Happy post-holidays, folks. Things were crazy around here, my in-laws were visiting us for a whole month and between that and the holidays themselves, we had a great time but ended up kinda wiping our funds for the moment, so things are a little tight.

Man I'm terrible at journaling. Used to be better, but now I just don't THINK about it.

So this is an update, to get things on a general track.

I got a new tablet for xmas and it has made my art life so much better aauuughh

As far as Patreon goes:

-I've been slacking on updates there lately due to IRL stuff being finagled with (the holidays especially wiped my brain out)
-I've dismantled the tiers because I was having a hard time organizing things and getting enough momentum for it (Patrons keep getting declined/marked fraud so it's really throwing off the routine)

My Patreon is now basically a PWYW for all content. You can pledge as little as $1 and get all the goodies (obviously more is awesome but every little bit helps, so <33333)

For those who don't want to pledge but still want to toss some money my way here and there, I also have a Ko-fi . and believe me I drink a LOT of coffee these days.

I think that's just about it. I'm working on setting up more consistent streams and hopefully I'll be able to make more speedpaints and such as well. I'll try to be better about advertising when I'm streaming here, but if you want consistent updates you should either follow my Tumblr or jump on my Patreon.

I'm currently taking in two commissions, up to flat-color status (unless it's a headshot/bust, in which it will be shaded).

My Patreon has had some rough reward tiers added! They're subject to change over time but for now here they are. I hope to start implementing stuff starting next month (which is in just a couple days anyway).

SO. Life's been super busy, as to be expected with a baby rolling around the house. As such, I think once I finish my current queue of commissions, I may be done taking them except on whims and by request, if I feel up to it. I just don't have the time and energy to take blocks of them; I take too long because it's hard to spread my focus and time. I end up being slow, because when I do have time to draw I end up wanting to finish quick and/or personal things before the things I actually NEED to work on.

I want to branch out and put more work into things of my own design and creation/co-creation (alongside muh bestie . But in the absence of taking on official commissions as regularly as I've tried to do, I'll need support to be able to invest my energy fully and work on building things up as much as I can, creating new and more intensive things like the animatic/storyboard thing I just did for Soren and Voltas, more speedpaints (cuz I haven't made one in FOREVER) and other such things. I've always wanted to make a living, or at least somewhat of one, off my artwork and creative things, and while commissions have done well for me, it's just not something I can dedicate myself to in any structured manner anymore. The company my husband works for is closing the office he works in, and while he's being kept on as a remote position, it's definitely put us in a spot where any extra financial security we can attain is a welcome weight off our shoulders.

As a result, I'm going to put more effort into my Patreon . I'm gonna focus on my OC stuff mostly, ranging from the beastfolk and demons you see on here to some other side-project type things that are kind of in the works that I just don't have time to work on between everything else. I don't currently have tiers or rewards figured out yet (and with my only 2 patrons in different pledge brackets as it is, it'll take some figuring out) but if you want to support me and what I do, consider pledging even just 1 or 2 bucks, it would be super appreciated. Alternatively, if you don't want to subscribe to paying every month, if you want to throw a one-off donation at my Paypal that would also be awesome.

In the wake of not taking on more standard commissions I’m trying to get my Patreon (that I’ve had for ages but have hardly been able to really use) off the ground. Ultimately I would like to be able to get more regular income out of that and therefore not feel the need to bog myself down with too many commissions at once, especially since my time is more limited now and I would like to have the chance to work on things that would serve a broader purpose and audience.

However I am not sure what people would like to see, as far as rewards/incentives go.

I’m open to suggestions while I brainstorm on the matter, and in the meantime I’ve updated my page info with links to my Patreon and a more general Paypal.me link for anyone who wants to contribute but doesn’t necessarily want to “subscribe” or whatever.

I’m trying to make my art a more viable investment of my time and energy, and in doing so I hope to make higher-quality things overall, which I will enjoy making and hopefully you the audience will enjoy seeing more.

I've been curious about this lately, the idea of creating adoptables rather than taking on commissions for a bit.

What are you guys' thoughts? Would you be interested? What would you like to see offered?

I have one and have for a while, but I haven't really put a lot of focus on it. I'd kinda like to change that, but I'm not sure how.

So, for my followers, what would you like to see? What kinds of incentives would you like me to offer?

So far my ideas are:

~Early access to pics as I finish them? (I would not be making patron-exclusive art; I enjoy sharing my work too much)
~Special commission slots? No idea what this would entail yet, it's just a thought.

I may be coming down to the wire on this whole having-a-baby-business but that just means I could really use some extra monies lying around. So I'm officially opening commissions up again!

I am NOT currently accepting pics for in-game currency.

So right now, I'm dealing with a bit of a dilemma and it all comes down to timing.

Currently my husbando and I are trying to close on a house, which means we're holding onto our savings as tight as possible til we can get the bank statements cleared and everything out of the way. So I can't dip into our bank account to deal with this issue.

The issue being, my puppy. He's wonderful and perfect in every way except he has some issues with a couple of his teeth. I have a little money leftover from my last batch of commissions but it's not enough to cover the surgery that the vet has recommended, despite the fact it's actually pretty cheap. With my current wrist trouble I can't take on MORE commishes right now, unfortunately, so I have to resort to asking for help in a way that I really hate because it makes me feel like I'm begging.

I've set up a GoFundMe HERE to just get the rest of what I need for my boy. There's more info in there, if you care to read it. I would be eternally grateful if I could get this procedure done ASAP to prevent any long-term complications with my babyboy's chompers because he's honestly the most wonderful little beast ever, and I want to do everything I can to make sure he grows up as happy and healthy as he deserves.
