Just like the title says!! Today is a day where we all love and cuddle all the wolves we know because they deserve it.

I've had quite a few people here, on twitter, and IRL ask me as to my disappearance on instant messenger programs like AIM/YIM/etc. I haven't been on lately as they've become insanely frustrating as I don't want to upset people. However it seems not being on also is upsetting a few of my friends.....

Okay, so let me get a few things off my chest and this is not directed at anyone in particular. I'm sorry if this hurts anyone's feeling as this is not the intention as I do not ever like, nor want to be nasty.

Here is my usual messenger program goings on:

*logs in, usually after work and a few things and I'm a little tired already*

*program not even finishing loading and suddenly I have five buddy pounces opening windows......*

*my brain disregards all of them thinking they're pop-up ads and I'm irritated as I haven't even gotten to see who is on yet*

*finally see who is on and try to chat with a few people.....*

*have a few without pounces say hi and want to chat and I don't mind, though now have 20+ tabs going.....*

*try having fun and keeping up with everyone, though paying attention to anyone that has anything in serious need of advice*

*half the windows it has been a couple minutes to respond to and now begin either getting depressed thinking I'm trying to actively ignore them or are getting angry and saying I'm being rude as hell*

*another fourth of the windows have about fifty lines from someone going "you there?"*

*and a few scant people are responding at 150+ wpm typing and expect instant replies*

*I get stuck now ditching someone in need or spreading myself over every other window who will all be miserable and angry as I'm responsive but slow*

......... *then logs in next time invis to ten pokes and anyone I try chatting with chiding me for being invis....*

Erf...... Guys I really do want to chat with people but I really need you to understand I'm all over the place when I am on. It really does take me time to respond, and I am not pissed at you or trying to say you don't mean anything to me if I do not reply for a couple minutes. So here goes....

I want to be on AIM/YIM/etc, but if you want me on there, you have to be willing to be patient with me replying and know it is like a big party room but I'm not able to have a martini with you all at once. It sucks and makes me miserable to feel that way but that is how it is. Also, if you have something to notify you of people being online.... don't add a buddy pounce pleaaaaaaaase. I have yet to know anyone who doesn't use them, but likes receiving one. Just wait a sec for someone to get their bearings as they often load before the program is done. Also, don't yell at me for not being on more. Asking, sure that's okay and this post is the explanation, but don't be nasty about it. Don't think any of you here fall under that, but I have experienced it in the past.

So, I'll try to be on more once people have had a chance to read this. I'm sorry I don't show up more there, but it makes me miserable and I need help from all of you if I am to go on it. Thanks for your patience and sorry I've been absent. :(

Thinking of doing another hour or two fursuit stream this week as a lot of you guys are getting back from FWA and it should help fight the evils of PCD. Plus it'll give the people who didn't go a fursuit to look at and hopefully make things better. Well, it is a fox, so of course it's better!

Anyhoo, going to ask here and my tweeeeetter which would be better for that purpose. Tomorrow night, or Tuesday night?

MISCELLANEOUS:

A: To finally meet a few people I've talked to off and on for ages and never met. Also to suit around and be bouncy!

It's in Texas so of course I'm going. Who else should I expect to see and beat, er I mean hug there? :3

Sadly I don't have enough space to say everything I want to, so let me say I had a hell of a lot of fun this con, though ate horribly (aka awesomely) and walked several miles a day to put it nicely.

Rooming with  bravo who also enjopyed himself, and with  twitchdawoof which was nice and he's really good at getting people to explore the city. Last year I barely walked a block from the hotel, and this year we got on the tram to In-n-Out, walked to the doughnut shop, and then some. I'll definitely say this was the least I've ever sat around at a con by far.

Now for a general list of pros and cons and such, starting with the cons as frankly, you know everyone secretly loves seeing gripes first!

CONS:
*FIRST AND WORST OF ALL..... There was this one little female artist who I will not name who was a totally rude and mean-spirited person. I was walking in the background of numerous instances in which she would lose her temper after about 0.0001 seconds and go off on folks. She was ugly to anyone, had zero patience for others, and I have never seen any furry act this absolutely childish and immature in public..... this coming from me of all people too! If she didn't want to be at the con she should've stayed in her room. Cons are public places, and you should have some patience and respect for other people. It was a sad sight, and I wasn't the only one who noticed her behavior as half a dozen others knew instantly who it was when I opened my mouth on the subject. Sure, she doesn't have to worry about impressing people as she has her group of friends, but honestly she is never going to make new ones and I will never buy/commission art from her again.

