odoriferous...
Posted 15 years agoThere just aren't many things that hit the same plane as the unsavory scent of skunk spray. Burning rubber comes close. To be succinct, there are some things nobody would ever want to happen to them; that is why I'm glad it happened to a co-worker of mine, because I don't know how I'd have reacted had things been reversed.
This time of year is his favorite time; The weather cooling off, a crisp scent to the air in the early part of the day, and he can run the vents instead of the air conditioner in his car on his 5am drive to work. He loves the cold, and rarely finds the need to even pull out a light windbreaker, let alone a thin jacket.
It seems like yesterday that I was telling him how my little brother wouldn't shut up about how horrible our house smelled since the dog had been sprayed. Wait, that was two days ago... Anyway, I went on to tell him that I'd seen many of the black and white creatures along the roads and had already had several close calls with them myself.
Yesterday, when I stepped away from my car, I couldn't help but notice that classicly burning stench that I know so well. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out where the smell originated because it so fully permeated the air. The worst part was that it seemed to follow me as I traversed the halls toward the timeclock so I could start my shift doing laundry for the facility. Out of curiosity, I walked up the hall to the housekeeping room to see if there was anything to be wary about that I should know. Lo and behold, a previously stated co-worker stood in the cramped space spraying himself down with an entire cans worth of air freshener; he had his classic 'I did something increadibly stupid' look on his face, but he said "Don't ask."
I couldn't help but laugh until my sides hurt. "Hit a skunk?" I sputtered.
"Yeah."
"Had the vents wide open, didn't you?"
"When don't I this time of year? Don't we have anything that doesn't smell flowery for air freshener?"
"Only if you want to smell like vanilla..."
On a side note, don't ever try to cover up that odor with fabreze or even just air freshener; it creates this sickly-sweet smell that burns the nose and is nearly as bad as when it's used against gym clothes that have been stewing for a few months (Happened to be at home when my little brother tried that. We both gagged...). You WILL have to throw the clothes away...
Oh, and just to prove that I don't only talk about these experiences and worse, a friend of mine just recently moved back from afar. I know it's only temporary, and I will NOT go into detail about the why of it, but at least for the next five or six months, I don't have to worry about him and his girlfriend constantly asking me to move up half the country away to stay with them for a time. That, and I have somebody I can hang out with in this middle of nowhere town I gladly call home.

Happy 4th (tomorrow)
Posted 15 years agoThat's right, I know I basically dropped off of the face of the earth for a while, but I give you proof that I am not totally gone; behold my irrefutable proof! The almighty journal entry:
Yeah, I figured that I was overdue on my sporadically posted journals. Since I won't be around a computer tomorrow, I thought 'What better way than to wish everyone a happy fourth?' I only wish that I'd had more money so that I could buy some REAL fireworks... And yet, dispite the disappointment, there is a slight twinge of relief that I couldn't spend as much as I'd like.
Anyway, I've got plenty of typing to do, but first I need to search form my missing spiral notebooks... That, and some extra time to myself with wich to do said typing.

fu-shoot
Posted 15 years agoIt seems as though it has been way too long since I was last on here (or any other site) for anything. Well, I thought I should at least let it be known that it was not intentional, so I'll try and explain myself and let someone know what all has been going on in my life... Work, school, family issues, vehicle troubles, work, and my laptop caught a major virus that fu-screwed me over... The good news is, I have a new laptop that I am exteremely pleased with. Now provided I can recover anything that I had accomplished a while back, I should be able to post new stuff. If not, then... well, what can you do?
Bah...
Posted 17 years ago Not really sure why, but I've been distancing myself from everything lately (Well, for about a year or several thousand e-mails worth...) and seeking seclusion. Also, because my friends like my writing at least as much as my sketching, I've not done much of anything about drawing. However, I hope to have at least one chapter out soon and will definitely want a critique. Anybody who is willing to take a look, just let me know.
Funny thing; for my birthday (on the 17th) my workplace gave me a gift basket. Now, for as long as I've been there (One year as of the 17th. Ironic... No?) my co-workers have asked me what kind of coffee I drink, because I always show up (Almost) bright-eyed for work at 6am every day I'm scheduled. To clarify, there are around 100 people that I work with, and I have told them all that I detest coffee (don't really want to talk about the reason, it's a little personal) but lo-and-behold, when I walk through the door to pick up my check, there is a gift basket with a huge coffee mug and more kinds of coffee to go with it than I care to count.
I'm at a bit of a crossroads here; do I drink the crap, or pass it off on my friends and family?

