. Otherwise, they did a decent job. Not great, but okay.

Now, onto better stuff.

So, over the past few days, I started up Pokemon Y with Roxy a my trainer. She got lucky when she chose the fennekin, because it was a girl! I named her Lulu after the character from Final Fantasy X. Also, Oswald caught Zygarde with a freaking great ball! Vici was pissed when I showed her. We also just got back from Anime Crossroads. It was fun, but we're hoping to get our Sailor Moon riff panel approved for next year. We're also thinking about hosting a Pokemon tournament there next year since there was no Pokemon events or panels at all. Yeah, I was expecting something, but nope, nothing.

vici was going through some random NSFW subreddits when she happened upon GayOtters. She showed it to me and I am now enlightened to the term "otter" in the gay community. Oddly enough, I kind of fit the bill of an otter in real life, but I'm not gay. While I do love me some mens, I'm in a wonderful relationship with a womans. I also find it funny that my fursona is an otter, so yeah.

Shit, I couldn't think of another 'M' for holidays.

I started a Minecraft server for my roommate and I to screw around with. It's loads of fun, but for now I won't disclose my IP address. Here's some highlights: He and I have built some pretty cool homesteads next to each other, my abode being more castle-like. I dug a huge mine that is very labyrinthine, so I tend to not spend time there, lest I get very disoriented. I've got lots of chickens and cows, of which I breed to get food and leather. I also have a greenhouse filled with carrots, potatoes, wheat, and pumpkins. I tried building an iron golem, but it kept clipping in the area that I wanted it to be in, so I had to destroy it. I might widen my moat, but I'd also have to make a bigger drawbridge.

Since November is over, Movember is also over. My moustache doesn't grow very fast, but I got it back after the 30 days. It's definitely to the point where the whiskers touch my lip in the semi-annoying fashion, so it's time to trim. vici is also happy that my facial hair is back.

And now the holidays are upon us. vici got me an advent calendar, but it's a Lego Star Wars one, so it's awesome! I have to come up with some more gift ideas for her, but it's not exactly easy. We were kind of thinking about doing a "kinky Christmas" thing, but that might be a bust. Well, I'm sure I've got an idea of some things that she'll like.

As an additional note, I'm planning on learning to knit and sew in the near future, so I might start making crazy stupid crafts.

I'm a fan of the site Reddit, and I peruse many of the subreddits, but there's one in particular I'd like to talk about today. I read the posts on /r/gonewildstories, a subreddit dedicated to accounts of real-life sex, from time to time, usually because some of the people are really descriptive and know how to write a story. Sadly, you have to wade through a lot of shit to get to those gems.

There are usually three different types of posts: really short posts that are fairly bland, posts with zero formatting that are almost impossible to read, and then the posts that I enjoy. I like the long stories, ones that have build-up and then good descriptions of the action. Sadly, there are a lot of long stories that have great build-up, but then gloss over the details of what happens during the act. Like the subject of this journal, it's like reading Tolkien.

Tolkien, while a good and prolific writer, tended to build up everything around the action, and then use something to negate the need to write any action. Read the Fellowship of the Ring. The scene in the movie where they are in Moria and they fight the cave troll? Yeah, that's not in the book. Gandalf finds a side door, pushes everyone in there and then casts a spell and they escape. That's it. No action, no drama, just deus ex machina. That seems to be the same writing style for many of the posts on /r/gonewildstories, great build-up, but the sex is quick and bland.

A while back, onta had a blind auction for cameos in the new comic "Marty & Co." And since I am a huge fan of onta's wok, as well as a subscriber of Hardblush and Wetblush (seriously, check them out, they're great), I decided to try my hand at getting one of the four cameo slots. I just got the email saying the amount I bid was in the top four, so I had to send them the money. So, Oswald, who's already kind of a porn star, is now going to be in an onta comic.

Holy shit...I think that's big news. I don't know when he'll show up, but he will. Oswald's going to become immortalized by one of the biggest names in furry porn, as well as the furry community in general, even if he's only in the background.

