Is it just me, or does seeing a piece of furry writing with more than 6 chapters automatically drop your interest to zero? Nothing really says "I have no idea how to cut out non-essential story details" like HOLIDAY IN FUR-ONA PART 17.

Soooooooo things have been insane this last week/month/year as my mate tries to find a job at a company that's not crashing down around him, and I work my ass off for the first promotions on my floor in two years. He got an interview for a new job (and audited on the current job GREAT TIMING) the same time I found out there were only two slots open for promotion...and five people competing for them.

Today, he got the job, complete with a staff of five direct reports. An hour later, I got the promotion, with a nice fat pay increase.

No one's embarrassed themselves in the comments for "Pas De Deux" (so far), so here's a question that's suddenly bothering me: WHAT exactly is the sudden obsession with bouncers?

I've just viewed about my 875th picture of a bouncer being sexy, by which I mean "standing there with his arms crossed." Explain to me why the hell we care? This is like finding 65 or so pictures of peoples' characters as postal carriers. SEXY postal carriers, sure, but the profession feels like it was picked totally at random.

Is it the authority thing? Because I think we could do better.
The size? Because I think the Muscular to Morbidly Obese ratio is about 2 to 31. Oh wait, I forgot furries don't actually go to clubs; we just draw our characters as ravers.

The job isn't exactly prestigious, so this is a mystery to me. When I start commissioning alts I don't think any of them will have a profession that involves regularly being vomited on by sorority girls.

The top most attractive 2% of bouncers I've ever seen have outperformed the rest by not having to check the sign when doing the math on my driver's license. I don't have anything against them and they fill a useful function in society, but so do garbage men, and I don't see furries commissioning them by the truckload.

Of course, it's also possible we all lack originality and this is just fallout from :icodyvfrost:'s ISO series. That would be...rational, at least.

For the record, I love to argue.

I love disagreeing with people. I love debating with people. At parties, I purposely bring up Obamacare and gay marriage, because I love to rip into it with total strangers. And there is nothing I love more than being told I'm full of shit, especially by a person who can back it up.

I know I have researched the hell out of my topics of choice, and deep down, I know I'm right most of the time. And when I'm NOT right, I learn something I've missed about a topic in which I am interested. Win-win!

I realize that's the running joke about us furries, but I have been to several conventions, I've existed in the fandom for more than a decade, and I think most furries are good, courteous folks with enough social graces to get by in life.