sick...
Posted 17 years agoUgh!!! I hate being sick, I've been in and out of it for the past week or so and haven't been able to draw much. I did however get a hand mostly finished that I would like to have critiqued, however, I wasn't able to get it scanned when I had the chance because I was passed out. It'll be here soon, I hope, and there should be more to follow.
19
Posted 18 years agoTurned 19, wasn't too bad... Could have been better, but oh well. I got $50, a cake, ice cream, and a couple movies. I'm just glad I have gas money at this point.
*sighs*
Posted 18 years ago*sighs* Why is it; the things you find most important are often the most difficult to hold onto? The moments you cherish are made to last for all time. And time is the biggest problem. But why is that no matter what you do, it slips through your fingers like sand in a sieve? I can't help but think that I'm losing a piece of myself every time this happens. But hey, change is inevitable.
On a different note... Something that I have been trying to get across to some people... Friendship is all I have to offer at this point, and while those I am referring to may never read this (they don't come to places such as this) I just have to state it all the same. I hold my friends as close as family, and some of them know this. What VERY FEW know, is that I practice abstinence, and those friends that know this (the few women that do) Can't seem to fathom that 'No MEANS no'. Otherwise they wouldn't do this to me. Well it pisses me off really, and they can't seem to understand when I distance myself. Then they act all hurt that I could do such a thing, and I feel like I'm leading them on (even though I tell them point blank that I'm not interested) I just want to know... What way should I deal with this? Can't any of them stand to just be really good friends?
Funny thing though (Not really...) The person that I've been having the most difficulty with keeps telling me that she can wait (even though she keeps dropping hints and pestering me left and right everywhere I'm at... Even in person, telling me that she's not getting what she REALLY wants for Christmas, but will wait) She is calling me every other day and saying that she wants to have a conversation with me... The conversation consists of about 10 words out of my mouth and about 2 hours of her talking. How do I keep ending up in these 'fubar' situations? Well, in case you were wondering, she called today so, so far SNAFU!

*Swears loudly*
Posted 18 years agoGrr! Not really having a great time trying to juggle so many things at once. School is being an off and on pain in - The Neck - At times it is bearable, when I can
(A)Follow/understand what is being said (some of my teachers are not the best with English)
(B)Stop procrastinating long enough to get it done and do what I want
And
©Get people off my friggen back long enough so that I can actually get to work on the drawings that I promised I would do (problem is, they never give me enough details. One person in particular (wants me to draw a dire-wolf morph with an ice orb in one paw and a scimitar for his RP profile or some-such, I ask for details and he gives me diminsions instead like height and such.) Is especially difficult.
It doesn't help that I've got a little art block going on, or that I'm short on gas money with no job.
Aw hell, I'm going to quit now before I really DO start ranting and listing my problems.

