Account Move
Posted 18 years agoI'm starting fresh, getting a new name.
I'll leave my art on this account, finish those sketches from the last gallery, and move out.
If you want to know the name I will respond to notes.
Sorry for the inconvenience, everyone. Have a good evening!

Free shitty sketches
Posted 18 years agoI'm observing a gallery for six more hours, and have my tablet with me. Who wants a crappy-ass drawing? :D
EDIT: Give me a reference, please. :P
Okay, I'm about half way done. I'm gonna close this now and finish those left. Thanks to all who wanted free, sloppy art!

Youd don't know this, yet.
Posted 18 years agoHow do you print adult content?
Posted 18 years agoI was thinking… do you artists just go into Kinko's with your digital image of a fox forking a wolf and say, "Two color prints of that on eggshell card stock, please,"? How does one take explicit content to a print shop?!
Also… funny I should mention cardstock. I'm looking at doing prints of "Sea Rat Final" on some cardstock, and was wondering if anyone would buy a print. (I think it's the most popular image in my gallery).
If there's any furry pic in my gallery someone wants, let's talk it over. I'll get a print of it and send it to you for cheap. As long as I can make a dollar profit or something I don't care. :P

I Have No Idea How Appropriate This Is
Posted 18 years agoBut I wanted to ask anyway.
If I watch you here it means one (or more) of the following things:
• Your subject matter actually makes anthro art cool (somehow) xD
• I admire your discipline over your chosen medium, and know I could learn from you
• I'm shallow and love a consistent type of subject matter (like hawt yiff! lawl).
Actually, I can't think of any for the last one, but here's my questions:
Looking at my gallery, how could I improve my art-whatever? I can think of a million and one things, but nothing beats hearing it from someone you love online <3
Also, I met two other furries on campus today. One of 'em was drawing Yaoi.
Gotta love life outside of a private school. :D

Legitimate Question About Members of the Furry Fandom
Posted 18 years agoI saw a furry at Kent Stark today. The guy had a bright blue and green tail tucked into his HUGE black Hot Topic pants.
I was thinking of the stereotypes I'd associate with furries. Things like interests in techno or videogames, or more consistently, the similarity in dress. I've seen hundreds of pictures of furries posted online, and quite a few of them are wearing trench coats or those studded, strapped Hot Topic pants complete with all the bells and whistles.
Here's my question: Do you dress in a similar fashion? (My Hot Topic collection is limited to a Zelda and Metroid tee-shirt I bought in tenth grade, so I don't fit the bill.)

Welcome to Columbus
Posted 18 years agoI'm visiting one of my friends in Columbus right now. Pretty fun city, pretty gay city. Lots of stuff to do, especially for someone who has yet to explore it.
I found out I won Seely's character contest! I already brought in my request for the closest thing I'd say I have to a "fursona", even though the whole thing is a bit of a joke. Let's be honest: how many beetles with fishnets have you seen in the fandom? That's what I thought.
If you want to note me on something I won't be too far from an internet connection. I'll try to draw while I'm here, though. See you round later!

Musical Recommendations
Posted 18 years agoAs it runs out, I've found many a good artist by recommendations on FA. I wanted to return the favour. I recently bought two albums I'm very happy with:
Singularity by Mae
I've been in love with Mae since three years ago, when I first heard the album The Everglow. If you're like me, you want a track recommendation for Singularity that I think is good enough to prove their worth. I'd point you to the song "Rocket". Playing it gives you a pretty good idea of their instrumentation, harmony, and writing style.
Have Mercy by The Mooney Suzuki
I wish more rock bands tried as hard as these guys. They have a brilliance and wealth in their music I'd prompt any rock fan to add to their library. Check out the first track on Have Mercy (99%) if you wish to get hooked.
Have a song that inspires you? One that breaks your artists blocks? Perhaps an all time favourite artist? Tell me what you like and why!

Recent News
Posted 18 years agoLast week I was opening up Cinnabon. A sex offender was trounced and handcuffed in the food court.
I'm going to visit friends in Columbus the 22nd through the 24th. I'll show you all my real fursona then. It's really "cool".
Yesterday I had to work there from 7AM to 7PM when two coworkers couldn't make it, and my other coworkers weren't answering their phones.
This week I (apparently) annoyed my manager, and he never returned from his break today. It wasn't my fault, as the man is 84, and confused, and very… old. I asked him if he would tell us when he's leaving the store next time, as to help us know when to schedule breaks or clock out of our shifts. He But I got my paycheck today, so it's all good.
On the way home I learned that one of my friends is actually a billionaire and married with two children.
…
Also, I'm almost done with
sevanen's sketch. Lineart's coming along swimmingly.
Now what's going on in your lives?

