This update has a little bit of a good and quite a bit of bad news in it. If you only wish to be updated on commissions, please find the bold title with Commissions along the list for your update.

This week has not been an easy one to say the least and this year has been full of week’s like this.

Jessie
Jessie, my uncle to be and the love of my Aunt’s life, passed Tuesday the 20th after suffering a second heart attack within a month. He was only 46 and unfortunately his heart was too weak to keep his blood pumping. Even with life support, he only lasted a few hours.

My sister and I were there with our Aunt when this happened. I didn’t know Jessie as well as I would have liked but seeing my Aunt go through this was heartbreaking. I know how it is to lose people you love but I could only imagine the pain she is going through watching him like that…

Sister
I had mentioned previously that there was going to be something I announced that wasn’t the greatest of news and since the events that have passed this week, my sister figured it would be best to come out with it sooner than later.

My little sister suffers from a Thyroid problem and though fluctuating can happen, it's been between both hypo and hyper which she shouldn’t even be showing signs for hyper.

We’ve been checking things off the list of possibilities getting tests and lab work done but the list is shortening to the point we expected it to get, where it might be Cancer. Since we’ve had family members going through with it its a higher possibility.

It's something we’ve been preparing for in the least. She will have to go through some heavy treatments regardless if it’s officially Cancer or not. In the midst of everything that's happened in the past month it's been exhausting to keep up with this along with everything else. She’s feeling it more physically since her thyroid has been hurting for so long.
Her and I have some game plans its just hard when your trying to let your mother heal and comfort those who are grieving on top of a full time job.

Mom
Though things haven’t been so great, Mom has been doing better these past two weeks. She was moved to a Rehab Facility and is walking better than I’ve seen her walk in a long time. Her Bypass has proven how much she needed flow back to her feet and I look forward to having her right leg done; seeing her move about even more.

Though I do, I hope they schedule it for a future date because she wants to come out of there for a little bit. After being in the hospital for a month I think she deserves some time away from being poked and prodded all hours of the night.

Commissions
Commissions are still underway, I am keeping my schedule as best as I can however there may be a week extend on a few pieces and I will message those people promptly.

With everything that's going on I am still keeping Emergency Commissions open at least for another week before closing them. I will be posting some YCH’s soon and an Adopt in hopes to bring in some more cash but that is the plan for now outside of commissions.

Mom Update:
First of all, Mom is doing well! They went through with the bypass surgery for her left leg. Due to previous heart surgery they didn’t go in for both legs at the same time. So she will be scheduled for a second bypass in the right leg followed by another toe amputation.

She is in some pain, but the pulses in her foot now are strong. I hope the recovery with bed rest will have healed this foot in its majority then we can work on the second. Till then, she will still be in the hospital.

During all of this they had discovered she has Osteomyelitis; in short, Bone infection. She isn’t showing the major signs of infection other than redness in her feet so I believe they caught it early enough. Antibiotics will be the treatment and removal of that second toe.

I’m worried about her but staying strong. She was there for me back when my appendix ruptured in HighSchool and I will see to it till she get walking on her own again.

Other news:
There are some other stresses occurring as well but things I wont get into in depth. I know thats sounds vague but I want to let you all know that something else is up and to be prepared for news in the future.

Aside from those things, I am offering some commissions still to get through till next paycheck. Mainly for gas, food, and things for Mom. I will post another Journal with more information about that.

As some of you might already know, my mother has been back and forth to the hospital for several months now due to a wound on her toe. Eventually it lead to her having the toe amputated altogether. It's not uncommon for diabetics to lose toes. Now, however, she is back in the hospital with wounds on each foot with barely any blood flow to her feet.

There were mentions of a bypass surgery that will allow flow to the feet but options are floating around the air while she’s having tests done. We’re hoping today we might get a game plan from the doctors but till then my sister and I have been going over there when we can.

I am still around working on Commissions. Things set in stone until further notice so procession will come accordingly. Replies are a little slow, I haven’t been getting to then till late in the day so if you haven’t gotten one yet, don’t fret!


This being said, I will likely have to open a small set of commissions. After rent, going back and forth to the hospital, my car needing an oil change, and still needing groceries, I won't have enough to last till my next paycheck. I’ve been planning to open this set of commissions for a while now but I didn’t want to do it so soon. I will make another Journal or post (or both) with more info about that.

It’s been stressful but I appreciate everyone who’s been sending well wishes her way and leading support. It means a lot to me, so thank you. I will keep you all updated when we hear anything new. Keep your fingers crossed that’s today!

I'm going to do an overhaul on all of my accounts. That means clean up and editing. Its going to take a while to get each finished but hopefully each site will be more clear, easier to understand, and you'll be able to find whatever your looking for.