Finally, vici hit over 100 watchers in the past couple of days, which is more big news! Her character Bonbon and my character Oswald have been slowly becoming furry porn stars, which is a fun experience.

vici and I just got back from Midwest Furfest, and it was so much fun. We're definitely thinking about going to the rave next year, have some fun on the dance floor.

Also, we're starting to look into the idea of RPing, right now just short term. It would most likely be just one additional person to join in and do some story-driven RP. If you're interested, send me and her a note and we'll talk over the details.

vici and I are getting ready to head up to Chicago for MWFF. While I'm sure very few people who watch me here will be attending, I'm sure I will see all sorts of awesome fursuits, artists, and dealers. I've looked over the panels and, sadly, none really cry out to me. I feel like it's going to be a weekend of wandering around the dealer room and the artist alley. I might try my hand at the Furoticon beginner tourney, but that's up for debate. You will see me and her walking around in our lemonbrat hoodies, maybe even stopping by to see them and have them snap a photo of us.

On the drive up, vici and I will be outlining a revised storyline for our series, which will eventually be posted on our joint account ozbee. We just finished writing the draft of the first chapter, except for a small bit that vici needs to write. I'm currently editing the draft and preparing an intro to the story that we're writing so people can understand the setting better.

My random thought today refers to the recent banning of spam-to-win journals and excessive YCH/auction posts. While I can understand the necessity to advertise to get exposure, I feel like the admins were right to ban these sorts of posts. nelly posted a comment on the official post about this and gave a good example of how bad the "spam-to-win" journals were getting, as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/nATd1B8.png . I also have to say, any contest where someone is giving away actual money seems suspect to me. If it were something like "$1000 worth of art" I'd be okay with it, "$1000 real cash" and I feel like it's a scam.

That all being said, I will gladly promote artists in my journals, maybe starting up a "Watch Wednesday" or something, pimping my favorite artists and good friends (not that I have any RL friends here other than vici).

I keep seeing people post stuff with MFF in it, and each time I see it I don't associate it with Midwest Furfest. Seriously, it just doesn't click in my head until much later. MFF really doesn't work for my logic, but MWFF does and makes more sense to me, so why not use that? It makes it much more apparent than MFF.

But hey, I'll be there, and if anyone recognizes me, then I'll be really surprised (except for vici, because she's going with me).

All the free pokemon! Seriously, I never knew that Gen VI would just give away pokemon left and right. The first one was the lucario WITH the mega stone and now a lapras? Fuck yes!

Here's some recaps as to what's going on:

- I've maxed friendship with five pokemon using Pokemon Amie: Rainbow, my gyarados, Blitz, my pikachu, Hilda, my quillidan, Flambé, my charmeleon, and my tyrunt.
- I caught a shiny drifloon! It's my second wild shiny ever, my other was a pidgey, now a pidgeotto, from HeartGold.
- I now have a female eevee, so if people need eevees, I'll pump them out.

In the off chance that you don't use the internet (which, seriously, how the hell are you here?), Pokemon X and Y was released today. I've started my journey in Pokemon X with my expert trainer, Oswald! He started with a chespin (who is a GIRL!) and I just chose charmander as my second starter.

There I was, browsing my FA and doing some light outlining of a future miniseries when I saw that meesh was doing a livestream. 'Why not watch,' I thought to myself, you can do that and watch Game Grumps at the same time. So, I watched the first group try to guess the random number for a commission slot in the first round, and then watch the doublers (people willing to pay double), and then the triplers, and I thought, well, maybe I should try for round two since meesh is awesome.

So, we fast forward past all of the drawings and see that he's ready for round two. He declares that we should guess. I've had the number twelve in my head since after the first round's drawing and I blurt it out. Got it dead on. I was flabbergasted. I was going to get art from MEESH! It sucks that I didn't have my other characters' ref sheets, otherwise I would have gone for something with Roxy or maybe do a Jun x Oswald pic, but I went with the staple that has been my gallery so far: Bonbon x Oswald. I'll post it when I get it since I'm still watching the stream and I'm #3 on the list, after the triple and double.
