2020 Update
General | Posted 5 years agoSo it's been a while, I think the last journal I posted I pointed out that my graphics tablet had died and I was saving up for a new one. So let's get to answering stuff:
Why haven't you made any new art?
Well 2 reasons, the simple one is I haven't had enough time. Around life stuff happening, a few medical reasons and my work ramping up considerably, I just haven't found the time to get down and do work on art, as it isn't something that is that relaxing to me (it's more work).
And.... well I've still not bought a new tablet... because of the next reason.
Why aren't you getting more commissions?
Money is much tighter, though this time for a good reason. I bought a flat (well half of one on a government scheme but basically I own it). At the moment a lot of that money has gone towards essentials, like carpet, wardrobes, fridge etc. While I'm still getting the occasional piece, tis just very slow.
Can I buy/have X Character?
A few people have asked about this since neither myself or anyone I've commissioned has drawn a lot of my characters in a while. Basically no, almost all the characters I have are personal or based on close friends, so it wouldn't feel right.
So what HAVE you been doing?
Well work, which has recently involved the launch of one of the biggest games I've worked on, along with general support for the company getting much bigger, and trying to take care of myself in a few ways, increase in working out, resting, etc. Basically nothing too interesting, but I've needed it.
Really not much else to tell from this end, but expect this account to continue to be quiet for a year or so more.

Where is the art? (Update)

So a little update from my end, those who saw my last upload will note that it took me 9 months, somewhat unacceptable but sadly that was all the free time I had. This issue has sadly now also been made worse by the fact my 10 year old tablet has sadly died. Repair work will cost almost as much as a new tablet so I'm going to be looking to save up for that.
Some other people may also be noticing that, even though I may not be arting as much, even the amount of commissions with my characters in has slowed down considerably. While Brexit is in part to blame due to the plummeting pound, the bigger reason is the amount of commissions that were paid for and simply never done.
What makes this worse is that a large volume of these commissions were from people whom I had trusted and previously done commissions with no issues, so it felt like a rather large stab in the back.
So yeah I'm being a lot more limited on that front as well.
So please expect this account to be very quiet for a while. I am sorry but sadly these things happen.

8 Facts about Urthy (Mostly the human one but some facts cover both)
1) Her actual name is Shadra Urtheart
2) Her left hand is robotic, it isn't a gauntlet, the circuits plug straight into her nervous system (but it can be removed safely)
3) She has a deadric/demonic curse which causes any magic that isn't dark elemental magic to go a little screwy. Common examples include trying to cast light magic usually setting her hand on fire, and offensive magic backfiring (usually of a different element).
4) She inherited the same sword that Urtheart used, Redemption. When she first gets it, the sword is about 15,000 years old.
5) While she doesn't know it, she is actually an altered clone of Urtheart, she believes him to simply be her adopted father (and calls him gramps). This also means she doesn't age very quickly.
6) She is a massive fan of Board Games, Strategic RPGs, and fiction about demons and netherworlds. She likes to roleplay as an Overlord.
7) Despite growing up and living on a pirate ship for a large portion of her life, she can't swim, but she can hold her breath for quite a long time.
8) Her biggest fear is zombies, this fear is usually met with throwing large volumes of dark energy balls or random hacking.