I've been thinking about choices I can make. The thing about being independent and "freedom" to make your own choices is just that. You have control over your life and can decide whether or not you do something over another. Maybe both or none, that's the beauty of it. It can also be a curse, because if your like me, the possibilities are overwhelming.

It's why I enjoy the minimalist point of view on life. Minimizing what you have to maximize what you do. Conflict still comes along with that. I've lived in tiny spaces for the majority of my life and I really prefer to have room to breathe. Not to say thats bad, apartments are small, tiny living is popular, sometimes a room is enough. For me, having the space to work is what I want.

This comes back to the "choices" topic. That's a choice I've made. Not to live in a tiny space while also not filling that space with needless junk. The main reason I'm talking about this is that I'm at a point in my life where things are changing and I have some choices to make. Some that are easy for a few and hard for others, including me.

Physical limitations suck. As much as I hate to admit that I have them, or more so, that they stop me from doing normal things, it will always be apart of my life. I need to stop making decisions that hinder, and rather decisions that can help me do more for longer.

There's not much of a point to this. I'm out for the count for a while and when all you can do is just lay here, you have a lot of time to think about things. I want to do more with my life. I need to make choices better suited for my physical health.

Hello everyone!

It's been a very long time since I've been regularly active on FA. It was part of my goals to be better about keeping my art sites updated but with how the year has been my goals list has been set to the side till I had time again.

I've gotten back to somewhat of a schedule now, even though I've taken on more overtime at work again till my vacation in June I want to return to that goal again as well as the others on the list to accomplish this year.

I won't go into too much detail about what's all been happening throughout the last couple of months but If your interested you can check out my informal Business DA ArtisticPleasantries and my Personal DA Handshark. As one of the things that has changed is that I'm keeping my commissions separate from my personal art progression. I want to keep things cleaned up for when I share information with potential clients and jobs at least for now. I might do the same here but it will be unlikely until I can further my goals.

Life has gotten back to somewhat of a normal pace. I'm not taking as many trips home and I've gone through a lot of junk thats been weighing me down for the past 4 years. Doesn't seem like much hearing about it but its improved my mental health to get rid of things I don't use anymore.

My family is doing better now too with a few ups and downs. Only issue thats been persistent over the past year and a half has been my mother fighting an infection on her toe. She is diabetic so it's harder for her to fight off infections. It finally came down to having the toe removed after she was put in the hospital for the 3rd time. She is out and recovering now, making stupid puns about her missing toe. She has my older sister, her family and my aunt living with her to help her with anything she needs. Though I have faith she can handle things I know it's been a good distraction since Dad isn't there.

I haven't got much more to say right now. I haven't had time to get stuff rolling. Commissions have come to a grindingly slow pace and I've had to go through and refund a few because It was hurting my mental health to try and convince myself to keep trying. After I finally finish them I will take a long break from them. Doing only adopts and YCH's for a while. I want to get back to making progress with my comics and re-tackle how I've been managing things.

A weird patch work of an update :v I will have more organized ones in the future but this is it for now. Thank you to everyone who has been supportive during the time of February. I really appreciate everyone who has been sending messages and comments. It means a great deal to see people still care so much even when I'm hardly around. Thank you.

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I last got the chance to talk.

I want you all to know I am doing well, getting over a sinus infection and finally able to breathe again, as much as one can with a slightly stuffy nose.

Everything has been done by my previous plans that were to occured at the end of February. Storage unit is completely cleared and yay! One less bill, check mark. Last week was the full week of worked I had to do. However that's when I got sick and I missed a day and a half of it. Still I worked the ending of the week and will be working tomorrow as well. Checkmark.

Commissions however are not checked off like I’d liked them to have been but with everything that's happened, and with how open and understanding as everyone one has been, its okay. Thank you to all who have been so supportive, even to today. This marks the one month its been since my father’s passing.

I have my moments when his memory comes on strong and I can’t help but reminisce about the times we shared. It hit me the most on my way home to get my storage unit finished, driving through the gorge, through the mountain and passed the river where I went rafting for the first time. He followed our group and waited at each stop to take a picture and tell us all about how cool we look.

Even though I fell out of the raft at the end and missed fireworks on the 4th of July. I loved those moments. We did a lot in ours years together. We explored, had adventures, made friends out of strangers and enjoyed culture through foods. I realized I don’t give time to things like that anymore and I realized it’s not right.

I told myself I need to change that, and that's what I plan on doing. Nothing that will happen all at once but saying it out loud holds me accountable.

That also means I need to finish things I start and commissions are going to be finished. I’ll be going back to my regular schedule next week and will be starting back commissions then since I will be getting my graphics tablet fixed this weekend. The calibration has been off and drivers need to be re-programmed in.

This is an update on things to come in the following week.

