Everyone, sorry about the continuing of this hiatus. But, I just ant y’all to know that I appreciate putting up with the waiting as I am. As it stands, the old laptop has seen its last days and currently looking to upgrade. Believe me, I’m itching to get back into things and hate on how much this month stalled me. It’s the beginning of a new year and what a roller coaster last year was. A lot has happened outside of life and during my personal struggles. Lost a few good family members and trying not to lose myself in that fold. But, I’m still standing thanks to everyone around me. So, I hope y’all can continue to watch me grow and perhaps see me doing more crazy nonsense. Here’s to a better year hopefully! ^^

Wouldn’t you know it, my computer is starting to come apart on the seems. It was bound to happen, had it for a few years. But now something has come up where I can’t really work properly on it. So, until that issue is answered, art is on temporary hold. Hope y’all could bare the wait as I try to sort this out. Until then, keep on being awesome out there!

People, I decided to dismiss this situation by saying I’m no longer going to be part of DeviantArt. I used to know the site well years back, but currently…it doesn’t feel like a home to artists anymore. Well that’s my opinion, due to the Art Theft situation on there. If y’all wish to pursue the matter, go ahead. But, I’m deciding to cut myself off from DA completely and move on. So, the artists who did have their art stolen in someway on there…my heart goes out to you.

Always support the official artists who does the work with their passions, artists like DJ Rodney, EZDBud or any other artists you see their work anywhere including me. But, that’s all I gonna vent on about it. I promise a real update journal is coming soon, so please look forward to it.

This has to be...the most emotionally drained I felt in years. First my aunt, then my grandmother and also my grandmother’s sister. Just last night, one of my dearest cousins died in a car accidentZ. 4 deaths in just 10 months...its just too much for my heart. My cousin was a big gamer, he got me into gaming in the first place...he also helped me in college. His death...really hits me in the heart.

To be honest, I feel like giving up all together as I’ve closed my own heart to others. But...I just don’t know. I’ll always remember him what what he done for me. But...my heart, it’s getting more hollow by the second...

Had an awesome birthday, thanks everyone for the wishes! Now it’s time to move forward! So let’s go, wooooooo!

5 years....5 whole years, being part of this community. When I first found this site, I thought it was only just for a lot of people just for famous ones to show their work. Or even, just some place just to talk. But, as I joined and experienced life of FA and the people in and outside of it...I realized it was something else. This place to me...is like a temporary escape from the harsh times outside your control. Well all need a time to where we can just show our interest, laughs, fears and just have a fun time. I know this site doesn’t have the best of people or the best of what an art site has to offer, and that’s fine. I don’t need it to be a public site that everyone needs to know. I just be part of the community because I wanted to experience it. The people I met around here, the ones who helped me in life, the ones who I helped, shared memories...it just doesn’t stop. And I’m glad that I experience it with all of you. So, I don’t know how long I will be around this community...and I know people look to it as a hobby as everything else. But, I’m gonna enjoy for as long as I feel I need to.

Also an added note, 500+ watchers have joined looking at my work. I can’t thank y’all enough for enjoy and supporting me these past five years. I hope to continue putting out my own kind of ideas that I like and maybe y’all would like too. Because really, popularity isn’t my goal and never once was, I just enjoy doing what I do.

Hello everyone, VaXen here. And man...where should I begin? I guess I should start with last year to here. A lot has happened around the world and with me in general, including family death and moving to temporary hotel for the floors to get redone. Regardless, I’m still making art and improving my craft. It’s just, I’ve also been getting priorities in check and have to make those changes. But rest assured, I’m still alive and well, so I’ll still be around. Also, my birthday is coming up soon, June 5th. I’ll soon be 25. Wow, already quarter of the century there. It’s surprising how time flies.

Okay, so this isn’t gonna be long, just a brief update on things. First off, I’ve been working on some life management with choices that can better myself for getting more energy out of me. I just don’t really use it effectively enough, but I’m trying to. Above all else, life and family are my priorities. Second, I’m looking to get my bed replaced soon. Many days have passed and I’ve noticed my sleep is becoming less and less pleasant over time. Curse this rotten old bed! So that’s getting changed soon, hopefully by the end of the month.

