Posted 5 months agoHey all! Time for another rare journal from me with some small status updates.
After last fall, some of you noticed I locked my Twitter shortly before moving to Bluesky full time. Well, after thinking on it more and for the reason everybody probably knows, I decided it was time to just say goodbye to that hellsite and get rid of it entirely. My Twitter/X account has been permanently deleted. Anyone saying they're me on there, or anyone using my characters will only be an impersonator.
As for where to find me, my other contact details remain pretty much the same.
https://bsky.app/profile/veluren.bsky.social is where you can find me in the sense of short form social media rambling and seeing art that I get. I'm pretty behind on FA uploads because of writer's block, so you can probably see my finished commissions ahead of time, if you don't follow the artists that made them to begin with.
https://toyhou.se/Veluren is my secondary internet presence, and is where I upload character profiles and lore.
My discord username is simply Veluren, no surname, no accents, or numbers, or anything else, I managed to snag my name easily. THAT SAID my discord is extremely private and only for friends and communities I'm already a part of, I don't respond well to random friend requests.
And I also have https://www.f-list.net/c/veluren/, but I DO NOT use F-list at all actively anymore. That website nearly chased me out of the fandom before I made friends and connections, so I don't care for it at all. It basically just exists for the sake of name squatting and mitigating the risk of impersonators roleplaying my characters.
And one last miscellaneous thing.
Folks may remember my attempt to launch an open species last year, unfortunately for reasons that are still a mystery to me, it got deleted off of googledocs and I didn't have a proper backup. While a lot of the text still exists, it exists on a series of low quality MS paint sketches that I used to plan out the species' reference. So the project's on hiatus until my morale has recovered enough to transcribe the information from the sketches back onto a word document, and see if I can't figure out why it got nuked from Gdocs to begin with (I suspect it's because I went into reproductive habits and they got mad at the word sex).
With all that said, have a good one all!

Open Species announcement! The Florepta!
Posted a year agoHeyo folks! Coming at you with a very very rare journal for an announcement I'm equal parts anxious about and excited for.
For the longest time I've been a huge fan of fandom-species, so I decided you know what, I'll make my own!
As far as the idea goes, this species, the Florepta, is formed from me sitting down one night and thinking... you know, hive minds are fascinating and assimilation into one is so often framed as exclusively a horribly negative thing... what would it take to make it kind, maybe even preferable? Thus I came up with the basic idea, and following through on that further, I reflected on what they should look like and came up with the idea of reptiles that are fused with plants!
Thus am I happy to introduce you all to the concept of the Florepta species through this google doc:

Doing a completely new species is a bit of an interesting undertaking for me, especially considering that I'm a writer, not an artist, just a commissioner, so I had to relay a lot of information exclusively in text and worldbuilding until I can put together plans for a consistent species sheet.
Like I say in the doc itself of course, I'm not claiming sole ownership of the idea of "you've mixed animal A with plant B", but rather giving people that are interested in following up on my idea some guidelines to work with. Being a planimal that's part of a benevolent hivemind following their cultural ideas is what makes a character a Florepta.
They are totally open to work with, feel free to make your own, even tweak the lore to your liking, just make sure you give proper creator credit if you do, that's all I ask.
And of course, if you see any questions, feel free to ask me, maybe you thought of a flaw or something I didn't.

Posted 3 years agoBoy! I don't make these often do I? Well this time I actually have some exciting news!
For those who actually read the context of the pieces I postinstead of just looking at the vorny/horny rubbing one out and leaving I've always had mention of my character's world, Vakkert Sedd, and I'm always mentioning little details and bits of worldbuilding.
Well! No more, I finally got off my ass with my recent birthday and got all of the details of the world as it exists mostly solidified and into one place, and am happy to introduce-
A Treatise on Vakkert Sedd. An all-in-one writeup on all of the current plot developments, geography and cultures of the world my cast all lives on!
It's my hope that with this made I can spend a little less time explaining over myself about what X is or where X is located in my future stories, as well as to just give people an idea of how I write said worlds. I'll likely be referencing this post going forward in any of my stories that require specific denotations about what location it's happening in.
With that said! Thanks to all my watchers for enjoying what I post, I'll be sure to keep it going going forward.

A note on the content I commission.
Posted 4 years agoSo as folks may have noticed if they read the description of my recent uploads regarding my new character Ark, I'm going to be slightly branching out in the kinds of vore I get in rougher variants, this will include light chewing (no gore, just monching on), painful digestion, and allusions of or explicit fatal.
To be as completely blunt as possible, if people view me as some kind of rallying champion of non-fatal, you've unfortunately misread what I'm actually into. By definition my characters won't kill friends when it comes to vore, which has precluded this from happening in art so far, but characters my characters don't know super well in roleplay or story might not always get that privilege, and I'm very clear that most of my cast will kill NPCs that aren't owned by anyone if given reason.
I already have some implied fatal/implied painful digestion pieces on the backburner once they get around to being made regarding Ark and my naga character Aqunos.
Truth be told, I feel like I've been significantly holding back out of concern for folks getting unreasonable about harsher stuff. Some of my characters will bully, hurt and kill. I want to make it clear for the most part I DO NOT find it fetishistic, I draw a difference between - as an example, Vel tenderly eating a friends, versus Vel munching down on a bandit who won't be coming back. I'm pretty much done withholding myself from that at this point.
The bulk of this journal is because I've already had one pithy comment leading to me blocking someone, and to give people who are sensitive around the idea of fatal a fair warning. If you dislike the idea of this stuff popping up from me, even RARELY, you are welcome to unfollow me, but sarcastic commentary or suggesting I'm somehow "unhinged" or "a murderer" for branching out to experiment will only get you put onto my blocklist. If you don't like it, don't look at it, it's as simple as that.

Posted 5 years agoOne last thing to come out of my birthday, I figure why not let folks ask questions? I'm a pretty shy person, and I know I'm hard to befriend or talk to, so I figure having a chat in a bit of the open like that might be a good chance to do it or answer wandering question. And since I like to do bits of "natural" worldbuilding on the side, if you include a character name before your question, I'll try to answer it in-character, maybe you'll catch me out and I'll have to create new story for them to respond.
Though just a heads up, don't use this to ask me for RP or "will you be my friend?", all I'll do is hide your question and ignore you.
If I think a question is too personal, I'll simply say "I don't feel comfortable answering that", let that be it, if you push more I won't respond well, I don't wanna grow my blocklist.
With that said, go for it!