*The Hilton. I didn't stay there, but it bummed out a lot of my friends who did have the misfortune of being there. The management were bums and went out of their way on several people to make them feel unwelcome. Also it would've helped had they shown every congoer months ago the little contract they pulled out of their asses at check-in. Basically they told furries no booze, etc. at the door when they'd have no time for alternative lodging. Pure douchebaggery and I think the FC staff is handling this for next year.

*Need a place to sit and draw that isn't on the 3rd floor and packed! Not like I got to use it anyways! hehe

*Elevators.... Four for the con in a 26 story hotel. You can probably guess how that went. I know a few people who got mad at those who rode down to go up, but if you were not at the first floor it could be a half hour wait. Bitch all you want as I did do this once or twice when I needed to go up, had waited excessively, and my joints were flaring up like a motherfucker so stairs were a bad idea at times.

*The fursuit headless lounge was in the most remote B.F.E. place it could have been.

*The con staff needs to tell the oversaturated DJ community enough is enough and they can't all have a slot. Pick the good DJ people, or hell, put a list up with poll and let the community decide a half dozen who can do sets. That's it. You don't let everyone with a pencil have a dealer table, why do you make exceptions for the music crowd? Honestly most of it was terrible, with people not realizing there were twice as many on stage than the dance floor. Thank you to a skunk, bunny, and wolf who were the only ones I ever saw people head inside for. (You guys know who you are).

PROS:
*Everyone other than that one little meanie was immensely laid back. You could hang out with anyone, and nobody seemed very clingy or jealous.

*FC has the best food in walking distance of any furry con I know of. From bottomless mimosas to doughnut stores that serve beer to garlic fry bonanza, it rocked.

*Pre-reg was actually faster than the regular registration this year! Also once it got up and moving, it was a fairly decent speed to get into anything. I know people will say there were long lines (true), but I've spent far longer to get into dealer's dens and registration at conventions.

*The staff to me seemed very knowledgable and friendlier than prior years. They checked badges this year, but it was just a "head on in!" instead of some years where it is more of "Let me see your badge and make sure everything is listed and stickers are where they need to be and blacklight verify this as we metal detector your bunghole...."

*The younger furries in the crowd are actually pretty good people. I know a lot of the older crowd is really hesitant to talk with any of them, but guys give them a chance. They're really sweethearts and I felt good meeting a few new faces and hope to see some of them again next year.

*Finally got to put faces with a lot of furries I know online or by their suits.

Overall there is a hell of a lot more to say, but I don't have enough time to say it all. Though I will try for FC next year and thank you all for the memories and such!

To me one important thing for conventions is to make a to do list of a few things that you really would love to see or do for your con. If you get even half of them done then it is usually a damn fun convention as you got some things you really wanted. So here goes:

1. Be a bushy happy fluffy fun fox all con!
2. Get a dozen badges complete to hand out.
3. Hassle at least six wuffs. (already have them in mind muwhahahaha)
4. Go to at least one room party.
5. Mess up  dingbat 's hair
6. Go suit with
7. Steamroller
8. Try to sneak a hug in on without being pummeled into oblivion.
9. Suit an hour a day.
10. Dance with that stinkpot folfsky

Not saying I don't want to do stuff with the rest of you, just some of these I owe specific foxy hassles for one reason or another. XD

First of all want to tank all the watchers here for putting up with my dork of a self. So I have a few resolutions to post for 2012:

1. First and foremost finish all backdated commissions and art before March. I have been unreasonably late on these and if anyone is mad at me I can understand. I'm in a little over my head and need to get it fixed. (not my head, I mean on track) Thank you to everyone who has been patient.

2. After getting up to date on art owed, post a color picture weekly. I really need to do this. Color is always fun!

3. Learn how the hell to use a tablet. I have one, but really have trouble working with it. I just don't "get it" as far as my visual field corresponding to a space difference. It's like drawing with my paws in a box, and I just don't have the trust of where they are yet.

4. Get back to hassling wolves monthly! They need it and got to be far too complacent and stinky in 2011, and need to be put back in their place. Their place being under a steamroller.

5. Fit comfortably in size 38 pants or below. I've lost a fair bit of weight, but want to keep losing until people can tote me like a fox.

6. Do some fan art. There are a lot of shows and characters who don't get the appreciation they deserve.

7. Be less of a disappointment. This comes with living up to expectations, not being flakier than dandruff from Ally Sheedy's head, and generally trying to be open more even if about my failures in life. This isn't an excuse, just being upfront with my sucking to a lot of people in 2011.