I first would like to take a moment and thank everyone for their messages, comments, and notes of condolences during the week. All of you are so supportive and willing to lend an ear whenever. Its hard to find the words to show appreciation during this time but I want everyone to know I am thankful for all of it.

Commissions will continued be on hold till next Thursday the 14th. I will still be around but most likely to check on messages when I can. I will be working on some commissions but only to detract myself when I need it. The majority of my time will be spend with family but please don't hesitate to message or ask things in the mean time. I will get back to you as soon as I am able.

It's been a rough couple of days. Now that I'm not at work I know it will be even harder..to go home and not see my father there...I know in the end he is in a better place and didn't have to go through the hassle of chemo treatment. I like to think he's happily walking around again playing with the family dog. I'm gonna miss though...

I am not good at talking about this stuff, emotions are hard but its good to feel. Even in loss we celebrate the life of someone who impacted us.

My sister and I received news that our father passed away this afternoon.
Everything will be put on hold for a while. I will update again when we get things figured out but Commissions are on hold till further notice.

This is going to be a bit of an update so bare with me.

Tooth News:
As some of you have seen from my status updates and on Discord I have a bad tooth. It became abscessed Monday, or at least that's when it started swelling. I went to the dentist this past Tuesday and am currently taking antibiotics to get it removed next Thursday the 31st.

That means I most likely won't be able to work on commissions that day. I’m not sure how it will go but I will follow up on that in the Commissions section on this update. As of now I am better than I was. Though still feel like someone has knocked me in the teeth due to the infection. I will get better as the days progress with the antibiotic. I’m only taking over the counter pain medication to so if I am snippy or have been snippy with anyone I apologize. I was in a lot of pain.

Commissions:
I will continue to work on commissions as normal to the best of my ability but rest when I need too. This means there will be reschedule of commission times and I will let everyone know as soon as possible. When it comes to the 31st I will gauge closer if anything changes but will assume I will not be working this day at all on commissions. I will make sure the rearrangement of schedules will include this day off from commissions.

In other news I will be away the last two weeks in February. I am heading back home for a few days the 21st through the 23rd. On top of this, the following week, the 25th through the 1st I will be working over time. We have people going on vacation and currently in the market for hiring someone new. This might change but I have volunteered as tribute QwQ

That being said though, I will have the possibility of leaving work early that week so I may be able to make up commission time. The schedule is not definite but I wanted to give everyone a heads up!

Personal:
This update is the hard part.
My father has just been diagnosed with Lung Cancer.

Were not sure how bad it is yet, and if I’m honest, I can’t remember the type. You hear these things and kind of stop functioning after. All we know it is caused by smoking and he’s been smoking for 50 years now.

We will know more about it in February when my parents visit the specialist. I know this will affect work and commissions at some point. The when -- I’m not sure, but I will keep you all updated as much as I can. Before anyone says it, I want to work on my commissions, something to past the time is better than to dwell on the if’s to come.

I’m not sure what else to say about it, it's hard to know what to say when these things happen.

Update time! It’s been a hectic few weeks and is only going to get crazier. But this time with added holiday jazz to it.

Updates on commissions are coming. Somethings have changed for certain commissions due to the duration of time. I want to let everyone else know if you'd like something changed your commissions/image, your more than welcomed to make the changes. I know things become different over time, you don’t feel as strong for a character or your no longer using them; it was a gift for someone you no longer talk to, etc. I am willing to work with additions and subtractions for most images. Just shoot me a message or reply to the update message coming this week.

I want to also what to let you know why things have been late this past month. Work gets crazier closer to holidays and being on the tail end of the year it is going to be more so. I worked this past Thanksgiving. The week was full of surprises and not a lot of sleep.

Along with this, my sister's dog caught a violent virus. It gave us one hell of a fright last Monday after work. I won't get into too much details, it wasn’t pretty and the poor babe’s stomach was the punching bag. It was one very long night at the Vet ER. Good news is that he has made a grand recovery and is getting progressively better by the day. He is finally back to playing with toys again last night which made the both my sister and I cry.

Rossko

Even though it's unfortunate he’d gotten this virus, we were able to get him in for some proper care to address some underlying things he’s been dealing with for a while. We are able to tackle them now and make he doesn’t get sick like this again. After so many visits it's nice to get something useful.

It never hurts to get a second option, especially about the health of a loved one. Even an animal. I’ll keep you all updated on the rest of his recovery, even though in this^ image he isn’t very happy, but that's just the antlers.

Since the holiday has passed and Rossko is getting better I am going to get back on track with commissions. Emails/ Messages are still coming and I apologize for the wait of everything. Week of Christmas is going to be the next insane roller coaster for work but I will let you all know closer to time. That will be a week I won't work on any commissions.

