I think it's time to finally look into opening a SubscribeStar. Does anyone have any advice/cautions about these subscription services? Rewards you like or dislike? Other artists' pages I should look at? I don't want to paywall content or stop taking commissions, so any input is appreciated.

I'll be signing my work as GavBat from now on and updating my username on services that allow it. This is partly to stop negging myself every time I sign a drawing, but mostly because of a lot of comments that actually my art is very impressive, you should call yourself impressive instead.

I don't think I'll go so far as to start a new gallery here on FA because a) that would be a huge pain in the ass for me and b) that would be a minor pain in the ass for all of you, and also c) that username appears to be taken and I probably should have checked that first, oh well. The comments will unavoidably continue.

Cars are horrible wheeled furnaces that you shovel money into, forever. I hate them.

I have been really lax about updating my journal, haven't I?

So, this year my partner,  Vandringar, started his own business, Nepenthe Chocolate: http://www.nepenthechocolate.com

We've been experimenting with lots of unusual flavors and chocolate now comprises a probably unhealthy proportion of my diet.  It is good stuff, though, all made from scratch in our own kitchen. Have a look!

This journal is a month and a half late, but I started a full-time job recently with a somewhat lengthy commute, which has cut into my drawing time by quite a bit. I apologise to my commissioners for the delay; I know some of you have been waiting quite a while longer than I'd ever intended to take.

I won't be taking any new commission requests for the foreseeable future. I do have a Picarto account set up now, though, so I may start doing art streams at some point, depending on whether I ever muster the time or interest.

Guys, I just moved recently and I have had no Internet for weeks. Weeks! Hopefully it will get sorted out soon, but if I'm not very responsive, that's the reason.

Pay-what-you-want commissions are still on, and once I'm reliably connected again, I'm hoping to make my art into a full-time source of income. Since I'm not able to be online regularly, I'm extending my queue to 15 total slots, to ensure I won't run out of things to work on while I'm stuck offline. Let's start with something simple to get back into the commissionating swing. Since I've been struggling to sort out a price list, I'm taking some pay-what-you-want commissions. The aim for all of these will be coloured sketches with varying levels of refinement according to the price paid, but I will be focused somewhat on turnaround time and getting the general pace of my work up.

I haven't decided what I'm doing with this site yet. The plan for now is to continue posting to my gallery here, but that may change in the future. FA is definitely not at the forefront of my attention anymore, and many of my friends are moving on to Weasyl, which I much prefer anyway for a number of reasons (I am easily enticed by mustelids).

My old art will remain here. I only chose a few of my more recent and less embarrassing pictures to populate my Weasyl gallery when the site launched, and I don't have any plans to port the ancient and terrible junk over as of now, so this archive will be exclusive to Fur Affinity until further notice. There are tools in place to make transferring them easy and non-spammy, though, so it's not completely off the table.

If you want to see 100% of my new work, please follow me on Weasyl. I've got a simple reason for this: lots of people are uncomfortable with this site and trying to get away from it, up to and including wholesale gallery wipes. If I'm drawing someone who doesn't want to appear here, I'll respect that. By the same turn, if I've drawn a picture for you here that you'd like taken down, please let me know and I'll do so.