8. Make something. Shirts, mugs, an FA banner even. Just -something-.

9. Give some gifts to people. Art is about happiness and should be enjoyable. Giving is always nice.

10. BEING SOCIAL. I swear I learned to walk sideways and clack my paws like a hermit crab in 2011. This has to end. I need to be willing to go online more. However this also means I have to be honest when I show up on AIM and get 20+ windows in telling people it may take a second to respond. X3

Let's just say I am very much like my character. Most people find me either fun as hell, or a little spazzy/dorky and don't hang around. I work in medicine so I'm used to dealing with anyone and everyone. I try to be nice to anybody who approaches, and if I am ever seen hanging out with some people repeatedly it isn't because of cliques but they're the only people around at the time.

I normally severely hate Giftmas, but I'm trying to not post tons of profanity. A surprise gift from a certain roo really cheered me up a good bit, as did wearing some antlers around (I'm being a deer until tomorrow, maaaaybe New Years hehe).

So in the spirit of not being angry and spiteful to the world have a good holiday everyone.

Let me start off by saying that I royally hate to even bring this subject up as one of the worst things in the world to me is having anyone say who you can and cannot hang out with. I love giving people the benefit of the doubt, trying to be nice (albeit silly), and knowing a variety of people of completely different views. However I think it needs to be said, some people are just toxic.

Recently looking at some posts on someone else's journal that was a flamewar, I saw a face pop up that oddly I was not surprised to see. I'm not going to name names or validate who this was if anyone guesses, but needless to say it was a furry trolling furries. Okay, I can understand people being upset or picking on someone here and there especially if somebody has done something really negative towards one another. Though in this instance, they were being an ass and reveling in making bystanders miserable. Was I surprised? Not really that's what this person does and they aren't the only one who does it.

Over the past few years I have seen this individual being rude and uncalled for to others and strangely he has a pretty solid group of followers with him. All the followers started off being fun and enjoyable people, and as time went on..... every one of them has become absolutely miserable and just as bitter. It's been sad to watch as some are my friends, and now they're reclusive and hate most other furries as they sit around unhappy while the guy who brought them to this place laughs it up.

So just as a general bit of wisdom from somebody who has been in furry for quite a long time, the old fable about the bird who tried hanging out with the peacocks and was laughed out for not being one was dead wrong. The more you hang around something, the more it rubs off on you. It may be funny here and there to rile someone or make an off-color joke, but take a moment to ask yourself if that is the only way you or your friends are happy? If someone is only happy making others miserable, then frankly, if you hang out with them then you will likely be just the same.

I'm not saying to avoid them altogether, but be better than that. Limit your exposure so they don't drag you down, and so hopefully some of your positive influence will rub off on them. Be the bigger man. You don't have to sit at your computer all day making fun of the worst of the fandom and dwelling on the negative.

Furry isn't all negative. It showed me I can make friends, be happy in life, not feel the ugliness inside (or as much outside hehe), and more. Hell, furries spurned me to go back to college and do things in life. I actually go outdoors and do things sometimes now whereas before I was totally reclusive. It's been one of the best things that ever happened in my life. Know what though? That's because I -chose- to look for positive things and people. It's there if you look, but if you don't see it, maybe you need to find people in your life who are willing to choose the higher road.

So to end this little rant I'm going to steal from the brony community for a second and say that even if you guys want to hang with asshats, or try to be miserable, I'll do what I can do be here for you (even if it means I may have someone being a butt to me, it has happened) and I will love and tolerate the ever loving shit out of you all.

Thank you everyone who is a genuinely happy person and keep up the good work, and to those who let themselves get miserable, thank you too as I appreciate the reminder that happiness is a choice, and I hope one day I can see you having a good time again.

So yes, I might have to hug them, pet them, bring them a glass of lemonade..... despite how stinky and fleabitten they all are. If he loses to Bucktown, I'm going to be extra mean and spank Twitch with a cactus and be twice as awful to all wolves.

Taking a moment from sketches from Iron Artist (should have a few to post this weekend) to say with the end of March comes the bestest month ever!

Today kicks off Be Nice to Wolves Month where we celebrate those smart, cute, pleasantly-scented noble cabids we all love and respect, WOLVES!

So find your nearest wolf, and give them cuddles and scritches all over! Especially blue wolves as they're the wolfiest!

I even invite all you wolves to come visit the lovely Lupine Lounge right over yonder behind that door. *points to it and puts on a halo*