I went to a concert
Posted 18 years agoYep, I just got back from a concert. It was Three Days Grace with Seether! It was loud, crowded, and altogether rocked! They played all my favorite songs and then some, like Pain, Animal I have become and more. I bought a Three Days Grace shirt (decided not to get the sweater because it's not worth the $50 they asked for) because I wanted something to take home, just wish they had made a shirt that had both TDG and Seether on it, but since Seether was a guest, I guess that they didn't see the point. But more people would have bought it... If all went well and my cousins digital camera was working well I should have some pictures to upload soon.
Snake on the loose...
Posted 18 years agoWell, I seem to have lost my pet snake in the house... I need to find the dang thing before someone else does and kills her. And with my luck at finding things, it seems I'll just have to buy some pinkies (baby mice if you didn't know...) and set up my own traps. I mean, I already have to go in for my books for college, and I'll probably end up getting something to drink...
I no longer have a job because I am going to school... What I need to do now is find one that will actually work around my time in class, because I'm going to be a little hard put for cash soon, considering one side of my family is trying to make me pay my own way through (as well as new clothes, shoes, gas, food, fees, books, and soon to be car insurance) while the other side is going to stand aside until I truly desperately need the help, so over all I am just Thrilled to be able to do all of this (note sarcasm...)
Other than that, I dislocated my shoulder yesterday. It felt fine until today when I was starting to use it. I mean, it was a little tender, but that's about it. I ALMOST had full range of motion.

Back to School
Posted 18 years agoOOOOOH, Back to School, back to school, baack too schoool (Isn't that from the movie Billy Madison?)
This time it's College. ...Yippy...
Anywho, The title tells us that I'm going to be back under the grindstone. I start on the twentieth, and I'm not REALLY looking forward to it. Mostly because of friends (the lack of them being there) and such... But especially because of gas prices and the fact that I wasn't able to live on campus (SONOFA...)
Since there were people who weren't leaving until several months into the semester I told them just where they could stick their rooms and told them I wanted the money I was using to reserve a room... Still havn't gotten a cent back yet though...
I'm taking the basics to start out with, at least until I know what I want to go for... But so far I'm leaning toward computers as a goal...
Anything I should know while going through it all?

I'm a Lost cause today...
Posted 18 years agoI've never truly felt this way before...
Damnit! I hate it when I start loosing friends... A friend that I have been seeing is moving in order to go to college. In two days time she is going to be 4 hours away and I don't know when the next time I will see her is.
She's very special to me, in a sence that... I don't know what to think. when I'm around her, I feel more relaxed (usually) and can be myself.
The Problem with graduating and going off to college...
*sigh* @-@ It's never been easy for me to say goodbye to friends, especially when I've known them most of my life, and it's difficult for me to face the fact that I may never see them again. True I'll probably find new friends and all, but they'll never fill the rift that's been opened.
I just honestly hope that my school friends will stay in touch with me so that I have something to look forward to.

Lost; One Muse...
Posted 18 years agoThe subject says it all... I can't concentrate long enough to do much of anything because too much is worming its way into my day. Any advice?
I'm off to bed, got to get to work early tomorrow... And I feel drained enough to sleep for a few days, but oh well...

Posted 18 years agoStarted a new job yesterday at the town Co-Op, and don't know what to think... It was alright and all, but man did I work my ass off! (I was even told this) I helped unload the grain trucks, muck out the basements, fix that jigantic sump pump that they have in one of the tanks and altogether did most of the odd jobs...
It seems I probably wont be able to drive the bobcat unless I become full time... Now THAT sucks. But It was the repitition of the tasks that got to me. (that and the fact that once I got home I started coffing my lungs out.
It's really not too bad of a job, it's kinda laid back once you catch up on the stuff others missed and all... about $8.50 an hour I believe, and I worked 9 hours straight. Fun Fun.
Later all

Oak... Why Oak?
Posted 18 years agoWell dangit! I was out camping at a family reunion, went fishing on the dam at night, and guess what? I must have stumbled through a patch of poison oak, because I'm all broken out, it itches and BURNS! All I can do now is go to the store and stock up on Calamine lotion...
It was nowhere near this bad Last time I had it.
Next time I'll remember the friggen lantern... GAHH!!!

Whats going down is...
Posted 18 years agoWell folks, I havn't been able to sketch much. Very little in fact... Just trying to organize myself for something up-and-coming. I graduate in about two weeks.
Oh! Prom was alright, I stood outside most of the time and watched the stars and people go bye, and try as I might... Some people got a few snap-shots of me, and say I can have a few. IF I get any of said photos, would any of you like to see them? I would like to know, because I don't know how well I clean up...

