I'm just on a family trip right now, and I have my final exam to study for when I return home.

Two weeks. THEN I can get rolling on art stuff again.

Only two weeks left untill I take my final exam. Hopefully, I'll pass it on my first try and I never have to come back to this silly building.

As soon as it's all over, I can start working on projects again. Three months has definitely given me a lot to catch up on.

One of these projects is the story behind the vaeu as a species. A super great friend of mine has given me some really cool ideas, and I'm excited to breathe some life into these lopes.

Can't spoil too much, as I'll be releasing finished info snippets in the descriptions of any drawings I do for the universe, BUT.... I can say this...

Vaeu are naturally Quadrupedal. Any Anthro vaeu, are actually synthetic in nature and are "piloted" by a natural vaeu, via a technologically assisted telepathic link.

I can't say how they aquired this tech. But it's cool, and it really works with the story now.

I've had people tell me it's super dumb for a feral form deerb to exist in a sci-fi setting, because they don't have hands to manipulate things, to create advanced tools...

But now I have a reason for why they can. They built anthro body's to use as tools for societal progress.

This is gonna be really cool : )

So, I recently picked up an apple pencil, and a coppy of procreate, for my Ipad, which is pretty much the best decision I have ever made. I love the hell outa that program! I don’t think I can ever go back to using a wacom digitizer tablet.

I’m going to try to draw more often. I feel like Ive been letting people down... some how.

That being said, I AM working ten hour days, and will soon be going to my final year of electrical schooling. I don’t get a ton of time. And what time I DO have, I’m normally too exausted to do anything real.

I owe a close friend a story that I was supposed to write, but havnt gotten around to, and I also have a stack of projects I need to do, for my life outside of the fandom

But I promise. I Will get to doing cool stuff again.

And maybe one day I can propperly express myself with art.

I am house sitting this month. Living by my self in a friends house while he is away. This offers a ton of freedom. A decent amount of which, I am spending on building this coolio project that will be posted on FA.

I had wanted to do something cool to commemorate the big 100, but Alas, I am still bogged down by my two big projects. I also took on something of a writing project recently, which should be super fun, and a doodle of a close friends fursona, which I am working on, when I have time.

I'm slowly working on a couple semi big projects. One I'll post on FA only, cuz it's pretty NSFW, and super secret. And the other is a new ref sheet for the vaeu as a species. I'm fixing a few things that bother me, now that I care slightly more about anatomy, as well as maybe doing a few more tweaks? Ive been calling the vaeu, "alien" but they... look... pretty basic and earth normal on the outside. Although their lore for how they work on the inside is pretty interesting (if I may say so myself), they aren't super fancy, as far as a made up species goes.

Maybe I'll do something cool? Maybe I'll just dabble with experiments, but ultimately leave their cannon form the way it is? I've thought about really selling "otherworldly"by giving them cool antennae or bio luminescence or something. Or perhaps I'll just draw up some concepts for different subspecies of vaeu, like a floofy one or something. But currently, "hairless antelope with a thick tail, nubby things, and really long ears, is sorta cool I guess?


I also really need to make a proper world for them. I'm still really unsure of how I want them to live, the things they do. What do I want to say? Are they just escapism for me? Or should I try to express something? I really like writing, and want to throw some emotions at them, but it's easy to just draw meaningless doodles that look ok.

and on that note, I AM slowly trying to get better at the doodles. Vember helped a lot, I think. I learned from a ton of mistakes. Now I just gotta keep on drawing.

Ive been thinking... about a few things...

Should I give the vaeu a better species name? I mean, I just picked four letters that sounded cute to spell out. “Vee ayy eee yoo” “vae-oo”, which can also be said as “voh”. But when you google vaeu, you get a bunch of things from other languages and stuff. I guess vaeu is actually a real word. Or at least, part of one.

Having my profile be hard to find by googling “vaeu” has been useful for avoidig contact with normies, but... I feel like the species deserves a better name. Or, it will, when I’m done designing them. They are close to where I want them, but like any sona species, I suppose they are open for change, as I myself change as a person.

Another thing, Ive really been strugling with where I want to go with my art. I’m realy torn between wanting to draw cute innocent things, and wanting to really get into lewd stuff.

Can you do lewds, while still maintaining a public facade of innocence? Not that I’m trying to get famous or anything, but... a lot of furries, and specifically, the suiters I really like on twitter, all have an extremely innocent face to them.

Fursuiting aside, art alone, I know that a lot of people have multiple accounts for safe and lewd art, so people can show their normie friends your safe art and say “look how cool this stuff is” without any dirt getting in the way. But that sounds like... literally double the work, any time you want to post anything in both places. Three websites turns into six accounts.

Should I turn my back to the lewd scene all together? On the off chance that I ever try to become more recognizable? Or do you think I can draw deerbs with dicks and still seem okay?

Ive been thinking more and more about ideas for if I ever got into fursuiting. I really like the idea, and I love a bunch of the stuff that a handful of fursuiters do for the comunity. I think if I ever got the chance, I’d love to try it.

How would it look for me to suit as a cute innocent creature thing, if I developed a background in tentacle porn?

I’ll be honest. It’s the porn things that first really drew me to the fandom. I first saw furry porn while I was in grade five... before we even had proper sex ed class in school. The lewds are how I got interested, but what really kept me coming back is the wholesome stuff you see. Regardless of what my faves list may look like, I really do love the slice of life things. Escapism stuff like the work of Rick Griffin with “A&H club”

So while I like the lewds, and would love to explore more of the dirty ideas in my mind, through art, I am conflicted.

I want to learn to draw hot sexy things. But I also really like the idea of becoming an artist eventually, that exclusively draws cute innocent things that you could show your mother.
