Just lately, I've been considering working out a more androgynous look for Megan to wear sometimes. Not for any particular reason, but just because it's a look I rather like. She's still be female and still be referred to with female pronouns. I guess it's just that there are times when I want her to look sexy, and times when I just want her to be treated like a regular person. I've also considered digging out my old idea of having Niamh drawn as different species and applying it to Megan. I think she'd look pretty cool as a fox, for example. Or a cat. Though, again, I'm not making any actual changes to her species. After this long, I don't think I could really be anything but a rabbit.

Also, I've decided to give Ciara an ex-girlfriend, partly to flesh out her back story, and partly to give her someone fresh to interact with. I'll never get bored with thinking up things for her and Niamh to do together, but I think it's time they had some more friends. Who is it? You'll find out when the picture gets finished, though I will say that they're someone you've already seen in my gallery.

Finally, I know that cross-dressing femme boys are probably done to death about now, but sometimes I think I'd like to have one, just for the fun of it. I have a secret weakness for pretty boys in dresses and pretty frills and I have to admit to being seriously tempted to break canon and dress Fiachra up from time to time. Except that you almost never see masculine rabbit bucks, so I'm more than a little hesitant to change that. Not to mention, he'd never forgive me!

My  niamh account has been sitting idle almost since I created it. In truth, I mostly registered it to grab the name, and didn't have any plans for what to do with it beyond that. But just lately I've been thinking I might use it as my story account, where I could post all of my own work without having it scattered and broken up by several hundred pieces of commissioned art. I don't really expect a lot of people would be terribly interested in that, but it might make things a bit more organized at least.

I won't be removing any of my stories from this account if I do move, though. I hate leaving holes in people's favorites, and having my stories on this account gives me some vague feeling of being here for an actual reason rather than just lurking around.

Thoughts? Objections? Random silliness?

Road construction near my house, and the windows shake with the sound of blasting nearly every day. Even when you expect it, and know what it is, it's still kind of disconcerting when you're used to there being nothing more intrusive than the sound of the trains at midnight.

One thing you can't live without: My ever-growing collection of notebooks. I can do without a lot of things if I have to, but I can't give up my writing.
3 things to take on a deserted island with you: Find me one, first. But I suppose it would have to be a spare pair of glasses for lighting fires. A pocketknife to form a crude fishing spear. And a fully charged cell phone for when I wish to leave. How's that for cheating?
One nice thing that someone has said to you recently: Oh, let's just say that a certain recent letter from a certain Snowkitten was incredibly touching and has been taken out and read several times over.
Something that always makes you smile: Well, at the risk of sounding totally sappy, all the wonderful comments I get from my friends and watchers on my journals and the things I post. You guys are great.
Hugs or cuddles?: That depends on who you are. I don't mind hugs from people, if they ask first. But cuddles are only for special people.
Favorite place in the whole world: Of all the places I've been? I really don't know. Of all the places I can get to easily on a regular basis? I guess it'd have to be Lexington. It's a tiny little nowhere place compared to some, I know, but it's where I have to go for anything remotely entertaining.
Favorite person in the whole world: I really can't pick just one person. There are far too many awesome people in my life, and I love you all.
One person that you really want to help find happiness: There are all kinds of people I'd like to help, but at the moment I really wish I could help my dear friend  shaiyla, who is having an awfully hard time of it right at the moment.

So guys, I'm curious about something.

I see all kinds of people on this site who say "I'm not a furry, I just like drawing them", or something to that effect. Which is all fine and dandy, as far as I'm concerned, but I always kind of wonder just how people define what "furry" is.

To me, a "furry" is simply someone who claims membership in the furry fandom. Full stop. You don't have to believe you're really an animal, and in fact I'm not sure most of us do. To the best of my knowledge, that's something else entirely, though there's maybe some overlap. You don't have to wear a costume or go to 'cons, even though both of those seem to be pretty popular pastimes. To me, being a "furry" is no different than being, say, a "Trekkie".

But that's just my opinion, and I certainly don't claim to speak for anyone but myself. So let's hear it. What is a "furry" and what do people think it means to be one? Why are you part of this group? Or why are you not?

Again, it makes no difference to me, but I'd love to hear people's thoughts or ideas. Only thing is, I ask that you be polite.

I've done everything I can usefully do today, and I find myself at a bit of a loose end right now. So I thought I'd throw my journal wide open for a bit and see what happened.

So, ask me questions, about myself or my characters. Say what's on your mind. Just babble endlessly about whatever has caught your interest at the moment. Rant away, if that's what you feel like doing. If you don't feel like making it public, you can note me instead. I won't discuss any notes I get with anyone else, I promise.

I'm not one of the cool kids, so I can't promise to have anything interesting to say on whatever's cool right now. But I'll try.

33 years old today. How exciting.

There are no big plans for today. I might go out for dinner tonight, but that's about it. I'm not much on celebrating birthdays, and I generally get embarrassed at the fuss. But the rest of the week has sucked pretty hard, so I'm determined to enjoy today as much as I can.

You guys really like Bleu, huh? I've only had her two weeks and the favorites are still flooding in.

Because it bugs the snot out of you when someone misquotes Shakespeare or, worse, misinterprets him. To the point that it completely ruins an otherwise decent song or poem for you.

It occurred to me at the beginning of February that my little Cassandra has been around for a whole year now. As I've said several times in the past, I originally threw her together as something of a joke. People seem to like the idea of red fox-colored rabbit characters, so I decided it might be fun to put together a rabbit-colored red fox as an answer to those bunnies and Cassandra was born. Since her debut on February 10th, 2011, she has proven to be surprisingly popular with my watchers here on FA. No doubt the fact that her entire wardrobe consists of a pair of purple legwarmers contributes somewhat to that! But I'm really quite fond of her, too, and she has grown into one of my favorite characters, right up there on the same level with Ciara and Niamh.

I had hoped to commission a picture of Cassandra and Megan together to celebrate her birthday, and my own which is coming up soon, but that didn't come to pass. So I suppose she'll have to be satisfied with a journal instead. But I would like to thank everyone who has favorited and commented on the art that I've commissioned of her, and I plan to do a lot more with her in the coming year. Maybe I'll actually get some art of her and her girl Stephanie together for a change, too!

That's not something I'd actually planned, or even thought about. I mention it now just because it's kind of interesting to see how two characters who are so closely related have developed and grown over the years, and how it helps to distinguish mother from daughter.

It's not something I expect anyone else to care about, but I thought it was kind of cool.

My new wolf girl has proven to be quite popular. I picked up eight new watchers last night, and 155 favorites spread out over all five pictures, and that's about as well as anything I've posted has ever done. So, if you would, I'd like everyone who likes Bleu to go and watch  ziggie13 and to support her art with comments and favorites, and maybe even a commission or two. I'm really flattered that so many people enjoy the things I post and I certainly never expected to get this much attention, but none of the pictures I've posted would be here without someone else's talent and hard work.