Head implodes
Posted 18 years agoGAHHH!!! I went looking for a tux earlier, and had to sit through the usual poking and proding, then, the guy messed up the spelling of my name (probably still hasn't gotten it right yet) I browsed through the book they had for the design I wanted, got my second choice, Picked out a pair of dress-shoes and wasted most of my day driving around trying to find a place and pick up something that I will probably need soon. Only to find that the place was closed because of Good Friday! Won't be open again until next week, but I won't be able to pick it up easily. Can't be too surprised I suppose. All of this for Prom, and I'm not even out of the hole yet, two weeks away and there is alot of stuff to do. (I hear)
I suppose I should grab something to eat, and try to catch some sleep before I start ranting...
*Looks up* Hmmhmm. Seems I'm too late. Well what can I say, my mind starts to go... I'd say somewhere around four in the morning...
Sorry all.

It's Time I Try
Posted 18 years agoIt's been a while since I tried to sketch/Draw anything. Part of the reason was that it hurt too much to hold the pencil in place for long. It seems I either cracked or broke something in my hand, I can still feel something grinding around in there but... What can I do but go on? This is also why I havn't been very talkative online... The other reason is that I either lost my muse or my patience altogether, I'll turn THAT around soon... Just thought you would like to know.
I was Tagged...
Posted 18 years agoYep, one of those few times I was tagged... 6 wierd habits/things/hates about myself.
1. I am one of those that stands on the outskirts in his flannel shirts, (really) baggy jeans, and boots trying to get people to leave me alone and halfway enjoying being the outcast
2. I am sometimes disgustingly (but not usually painfully) flexible...
3. I find that this is true for me; It is much easier for me to read someones face than it is for me to try to understand what they are trying to say.
4. I like reading better than I do watching TV ( shocking, I know) because if being oblivious to what is going on around me is the price of not being depressed... (shrugs) then I'm good.
5. I hate talking. I'd much rather listen.
6. I hate that I am always prepared for anything coming my way, it gets boring being able to step out of the way of everything, so I sometimes stand my ground. Just to see what will happen. ( I often get in plenty of trouble for it too)

Posted 19 years agoLol. Managed to make it through this birthday in one piece. Got a CD and 30 bucks. yippy! Am now at my dad's house for the weekend and, dunno for sure, but I think that he forgot about my birthday again. Oh well... Can't be dissappointed if you don't expect anything. Have not been able to concentrate lately, part of it might be because of one of the classes I am taking. Strength Training, Lol I am box squatting nearly 500 lbs. And it is killing my back! The guy in charge says that the first 4 weeks of this semester are the easy days, and I'm already dying...

Posted 19 years agoWell... My birthday is also coming up soon, on the 17th of January to be exact. And I am stuck with little knowledge as to what is coming up. I DO know that when it comes, I will be forced to face all those people back home and put up with their attempts to talk to me. Things will be speeding up for me to the point where I don't know when the next time I will be able to get online will be. Over all my birthdays are usually hell on earth for me, yet they are always bearable. And once every few years or so I get something that I actually can and will use, like gloves or some books or sketch supplies (which is a pluss!) Anywho. I have been working on several sketches and am hoping to get done with them soon, that way I can post them.

Posted 19 years agoOKay. To put it simply, went to an X-Box party, played Halo II for damn near 24 hours straight with about 40 people or so who were amazed I could play for so long, may have come down with something (or maybe it's all the crap I had to drink, the caffein from mountain dew, energy drinks and... stuff) and feel like shit, (wonder why lol) but had a blast and would do it again any time given the chance. That is why I have not been on for a while. Just now getting my head to stop spinning, and am begining to be able to concentrate again. Planning to get an X-Box 360 soon, so I can Play gears of war, Halo II, Halo III, and such, anybody got any other games they would recommend?
Finally Able to Submit!
Posted 19 years agoI finally got the Scanner to cooperate and am beginning to post my pics. Hope you enjoy.
