Free art!
Posted 14 years agoHay guise
I have been super-unproductive on the furry front lately, and I'd like to start uploading more regularly. To this end, I'm going to be taking a few requests. These are likely to just end up as sketches, but if I'm particularly inspired by a character, I might end up finishing a piece or two as time allows.
So leave me your refs! I'm particularly in the mood for pin-up drawing, so if you don't want your character drawn nude or in a suggestive manner, please do let me know that specifically.
Also keep in mind that I can't guarantee that these will be done in a certain time frame. These are not commissions; these are a fun thing for me to do that will likely result in free art for those who comment.

Musics!
Posted 14 years agoRecommend them to me!
I like:
Excellent lyrics
Industrial
Symphonic metal
Classical instrumentation
Things which are "different" (whatever that means)
Operatic vocals performed by both males and females
Hard-edged guitar solos
Epic-level drumming
Electric ambiance
I'm not so fond of:
"Indie" - meaning three chords, speaking-in-tune singing, et cetera. For the most part "indie" music as a genre doesn't do it for me. Feel free to recommend independent music, though, if it's not that or especially if it fits any of the criteria in the first list.
Whiny vocals
Rap/hip-hop - I don't like condemning huge genres of music, but generally this is not what I'm looking for. Again, if you feel there is something exceptional, please drop names.
Please please please tell me about new things. I love finding new stuff to listen to, and I've got money to burn on my iTunes account.

Posted 15 years agoSemester's almost over, and I gotta say, I won't miss it. It has been long and trying and... long.
Art has been slow. I remember when I used to work pretty quick, but now... jesus. Sooo slow. Hopefully when summer rolls around I'll have a little extra time to finish things. :)

Dragon Age: Awakening
Posted 15 years agoSo, little bit of a bitch-fest here.
I really adored Dragon Age: Origins. While it has its flaws, it is, in my opinion, the best RPG to be released for the last few years. The story was solid, the characters were (mostly) likeable, there was a lot of gray moral territory to explore. The only thing I really hated about it was the ending. After finishing it the first time and realizing that there wasn't an option I liked (even a little), I stopped finding the motivation to finish it, even though I started several other characters. It's really just a matter of opinion, but I was bitterly disappointed in how everything turned out.
Today, the expansion pack was released. I bought it, and, while I haven't finished it, I find myself... sad. They've taken out a lot of the best roleplaying elements of the original campaign in favor of black and white decisions that leave you feeling like you've just fucked someone over. Hard. In the wrong hole. You can no longer initiate conversation with your companions--an element apparently carried over from Mass Effect 2--and this makes romance impossible. I know it's silly and sappy, but I like romance plots in RPGs, or at least a good level of companion interaction. That's gone, now. The story seems interesting, but it's not moving at a consistent pace and at this point, several hours into the game, I'm left wondering if I'll ever really have time to know what's going on.
In short, the focus has shifted, so fans of the original campaign might find their favorite elements left in the dust.
Other than that--well, combat is the same, but they've added new skills, specialties, and talents to keep character customization interesting. There are new material tiers for weapons and armor of all varieties, and lots of fun new items to track down. Still, the imbalance between "improvements" and what made the original special have left me seriously unimpressed. Maybe that will change as I get closer to the end of the storyline.
That's all.
