Sitting on this broken glass
Posted 19 years agoI blew it myself.
If you know those lyrics, I'll yiff you. But I doubt you do, otherwise I wouldn't offer that.
Well, I'm almost done living in my tangled webs of insecurity. My cat is dead, but my Finneus is trying so hard to take her place as Alpha animal. . . he even (finally) got a big German-Shepard bark, and almost attacked someone for coming to my house.
He's in mourning too, though, because he loved Princess as much as me.
No matter what I do, I can't get the image of Princess flinching as the medicine took hold, and then her head falling back limp. And everytime I see it in my head, I flinch. And then I laugh.
And when I can't laugh anymore, I cry.
I'm ready for condolences now, because I can think of Princess with out feeling the urge to jump in to traffic.

Posted 19 years agoWilliam H. Taft
OBJECTIVE: To obtain a fulltime position in the Federal Government.
EDUCATION: In 1874, Taft graduated from Cincinnati's Woodward High School. Like most of his family, he attended Yale College in New Haven, Connecticut. At Yale, he was a member of Skull and Bones, the secret society co-founded by his father in 1832, as well as the Beta chapter of the Psi Upsilon fraternity. His college friends knew him by the nickname "Old Bill". In 1878, Taft graduated from Yale, ranking second in his class out of 191. After college, he attended Cincinnati Law School, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in 1880. While in law school, he worked on the area newspaper The Cincinnati Commercial.[5]
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY: My first job upon completion of law school was Assistant Prosecutor of Hamilton County. In 1887, I was appointed Judge on the Cincinnati Superior Court. I served as U.S. Solicitor General from 1890 to 1892 and then as Judge on the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court. From 1896 to 1900, I was also a professor of law and then dean of the Cincinnati Law School. In 1900, I was appointed Commissioner of the Philippines. It was my job to insure the establishment of civil administration in the Philippines, which the United States had just acquired in the Spanish-American War. From 1901 to 1904, I served as the Governor General of the Philippines. From 1904 to 1908, I was Secretary of War in the Roosevelt administration.