My New Favourite Game
Posted 18 years ago…is definitely Odin Sphere. The artistic drive will blow your mind, whether through the thousands of detailed sprites or the amazing soundtrack. For some reason the art and music reminds me of some sort of nice idea hidden away in my earliest memories.
Here's a sample of the soundtrack if you're interested.

Your Opinion, Please.
Posted 18 years agoPlease be honest with me. Would you buy art from me? If not, tell me what I could do to change that.
I've been throwing around the idea of doing commissions for some time, but I have a few things that'd get in the way:
-Need to unfreeze my Paypal account
-I have no idea if anyone would buy my art any way.
-I don't think I'd have enough attention to ask (I feel like I haven't given you guys enough to warrant your interest on the subject)
-I wouldn't draw anything that I thought would be used for wrong. (I could do tasteful nudity, but I'd never draw yiff, or even same sex couples affectionately petting each other, because… well… you probably know my thoughts on homosexuality).
In closing thanks to everyone that favourited and watched my stuff recently. I try to thank everyone; you're all very much appreciated. :3

Away for Vacation
Posted 18 years agoHey guys, I'll be off for vacation in Williamsburg until the 11th. I'll be downloading some refs for more anthro art. My tablet is coming with me. >:3
Enjoy your summers, and fill me in on what I missed when I get back! <3
EDIT:
Okay, It's Monday, and I'm typing this on a public hotel computer. I wasn't allowed to take my tablet or laptop. :(
That's okay. I drew more Samus, some Snake, and some more concepts for those free sketches.
I'll be back Wednesday for your viewing pleasure. >:3

What you missed
Posted 18 years agoI broke 50 watchers! Thanks to all of you that liked my stuff enough to follow me. :)
Hell yesssss! My nineteenth birthday was June 30th of 2007.
One of the best things on this green planet is growing one year older and not desiring presents. It's good that I have a few, but I didn't dwell on it. I'm so freaking content right now that it makes me uncomfortable to mention anything I may like for holidays or birthdays.
I was at Pittsburgh on the 29th through the 1st. I got to pick up a ton of Strawberry Pocky / Koala No Marche, I visited the Carnegie Museums, went ice skating, crashed a middle school girls' slumber party, visited relatives, saw a Dale Chihuly garden exhibit, went to a "freedom festival", visited with my real dad for three days, and even got a tiny bit of drawing in (Lol, Charizard!).
I did some cool stuff for my birthiversary. None of it was to celebrate my birthday, which is cool. I had the fortune of celebrating with good timing this year. Anyone can tell you Wholey's Fish Market on the Pittsburgh Strip is a good time, but you gotta be there in person or it just doesn't count!
Here's what I got, total:
• Some cash (probably totaling… $125?)
• Rez™ for PS2
• Flight 1—3 (on order via Borders)
• Teeshirts and a pair of cargo shorts
• $65 for iTunes
• $25 Best Buy gift certificate
• Several birthday wishes from friends
• My dad is an awesome artist, so I told him I wanted a sketchbook filled with sketches by him. I didn't want to pressure him, so he can get that done whenever.
—News about those freebie sketches—
I have those sketches to do still, so I apologize to the four waiting. I'm practicing drawing griffins, because three of the for sketches will have griffins in 'em! Haha, you weren't expecting that, were you?
Here's my plan: The three sketch rewards from my last journal will be interlinked: All three will be different points of view from different characters, with different colours, and will all be from the exact moment in time when a warrior find himself under siege from a plummeting demonic griffin. I'm excited about this to the core, so I really wanted to share it with you!

Those free sketches I promised...
Posted 18 years agoI'll do 'em, but you're not going to get them in a timely manner, I can say.
I started working on
sevanen's sketch first and got… carried away, I guess. ^^;
Here's the list of people getting some (lol, innuendo)
(lol, Queen)
Shadowmancer requested a Demonic Griffin
I'm excited about this one. Haven't done a griffin before, and I love drawing demonic subjects! <3
sevanen requested one of these guys: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/590119/
Here's what I have so far: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/603071/
crevanblackpaw I'm doing a fox, I guess. :P
Dimensionwolf She featured me on dA after I missed her deadline, so I'm returning the favor. She'll be receiving an anthro dragon.
If you have any questions or comments then now would be the time to give 'em!

