for my hubris as an american i was struck down on july 4 with covid but im back now for better or for worse and the election only has precious few months left to stop me

there was a family death over the weekend, ive been with family this week. its ok, but i feel kind of sluggish and burnt out socially and im not like... super in the mood to be around

i have an update on mas cancer situation, its pretty good. in her last pet scan they werent finding much in the way. theyd been giving chemo both by infusion and thru spinal fluid which has been working. theyre going to finish the current course of chemo and see where to go next

hmm thats all. i do not have any updates on My health situation. i am still treading water here. all i can do is wait while they monitor

ok so the current issue is that theyve found an anomaly/mutation in the genes related to platelet disorders and potentially leukemia but theyre not SURE bc the mutation is unlike the usual markers for it. so thats fucking cool

theres decisions to be made about next steps but its very ??????????? either they suck my blood out regularly for a few months of monitoring or i just cut straight to the chase and get a bone marrow biopsy. both have a high chance of being inconclusive bc i guess im just weird


oh and the weird tongue tumor that started all this last year is still here. literally no idea what to do with itself. a freeloader

this is something of a dream ive had for years. i really strongly desire to capture this feeling ive had as a child in the 90s and early 00s, remembering when my dad would build his own computers and getting new video cards. the boxes were garish as fuck, old school 3d renderings of goofy fantasy shit, dragons and robot dinosaurs. that shit Captures me, it always has

i want to recreate these kinds of feelings through that primitive cgi, not new and polished like what you can do with blender. i want the specific limitations of small spaces of data, crunched pixels and unlimited simplicity

inspirations i find are artists like norenxaq here with their gallery (https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/norenxaq/), or old point and click art projects like "the museum of anything goes" and "drowned god", and modern retro indie games like "anatomy" and "discover my body"

that said, i have never been a 3D artist in any sense. the most of my experience was with sculptris and some maya back when i was learning animation, but those didnt really stick for me. im completely lost as to what sort of 3d programs would work well with these ideas, where i should start!

ayyy its been awhile

ive finished my schooling last month, and this week i passed my state board exam and am fully certified to work in pharmacy now. its stressful and itll be a new challenge to balance on my disability but im glad. this turn in life is something i needed, because having art as a career previously has been draining and leaves me wanting

for the most part ive been really blessed with great clients who have been understanding and patient more than i felt i deserve. but as far as the way my brain is wired, doing artwork for others under pressure has ruined so much. being disabled on top of it just added to the wreckage. art has always been an expression of language to me, deeply personal. i really dont like taking directions on that whether itd be a supervisor in the animation industry or an independent private client. dont tell me how to speak my language haha

im hoping moving forward working in medicine will let me return to art as a hobby rather than a job. i want to love art again rather than be stressed out by it

howdy. its been awhile, im sorry. life continues to vex me

a couple weeks ago was my birthday, on the 12th. uneventful, even with the given state of.... The Everything

ive just about finished my required training hours as well. i have the pharmacy board exam scheduled for next month, and then hopefully ill be certified to work in tech. i wont say im not nervous haha

outside of work and personal health ive not been up to much, artwise or otherwise. i want to apologize for that, but also im not super inclined to. its no ones fault and art is mercurial. im at peace with it as my hobby

have been skittering video games tho haha. guild wars 2 and warframe are the main multiplayers. i can be a bit shy and awkward but the invitation to come pester me in-game is always open, if it interests anyone