Heads up to everyone, my internet has been out! We finally have Florence, which is a Tropical storm now, but its causing a lot of outages. I'll be back up to posting as soon as the weather calms down.

Starting tomorrow I will be going on 13 hour shifts Monday thru Wednesday then half day during the evenings on Sunday. This week is my Saturday rotation so that half day will be on Saturday instead of Sunday. That means I will have up to three days off in a row and it should regulate commissions again.

I am almost finish with first column list on Trello and by this coming weekend, I should be four commissions into the “Current Commissions List”. By October I should be caught up with everyone’s commissions before I start the waitlist.

I will have a YCH coming up, two if everything seems well but I will make another post about that closer to the end of September.

If you read my last Journal, which you can find here, my Dad is finally leaving the care center at the hospital to go home this Monday. I will be helping my mother tomorrow in getting him ready for home which leaves this weekend with little done for commissions...

I will also be going back home this following weekend too, to clear more of my storage unit and possibly the next so I can have one less bill to deal with. I make day trips of these but it will still be cutting into commission work time -- which is any free time I can get my hands on

I will be working the upcoming holiday since we have the day off to catch up for the half days I’ll be losing due to the Storage Clearing but that won't be till the Monday after next.

In regards to Commissions:

You all have been patient with me throughout this and again I want to say how much I appreciate all of the caring support you have given.

This week everyone who has gotten a commission is behind scheduled time. It will likely be like this for the coming month. I want to set a goal but so many times it’s been wiped over due to everything that's popped up.

I have decided to attack the queue in a different way while I wait for the schedule change form work. I will be finishing commissions by columns/lists on Trello working my way from left to right. So from Sales to [u]Trade[/]. I am thinking that a column with take a week or less to finish until I get to Current Commissions List or bundles with in the Lists but we will see how this goes.

I am expressing this because I want everyone to know the plan and how to read the commission's verses the labels on Trello; which I will likely remove to help with confusion.

After the board has been cleared I’ve decided [b]I won't be opening commissions again[b]. I will hold YCH, Adopts, and some small slots for commissions here and there but I will not open them again for a long while. I need to get back to my life, organize for my comic’s, and just breathe.

I want to improve my timing and handling of commissions before tackling them again too while working this job. I will still keep things available for those who have received compensation coupons/gifts and those on the waitlist. This is only to those selected and the waitlist but I will not take them on till the majority of commissions on Trello are finished.

After a full summer of chaotic events lining up one after another my father is finally getting to go home. I am nervous, worried about how things will re-adjust, but over all happy that he’s going to go back to something that resembles normal. At least be able to see his grand-kids and friends again. It’s a relief for everyone especially my mother who’s taken this the hardest.

That being said I will be helping her tomorrow with arrangements and getting him gathered up to go back Monday. I won't be available most of the day Sunday but should be back later in the day with an update. Wish us luck but him the most.

The past week has been crazy. I won't go into too much details since a lot of it involves personal issues of family and friends but things are being worked out. Just a lot of unexpected and going with whatever was happening.

This next week will start to settle for the most part. My mother has been staying with us for the duration my father has been in the hospital. He is still in the hospital but is recovering. He is in his early 70’s so bouncing back takes a lot more time. Due to issues back in my hom, my mother will be heading back until my father is released.

Though I don’t mind my mother being here, as she has been a great help, I know I will settle down a bit not worrying as much about what she needs. I’m a big worry wort.

Thankfully work has started to pick up again. My plan to finish everything is still underway with only the backtrack of this past week. I am currently sick too, which made things slower. I am wanting to finish things quickly but with the amount of everything I have to remind myself It won't get done overnight.

Gotta just be thankful for the things you accomplish before worrying about the things you will.

In other news, I have put in for a schedule change that will allow me to keep my hours but give me more time to work on my art. I’m going to try this out in hopes the change will give more produce to working on commissions. To actually finishing a commission rather than putting time on it.

Work has had its busy days then the days where it was so slow we were let off early and that doesn't work well on the bills nor the things I need to save up for. Like pants, a bed, cat's blood work, new tires, and a vacation.

So I am reassessing commissions. I've been doing well with my list and though some people have yet to be contacted, I am pumping them out at a reasonable rate. I'v e decided that I won't be taking a break and am opening up my Commissions with the last sale at the prices they are currently at. I will give myself till I've finished a good portion of my current commissions before they are open.

Time is just something I can't afford to waste right now. I won't be doing this till I'm bare knuckles either. I'll be taking breaks, so there will be days where I'll be taking some time. Its just better this way till something picks up at work.

You all have be wonderful and patient with me throughout this. Keep your fingers crossed work picks up or people come in for the new commissions! I am a stress noodle at the moment but things will be okay. I just need to flop right now. Or a hug. Both are good.