Borked 1,000 pageviews!
Posted 18 years agoI did it, but not by myself. Thanks for helping me out, guys! I didn't want to hit refresh 1,000 times all by myself!
I'm feeling pretty good. First three watcher comments on this journal get a crappy sketch.

Music Art Challenge, Go!
Posted 18 years agoI swiped this from Shadowmancer a few minutes ago. You draw ten pictures in response to ten random songs in your iTunes library.
Here's a step-by-step guide of how you do it.
1. Open up your favorite music player of choice (Winamp, WMP, ITunes, whatever.)
2. Put all your music on your computer onto one playlist.
3. Set the playlist to randomize.
4. Open up notepad, or do it in a journal, or just somwhere you can type it down (even write down on paper first if you want) and put the numbers 1-10 in a list.
5. Start playing a song in the randomizing playlist. NO CHEATING. Whatever song is playing shall be your #1.
6. Either listen to the song fully then let it switch to the next song, or just click the next button on your player. Whatever song plays next is going to be your #2.
7. Repeat step 6 until you have all 10 slots filled.
8. Now that you have the list of ten songs put it up in your journal (if you haven't already.
9. Draw 10 pictures, each one based on one of the songs in your list of ten.
And it's as simple as that ;3 No cheating folks! Don't try and just pick your favorite songs. That'll defeat the purpose of drawing to a theme that you may not fully know (if you end up on a fav song, then that's fine.)"
1) A Day in the Life - Mae
2) Remix 8 - Masami Yone (Rhythm Tengoku Rip)
3) Ninja Rap (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) - Vanilla Ice (Oh my goodness) xD
4) Invincible - Muse
5) Drive In - Jon Brion (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind OST)
6) Bukowski - Modest Mouse (I never listen to them)
7) The Day We Set Sail - Tale Theo Niessink
8) This Will Never End - Blind Guardian
9) Weird Science (Facebook Edit) - James Zabiela (boring Techno. Woohoo.)
10) Scene Nine: Finally Free - Dream Theater (Narrative)
Some of those will be a bit harder to illustrate than others, but whatever. At the very least, I'm sure this'll contest anyone else for most varied list. We have Celtic, some 5-channel Electronic, Metal, Alternative Rock, Classic Rock, Regular Rock, Vanilla Ice "rap".
I'll be hitting this list up during Summer vacation, which starts the 26th of April. Gotta love college.
So, here's a tradition I've held since my dA journals: If you've read this far, then tell me your favourite part of today. Thanks. :3

"Liberals are such idiots."
Posted 18 years agoBefore you read: Dear Fur Affinity, I know it would kill 90% of you to read a journal and leave a comment, but I urge you to skim and share an opinion of yours with me. Awesome. Thanks. :D
One of my friends (Alex) said this [Subject Line] this evening. I've met enough liberals at my college to know this statement is obviously a generalization. After all, more of my friends would label themselves as liberal or libertarian than conservative.
Alex ranted about some funny conversations he had with members of his opposing party. The guy is definitely enlightened on government. I'm not in the know of politics enough to be as outspoken as he is on capitalism, communism, etc…, which makes me feel like crap. And I wish I was outspoken. Not being entirely informed or opinionated with reason on an important topic is a total kick to my morale. I'm getting there by trial, error, and the help of others. I have to rely on logic and know when to leave my personal feelings and horrible pseudo-Christian upbringing in the dust (read: most of the time).
Problem is, Alex's arguments against liberals and libertarians seemed sound. Too sound, even. I agree with most all of his ideas (we have similar personalities and histories), but I gotta think for a second. Am I heading back to the ignorant elitist phase I ended in seventh grade?
I'm so concerned about hurting the feelings of others that my opinions may get the back-burner in a conversation. Interacting on the internet is similar to me, too. I don't want to hurt someone with my words, but I'd love to start a conversation with 'em that'd help enlighten both me and them. That's what has made my college experience great so far. So give me something to help me know you better, okay? :3

Casual Update
Posted 18 years agoWoah, I submitted two works-in-progress and a picture and picked up ten watchers. Thanks for all the comments, favourites and watches! I hope I won't disappoint you guys later. ;3
I'm currently working to get some storyboards/colour comps done for a kids book (as a school assignment). That stars an anthro lizard kid, so I guess I could scan some concepts for it.
I'm also running on a cabinet for Student Government Office. I'm the VP of Student Development. I get to wear a tie and pretend that I want my opponents to do well. A little party was held for the three contesting cabinets. It was pretty awkward being in a room where rivalry and tensions are looming in the air. My ability to interpret nonverbal communication is now excellent. Ah, politics.
Anthro art is not a priority for me now. I'll just throw something out whenever I'm in the mood for something different. Until then, thanks for the feedback. I'll not neglect this account entirely, I promise. But I will say that my deviantArt account is often uploaded so my watchers will all check it out, since you're all just brimming with zeal about it. :P

