So I went to the dentist the other day and left with three fillings in the rear two top right molars. Again like all of my fillings they are the result of having braces and damage caused by my wisdom teeth.

I'm not sure which was hurting more my face or my wallet.

So much for having broadband it's supposed to be 25Mbps up and down but at the moment I'm getting 45kbps.
I just brought a game on steam and it's saying it will take 8 days to download which is still better than what it was before I reset the modem when it was saying more than one year...

I'm finally back online as the power returned two hours ago after being off for 2 1/2 days since the storm on Thursday night.

There is still a bit of a mess in the freezer to deal with and a trip to the shops to replace all food that has spoiled while the fridges were off.

Well it was a while ago. The wind was blowing really hard then it dropped off to next to nothing for about 20 minutes before coming back from the other direction.

According to the local radio station there are trees and power lines down all over the place. Unfortunately this includes the line to our hose as a tree on the neighbors property has come down across the wires.

So it will probably be some time tomorrow before the line gets fixed.

Still it could be worse I still have access to the internet at least as long as the battery's in my phone and tablet hold out. We've even managed to get our router working again using the car jumpstarter so I don't have to use my limited phone data.

I'm so glad that I live on top of a hill at the moment. That said there is also another river between where I live and the river that is flooding so i have little to worry about.

First I was digging the trench for a new power cable today and got a nasty blister on my hand. The I managed to cut myself while shaving (with an electric razor) and finally when putting some stuff away a paint chip came off the door and wedged itself under my fingernail.
