and now for something completely different.
General | Posted 18 years agoHey there, all. Just updating to say that this I'm not dead and neither is this account. I don't really have anything new to upload, unfortunately. I've got some silly stuff, I suppose, but that doesn't really count.
Anyway, I'm in the middle of my first week at University. It's been strange. Boys talk to me here, can you imagine? I think it's because my hair is longer, my sexuality somehow becomes less ambiguous. Yeah...that's a half a story of confusion on my part. Not sure what to say.
I've got limited art supplies here, so I've been forced to set limits on my commission status...including prices! Finally, right? So I'll be updating that information after I get through updating this.
Still open for trades, and in fact, I really want to do some, so I'll probably be hunting down people who say they want to do them. If you want to do a trade with me, or if you know someone who wants to do a trade, shoot me a link in their direction, and that would be fantastic.
There was supposed to be a fire drill over an hour ago...this is freakin' ridiculous.
Today, I sent off a traveling sketchbook to FA's very own tooiebird. It was fun to do, and I will be glad to see it back whenever she gets it and does her stuff and sends it back to me. I need a job so I can pay for postage more than anything else. Yikes! Especially because it'll get heavier as we go along.
And now, to bed, for verily I am tired, but before that, to the shower, for indeed was today the day of laundry, and as I am on the top floor, and the machines in the basement, much running of the stairs was to be had, and the sweating of the gross. It was not good.
SAY SOMETHING TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

hallo, i'm back!
General | Posted 18 years agoI just got back from family vacation yesterday. That was a bit of a party. Really, it was only a bit of one. (I ouch, and not in the 'i had a good time' way)
Anyway, after a week away, I kind of cruised through all my messages, which is why I only favorited some things and left no comments (sorry, guys.)
Leaving for school on the 22nd. So, for all of you experienced souls, what should I expect from move in day? (and, hell, all subsequent days?) I don't even know which of my art things to bring and which to leave behind!
I need to scan and upload more stuff soon. I've got it, I do! Damn my lazy bones.

Trades
General | Posted 18 years agoSo I'm doing this art trade with a friend of mine, and I've been doing sketches for...um...a while now. I've been mixing it in with other stuff, so it's not like I've been focused. But DAMN, I did not think it would be that hard to draw John Simm. The man is maniacally difficult, I swear it.
The Doctor? I've got him down ok, just some brushig up to do to make sure I can do it later, without reference.
Martha Jones? Three sketches and I got her down (plus I have a Who magazine that has pictures of her if I need references later)
Lucy (intheskywithdiamonds)? There was only one photo of her readily accessible via search engines, so I used that and made damn sure it was a good sketch.
John Simm (whose character name I won't mention so I don't spoil any potential Who fans for the end of the season)? A bitch. Damn his eyes!
Yeah, anyway. The trade prompt I was given was 'Voodoo Child' (those who have seen Sound of Drums know why) (fandom Doctor Who) and i'ts great fun except for this Simm thing. I'm planning on doing a watercolor diptych. Dyptich? Which way do the vowels go? I need to stop posting things late at night, it messes with my mind. ANYWAY. It's going to be good, too.
This post is also to say: I'm open to trades. In fact, I welcome them. All kinds, all sorts. Yess....Although, to kick things off, I suppose I really should be coming out of my shell and asking people to do trades. I'm such a damn coward about some things.
Um...sketches to come later? (If I remember)

hi
General | Posted 18 years agoSo, as you guys might have guessed, I'm really inconsistant about updating the sites I belong to. This is because I am a combination of lazy and unable to access computer that dazzles minds the world over.
Anyone looking through my gallery right now might notice a total lack of fur art at all. I'm working on it, I promise! I have a piece in mind, but I'm having the hardest time arranging the composition so that it's not boring/cliche/a piece of crud. Should be interesting when it's done. I hope.
In real life news, I've began to sniff around galleries for shows and their willingness to sell my work, and I've gotten (of the three places I've visited) one hopeful reply, one rejection, and one place was closed (who closes on tuesdays? weirdoes. But they're my very best bet, so...yes.) So, I guess that just means that if you live in the Chicago region, it'd be great if you would keep an eye out for me, say hello if you spot me. I'll be gone to Michigan in the fall (yeah, MSU) but for now I'm in good old Naperville still.
Which leads me to my next bit of solicitation (is that the word I really want to use? Probably not, but I've had a long day, and can't really think of a better one): If anyone's interested in commissions and trades, I'd be more than happy to participate. Price of commission depends on the size and labor intensity of the piece as well as the medium, but you're guaranteed three sketches while we work out size and price and everything else (I work primarily in watercolor and acrylic, though I'm not adverse to working in dry media such as charcoal.)
So....yeah....how're you guys?