Current State of Affairs
Posted 19 years agoCollege is picking up, finally. I'm really pressing my luck in one of my classes, and am currently not passing it. Art projects have become more frequent, but more enjoyable, a welcome change of pace from the monotonous, 9-ish hourlong projects of only a few weeks ago.
Decided to submit a Photoshop sketch. I feel bad that people are watching me and I haven't been submitting anything, and I apologize for that. Some of it is just the subject matter I draw (it's not appropriate for FA, really), some of it is my work schedules, and some of it is just laying low. I'm really skiddish about visiting here, since I'm not at a school that understands some of the content on here. Granted, I'm part of the "fandom" and I wouldn't put up with half of the nasty crap people support here anyway. I understand where personal fetishes lie, but it crosses over into things that get too creepy (diapers, pedophilia, vore), stuff that's too crazy and probably not very healthy for you anyway.
I'm gonna try browsing around here some time to find a few good clean artists. I imagine they don't get as much attention as those with yiff galleries, but it'd be better for me to hang out with the "good crowd anyway". It's also probably the only way I'll ever get any feedback, since FA has a very impersonal air about it. "Draw some stuff for me to oggle at, and get on with it," it feels like.
Well, on that note I'm heading off to bed, since I have a class in four hours (I suffer from mild insomnia4 1/2 hours is a full night's rest for me). I just got MSN messenger, so be sure to ask if you want to chat. I'd like nothing more than to hear about your day. :3

I Met a Radical Christian
Posted 19 years agoI met a radical Christian personally for the first time in my life, and the topic of homosexuality came up. (We'll call the guy Morgan)
On top of learning a few verses in the Bible that you cannot context around the ban on homosexuality, I learned that Morgan, someone in my residence halls, hates gay people. I had to ask him over and over if he was serious when he said he would shoot one in the face just for being gay.
Not only did this character scare me sh!tless, but he also intrigued me. I took the opportunity to learn why he felt that way, and was surprised to hear, "They're dedicating their lives to being gay. Their hearts are hardened, so why bother?"
I asked him how he changed, and was worthy of an alternate, like love, "I was raised in the church. I didn't have to change."
I had to explain to Morgan that people raised in churches (like I) often witness the hypocrasy Church can be riddled with, and go against their faith-grain. I then explained that it is our job to love all others. I basically exposed him to some new ideas, and I can only hope he's rethinking his doctrine now.
The greatest problem he and a twenty-something friend had was understanding that they aren't ay better than someone who practices homosexuality, and that sinners are equal. Well, we don't need to sin anymore, but we were still all born into sin. The two guys couldn't have aggreed with me less. I felt sorry for them. But I'm sure I'll break through to them before the semester is over.
Oh, yeah: college has been an awesome experience. I'm obviously meeting many colourful personalities here, and am just in love with the campus and atmosphere. I've also grown some incredible friendships that are exceptional, and isn't that what college is all about?
But hey, tell me how you're doing. Let's shoot the breeze sometime.

Yeah, I deleted those two submissions.
Posted 19 years agoI know a few people favourited them. I feel as if I'm slapping you (collectively) in the face, but it's something I had to do. I'm pretty sure I initially drew them (and others I never uploaded ¬.¬) because I had some sort of repressed whatever going on. So... screw it. I'm done pulling crap like that. Any art I'm doing from now on is clean.
I was planning on apologizing to the other FA users until I realized: I'm not doing anything wrong! If anything, I'm doing you a favour by giving you less crap to intake. I will, however, apologize for initially uploading them.
I decided to stop because I was viewing stuff like that as "not a big deal". It was foolish to assume anything I know to be morally deprived as such, and I apologize for that too.
PM me if you wanna talk over AIM. I'm usually on invisible status, so drop a message, even if it looks like I'm not there, I just may be!

I'm going to college tomorrow night.
Posted 19 years agoI won't be able to visit this site, or post any art within that time. I should be back sometime in October.
That's all for now. I need to pack, but feel free to message me. I'm a huge fan of feedback! :3