As for the computer situation, I wish to talk about it. Look, I know at times I can be quiet and not able to output artwork at my own pace right now. But, please just bare with me for a while longer. This situation is kinda tougher than I though, and I will say it’s a work in progress and maybe I’ll get it very soon. I must thank my family for lending the hand for supporting me. Anyway, I’m not trying to procrastinate on my own end. Currently, I’m still sketching new ideas that I could post later. They aren’t as flashy as it would be digitalized, but I’m putting as much expressiveness and feeling into em’ as if they were.

For now, you peeps keep on putting faith in me and the patience. I’m not gonna fall behind on my own duties I have to do. As soon as I get back into my own groove, y’all can look forward to new projects being in development and whatnot. That’s all I can say. I’m hanging in there, fellas. Don’t worry, things will get better for me! ówò

Hey, I have some unfortunate news. The Surface Pro 4 that I have been using for many years has been showing some wear and tear. The warranty for the device has long expired and now I’m without a working laptop. So this Unfortunately means there I’ll probably be no Bowser Day 2019 image nor progress of the raffle images until further notice. Really, I’m truly sorry that this happened and some things happened beyond my control as I feel like I let a few of my friends down due to my inconveniences. Rest assured, I can still sketch traditionally but I can’t digitize my works at all nor color nor scan them. It is a real shame and I’ll be working hard on finding a solution for this soon.

It’s finally 2019 and so far it looks like some major things are already happening. Some good and bad, also some in the middle. The point is, the year is only good as you make of it. It’s up to you to decide how you will spend your time. Don’t waste it, it’s all you have. But now on to the reason why I’m writing this journal. XD

So I decided that I needed to step up and revamp everything. That’s right, everything that I have taken and learned durning the past few years of college and outside of it. I’m still experimenting in a few styles that I wish to get a hold of. Great artists that’s I look up too have their own. And now, I need to find mine. Following in ones shadow ain’t going to do jack, so I need to get my mind around that. Every failure I come to is an opportunity for me to take note of it. I make the mistake into something I can possibly use in later time. Same goes for art also; that too is why I’ve been slow on the uploading. I apologize to those who I do owe and very thankful for their patience. Just bare with me again please. I promise from here on out, I’ll dedicate myself to be my own artist that others can look up to. Not just traditional and digital; but that will be at a later time.

As for my well being, I want to get outside more. Maybe there are a few furries in my state. But I want to go outside of it. There are cons, meetings and other events that are not like the ones where I’m at. So I’ll be saving a lot of money to do so.

Now in terms of my sona...here’s the deal. I know many are not a fan of plants or anthro plants or whatever. I get that, but at the same time...I don’t want to be know as dragon number 34. To be honest, looking back I probably would’ve chosen something else other than a Piranha Plant. But, then later down I thought...”You know, maybe for the sake of diversity...I’ll stay like this.”. And while that has shown results, it’s clear to me that many others are not fond plants. So...I don’t know what will become of VaXen. But to those who are wondering will I kill him off, I’m not. To those who think I’m falling into peer pressure...I not. I’m just thinking, perhaps I should look into branching out more and experiment in doing my own creatures. I do have some in the back of my mind that is very fanciful. But I’ll elaborate on that later too. For now, I’m sticking with VaXen.

Now in terms of art, got me a new system in the form of Clip Studio Paint EX. To those who saw my first piece, that is only the beginning. But unfortunately, that brings to something else. With other art, it takes time for me to complete. So I might be doing more sketches or grayscale images as daily submissions. Though, every little bit builds up so...that could be fun. The more I do, the more I get the feel of doing it regularly. So yays for that. But y’all can expect more stories, backgrounds, characters and more during these coming months.

Finally some social news, I finally gots me a Twitter. You can find that in the contact section of my FA page. Nothing much there yet, but soon. I want to get to know y’all better and meet new friends along the way. And this will be a very big help on that alongside Discord and Telegram. X3

I know I’m not very popular, and have a lot of content and very much quiet sometimes. But I just want to thank y’all again for sticking with me for these past two years. In few months time will be the third year of me being on FA. And you bet I’ll have something planned for that. But seriously, thanks again for sticking by me.
